Came back here this past Sunday, & of course I had to have their sushi burger. Online, I didn't spot the menu with it, but it's the first page on the menu when you come in. This place is stylish! And the service is great. Cal was my server this time. I ordered the salmon sushi burger with sweet potato fries and it was mouth watering. I had a half of it bc it was so filling. Then I got home and I wanted the rest of it and it was even better. My husband had the tempura cheesecake this time. I had a few bites and it was YUMMY!! Love the super cherry on top!! Dined in for the first time and these are my thoughts in a nutshell. One thing for sure is that Kelp will have a beautifully presented dish. Their marketing team clearly put some effort into it the actual menu booklet because it's really nice. I wasn't really impressed with the sushi I ordered. It may have just been the rolls I ordered. The tuna nachos however, were fantastic and I would order them again. The service was also exceptional. The rolls are also on the pricier side compared to other sushi in the Tampa Bay Area. I would try Kelp again for a redemption opportunity. read more

I thought the food here was really good! Took my dad and step mom as it was all of our first time and we were impressed with the food. We all picked different sushi plates and my favorite from the bunch was the ribeye campfire. Soo good. I got the watermelon mint mocktail and that was really refreshing. I highly recommend this place but also recommend reservations during peak hours. We didn't have one but luckily we beat another party and got seated right away. We noticed the party after us were still waiting almost up until we left. The restaurant is really nice with warm lighting to set the mood for evening time. Service was great and our waitress was attentive. It's only 5 minutes from our house, so this place will be my go to sushi place. read more

I came across this restaurant from Tik Tok and I'm sure glad I did! We got it to go so I can't even talk to you about their service because I wouldn't know: the basic sushi rolls are exactly just that; basic. The two specialty rolls we got were yummy. I have tried the sushi burrito, the sushi burger and the inception roll. My all time favorites are the inception roll and the sushi burger. I love that the sushi burger is so much food, you'll get full. It comes with sweet potato fries and the 'burger' is a good size in my opinion. This was a great addition to their menu. The customer service here is great, this is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in that area. Definitely be sure to check them out. They have options for everyone. read more

It's a unique find in Tampa! One of the best option is the sushi burritos where you can make your own. The maki and rolls are both fresh and delicate. Services have always been top notch each time I've been here. We always prefer the booth as they provide a nice quieter cove to have conversations. The best value are the combo options and they dine skim on the size. A nice choice in the northern side of Tampa area. read more

This is a wonderful sushi place! If you haven't tried it yet you should! In ordered the sin city roll and it was soooo good! In loved everything about it and felt the portion was just right. We got krab rangoons and they were served warm and krispy, to perfection! The yasobi tasted like a touch of Christmas to me! I'm not sure what flavor I was noticing but it was good. Savory. Really solid place for sushi and Japanese food in the Westchase area! Love the classy ambiance and service is fast and the servers are super friendly and accommodating! The food was very good, and I think the sushi was very creative. It wasn't necessarily the most typical things that you'd see on the menu. The sushi burger was by far the best deal and the best tasting dish! The burger is a great deal, and the fries are very sugary. The fries were coated in sugar, and they didn't match the taste of the burger. The service was okay, but the waiter was rushing us to leave a little. We did come a little after dinner rush hour, but it wasn't anywhere near closing. The restaurant booths were dirty, but I also had mosquitos biting me inside of the restaurant. It was a little off putting, but I did enjoy the food a lot. read more

I swear every time I visit they lose 1 star. Today they lose yet another! Came in on my lunch break for their $10 lunch combo which includes 2 classic rolls and option of soup or salad. First they didn't have the cucumber as an option to be more keto as a sub for rice as I've gotten before then they didn't have the Tampa roll on the menu anymore. Actually the menu didn't even have the $10 lunch special, we had to actually ask. We were seated immediately and greeted immediately for our drink and food orders. I ordered the Mexican and Florida rolls with salad. My coworker ordered the Mexican and California rolls with soup. I also asked for a side of spicy Mayo. Other coworker got the Mexican and Philadelphia roll with salad. The salads took a bit of time to arrive and the coworker that ordered the soup didn't get her soup! They brought a salad. Sigh! The rolls took longer to come out and not once while we were waiting did the waiter come by to check on our drinks or us. Rolls were delivered by another staff member with of course no spicy Mayo. Asked for it to which she said ok and disappeared. Let me point out that the guy that took our order originally was merely standing in the back just looking around. He walked past our table and as he passed my coworker got his attention seeking the spicy Mayo to which he said ok and kept walking past us. The lady that brought our food finally brought the Mayo and I could eat. The food was good. Fresh and delicious. However as usual the service SUCKED!! I'm so fed up with the lack of service. Lunch took us over an hour and a half because of this. read more

