I was searching for a place for dinner and I absolutely love Filipino food so with a 4.8 rating my expectations were thru the roof for this place!!! I got the pork adobo and a mango juice and it was AWESOME!! The pork was tender and flavorful and u get quite a generous portion. The service was great as he helped us pick dishes (I already knew what I wanted the second I walked in), but he helped the other person with me. There is a small dining room if u r eating there, 2 tables. Thanks for the great meal!

Such a cute spot for Filo food! I don't know the area well, but after reading some review it seems that there is not much Filipino food in this area of Oregon, so it's great to see such a thriving local business! It is quite small inside, only allowing for 2 families to sit but there are also a few seats outside. Be sure to come before the lunch or dinner rush, as the team is smaller and the wait could be longer for dine in or takeout! The owner was the one to serve us and he was so nice, and explained the menu to us first thing! We got the pancit, lechon kawali and sisig. All very delicious and fresh!

Came in the middle of the day looking for some Filipino Spaghetti and it sure was a great choice to go here! While the inside of the restaurant is small, getting takeout is made easy and the service was great! The cashier was making sure I knew what was on the menu, what I was looking for, and even offered samples! I ended up also getting some Lechon with my Spaghetti and it tasted amazing! I will definitely look to come back here to fulfill some cravings!

I'm pretty picky with Filipino food. Just cause I'm used to home cooked Filipino food, but wanted to see how it is out here in Hillsboro. I must say I'm pretty impressed. I ordered the Laing with the bbq sticks and it smacks. Portion size was perfect Super good, definitely a go to spot when I'm in town.

I had a strong craving for sisig today. This place did not disappoint. Crunchy and flavorful. It was better than places I've had in Southern California. I was on a mission to find traditional sisig and not the kinds advertised from "fusion" places. Kubo delivered this exceptionally well. I'm thankful to be nearby! The service was excellent. The person who took my order spoke about the dishes like they were his art. I was getting excited just placing the order. If you do come by, definitely order sisig and sapin-sapin for dessert! I'd say make this a to-go order as there are only two tables inside, unless it's a less busy lunch time :). I will be back for more flavors! Thank you for you doing what you do!!!

If you like Filipino food, Kubo in Bethany is serving up the best around Portland. In Tagolog, Kubo means hut, and the small inside is decorated to reflect that with two tables. I've been twice and sat outside both times (there's a great toy store across the street!). Rex, the owner, is very welcoming and hospitable, and everything is made to order and worth the wait. A friend who's family is from the Philippines and returns regularly took me and John, and ordered a feast both times: Halo-halo, kare-kare, lechon kawali, pork adobo, lumpia, pancit palabok, and flan. They've all been delicious, but my favorite is the inihaw na liempo, a grilled pork belly. For those preferring vegetarian and vegan options, they serve up several, including laing, or spicy taro leaves in coconut milk, and tofu sisig.

Wow.. really loving seeing more Filipino restaurants in the area! Filipino food is not quite there with other asian cuisines so I am glad Kubo is here showing everyone how good it can be! Kubo in tagalog means hut so the inside decor really reflects that. It's definitely a small space but they have two tables that can probably seat up to 2-6 people comfortably inside. They also seems to have space outdoors but when we came we saw most people just taking it to go. As you enter you are greeted by staff and they are super up front if they are working on something in the back or if there might be some additional time to your order as they work through it. They seem like a small team so loved the heads up. Don't be fooled like us and think only the food shown on their digital menu is what they serve. We made the mistake and only ordered from the screen but all phots on their walls are also items you can order. Will definitely need to get the sisig next time! We ordered the pancit and the lechon kawali and we were full coming out of there! The lechon kawali had a great crunch and love how they have a pickled side like atchara and sauce to dip it in. Gives you a nice vinegary and savory balance to the saltiness of the pork. The pancit portion size was huge as well and we could have saved half but why haha. Before we ended our meal they also gave us some macaron samples they were trying which was so nice. They are also trying out new items like tofu sisig for other folks.

The owner was so kind, patient and explained every dish without hesitation. He went in to detail about every dish even informing us of what wasn't available and why. I didn't take pictures of everyone's dishes cause everyone was starving. The inside searing area was small, 2 tables 4 stools each. But there was also outdoor seating. We went on a cold and rainy day so outside was not an option for us. Everyone in our group loved what they ordered. We were about 8 of us.

    Primo ..

