I called this location today and asked for any availability with anyone at all. She said "sure, what time works for me" !!! Wow, you'll never hear that question in my Brooklyn location!! I went for a lower leg appointment with a girl named JAY, short for Jennifer. She was adorable and gave me one of the best leg waxes I've ever got! So detailed and was a perfectionist! I have been a loyal customer for several years and have consistently scheduled my appointments with Carmen. Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed with the service I received on June 28, 2026. I arrived for my scheduled appointment with Carmen, after receiving multiple appointment reminders and a voicemail confirmation. Upon arrival, I was informed that my appointment had been changed. Carmen then approached me and stated her manager had contacted me. I advised her that I had never received any call from a manager. Carmen proceeded to state that she had been told I informed her manager that I tip her through a mobile payment service. This statement is completely false. I have never spoken with any manager regarding tips, nor have I made such a statement. The last tip I provided to Carmen was given in an envelope. Carmen then informed me that, because of this situation, she no longer wished to see me as a client. I was shocked and embarrassed, especially since these accusations were made in front of other customers. Not only was I not properly notified about the appointment change before arriving, but I was also falsely accused and publicly embarrassed. To make matters worse, I was told that if I wanted to be seen by another associate, I would have to wait an additional hour. This entire experience was unprofessional and disappointing. As a customer, I should not feel pressured to tip out of fear that false accusations will be made against me. Given this experience, I have lost confidence in this location and its management. I only have two passes remaining, and I will use them at another location. After that, I do not plan to return to European Wax Center. I hope this matter is reviewed seriously, as no customer should be treated in this manner. read more

Review is NOT for service - I've received nothing but excellent service here. My review is for the fact that I did not agree to renew a wax pass (they are very relentless with asking you to renew and take advantage of the special promotion - which seems to be offered year round) and was charged for it anyway - over $600. I did not notice the renewal right away since the first charge was in December and I had a service on December 22, planning for that to be my last wax after 20+ years as a loyal EWC customer. That charge appeared on my January statement (which I received in late January); I assumed it was for the December service. I noticed the 2nd charge on my February statement, which I didn't review right away. Everyone in my household had covid and a lot of everyday tasks slipped for a while. I called at the end of March to say "Hi, can we please take care of this" and the answer I finally got today from the location manager was, Nope, since I didn't call within 30 days of the first charge. I didn't even know about the first charge within 30 days! So, I guess this is on me - $600 worth of waxing which I will never use - for not being zealous about checking my credit card statement. read more

This facility is a penny pincher. There is a 7 min grace period and I just made it as parking is crazy in that area, however reception argued that she checked me in 8 mins after my scheduled time and I would be charged an additional fee because she claims I must be in the room by the 7 minute grace period which is BS. I have been going here for years and one minute will lose a client for a lifetime. Reception and rule should be adjusted and I will be spreading the news. We try to support our black owned businesses but it's times like this which makes me hesitate when supporting these black owned businesses. It's almost seems like desperation. read more

I will not be returning. I booked my appointment online weeks ago. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and checked in with one of the two receptionists. I sat down to await my appointment. I watched 8 women enter, be called back, and leave in the first 25 minutes I was there. By this time, one of the receptionists had left, so I approached and asked the other receptionist why it was taking so long for my appointment when everyone else had come and gone. She apologized and fumbled for an excuse. She told me it would not be long. 15 minutes after that I approached again (40 minutes after my appointment time), after watching another 4 women enter, be called back, and leave the facility. I pointedly asked if there was some sort of mixup, and she admitted that there had been, and my waxer had taken two later appointments (regulars) before me. At this point, I was forced to reschedule an important client meeting. At 52 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I was called back. My waxer complained about the front desk (I honestly do not think it was their fault), and said she didn't know how she was going to fit me in given that she had another appointment in 8 minutes. Note that I had an appointment that had been neglected. I was not being "fit in". Instead, two other customers were seen ahead of me based on some unexplained error. The point of failure, to me, in this experience, is not offering some sort of discount or compensation for the time I waited, the important meeting I had to reschedule...all of which was completely and admittedly their fault. If you admit to an error, then compensate the customer fairly. I can't say I'll ever return to a European Wax establishment after this experience, and they were my go-to for many, many years living in NYC prior to my move to NJ. This is my first Yelp review in about 10 years - because I am so bothered by this experience. read more