Very cool quaint sushi spot. It is very chill and the decor is nice. We came here on a Sunday evening and were seated right away. It was not crowded but the service was extremelyyyyy slow. I assume they maybe only had 1-2 waitresses. The specialty rolls in my opinion are pricey at about $17-20 / roll. They were really good but I've had better for less. We also got the Ginger salad which was very dry. We had asked for additional dressing and added another kind of dressing bc it was bland. Delivery service for dinner was an epic fail. We ordered 5 rolls and 4 bowls for it come with no soy sauce, no chopsticks and no napkins. We had to run to Target to get condiments before eating. When you spend over $170 these items should be automatic. Kelp won't see me again anytime soon . The food was good though. read more

I'll preface that I love Kelp and think they make awesome sushi. This location, however, is not the best. They have two in Tampa and the south Tampa location is significantly better. While this location has a lot of space to sit, the atmosphere was dead and borderline sad. I went around dinner time thinking it would be packed and I was the only one there. In terms of food, it was just ok. It's hard to describe but the sushi didn't taste fresh. It wasn't bad or inedible in any way. It just didn't taste great. The point of comparison I have is their other location in South Tampa. At that location, the sushi always tastes fresh and delicious. I recommend Kelp, just not this location. read more

Kelp sushi is famous on their happy hour items. Recently they have the poke specials. We decided to try their poke. We got the build you own poke. The only one thing they cannot compare to most build your own poke is because the limit your add in for a limit and same for the topping. Most place limit your protein with unlimited add a n and topping. With that business model, they already behind. One thing for sure they fish is bouncing and fresh. read more

This place is ok, but honestly some meals have been pretty good and others bad. I ordered a sushi burrito and did not enjoy the flavors. I also ordered fried spring rolls and they were deep fried but still cold in the inside. The Florida roll and the crab Rangoon were good, but not amazing. I probably would not go back. read more

I really enjoyed my lunch here. I went with one of their lunch specials, the Tokyo Combo, which was two classic rolls with miso soup or ginger salad for $13.00. Sometimes I feel like these deals actually skimp on the number of pieces or the amount of fish in each roll - but not here! I ordered the Negihama Roll which was hamachi, cucumber, and tempura onion, and the Spicy Tuna Roll which was spicy tuna, cucumber, and tempura flakes. The spicy tuna roll was delicious, but the negihama roll was amazing, and I will never be able to NOT have this roll anytime I visit. They also get bonus points for having the best salad of any sushi place I have been to. I will say I'm not a huge fan of their metal chopsticks, but that was the only negative. Service was friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was clean and modern, and I can't wait to go back to try more things on their menu. read more

I called to do a take out order. I was put on hold by the staff while I was already driving to the business to pick up my order that I wanted to place. It takes me 15-20 minutes to drive over there, meanwhile I'm still on hold the entire time I drive over there. I arrive at the business thinking maybe the place could be busy. Not only was the place almost empty, but I walk in on the staff just standing there doing nothing. They were able to take my order no problem when I walked in. It would have been nice if they didn't forget I was on hold so I didn't have to wait an extra 15 minutes to get my food. I don't appreciate my time being wasted. read more

To Go Order: Was ready when I came in. The parking lot is kinda of small for the businesses in the plaza. Insider has a lot of booths. My food was ready for the time I set it for. Properly sealed and package. The spicy tuna was meh it was enough to get rid of my craving. The sushi burrito was good but too small. We decided to stop for sushi after an event at my kids school. My children had been several times but this was my first visit. They seriously need to improve the way their managers treat guests. The behavior I experienced was unprofessional, disappointing, and completely unacceptable. I won't be returning to this location. The way the managers interact with paying customers is honestly disgusting. They clearly lack proper training on how to communicate respectfully and provide even basic customer service. Anyone paying for food or any service deserves to be treated with courtesy, and this place failed badly. read more