Amazing food, real authentic style Philippine food. I'm over at the U.S. Army Corps Of Engineers in the City of Portland the headquarters and I'm in training's over there for a whole week. Yeah I'll come by again. Yeah there's other Filipino place but they serve fusion type and not so traditional Pinoy food. Services was very very, very good . Debbie is very nice but quaint. There's two tables that sits eight. Besto to do a takeout. They have tables outside also if you wish to dine in. Pam sit was very delicious and very authentic just like my grandmother would cook in Pampanga Philippines. Pork belly Inihaw was very delicious and very authentic just like my grandmother would cook in Pampanga Philippines. Highly highly highly recommend to eat or even have take . This place is closed on Tuesday though .

Great concept, gracious hospitality but the food and flow still need seasoning…read more We were really excited to try Hapa Barkada, Filipino and Hawaiian fusion is a rare find anywhere, let alone in PDX. Bonus: they're open late (until 1 AM per Yelp). Since Google showed incorrect hours, we called ahead before making the drive across town from Happy Valley. Perks: -Free street parking after 7 PM and on holidays -Open late (a big plus in Portland) -Casual, trendy vibe Ordering was frustrating. The cell signal was terrible due to its half basement floor. The WiFi passcode wasn't posted, we had to leave our table to ask a staff for it, and even then, it didn't work for either of our phones. The intent of a digital-only ordering system clashed hard with the reality. I suggested they keep a few printed menus on hand as backup. Kiaha, the owner, was incredibly attentive and responsive. When she heard about the ordering issue, she came to our table, apologized sincerely, and took our order herself. She even comped a few items, which we truly appreciated. Food: Not quite there yet -The surprise winner was the Volcano Broccoli, flavorful with great texture. Would order again. -Steak Bites were overcooked. We weren't asked how we wanted them cooked. The sauce added a little flavor but didn't save the dish. -Fried Tofu Plate came with mac and cheese, green salad, and white rice. All three were underseasoned and forgettable. The tofu itself was oddly crunchy in a stale kind of way, and the vinegar dipping sauce didn't add much. -Mac and cheese lumpia sounded creative, but it just didn't land, bland and kind of "meh." -The 15-hour pulled pork bao had generous filling, but the pork lacked richness, flavor, and texture issues. The bao was served cold, which didn't help. -Mocktails (we tried both available ones: pineapple, lime, and something else) were okay but not memorable. Super cozy 4x6 feet single stall neutral restroom. The scent diffuser was cranked up way too high for such a tiny room, almost overwhelming. We came specifically for the pork belly, only to learn it's a weekend only item, a bummer, but not a dealbreaker. We're rooting for Hapa Barkada and willing to give it another go, especially to check out the pork belly when it's available. P.Y. Provides toilet seat covers.

The bar and resturant are separate, which isnt a big deal since the place is so small. We went early on a saturday and there were only a few other people there. As we were enjoying our dinner more people started to fill the seats quickly. The online ordering system for the resturant wasent working properly so some items I had seen people post on yelp didn't appear on the online menu to order. The bartender suggested we actually go to the kitchen window and ask, and were glad we did. I wanted to try the poke bombs which weren't showing up on the menu, but sure enough they made them for us and they were good. We started off with that, and shared mochiko chicken, roasted broccoli, tofu with chimichurri and the fries. All were really delicious.

But even then the vibe is still really elevated with the interior feeling clean and giving off an industrial vibe. Everything about the food was beautiful. The Heydey milk bun is so most unbelievably soft brioche-esqe piece of bread and really made the breakfast sandwich. We got it with pork belly and it was beautifully cooked. It was soft and fatty but still held its structure. We did also get a longanisa silog. The longanisa was a little more smoked and cooked than I liked, but the pork sandwich more than made up for the silog. The silog was still good, just may try another protein next time.

Mine was made both df/gf to met my dietary restrictions. The sigig was made with pork belly and had an egg on top. You can choose to upgrade to sun rice which my boyfriend did. He enjoyed it but not sure if he would get again. I got the mango peach hot sauce which had a kick to it with tons of flavor. 10/10 I would love to buy a bottle and use on my eggs in the morning. I ordered the matcha margarita which to be honest I didn't have high hopes as matcha to me tastes only just okay. However, I was impressed with this drink as it tasted like a less sweet margarita which i enjoyed immensely. Other notes, you pay up front and get a number. Some seating in and outside. Also street parking which could be challenging depending on the time of day you are here.