2.5 stars from me. I just sent an email to the location about my experience so I'll be updating this review in about a week or so. Anyway... I called to get a same day appointment and was very easily accommodated. I was able to schedule an appointment within 90 minutes of me calling which was great. I asked for a specific person because I saw her name mentioned repeatedly in reviews about being the best but she was unavailable. I can not recall the name of the person who serviced me and by no means am I trying to throw anyone under the bus; however, it wasn't a great experience. I've been waxed before. Now granted, it's been a while and I am pregnant but from what I recall, a Brazilian leaves you completely bare for at minimum a week or 2 before you feel the prickles of new growth. It's barely been 36 hours and I can feel the hairs all over the top. While getting serviced I complained about the was being too hot. I was told that I was just sensitive because I'm pregnant. It BURNED. Again, I've been waxed before and know that the wax is hot but it should be momentarily uncomfortable. It burned my skin and the rubbing of the wax into my skin made it that much more uncomfortable. I made sure to mention that because I'm pregnant, I haven't seen down there in a while so the hairs were long. Usually they'd cut it down before servicing but she just went straight in. The other issue I had was the way she waxed. I'm not a professional but you're supposed to pull the hair in the opposite direction of growth right?? Well in the area that already has new growth just a day later (on the top) the hair was pulled from left to right, like a book. It was super painful. More so than I can remember past appointments being. All of that and I'm not even bare. I'm upset!! I reached out to them about the issue and I'm currently awaiting a response. If they rectify the situation, I'll update. If not. I'll say it was a clean facility, easy to book, but not great service. read more

Had my 2nd Brazilian today and I'm just still so pleased with this place! They have their own "type" of wax which is not available to anyone else along with some softening cream. The wax never once burned my skin and was easy to come off. Today Tajah did my wax. She was quick (25 min) and painless. My last place would take an hour and was grueling - many times the tech would go to grab stray hairs with the tweezers and grab my skin instead!! Other times the wax would burn the skin on my inner thighs and I'd peel for a day or 2. I always just assumed this was normal until I came here :) Oh and like the other review said - DONT forget to tell them it's your first time using their service! They take 1/2 off!! My update of my experience with EWC is long overdue. Despite my first experience there, I decided to venture back and have been going for some time now. Brandi is now my go to person. A complete opposite experience from the first time I went. She is very thorough, patient and practically painless. She definitely makes you feel at ease when you enter the room. The place is clean and the ladies at the front desk are always welcoming. Now with COVID, they have a number of safety measures in place including checking in outside, temperature check and the dividers at the front desk. read more

Update 2019: I was recently in town and decided to stop by to get a quick lip wax. They squeezed me and I don't know the name of the waxer (very young and petite) and she was horrible. She barely put the wax on before she was pulling it off. She did not let it sit which means consequently I left there and still had half my mustache. Just a reminder to stick to people you know. Unfortunately, Savannah was already gone for the day. Trying someone new is a huge gamble. I lost this one. Dropped my stars for this one. Original 2016: I've been coming her since June and seeing Savannah. I've tried Brazilians in a few different places and she's hands down the absolute best. She's the reason I keep coming back. Savannah is very patient and makes an effort to get to know me. She remembers what we talked about and genuinely feels like a friend. Most importantly, she gives the best waxes! There is no one that I trust more than Savannah with my waxing services. On top of being the sweetest person, she is super professional! She takes the time to make sure all of my hairs are gone and that I'm completely satisfied with everything. Everyone compliments my eyebrows after I see her. I would rate Savannah an 11/10 if I could. Strongly recommend booking with her. If she isn't available I would also recommend Rivera. Total sweetheart as well. The location is extremely clean. I started with ALEXA and have not left her since! She definitely has taken her time and patience with me. It's been almost a year since I've been coming and it has been the best investment I have made. Recommending a full leg wax has changed my life! Alexa always takes her time getting every single hair and is truly invested in making sure she does her best every single time. I started coming here after a HORRIBLE traumatizing experience of getting a full leg wax that lasted two hours. In addition to getting bad advice at the Halsey location. Alexa gets me In and out in a painless 30 mins. Not to mention her great attitude and we honestly get to catch up every 4 weeks with girl talk. I give all kinds of reviews but today I thought the review was worthy of posting. Pre-Covid I purchased a wax package. Fast forward to July 2021, I contacted EWC to inquire about my package. The CSR advised that I do have waxes available. So you mean to tell me that if your customers dont contact EWC to inquire then basically EWC keeps your money. Its the principal. The front desk sits all day and management never thought to advise the front fesk to make calls to customer who ALREADY paid Pre-Covid. Thats a bit concerning for me. read more

I came to EWC because my friend goes here and told me about getting my first visit half off. I thought it was worth a try considering the price. They seemed to be more focused on sales then the quality of their services. There's a chart with recommended tips at the register which I think is distasteful (I tip 20% regardless). They also tried to upsale me on scrub and lotion products (which I've never needed before) and over priced bundle packages. It's a business, I get it, but I felt like it was being shoved down my throat. I made an appointment and had to wait for about 15mins once I got there which I didn't mind too much. Once I was called in, the esthetician made great conversation but left areas of wax and hair everywhere. She left a whole patch in the very rear which looked really bad. They also didn't wax the stray areas on my inner thighs or stomach, but I heard this isn't normally included. There was no final wipe down to make sure all the wax was removed, I left looking powdery with parts of my underwear sticking to the leftover wax. I will never return. I usually go to Nadia's Full Service in ironbound, Brazilians are only $30, she's clean, includes the stomach and thighs, is punctual, very meticulous, and leaves me feeling buttery smooth with the mineral oil she uses at the end. Maybe I've just been spoiled by her, but I expected at least the same quality for the inflated prices at EWC. read more

