DO NOT GO HERE!!! The only reason I came to this place is because I was rushing before work to get a pedicure and my usual place was short staff and I couldn't wait. This was the closest place that had availability, but I honestly could've went home and did it myself they do sloppy work. There were no customers in the salon, yet they were rushing as if the customers were an inconvenience to them. I can tell this is one of the lower end nail salons in the area and the people that go there clearly don't know any better. read more

Terrible polish job. And this was after I asked them to fix it. Polish was all over my cuticles, the lady didn't trim or file my nails at all, she didn't push back any cuticles...nothing. No real exfoliating. Worst pedicure ever. At least, after seeing the poor job, the owner did not charge me. read more

It's been over 5 years, probably close to 7, since I have been to KT Nails.. initially I went here to see Tim. One visit he was out sick and I hooked up with a husband and wife tech team and when they left there, I followed them till they moved from the mountains. I keep in touch with them and during my last visit to their salon (yes I drove 6 hours to see them on the coast), they told me that Tim was back! (he had moved out of state). I am so glad he is!! He did an amazing job tonight on my nails with a photo I brought in.. I am so pleased. It was Yelp that directed me to Tim back then, the reviews on Tim were outstanding. Sooo not worth the money. I got a basic mani/pedi and both were done incredibly sloppily. She was very hasty with everything and spent unequal amounts of time on each foot and hand with scrubs, massages. She didn't do cuticle removal on my toes even though they need it. The polish was sloppy and uneven on both my fingers and my toes and even on the skin around it. I had to ask her to remove my cuticles on my fingers, so she went back and did it very hastily and rough. Before we started I told her I needed gel removal on my fingers and toes and she told me it would be $5. Then, at check out they told me it was actually $10, $5 for each, something she did not specify in the beginning. I'm never going back. It seriously looks worse than what I could have given myself. read more

This is now my second time at KT nails and it has continued to be a lovely experience. The shop is beautifully decorated and relaxing. The massage chairs are high end and even have a usb spot for your phone! Our nail techs Lena, Rose and a gentleman with a great sense of humor all did a wonderful job. I came to this nail salon today with my mom and fiance. They both got pedicures, I got a manicure (no polish, just a cuticle cleanup really). When the person doing my nails began, I noticed that she didn't use clean/autoclaved tools - she just pulled then out of a drawer. Every other nail salon I've been to pulls the tools out of the autoclave packet in front of the client. I should have left when I realized, but at that point but she was already into the routine and I felt awkward. I figured it might have been just me, but mentioned it to the my mom and fiance afterwards and they said the same thing. If this is a regular practice here, it's a serious health concern. My nails look okay but once dry of oil, my cuticles don't. Even if they did, I would never return here due to their unsanitary practices. I'd suggest that anyone who sees this avoid the place as well. read more

This is the most mediocre pedicure ever. I still have dead skin on my feet. The pedicure took maybe 12 minutes.. He didn't even clip my nails. I was going to get my nails done too, but after seeing how the tech rushed my pedi, I politely passed. The pedicure was $25 (basic) I paid $5 extra for the warm LOITION and exfoliating scrub. Showing up on the first warm Sunday in months I knew there would be a wait, but I didn't imagine that it would take that long! I actually left (there seemed to be people who had made appointments so that is what I'm doing next time) and came back a few hours later and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted and thanked for coming back after their rush hour. The place is impeccably clean and Tim is an amazing nail tech. So friendly, professional and thorough. I even also asked if they are willing to do nail art (most of salons in town don't want to because it either takes too long or they just don't know how) but he said absolutely! They were so accommodating! I called ahead to see if I could come in at 730 even though they close at 8 and they said okay! Got a full set w french + gel overlay for my friend's wedding My manicurist was super fast and efficient and did a good job. I also got my brows waxed since I was there already. I rarely get my nails done anywhere but my "place" in Austin. So when I had to suddenly run out of town for 2 big occasions with nasty, grown out nails, I was desperate to find somewhere to help me out. So my mom and I came here for a pedicure and so I could get my nails taken off (I don't let anyone else do acrylic nails other than my "place") and a manicure so I didn't look like I didn't love myself :) great pedicure with no painful stabs or scrapes...super relaxing. And they took my nails off and painted them with normal fingernail polish which is not usually something I do because it's not worth it. I usually mess them up or chip them before I've even made it out of the building. I am here to tell you that I realized the other day I'd had that polish on for 3 weeks and it was JUST NOW starting to look like my fingernails got caught in a wood chipper. That's absolutely amazing and a little scary because I can't figure out the wizardry they used to accomplish this, but if I lived in Asheville (ohhhh if only) I would be here on the regular! read more

I rarely get my nails done, and I wouldn't consider myself a guru on best practices, techniques, or what should be expected because of this. But I have had my nails done a few times to know the difference between a great, average, or poor manicure and pedicure. My good friend has been coming here for years and loves the place, so we made a date to get our nails done together. This was my first experience and overall it was good! The employees are very polite, professional, and attentive to you. I noticed while I was there that majority of the customers were repeat or regular customers who had good relationships with the employees. I gave kt nails 3 stars instead of 5 because I've had better experiences and outcomes from other nail salons. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. The individual who did my nails was new, and that definitely effected my experience more so than if I had had someone more experienced. The environment could definitely use some improvement to become more relaxing/serene. It's overall state makes you question the sanitation of the place somewhat, and the layout was very cramped. My pedicure and manicure were both good. The only thing was that the guy kept burning my toes when drying them for gel paint and didn't file my nails evenly during my manicure when I asked them to be rounded. But as I said, he was new. I'd definitely be willing to give it another shot, but overall I'd say it was a so-so experience. My friend raves about their eyebrow waxings, and says it's the only place she trusts to get them done. They did look good! Very disappointing and upset! I've been here many times, usually have Rose as tech. Today I had the top pedicure, Volcano, and a SNS mani. Rose zoomed through both. I was there an hour. The pedicure was not relaxing, not enough polish, not sure it was even the right one. Mani is barely done. There are places along the edge and back that are not covered. My daughter also got a pedi and it looks awful. She had her sns removed to give her fingers a break and the girl pealed the nails off without soaking. She was in tears when we left. Her nails are sore and look terrible. Yes, we both paid for this service. I didn't know how awful Daughters experience was until we got in the car and she broke down crying. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I had two great visits here (a pedicure and then a manicure) before today's visit--yet today's visit to KT Nails will be my last. For 10 years- in several cities and towns, including once at KT Nails-- I have had my toes painted different colors. Today they informed me that they would have to charge me $3 extra to use different colors. What?! No nail salon has EVER charged me more for this. After all, I'm not asking them to use any more polish than they would normally use. This is a ridiculous request which I refused; to their credit, they "let it go for today..but next time you have to pay $3 more." There will be no next time.
