I had a real craving for Chinese food today, I'm really glad I didn't go the generic Panda Express route! I was pleasantly surprised by the service and attentiveness of their host. I ordered the the egg drop soup for my appetizer and the chef's special egg fu yong for my entree with a to-go order for beef n broccoli. I'm pleased with the egg drop soup because it came hot and fairly bland so I could add salt to my satisfaction. The egg foo yong...next time I'll pick a protein instead of all three (beef, chicken, pork.) The texture was great, it was hot and definitely presentable. I just couldn't nail down a specific palette that it hit...even with salt it wasn't enough to capture an exact flavor, it was ok, like I said, next time I'll pick a protein, lol! Really wanted some quick Chinese food for lunch and my usual spots are 20-30 min away. I found this place on DoorDash and was shocked at how decently priced their lunch specials are. I ordered 2, the bbq pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken, since I couldn't decide and with tax both were under $25. The portions are large and come with a soup or soda to go. My food was hot and fresh and was ready immediately once I arrived. Lunch special pricing is M-F until 3 pm I believe. I will definitely be back! A few months ago, I wrote a raving review about this restaurant when I rediscovered it having a new chef who did a splendid job preparing a few dishes that we favor. Since then we have been going back fairly regularly. However, 2 days ago I went to pick up a few dishes to take home, i,e. General Zhao's chicken, garlic egg plants and Singapore noodle that we order fairly regularly. To our honor, other than the noodle dish, the other 2 items were major disasters! We all know what General Zhao chicken and garlic egg plants taste like, but these came out totally sweet & sour and nothing else. I called the restaurant to complain about them. Instead of making them right, I was told they have a new chef now and that's the way they cook these dishes now, sweet & sour. Take it or leave it, I was told. No apology, no nothing. I rarely write bad reviews, but I think this is terrible attitude from a small local business. We will never go back again, and would not recommend any of our friends to go. First off, everything was too salty. The Dai Pai Dong Seafood Fried Rice, rather than having that smoky flavor from the wok that we crave in fried rice, was darkly-colored, over-seasoned rice with overcooked, mushy seafood. No thank you. The moo shu pork came with four wrappers, one of which had black spots which I'm pretty sure were mold. I took my daughter and brother here today for the first time. I saw that they had duck tongue so I wanted to try. I got duck tongue and salted pepper deep fried soft egg tofu for munching. It's an entree size. I got my bro and daughter beef brisket noodle soup and I had seafood noodle soup. The soup is plain no flavor but we finished our noodle. However, the portion of duck tongue and deep fried soft tofu is more than enough for 3 of us. Or maybe each of us also had a bowl of noodle soup. This review is solely based off my first and only time at this restaurant and ordering the Baked Chicken & Cream Sauce over Spaghetti. My favorite and go-to Hong Kong style food restaurants in Seattle are located in the Chinatown-International District (C-ID): A+ Hong Kong Kitchen and Hong Kong Bistro. I've had the baked dishes at both restaurants and was excited to try it at Eat Time. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. It was gross and sadly, I only had a few bites and didn't finish it. I see the many glowing reviews on this place and believe that other dishes may potentially be better, so I'm willing to come back and try other them. We love Eat Time. They are our go-to for Hong Kong-style Chinese food, which is generally our preference. The tofu is a bit dry - and for instance, we wish the General Tao's tofu was done with silken tofu (which maybe would have to make that a totally differently named recipe but that would be great, too!) - the sweet sauce for this dish is amazing, I eat it just with rice, but the tofu that comes with (if you get the tofu) is too dry and with hard edges. Nevertheless, we order here as often as we can and also enjoy visiting in person - their décor on site is quirky and fun and also shows a lot of determined effort to create a unique space for guests. We were kindly greeted by our server and were escorted to a table. We ordered the beef chow fun, stir fried xo noodles and clay pot beef brisket with radish. I thought the stir fried xo noodles was just okay. It didn't have the wow factor. The clay pot was bubbling hot when it hit to our table. It tasted pretty good but I wished it came with rice. We tried the following dishes: *Stir-fry rice roll with XO sauce (4.5 stars, $11.99) - great wok flavor! *Peanut butter toast (4 stars) - Crispy toast with a thick layer of peanut butter and a little butter topped on top. Best eaten when it's HOT. If possible, ask the waiter to bring it last. Or order it at the end of your meal. I enjoyed it a lot, but my friend said it left a weird dry feeling in her mouth, which I thought was just too much peanut butter. *Roast duck (3.5 stars) - kind of bland and not very tender. *Salt and pepper fried tofu (3.5 stars) - It's the Chinese kind that the tofu is fried a lot, so it's crispy, but hard. Here are my thoughts on what we ordered: Salt and pepper chicken: This was my favorite dish out of everything we ordered. The chicken was perfectly crispy, seasoned well, and not oily. I came here with 3 other people, and this was the only dish where the portion was too small to be shared family style amongst the 4 of us. Mandarin style green beans: Solid dish. I thought the green beans could have been crispier. Not the best, but not the worst I've had, either. Honey walnut prawns: Their prawns were huge and the flavor met my expectations, but they forgot the walnuts in this dish. Duck tongue: I've never had duck tongue before, but I decided to try it along with all of my friends based on all of the raving reviews that mentioned duck tongue. I would describe the concept as eating chicken feet, where you nibble around the bones and spit out the bones. Another way to describe it: a very small chicken wing with no meat and a tiny bone in the center. I thought the flavor was fine, but it's not something I would get again after trying it once. Other random things to note: Rice is extra and charged per person. The decor was very cute. Parking is easy because it's located in a large parking lot. Eat Time is an oasis in a Chinese food desert down south. There is not much else to compare it to from West Seattle to Burien. I have tried several dishes since they have been around, but tonight I had a craving for some of longtime faves: moo shu (any kind is good, tonight was chicken), scallion pancakes and hot and sour soup. I don't know if they have a new cook, but the food was even fresher and brighter than its usual high standard. The moo shu had a wider variety of vegetables/mushrooms (I am going to guess wood ear, lily flowers, maybe shiitake), and everything was cooked perfectly (not limp and overcooked). Soup had just enough cornstarch, because there is nothing worse than hot and sour that is too thick. My only complaint is they put hoisin in with my pancakes (which was probably just meant for the moo shu), and I missed the thin style sauce that usually comes with scallion pancakes. It's really easy to order online, and they text when the order is ready. If you eat in, service is always friendly, and I wish I could get one of their cute staff shirts. Really wonderfully authentic Chinese food in Burien. The vegetables in each dish are fresh and stir fried to a tender crispiness instead of mush. Both the chicken and broccoli and beef and broccoli are succulent and delish with a side of very well made white rice that, amazingly, remains soft and smooth the next day even after a night in the fridge (so many restaurant rice become crunchy kernels of flavorless mess within a few hours). Their pork won ton soup is also highly recommended with a bounty of fresh veges and a wonderful, warming broth. Highly recommend their lunch specials that includes the entree of choose with sides of rice and a choice of hot and sour or egg drop soup. Each one under $14. There's very little dine in it seems at the moment, but it's the perfect take out dish for a home movie night. read more

The food was decent. We liked the flavor of the fried rice, the Mongolian beef was tender, we also had sweet and sour chicken and it had a nice crispness. I just couldn't get around the filth - the table cloths and even the empty tables had dirty tops. During covid when cleaning is at the forefront, and tables have been moved and separated, this would have been the ideal time to wash the tablecloths, the floors...etc. It was good enough food- but not the high stars others have given it. read more
