    50. Bun Bo Hue Spicy Beef Noodle Soup
    Cathy S.

We came here for early dinner on a Friday night and it was not busy at all. Like others said the parking lot is small but we are happy with having a parking spot since all the street parking was taken around this time. You walk in and see the colorful market filled with colorful snacks, drinks, and ready-to-eat buns to go. The waiting bench also had some kids toys and books which were such a nice touch for this family-friendly spot. You scan the QR code at the table for the menu and the staff comes to take your order. It's clearly a family-run restaurant with so many aunties checking on us and bringing us our food. It felt very homey. I got the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup) and I liked the flavor of it and it had just the right amount of spice for me. I've had better in the area but it's comforting on a chillier day. My hubby got the Luc Loc (shaking beef) that came with lots of veggies and a side of rice. He said the beef itself wasn't super flavorful but the fish sauce concoction it came with brought the dish altogether. We got our toddler the Baby Pho from the kid's menu and I was a little disappointed that it was just the plain bowl of pho (and had a very strong cinnamon flavor) and a tad sweet. For $10 I expected maybe a small spring roll or a juice box or something as a side or drink. Did not feel like it was worth it. Next time I'll just get her a regular pho and take the rest home. Oh and the Taro Bubble Tea is just want I expected with sweet and cold taro smoothie base with chewy boba inside. Overall I would come back and supper this local family business again and try the Bun Xeo and other dishes next time. Will probably skip the kids menu though.

My comfort pho place!! I even came here alone once (i never go to restaurants alone) because I was craving it so badly. The meat is always very tender and easy to chew. I've never had the Banh Mis but my boyfriend and parents have, and they seemed pleased. I've gotten the boba twice and it's decent, I more so get it because it is convenient and good enough. Staff is very efficient and kind. Parking directly in front of the restaurant is difficult; I recommend finding a spot along the road right next to it.

Came here on a recommendation after the pumpkin patch. They have a small parking lot, but luckily there was one open spot when we arrived. A very cute spot that can maybe fit around 30 people. I usually get the same thing at every pho place introduced for the first time so I can compare. So of course I go with the pho with meatballs. It came with some sides id never seen offered before. I believe it was shrimp paste & maybe Bamboo, not too sire about that one. The broth was very flavorful with a pretty good size serving of noodles. They were pretty generous with the amount of meatballs. I didnt finish them all. Overall id say it ls top 3 in my pho list, but still cant beat my favorite one. Definitely want to come back to try the soft serve & boba drinks.

Used to come to this place years ago. They've modified it since turning it into a formal eating space vs the grocery/deli with seating that I remembered. Place was packed and menu looked promising. Food was ok. Not terrible but not awesome. Prices decent

On our way to Cannon Beach, we were looking for a nice restaurant with good portable options to take with us on our drive to the coast. Tan Tan popped up as one of those options with their pho and banh mi options - I LOVE Vietnamese food, so I was eager to pop by and give this place a try. We went by on a Tuesday around noon and had a prompt seating when entering. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is tight parking at the front of the restaurant - maybe around 8 or 9 spots. During busy hours, you will definitely need to find parking nearby on the street or on a lot. We were luckily able to find parking really close to the restaurant as someone was pulling out as we were arriving. The restaurant itself is cozy, with about estimated 20-30 seats total. There is nice open natural lighting from the windows and greenery decor spread throughout the restaurant. Service is good. They have an online menu that you can view through their QR code at each table. Ordering is done through a service worker, and we got our food around 10ish minutes. We ordered a variety of options, which I'll review down below: #60 Bún Tân Tân Đặc Biệt ($18.50): A vermicelli bowl with a good assortment of options to try! There was fried egg rolls, pork sausage, shrimp, and more. There is a decent amount of food spread throughout the dish and is very fresh. The dish itself is more sprawled throughout the plate, whereas most vermicelli bowls I've had were more pho-like bowls. I think if could tweak the dish, I would add a bit more vermicelli and less veggies as there is a lot of sauce left over. #40 Phở Tân Tân Đặc Biệt - "Phở Special" - ($18): A decently size bowl of pho that had delicious flavor! You can very clearly taste the star anise flavor in the broth - there is a dash of cinnamon, but the star anise for me was the overall taste. I love a fragrant pho as drinking it fills your senses in a pleasant manner. There is a good even helping of all of the meat cuts, which is great since some pho places like to give you more of the cheaper option. We also ordered some banh mi sandwiches to go ($8 each) - the Special Tan Tan and the Chinese BBQ Pork. The Special Tan Tan was memorable - seeing head cheese on a menu is always interesting. You can definitely taste it and it is decadent with a slight gaminess that some might not enjoy, but I think it makes the banh mi delicious. I am reviewing this based on the food options I've had in the Greater Portland area, and I think that Tan Tan Cafe is one of the better options that I have tried so far. I think if you are in Beaverton and looking for some Vietnamese food, Tan Tan has got you covered! I would revisit if I'm ever back.

Their bao was so fluffy and moist and the filling was perfectly seasoned and also not dry loooved!! I got eveything vermicelli the house special one and it was great. I've had better lemongrass pork at pho oregon but theirs wasn't bad i just didn't taste the marinade as much and the meat wasn't caramelized which is one of the reasons why i love lemongrass pork so a little disappointed there but everything else was phenomenal. My friend got lemon chicken and the chicken was a little dry and I couldn't really taste the marinade on the chicken either. As you can see there aren't much caramelization so smokiness was also missing from the meat. But i would still go back and try their pho and will definitely get their bao again!!