We came here on a Friday evening around 6 pm. They still had their happy hour until 7 which was a plus! They have a lot of options sushi wise and other Asian dishes that are hot. For their happy hour they have deals like buy one specialty roll get the 2nd for $8 so that's what I decided to get. I got the two most popular rolls the scarlet witch and the volcano roll. Both were delicious and filling. They also had mocktails and I got the cucumber basil one which was good too! The inside is huge and they have outdoor seating too. I was super excited to try Kelp tonight - the Waters location. I loved the menús with the pictures - super helpful which reminded me of Europe. My sushi roll was good but was let down a bit. The roll kept falling apart and the chop-sticks were no help. Fancy looking chopa but sluppery. The old are fine but get it...you want a nice vibe. I ordered a miso soup and was barely warm. They brought me a new warm one but it was the same. Who likes barely warm miso?- yuck!! I also tried the watermellin mojito - terrible - don't recommend. I Waited almost an hour for my waiter to get the bill. The hostess saw me frustrated and she cashed me out instead. Overall I was super disappointed - guess HotTuna in Hillsborough Avenue is hard to beat! Maybe I'll try the south Tampa location. read more

Take out for dinner with my family visiting. We got a few different things to share including three specialty rolls, a chicken donburi bowl, and some fried rice. The sushi was good, better than average for Tampa. The rolls were fun. The eight wonders roll was basically eight different types of fish each on top of a piece of california roll. One of the other rolls was topped with fried beet flakes. $85 for everything after tax fed four with a little left over. I'd eat here again. read more

This is an awesome place to go in the Town & Country area. Lots of great options! I got the seafood bowl and it did not disappoint. We reserved the private room for a meeting and everything everyone else got looked great too. The cucumber saki tini was refreshing! I would highly recommend it. Next door they are opening an Asian dessert place as well so if you are into the shaved ice and sweetened condensed milk type desserts then check it out! I walked in and the store was nearly empty, with only one customer ahead of me who was also a first-time customer just like me and was asking the guy questions about their sauces and etc. After a couple minutes of me waiting, another couple walked in behind me and that's when a woman came out of the kitchen to help with the line. Despite there barely being customers, the woman rushed through the interaction and was rushing me. When I wanted to ask questions (y'know to make sure I make a bowl that's actually edible), she had an attitude as if I was a bother. Any word I spoke was met with "what else. what else. what else." I was genuinely confused because obviously business is slow if they have to give a deal for a free can of soda if someone orders a bowl after 5pm. You need customers. Just from the way she handled me, it made me uncomfortable and no longer interested in trying out anything they had to offer. I ended up leaving without anything from there and went a little further down to "The Dough Show" for my lunch break and the service (and food) was excellent.

Plenty of parking along the roadways, and in the nearby parking lots for the neighboring Water Works (city park) and Armature Works (food hall and social venue). They had valet for years but I'm not sure they still offer the service. The venue is huge... large red, brick building with outdoor sitting and a bar but they also have outdoor art to be impressed, a pond with fish for kids to admire, overlooking the Hillsborough River and lovely gardens (and all of it is maintained impeccable). The interior is industrial and a bit masculine but the views outside and more exhibits of art balance the atmosphere. Love the exposed kitchen and the glass wine enclosure under the stairs. The menu, as it was explained to me, was inspired by the indians that inhabited this area originally. I've been here numerous times but even with this latest visit, all my visits have been limited to lunch. Some of the dishes I have truly enjoyed: NATIVE CHILI: Not the typical ingredients but excellent nonetheless... rather than just beef and bean (as I am used to normally), this chili had alligator, boar, venison, duck, ground chuck and cranberry beans. CLASSIC BURGER: Ulele offers so many delicious dishes but sometimes a simple player is the way to go and the burger here does not disappoint... great balance of meat to cheddar cheese and those pickles are on-point.
