Prices vary depending on the breed and the rarity it is. From as low as $15 to a much as $50, I think. They have all the supplies you need also. They close early, like most places, so don't lan on going in the evening after 5pm. If you're lucky, they're still there, but I'm sure they would like to pack up to go home for the day. read more

Since the feed store I frequented closed down, I needed another place to buy safflower seed for my bird feeders. I looked up Feed Stores in OC, and got a few results, including Kruse. I narrowed my choices down to two, and went with Kruse Feed & Supply. After putting off a visit to Kruse for the longest time, I called ahead to make sure they had what I needed. A pleasant voice on the other end belonging to one Emily said she'd check, and verified that they did have what I needed, and so, I made plans to stop by the next day. The place is located in what appeared to once be a 4-bedroom house that had been converted into a feed store with lots of food and supplies for dogs, cats, birds(wild and caged), as well as horses. After perusing the store(I should've looked closer for a price on some steel trash cans I was looking at), I walked up to the counter, where I was greeted by none other than the voice on the other line the previous day, Emily, who was an absolute sweetheart with her pleasant demeanor. I ordered a 50 lb. bag of Safflower, and a 50 lb. bag of Black Oil Sunflower. I paid, and was told in that same pleasant voice that my seed would be loaded into my car. Sure enough, a couple of the guys brought me my seed, and loaded them into my trunk. Bing bang boom. Overall, nice place, great service. I'll definitely stop by again! read more

Purchased 6 chicks from here on two separate occasions this spring and will do so again. The staff are genuinely nice and incredibly helpful with my 1,001 questions as a new chicken mom. Also, I arrived between 7 and 715 on two days to ourcgase chicks and I was the 12th person in line the first day and 20th person the second. Recently I had this idea to put out some tasty snacks for the neighborhood squirrels when I found three running through my front yard, across my porch, up & down trees & electric poles the other morning. We use Kruse to feed our piglets for FFA show, but raised them at home rather than at the high school in Elsinore, number of years ago. With the 3 mo of starter, then 3 mo of grow, then a mo of finisher, we were really surprised when the show pig was too big for show & the 'runt' made it to the top at the fair! Same happened with our lamb, who took reserve champion ewe that year. Great feed offered for raising livestock for show or home use. read more

I just adopted a second bun and after years of buying oxbow Timothy hay off of Amazon, it was getting too expensive for two little mouths to feed. I used to ride horses so I knew that feed stores had very inexpensive hay, but it's usually sold in a bale and I live in an apartment. I decided to try out Kruse Feed & Supply store and they were selling pillows of Timothy hay for less than $6! I grabbed two and they even had rabbit treats, feed, vitamins, and toys inside so I grabbed them a new toy. The staff was so friendly and the buns approved of the hay. I highly recommend! read more

I was on the freeway and their truck driver was operating the vehicle at a very high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic and when I called the front desk to let them know about it, the woman simply disagreed with me tried to defend the driver, claiming that she was monitoring the speed of the vehicle from the office And then she was very curt and hung up the phone. I do not recommend this company. They have unsafe vehicles, and they are not obeying the speed limits. I have never bought from this company before, but I have this experience on the road today in Whittier. read more

This is my new favorite store for my awesomely cute bunnies! They've got everything a pet owner need. If you are like me where you have an incredibly difficult time finding where 'rabbit pet supplies' are sold, because whenever you google or yelp that, what comes up are everything BUT what you're looking for comes up, then let me tell you that the search/headache is over! Kruse sells a variety of very fresh hay for all the pets that loves hay. I always come to buy their timothy hay, but they also sell Oat Hay, Alfalfa hay, Orchard Hay.. etc. They also offer to sell them in smaller bags or in bales. They will also divide up your giant bale of hay up, into however many little bags you'd like to have them in, just $1 per division. It is well worth it. I've done the work myself after a mistake in getting a large bale and how big it really is; and let me tell you, it's a lot of work for an individual who is only 5'4" with girl strength (even though I'm a lot stronger than I look, I'm man enough to admit my strength is still in the girl range, or probably that of a weak guy). Not to mention the mess and space you'd need to properly divide everything without being covered in hay dust. There's a giant tent/warehouse behind the store where they store and pack all the bales and bales of hay. It all seems very fresh and unaffected by the weather! Since I've had a lot of bad experience whenever it rains here, the hay usually gets affected. I've spent a lot of stupid money to buy the blackened-hay that's hidden underneath the dry hay, quality goes down the toilet. All their prices are very very reasonable (or cheap comparing to a lot of other places that sells supplies for animals) and the owners/cashiers/employees are all nice people, without being annoying. Kruse also sells a lot of things for your horses, chickens, birds, little adorable furry balls (of animals), and most other supplies you'd need in caring for farm animals. There's things that will help get rid of horse-butt-loving-flies, pests, leashes, health related supplements and anything that will help in the wellness of your pet. There's also tons of stuff for dogs and cats as well. They also ALWAYS sell baby chicks inside the store. Even if you don't have any pets or chickens, it's still fun to come and check out the furry little yellow chicks, before they turn ugly. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that you will most likely be able to find whatever you need for any legal pet/animal you may have. The owners and the store seems like your local mom and pop type of shop that provides you what most pet supply stores can't. read more

Support your local independent pet food stores! This store has been around for as long as I can remember. They carry a wide selection of pet/farm animal food for all your needs. They carry quality brands that you can't find in your major pet stores at comparable prices. Employees are very knowledgeable and can answer any questions you may have. If they don't carry a particular brand, you can always ask them to order it for you! Always feed your pets human grade food to keep them happy and healthy. I have feed for my horse delivered to my barn every Saturday. They are always helpful, always have my items in stock and keep my info on file and I just call in and place what I need. It is SUPER easy and when the fires displaced the OPA horses and they arrived at the fairgrounds facility kruse came in the middle of the night to help with hay. I would not shop anywhere else! Their delivery employees take care to follow the instructions to put my deliveries in a tack box across from my horse's stall because it is difficult for me to lift them on my own, which I full heartedly appreciate. I have been going here for years for my chickies. Their chicken/poultry feed really is the best. The chicks/chickens go crazy over it. They also carry very healthy, happy baby chicks, which makes me happy. I had a bad experience at a different feed store that has made me realize just how great Kruse is. If you want healthy chickens you should buy everything from this feed store. Nobody was wearing a mask and I watched them help customers with masks around their necks or chins as I waited in line for about 15 minutes behind another customer who was also wearing a mask incorrectly. The entire time I'm thinking "is nobody going to pull their mask up?" I come here to pick up feed for my animals regularly. I've been getting my horse feed here for years, and have always been fairly happy with it. On the very, very rare occasion I've gotten something that's past it's prime I've never had a problem returning/exchanging it. The staff are helpful if you've got any questions, and always very friendly. It's a small operation, so if you shop there more than a few times they get to know you, and it's nice to have that kind of relationship. My only *minor* complaint is that I wish they offered more variety in their baled hay. But if you don't need anything other than alfalfa and a few varieties of grass hay you'll be okay. They now carry Triple Crown Feeds, which is really great since it was hard to find in the area previously. They can also special order a number of products if you request them. read more