I had a great experience at Tan Tan. The service was good. I got the pho with meatballs and eye round steak. The pho broth was excellent. The meat was good and there was plenty of basil, jalapeños, cilantro, bean sprouts, and a good sliced lime to use. I'd recommend going here for some delicious pho.

Best pho spot in Beaverton!! Once I read the menu on the selections of bahn mi's and about their house made secret chili sauce. Game over!!! Of course I ordered the usual pho and spring rolls. But couldn't leave without ordering the bahn mi's to go and even that homemade chili oil. Fire!!

Went to Tan Tan after seeing their amazing review and. We ordered a beef pho and a shrimp bun. Absolutely loved both dishes. Great presentation and yum flavors. The shrimps were soft in the bun and the flavor was right. Would come back for more bun and pho. The cafe is very clean and has great modern design. Feel very comfortable being in there. Staff were on point with service.

Tan Tan Cafe & Delicatessen is my go-to spot for Vietnamese food in Beaverton, and it never disappoints. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and welcoming, with a comfortable layout that works just as well for a quick lunch as it does for a relaxed sit-down meal. Service is consistently friendly and efficient, and the food comes out hot, fresh, and full of flavor every time. My usual orders rotate between two favorites. The #74 Cơm Bì Sườn Chả is a must. Perfectly grilled pork chop with great char, paired with shredded pork skin and Vietnamese meatloaf, served with rice that soaks up all the flavors. It's hearty, balanced, and incredibly satisfying. When I'm craving soup, I always go for the #40 Phở Tân Tân Đặc Biệt (Phở Special). The broth is rich and comforting, loaded with beef meatballs, eye-round steak, brisket, flank, fatty brisket, soft tendon, and tripe. It's one of those bowls that hits every note and keeps me coming back. A nice bonus is their house sauces. They're so good that they actually sell them, and you can even find them at local grocery markets nearby, which says a lot about how popular they are. If you're looking for consistently great Vietnamese food in Beaverton with solid service and a clean, modern atmosphere, Tan Tan Cafe & Delicatessen is an easy recommendation.

Service: 7/10 they were so kind & funny! Plus the food came out within 15 min. Ambiance: 6/10 decent but nothing to write home about. Food: 7/10 good! Big portions. LOTs of options. Banh mi, pho, are both solid. The sauce with pickled veggies in it was delicious!

What went well.... Everything! We knew this place was gonna be good because of the smell of the place when we first came in. This has been on my "want to go" list for a while and I'm glad we came when we were feeling under the weather. Pho was sooo good and so happy we found a place here with actual good pho. The staff was so attentive and so accommodating to families. They even offered scissors to cut the noodles, which is so so rare to find places that will just understand feeding toddlers. They had some coloring books and crayons in the entrance too to help with the kiddos. We CANNOT wait to go back to this place and try the different items on their menu. Thank you for a wonderful experience! #TanTanFan

For this review, though, we'll stick to the meat (& bread, cheese, veggies and condiments) of the matter. In short: yes. Very much yes! My wife ordered the Aunt Tillie's Club, which she saw online and was the impetus for our visit, whereas I waffled between the tuna melt and the Aunt Tillie's Special (basically a grinder), eventually settling on the latter. Both of us were in heaven: sizeable portions, fresh bread, just enough condiments, and plenty of toppings to go around! My wife thought she was going to have to take a least half of it home, then changed her mind and powered through, leaving nothing behind! We dined just outside the restaurant proper, on one of the patio tables in the "mall", but there is plenty of seating inside (just not enough to accommodate the rush, it seems), plus a quaint little pub at the back that is easy to miss, but adds another layer to an already charming sandwich shop. We were both so impressed by the entire experience, that we are guaranteed to return, likely sooner than later! Very recommended!

Let me start by saying I didn't take pictures. For anyone who reads my reviews, that's a big part…read moreof them: ALL THE PICTURES. Presentation, portions, half eaten, etc... but I didn't. Because the food was so damn good. Look - I'm going to start off by saying I grew up practically on The Hill. Out here, you'll have to Google it (make sure to add 'RI' to the search or you'll get some political BS), but back east, "alls you's have ta say" was those two words and anyone would know you knew your Italian, food and otherwise. There isn't anything on this coast that vaguely compares to The Hill's food, but walking into and biting out of Geraldi's was having a little piece of home. There's this little shop in the old town where the owner knew your voice when you called to order... you'd walk in, and you heard "hey cousin!" whether you were or not, and that's the vibe you get from Geraldi's. The food is much the same - you get something that looks like Nonna was at the range all day with her sauce (it's not gravy - no meat) and you came home looking like you haven't eaten in weeks: "I'm gonna fatten you up before you leave" and you walked out the door with a sub (sandwich, that is - not a submarine) that weighed the same as a newborn. We got three of those babies: a Chicago Beef (seal of approval from the orderer - only 'complaint' was that they had to eat it all in one day because the bread was quote too soggy to make it to lunch the next day - travesty), an Italian sausage (just as delicious when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and a Chicken Parmeroni (I thought somehow even better when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and I could have absolutely gone back the next day if it weren't for A. the leftovers 2/3 of us had and B. the meal planning we'd done for the week. I also grabbed a side of giardiniera because I will get it anytime I see it available and I inhaled it - I need to know if I can by it by the vat instead of the side cups because it too was similar to what I can find at home (about practically nowhere out here) and amazing!! I'm still upset I didn't take pictures though!
