I enjoyed my pedicure here last night. I was long overdue after Helene and was looking for a salon to fit me in after work as many salons close at 6:00 or 6:30. This salon closes at 7:00. I walked in and only one other patron was finishing up with her manicure so they took me immediately. I was impressed that they gave me a beautiful drape for my lap because I was wearing a skirt. I've been given a towel before by other salons but never a specially embroidered drape. This is definitely a nice touch. I asked for a gel pedicure and (listen, I know you're not supposed to do this but I have a medical condition that makes my nails not grow) acrylic on my two big toes. I did not catch my service provider's name but she was very gentle and I enjoyed my service. She fixed me right up and made my weird toes took beautiful. I will definitely return. I paid $65 plus tip which included the pedicure with gel and acrylic on two toes. I would have upgraded if it was offered but it was late and we finished exactly at 7:00PM as they were closing so I wanted to respect their time. I'm mentioning this because I believe I received the basic package plus my add-ons. Either way, I am very satisfied. read more

I've lived in AVL for about a year and have tried a few different nail salons and this is BY FAR my favorite. I'm a stickler for cleanliness and all of their supplies are autoclaved & individual tools are opened in front of you. The place is bright and open & each station has clear partitions. The staff is polite and quiet, they'll chat if you want, but otherwise are respectful of your silent, "me" time if you will, which I value very highly. The prices cannot be beat ~$30 for gel manicure and $45 for a leveled-up pedicure, these prices are at least $10 less than the other salons I've been to. BIG BONUS, you can tip on your card versus having to race for cash with ATM fees. Can't recommend this place enough. read more

I went 2 days ago for the first time to have a mani/pedi before leaving the country for a work trip. The water was too hot, and I told the girl and she didn't adjust it. She was too rough/hard with the massage on my feet and I said it was too much. She kept going. After the pedi, she sat me at a table and used a dremmel tool to file my natural nails and the cuticle. It hurt and I kept saying "it's hot, it hurts" and she kept going. The tool was very hot and it hurt. There was no reason to use a dremmel on my natural fingernails as she thinned them so much they now peel back, one is splitting down the middle, and are breaking. She used clippers on my cuticles after dremmeling my natural nails and was too fast, rough, and cut my finger until it started bleeding. Like enough blood to run down my finger. She wiped the blood with the dirty towel on her table. She proceeded to put some kind of powder onto finger and it turned it all brown. She put clear nail polish on and that fingernail is brown and won't come off. It looks like I have poop stuck along my cuticle. All of my fingers are peeling/getting hang nails from where she did the dremmel against them and they hurt. I can't use my index finger because it is too sore from where she cut my skin and cuticle off. There was no instruction on how to get the brown stuff off. All she said was "sorry" when she was done. Now I'm flying to London with crappy broken nails and one looks like I have a shit stain on it. I will NEVER go back and do NOT RECOMMEND this place at all. So disappointing because it's a convenient location but the service was the worst nail service I've ever had. read more

