We ordered 2 round of drinks. A bottle of corona is $5 during game days. Sparkling wines were ok. My husband liked the mojito and he ordered a modelo. For food, we ordered fried snapper and kuban fried rice with pork. The fried fish comes with 2 sides. We got the sautéed vegetables and fries. Everything was greasy and salty. Now we know that we need to ask for less salt. They have many tv screens. We watched the FIFA here. Service was ok. 20% gratuity automatically added like many places do. Honestly not terribly impressed. We wanted to try some Cuban food while in Miami. To begin, the hostess was not very personable or welcoming. Our waitress was very pleasant but I wouldn't say service was above and beyond. I don't personally love when the wait staff is all over you, but I drank all of my water and had to ask for a refill when the check came even though I had been without it for quite some time. I sat by the water outside which was nice but warm even with the fans and umbrellas (that's expected though). The entire menu was quite expensive. I ordered the Frita burger with fries and my husband got the sandwich Kubano with tostones. Both were just okay and we didn't find them overly flavorful. I wouldn't necessarily return. read more

Ropa Vieja (beef stew) was good except the portion was kind of small. Arroz Marinero (seafood rice) was flavorful with fresh shrimps, calamari and fish, the rice was tomato flavored. We had Caipirinha flight with 4 flavors- strawberry, mango, guava and classic. Other than classic, the rest of the drinks were pretty bad with artificial fruit flavors. This is a nice place with tables looking out over the bay. The food is good, but pricey, like most restaurants in nice areas in Miami. I'm not an expert on Cuban food, but I would guess this is more upscale than most authentic Cuban restaurants. But it was quite tasty and a nice bite before a concert at the nearby theater. I can't say anything about the parking because I mistakenly parked in the $30 lot across from the theater, not realizing there were other less expensive options only a block away. Brought our food, never came back to check to see if we needed anything else, and then this place had the NERVE to add a 20% gratuity without our permission. I don't get it why businesses don't understand that this is illegal. You can't just charge customers fees or add gratuities without letting the customer know in ADVANCE. That's why I report them to the city/state every single time. We did make them remove it, not only because it's illegal, but because the food and service were big basura. Came to Florida for a long weekend and decided to take a day trip to Miami. So glad we stopped here for lunch! It's right on the bay surrounded by a shopping market and more restaurants/bars. We started with empanadas originally wanted beef but they ran out so we got the chicken. They turned out to be delicious. The chicken was in a red sauce. The empanada had a well balanced amount of filling and went well with the sauce. It was not greasy which was a plus. For my entree I got the ropa vieja which is like a beef stew with the arroz congris and sweet plantains. The flavors were delicious. Plantains were cooked just right. If I'm ever back I would definitely get that again. For a drink I had the mojito which was delicious with fresh sugar cane. Service was great, staff was attentive. read more

Stopped by here for a drink while walking around the Bayside Marketplace, and they have one the BEST piña coladas. Perfectly creamy and smooth with just the right thickness and that perfect pineapple/coconut flavor. We ordered it in a pineapple, and they give you some of the pineapple on the side to go with the drink. Definitely enough to share between two. It is a little pricier here. The drink itself was $35, which is a fair price for what you get, but they charge a mandatory 20% service charge on the bill. We waited a while before someone offered us any attention. Then the staff did not seem interested or happy to be there. 10/10! Small outdoor eatery that is impressive. My nieces and I were visiting the area and were in the mood for some small bites without a long wait. We happened to come across this charming little restaurant located outdoors, near Ralph Lauren and The Thriller speedboat tour. As we passed by, the hostess invited us in, and we decided to give it a try. Having never heard of this spot before, we were taking a bit of a chance, but it paid off! After we were seated, our server came over with menus and glasses of ice water, letting us take a few minutes to decide. It didn't take long for us to settle on what to order: an order of fried calamari and the Kuba Platter. The platter included yuca lota, two types of empanadas (beef and chicken), tamal, croquettes, and what seemed to be mini mozzarella sticks (tequeños). The platter wa served with a variety of dipping sauce all of which had a very unique flavor profiles, one being a guava compote, delicious! We also ordered two margaritas, a mango and lychee, both were delicious. Every dish we tried was mouthwatering and the perfect amount for 3 people. The calamari was light, crispy, and came with a flavorful dipping sauce, also served with a perfectly grilled lemon half. Each item on the Kuba Platter was hot, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. While prices are on the higher side, that's to be expected given the prime location. I truly can't think of a negative thing to say. In fact, I'm already planning to return in the next week or so. I totally recommend this spot if you're looking for a quick bite, a nice cocktail, and a lovely, open air Miami vibe. read more
