It is really nice inside but I would not recommend this spot to anybody. I will never be dining here again. I feel I wasted my money and Fake pictures of "their food" on the walls and the website?? Very misleading. Very confusing. Eel sauce and spicy mayo = disgusting, inedible, literally lost my appetite after I ate them. Miso soup too. Everything just tasted old and rancid. I literally got sick after eating... my stomach was tore up. Hibachi super mid, no flavor. Dry. Overcooked proteins. Supposedly there's a new menu coming out this Friday? Tuesday at the end of the workday and we're working out where to get dinner. Another colleague mentioned Kuchi and so we piled into my rental car to head over, arriving just after 5pm. Three solid eaters worked hard to knock Kuchi on its side today - one who runs ten miles a day, another who does recreational weight lifting and yours truly. The layout and display of sushi at Kuchi is attractive. Super easy raw fish to load up on plates including oysters, shrimp, nigiri rolls, maki rolls and so much more. And that's just the sushi area. This grand opening buffet is reasonably priced for the demographic there. This restaurant use to another restaurant and reopen as buffet restaurants. The lunch is cheaper but the dinner has lobster to offer. The restaurant sushi section is exquisite. The sushi was set on the dry ice and the roll has good selection. The hot deli has blue crab and typical Chinese style buffet dishes. I like the tiny dim sum sections. If you bring kid, there is a whole section with kid favorites near the wall. I stopped by when I was in Tampa because of the name and trust me. Nothing to fishy and funky coming out of this place. Its a ayce for about $30. They have a huge menu to choose from that reminded me of cheesecake factory. It's like tapas. Small plates from hibachi to soups to made to order sushi rolls to even raw oysters on the half shell. Everything was fresh and made to order when you place your order in through your server. The presentation on the sushi boat was Instagram worthy and everything we ordered came out in small portions so we got to try alot of items. Not sure why this place was dead on a Friday night but our server was really helpful with the menu and service was excellent. This is definitely a gem! Duck on an all you can eat menu is definitely one of the best deals that you could get. The food was fantastic. The rice was smoky and not overcooked or undercooked. This is our second time going since they re-opened as Kuchi AYCE. The first time we came after the renovation, the AYCE was set out like a typical buffet and the sushi was pre-made. Everything was mediocre at best. However, they have finished the renovation and now they have a wonderful menu of food and an extensive sushi menu as well. We decided to get the AYCE under the new menu and what a vast improvement. The food is all made to order and very fresh now. The sushi menu is also extensive. Highly recommend. read more

Disappointed in this buffet. It had so much potential if it kept the food for self serve. This buffet is no longer doing it and you have to order for your food. It was not like this originally. The first time I came here, the food was presented so well on the counter with smoke and ice. Now we sit here and wait for 30+ min to get our food, a that is just for one order. ...well...it was my first time there and it's after renovations...spacious, clean, but a strange atmosphere (for me)...the food looks good but I keep in mind...I eat with my eyes first. I enjoyed an array of items- sushi, kimshi, cellophane noodles, surimi ( fake lobster) salad, veggie rolls, and freshly made apple pie. The hostess was seemingly polite in asking if all was ok...but it seemed the minute we stopped eating or going for more food as we sat to allow our food to settle, the hostess was quick with handing us the bill...not asking if we wanted to be charged together or separate. I don't find that as good customer service for any business. I have no comparison of what it looked like before renovations yet it is a well put together business. I would recommend Kuchi's to others being their experience will not necessarily be mine. read more

Don't believe the pictures you see from 4 months ago from the date of my review. We were there a month and a half ago and the place looks nothing like it does in the photos. It is not a self serve buffet, you order from the menu buffet style. There was a photo that showed the buffet prices, that is also NOT available now. For myself and 2 children, my bill came out to $101. We decided to give it a try since we were already there even though it was NOTHING like pictures and NOTHING like how people described just a couple months prior. The price we paid is not worth it, that is my honest review. Charging 2 kids the same price as adults is insane, I would not be coming back. Amazing food and service! We were visiting from CA and were craving hibachi. Hands down best hibachi I ever had, I loved the noodles. We had got a surf and turf type special (everything but the kitchen sink). The pricing alone was very reasonable. We came in the month of December and they decorated it so nice for the holidays. We had a party of 3 so we set with other people but the chef made sure to interact with everyone and kept it fun and exciting. This was the very first sushi place I ate at here in Florida/Tampa area. I found it on yelp. Reviews were great so I decided to try it. I didn't realize that they closed for a bit between lunch and dinner. Fortunately I arrived only a couple of minutes prior to them opening for dinner (5pm). They also have Hibachi but I specifically went for sushi. Despite it getting crowded quickly, service was prompt and the servers were very kind. I ordered the sashimi dinner which had an assortment of sashimi and also included a salad and soup. Prices are very reasonable as well. Everything was delicious and the presentation was great! I was later notified on yelp that they used my photo for their profile which made me smile. I'm glad this place is very close to where I live and I can and will be coming to eat here often. I will definitely be trying their hibachi as well. The parking is ample btw! Definitely recommend Kuchi Sushi if you're in the area! :) read more