My wife has tried about every nail salon in town and this is the only one she will go to and that was after her very first experience. Staff are super friendly and pay extreme attention to detail...she even gets me in every year to get a manicure. Some of these reviews I'm reading are absolutely ridiculous and must have been a language barrier but I have never heard any employee be rude while spending time waiting on my wife. Love this little spot. They do a great job and are efficient. I was there when state board came in to check for cleanliness and was shocked that they all had to present their ID's. They were inspected bead to toe and passed with flying colors. Do yourself a favor and get the jelly pedicure. It's worth the extra! Everyone is nice. The place is clean and I will go back. Edit: recently I went back for a quick pedicure and I absolutely loved it yet again. I get ingrown toenails and she was able to remove them painlessly. Came to Asheville on vacation and needed a pedicure. The service was alright. Quiet salon. After a couple days I realized I forgot my Stanley cup at the salon after I left. I've already returned home. Called the salon and asked them if I can pay shipping + extra for them to just send it back to me via UPS. The person who answered the phone told me he doesn't care and he's not going to do that for me and he's just going to keep my cup. Horrible customer service. I understand that's not your job and I never said it was your job, but customer service entails going above and beyond for your customer. First time back at NeO in a long time. Entering the seemingly very clean salon, the man behind the desk didn't so much as say hello..instead just looked and waited for me to speak. I had an appointment. He looked at the book and indicated by a movement of his hand where to go. When I got to the chair (identified by the only man filling the basin), he,too, indicated to sit down. No greeting, no smile, nothing. This continued for the entire pedicure..hand gestures, "down, up", unbelievably unfriendly. I'm not a person who wants to chat with their service provider. In fact, I don't, though I'm always friendly if they indicate they want to talk. He frowned the entire time, as did the man at the front desk. I can't help but think that he hated his job (and maybe with good reason). Or maybe he didn't speak English well. But this was over the top. Tipped him minimum and will not go back to NeO. While the salon looked pristine at a glance, I had some issues with my appointment and time spent at NeO which prompted this review. In spite of having made a reservation for 9:45am the day prior, when I promptly arrived, there was clearly nobody onsite to handle my waxing appointment (there was only one gentleman there, I am a woman). I waited, and waited, and waited - 25 minutes to be exact - which during Covid is not something I feel is safe, ie spending more time than intended indoors so stood outside even though it was a blustery, rainy day (Weds before Thanksgiving). During my waiting time, I was able to easily observe the traffic going in / out of the salon, and was horrified to see a man and a woman (appeared to be partners / owners) strolling in and out a few times, negligent of the mask requirement they were demanding of patrons. It does no good to protect the clientele when owners or employees flat out disregard their own mandates set to protect people. I will not be coming back to the salon, and encourage others to think twice about visiting themselves. At least until Covid has passed. read more

Just left a gel mani & reg pedi appt bleeding from two places and I'm so much pain from one of them. The man who did my nails blamed it on my dry skin...I get almost weekly manicures so...nah. That ain't it, dude. I should have just said no to the cuticle trimmers since he suuuuper rough in general, but I figured a solid culling wouldn't hurt. Turns out it does. A lot. Going home to take a zillion Advil and out an ice pack on my hand. Honestly...super pissed. Recently recommended them to a friend and I will be retracting that recommendation. Came here because of the good Yelp reviews and I wasn't disappointed! I went in for a pedicure and was pleased to see that everyone has their own kit. As I was sitting in the super comfy, amazing massage chairs, I noticed that the white floors were spotless. (Rare for any salon) In fact the whole place was super clean! To be fair I went on a weekday afternoon, the place wasn't overly busy, and I had fantastic service! It was very relaxing. My pedicure was well done. The massage portion of the service was EXCELLENT. This has been by far the worst experience of my life. They charge separately to do a manicure if you are getting a dip manicure??? This is insane. He did the dip without cleaning my cuticles and the dip manicure looked horrendous. I am from out of town, so figured they knew what they were doing. He did the manicure after the dip, now my nails look like I need a refill. He rushed through the whole process and didn't care to fix them. Please stay away from this place. They charged me $55 dollars for a job poorly done. Nails are all out of shape and look horrific. DO NOT GO TO THEM, they aren't professionals. read more

I would highly recommend him & will definitely schedule a return visit. He also got me out in a timely manner. He also had a great attitude towards life. The staff adequate, trained and friendly. The prices reasonable. The basic pedicure was $25 the upgrade was $35. All good. I have to say being a stylist in the Asheville area and knowing the sanitation guild lines for Stateboard this salon is the CLEANEST I have ever seen in Asheville! They go up and over to make sure you are safe and they are as well! I was very impressed with Anthony and the owner! They will continue to get my business! It may cost a little more but to be safe I will pay for that! They have serval colors in the dip polish. They are very efficient! We were always told not to go to these kind of salon because of some don't sanitize and disinfect the way they should but this place goes up and over what is required. I recently moved to Asheville and google searched the cleanest salon in Asheville. Neo Nail Spa came up. I made an appointment and had Tony as my nail technician. He did an excellent job, especially his massage. My feet and hands look amazing. I was so pleased. The salon is beautiful, clean and the massage chairs are pretty nice. I like that all the tools are sealed in plastic bags and the tubs have a liner. I totally recommend NeO Nail Spa and it will be my salon of choice here in Asheville. read more
