Jerk Chicken Jerk Chicken meal that is accompanied by rice and peas, and sweet plantains.

If you want an appetizing meal, I highly recommend this spot in Miami Beach. Nothing fancy, but packed with Caribbean flavors. Plenty of food for very reasonable prices. So worth the visit here!

Very reasonable good food. My wife and I were surprised of the portions. We had the Jerk chicken and the brown chicken stew. Sides were rice and plantains. When we visit the area again, we will stop by again to support this small business. Service was fast and friendly.

Jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage . 10/10 .

So this restaurant was merely minutes away from closing hours and usually in a food court , that could mean some old- ish less than amazing food . This restaurant however dished out one of the best jerk meals I've ever had . I e eaten from several Jamaican restaurants from different states and I'd have to rank this at the very top . The food is high level and clearly executed by a professionally trained cook but also by one that acts as a scientist with careful methodicalness . The chicken was perfectly seasoned to the bone , had a perfect amount of spiciness and was extremely juicy . 10/10 . The cabbage was also melt in your mouth type of texture and paired really well with the savoriness of the coconut milk flavored , rice and peas . Everything paired really well together and I found myself not even chewing my meal and scarfing it down which is a great sign of enjoyment . To get this level of food in a food court is unfathomable .

I really want to have dinner here. I saw it yesterday and I came today and had only a chicken patty next time I'm going to have dinner. The owner seem very nice.

The snapper was perfectly cooked: flaky, flavorful, and fresh -- and the sides were classic comfort food done right. The staff is beyond friendly and attentive, often stopping by and not only checking on you but also to simply converse about your meal, opinions on the food, or chat about whatever you want to bring up. That is a level of personalness that just doesn't exist in most restaurants or even the service industry. The decor is soft and inviting; intimate; it has a soft, yellow lighting and the rest of the environment is meant to contrast the lighting. It's a nod to not only the owners' backgrounds and roots, but also to the old school fine dining environments. It set the stage perfectly for what was to come. The tasting menu is 10 dishes and is served in 4 courses (apps, small plates, entrees, dessert), served in a 3 plate course until dessert which is 1 dish. Each dish is unique in its own right, yet contrasts from the others so you don't get fatigue from a single flavor or style. For example, the app course that I had was a wahoo ceviche, a shrimp and green papaya salad, and an endive and sharp cheese salad (served in wrapped endive leaves). They all worked together, but offered vastly different textures and contrasting flavors while feeling like an orchestra working together in your mouth. This experience continued through the entrees and I cannot opine on the dessert (rum cake) because I took it to go because I was so full... which has never happened to me in a tasting menu before. Paya is not only worth consideration in a saturated market of fine dining in Miami, it is one that should be prioritized and experienced as an indulgence of senses and flavors. While it may seem expensive in a vacuum, it is 33-50% cheaper than a slew of other tasting menus in the city and offers more courses for that cheaper price.

Amazing menu. I enjoyed the roti starter as well as the scallop dish which had great presentation and flavors. The papaya salad was also a hit. For the miami spice starter I tried the ceviche which has great presentation and quite flavorful. As for the main, I got the fish in curry which was a table favorite! The rum cake was his signature dessert like in Mamey... however, unlike Mamey they didn't pour the sauce at the table and mine felt a little lacking something. I think the table pour was nicer and had a little more generous pour. Overall I'd recommend and return.

If you're looking for something unique to try at the Citadel, Manjay is worth a shot. They serve Haitian cuisine. Portions were generous and in general, the food was kind of heavy. Many of the components I believe were made to order, so there was a short wait. Here's what my wife and I ordered: Appetizer: * Caribbean Conch Fritters ($14) - Manjay pikliz, honey mustard remoulade These were big and tasty. Six pieces, like giant hush puppies with conch inside. The plate came with pikliz in the center. Pikliz is like the Haitian version of coleslaw, made with cabbage, carrots, onions, and peppers. Manjay's version was spicy and yummy. Bowls, each with 2 sides and 1 sauce: * Honey Jerk Chicken Bowl ($18) - breaded and tossed in Manjay's homemade honey jerk sauce; with red beans rice and sweet plantains and scotch bonnet mango aioli * From Haiti with Love (Griyo) ($18) - Deep-fried Kreyol-style slow-braised pork; with banan payzay and toofay Both the chicken and pork were very good and flavorful. The pork was served bone-in. The rice and beans and sweet plantains were comforting and addictive. The scotch bonnet mango aioli was spicy. Banan payzay are Haitian pressed plantains. These were savory and starchy. The toofay ("legume") was good too. It's a hearty vegetable stew, essentially Haitian ratatouille. Our cashier was Roniqua and she was nice. During our visit, I think Manjay had the longest line (a good sign). After walking around, looking at the other food court options and seeing Manjay's high rating on Yelp, we were sold on Manjay. We dined in so we got real plates and silverware. We actually took everything up to the rooftop bar and ate up there. Our trays were bussed by the staff on the roof. Along with this location at the Citadel food court in Little River (just north of Little Haiti), Manjay has a casual strip location near the Miami airport in Doral. This Citadel location is the original; it opened in February 2019. The Doral location opened in 2024.