I've been here a number of times now, always for their underarm service. I absolutely despise shaving my underarms, and the ladies at EWC do a fantastic job. The whole operation is clean and modern looking. The wax specialists always wipe down the tables in front of you, and they don't double dip wax sticks (meaning they use a new stick every time they take wax from the pot), which I think is ultra-hygienic. They also have a strip-free wax, removing one more item from the system that can be easily contaminated. Tracy is my favorite so far. She's super meticulous and so far has done the best job of all the wax specialists I've gone to. I love how easy it is to make appointments online, though you need to call to reschedule or cancel your appointment, which is a bummer. Also, if you're getting serviced regularly, they have an unlimited wax pass that is a great deal! They're good for one body part, and you can literally get serviced everyday if you wanted to. This has become my home EWC since I moved out of Hudson County, used to go to the EWC in north Hoboken. Since my transition I've been quite pleased with the level of service here. The first wax specialist I had was OK but my hair grew back super quick. Granted, I don't use any of the EWC products and my hair does have a tendency to grow more rapidly in the hotter months so probably less her technique and rather other factors at work. However, the second time I saw Sharon and she made magic happen. My legs were bare almost 4-weeks in! This last time I noticed some patches (very small) on my thighs that she missed once I got home. Note: if you want to check your waxed area(s), go to the bathroom and take a closer look. The Montclair EWC location is right off of Bloomfield Ave, down the street from the Bay Street train station and next to Panera (within a strip mall). The parking lot is a death trap so keep in mind the crazies. Prices for waxing range and follow all EWC standard pricing; I have a full-leg wax pass but I think the one-time full-leg is about $70. The cashiers are friendly and courteous. This location also has a lot of discounts and sales on products. read more

I went in to purchase the serum. When I walked in the receptionist asked if I had an appointment. I told her no, I just wanted to purchase serum. I grabbed it off the self and bought it to the counter to pay. The receptionist asked me if that would be all. I said yes. Then she asked if I had an account with them. I said no. She asked me my name. I asked her, "can I just purchase the serum without providing my name?" She said, no that they would need a name and number to look up the account. I wasn't sure if I had one, because I've only just purchased their products without services. I gave her my name and number. She said she couldn't find it but that she could create an account. I told her I did not want to create and account I just wanted to buy the serum. She said " I'm sorry you must create an account in order to buy." I asked her why, she said "to keep track of your purchases." So I told her I would not be doing that. I put the serum back on the shelf and left. I called another European wax center in Clifton. I asked them if I can make a purchase of their products without creating an account, they said absolutely. So I had to drive 10 minutes out of my way to buy the serum. I will be contacting the manager at the Montclair location. That was ridiculous. read more

Finding Savannah at the Montclair location gives me one less thing to be anxious about. I don't need to worry about an awkward experience, unpleasant experience, or a painful experience. I have peace of mind making my appointment and knowing I'm going to get consistent service. She just makes me feel comfortable... not to mention, she welcomes my 2 littles when I have to drag them in there with me! Loved this place! It was extremely clean and hygienic. The table was cleaned right in front of me before placing the protective paper down. My esthetician never double dipped the sticks and she made sure to wear gloves the entire time. Abena was my esthetician and she was absolutely awesome! She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Not to mention she did a wonderful job with my waxing. Like others have mentioned in their reviews, EWC uses a strip-free wax, which is awesome. It doesn't burn your skin and it left my skin silky smooth. Besides the absolutely amazing discount I received (half off!!!!), i also walked out with a few free samples of the products they used on me that day. Btw you can purchase some of the products used in store. Every single employee was pleasant and attentive. I had a great time and will definitely be back. They're so acomadating with appointments and the wax specialists there really know what they're doing. My favorite is Tajah! I always get my Brazilian and eyebrows done by her. I'm deeply saddened that I can't get my eyebrows done by her anymore because I would receive compliments all the time!! I've never trusted anyone with my brows. I've always plucked at home until she mentioned she does her own brows. Ever since my appointment with her I haven't plucked since because I just love how my eyebrows come out after! I hate being this girl, I really do. But I need to share my experience. Reluctantly came here for a Brazilian & Full Butt. What a mistake! I think the aesthetician must have been new because she did an absolute terrible job. I felt like Sam didn't know what she was doing. She ended up getting wax stuck to me in certain private areas where you definitely don't want wax to be. She tried her best to keep her cool and get it off, but she ended up getting my lady parts stuck together. Her supervisor came in to remove the wax. When Sam was done, I assumed she'll exit the room & give me a minute to get dressed & inspect her work. She didn't ! She asked me to get dress immediately to walk me up to the front. When I got home I noticed there was a lot , I mean A LOT of stubbly hair all over still and some parts look like they haven't been touched or done AT ALL! I had to SHAVE! For what you're paying, I expected more! It was a waste of $$. read more
