One of my favorite sushi spots! I've been coming to Osaka for years and it never disappoints. I started with the crab rangoons (so crispy and golden with the sweetest dipping sauce -- literally can't stop eating them). Then the shrimp tempura roll with eel sauce... the crunch + that sweet glaze combo is everything. And the salmon + yellowtail sashimi? So fresh, so buttery, melt-in-your-mouth good every single time. Warm sake on the side because we're romanticizing dinner, obviously. It's cozy, it's cute, it's consistently good, and it's one of those places I'll always come back to. Although we were given quick service, it wasn't necessarily a pleasant one. To start off, we ordered some Gabi. The good thing about it was that it was not spicy. I cannot tolerate spice, and a lot of Japanese places that I have previously gone to put so much heat on it that I find it unpleasant. Although the seasoning was good, the portions weren't. The first one that I grabbed was just a bone surrounded by fat. There was not a piece of it that I could chew and swallow. Then the server kept coming by the area every ten seconds to check on everything but when I asked for yum yum sauce, he never came with it. I honestly think he dropped it off to the wrong table. And the Mexican roll that I ordered didn't taste fresh. Both rolls I ordered seemed so bland. Other places I have been to have tasted more flavorful. Don't think I would return. read more

Stopped in here today with the wife. Staff seated us immediately for lunch. Happy hour prices were in effect and I settled on the sashimi lunch which was $13.99 and included a ginger dressing salad, Miso soup, six pieces of sashimi and a roll. We also ordered the Hot Jasmine Tea. The dining room was beautiful and well decorated. The food was excellent. The portion size was perfect. We determined that we now have a new sushi place and are looking forward to coming back again. All the ingredients were fresh with exactly the proper amount of rice on the roll. Wow, I just recently moved from the northeast to Florida and one thing I have missed more than anything is good sushi. I have tried a BUNCH of top rated spots that frankly are so overrated. For me, the sushi rolls here were comparable to the quality and taste of northeast sushi. Absolutely delicious!! Complex and clean flavors that left me savoring. My favorite was the godzilla roll. The yummy sauce is a perfect combination with any roll as it is not too overwhelming like spicy mayo but adds a delicate flavor to the roll. My ONE critique is to not package wasabi on top of ginger. Absolutely delicious sushi and nice atmosphere! I totally jived with this place. First time experience was a hit, my bf and I only waited about 5 min before being seated despite it being pretty busy. The staff was friendly and attentive, and our server was on point with everything, including recommendations on the menu. Hot sake a must! For appetizer I tried the giant tuna rolls, which looks like a pouch. (2 per order) Inside is avocado, crunchies and spicy crab meat wrapped in raw ahi tuna, topped with caviar and wasabi sauce. While it was awkward at first to figure out how to bite into it, I was surprised to find at how soft the tuna was and didn't let the insides fall out. Perfect blend of crunch and tuna, I added some Sriracha to give it a bit more kick. Next we ordered the udon soup, bbq short ribs, octopus salad, the Out of control roll, Bonzai roll, and assorted sashimi pieces (personal faves are tuna, eel and escolar). Sooooo good! Lots of flavor, the textures of the fish with the rice blended together perfectly and everything was done fresh. Mine had so much fish, I ordered my roll with less rice and was phenomenal. 3 types of fish inside, 3 types on the outside! Can never go wrong with a little extra eel sauce on the side. We went out for an end of year family celebration. Our first choice was Kobe, as we hadn't been there in a while. They were booked solid. We have an Osaka Express near our house that we like, so when we saw the sign for Osaka Sushi & Grill we decided to try it! We all loved it!! First, the atmosphere was very welcoming! Our server was exceptionally friendly and very attentive! My daughters and I ordered the Sushi Combo 2 with the spicy salmon, spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail. My son orders the chicken hibachi and my husband the chicken and steak hibachi! All our meals came is a soups and salad! We also ordered Krab Rangoon and edamame. The Rangoon were delicious!! The edamame could have used more salt, but overall good. The sushi was delicious and very flavorful and the hibachi meals were a hit. My husband said "this is better than Kobe! We went for the happy hour rolls. Loved what we got! The food was perfect and the service amazing.

I haven't been sushi hunting in a while so Id thought Id try this place. The interior is dark mocha/black area with lots of lights and some Asian lanterns and such. On the left is the sushi bar and in front is the "regular" bar with booths and tables spread throughout. Whats cool is that they have regular US songs instead of generic Asian instrumental muzak. One nice thing about the sushi bar area is that the the chairs are normal height and the bar is at the same height as the tables. I'm not a big high top fan and bar tops with barely any space. The service was prompt and courteous. There were only a handful of patrons since it was Sunday evening. I ordered Spicy Tuna roll, White Hot roll, and Out of control roll and a coke. The fish was fresh and there was a good amount of it. The presentation was really nice. There are saucy rolls, which is common in USA sushi joints. The only real negatives was that the two special rolls ($12-WH and $14-OOC) tasted somewhat similar. When I read over the menu, I felt that there was a bit more overlap in ingredients than I'm used to. They were solid but I wasn't blown away like I am especially considering the cost. Ever since Takara closed down in New Tampa a few years ago and Kaisen in Carrolwood, I've been a sushi nomad, but I haven't settled down with a new sushi place yet. Another server hung with other staff with the mask hanging from her ear. Working full time myself, I get being over the mask however this is a deal breaker. If you aren't responsible at work. My friend enjoyed the steak hibachi. The friend enjoyed it and got a clear soup as well. The inside and front of the restaurant is dated. The noise level can get loud if the restaurant is crowded.
