Vibe: chic but welcoming Service: impeccable Food: next-level Top tip: just tell your waitstaff what kind of evening you want, any dietary needs, and then follow their advice! The menu is built to be an experience, not mere sustenance. And some things that sound maybe not great are, in fact, amazing. (Celery Root, looking at you) Drinks are great - lots of choices, and great wine options Noise level is the only reason this didn't get a 5. The decor is gorgeous and the ambiance on point, but it gets really loud.

We had such an incredible sister dinner at Bardea Food & Wine! The food was absolutely outstanding--each dish beautifully presented and clearly a true labor of love. The service was just as wonderful, making the evening one to remember. Thank you for the amazing experience and memories! This may have been one of the best meals we've had. The presentation and attention to detail with the food was outstanding.

What an exquisite dining experience. The food is a fantastic place for fine dining and if you're a foodie. No dish is what you think it will look like. And the taste is indescribable. The ambiance is very lovely dim lighting and very swanky. The service is very upscale, Susan was our server, and she was very attentive and gave great recommendations. I can't wait to go back and see their next selection of dishes. My fav were, the salmon, scallops, gem salad, and ode to chocolate.

BLOWN AWAY!! I primarily picked Bardea because of the interesting menu options and for being on the Inkind network. Everything we ordered was PHENOMENAL! Such an amazing demonstration of culinary creativity, presentation, and most importantly--flavor. While I focused on the fusion part of menu, it was nice that they had more traditional Italian options for those who want something more familiar (e.g. Pizza / Lasagna / Pasta). Again, all the food was amazing but by far my two favorites were the Chorizo Empanadas and the Diver Scallops (texture was unreal) Service was a bit overly attentive but overall good.

Fantastic in all aspects. I need to get Yelp to add more stars so I can rate this above the hundreds of restaurant I've rated so far. Need more information, read on. We tried 5 small plates plus some beverages. Overall great that they obtain many ingredients from local Delaware Valley companies, and they make their own limoncello! We tried a calamansi plane (their take on a paper plane) and a limoncello spritz - both excellent (and I also make my own limoncello and the related spritz - so I compared to my own!). We had the sparkling water - spot on. For food, we tried: - king salmon - eaten on salmon skin chips with an amazing complex sauce - broccoli di ciccio - most delicious broccoli I've ever had (there I said something positive about broccoli!); another amazing sauce - diver scallop - another complex sauce of deliciousness - iberico pork - tender, delicious, and, what, another great sauce! - washugyu tri-tip - tender, a marvelous sauce; and the accompanying cabbage was the best I've ever had (and I am not a cabbage fan - this was delicious) - halibut - you guessed it, best halibut ever with an amazing sauce The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. You can find local garage parking, street parking or use their valet parking option ($20). It is pricey BUT the food is subtle, complex and outright amazing. We were planning our return trip before we departed (and it's a 35-40 minute drive for us)!

Food was delicious! Loved the hokkaido scallop and eggplant parm for apps. The scallops had a nice kick with the chilli and the whipped ricotta with tomatoes made all the flavors come together. The picanha steak came with two other items. The maitake mushroom was a bit on the salty side, the beef cheek had good flavor along with the sunchoke ponzu demi. Affogato was a strong but the tonka bean gelato paired nicely with it. Ambiance was nice with the one mural wall of a tree with lights. Server was attentive but food did take a bit to come out. It wasn't too busy when we got there at 5pm when they opened but it did fill up quickly. The menu can be on the pricey side for some items.

Found this little gem! We are all visiting from Los Angeles and Oklahoma for a wedding. Our server was Susan and she was fun, attentive and just all around happy! The food was so fresh and tasty!! She went out of her way to help Johanna get a vegan dish. Prices are so reasonable and the plates shareable. The smoky old fashioned was great!! This place made our trip worth while! Would definitely go back!

When I was searching for good food in Delaware, this spot always came up. I stopped in before heading to a show down the street. Thankfully a seat opened up at the bar and I was able to partake in their happy hour. Everything was great. The 24 carrot drink was refreshing with just the right amount of smokiness from the mezcal. As for food I grabbed some oysters, bao buns, and the meatballs. It was the perfect amount of food before the show. If I ever find myself back in Delaware, I'd revisit this spot.

Yes, I feel quite ashamed it's taken me this long to get to Bardea but I'm so happy I finally did it! Arriving as soon as they opened at 5pm, my sister and I were able to get parking and had first dibs on a table. The space is beautiful! Bright and cozy during the day then dark and moody once the sun goes down. Our server Jacob gave us the lay of land explaining the tapas style menu. We selected the calamari (def recommend), bbq ribs ( amazing sauces) eggplant parmigiana (so good and tender) and the mushrooms (a sleeper !) Sis got the working girl cocktail which is spicy and I chose the cocktail with fruit and sour combo. Dessert we took to go: small gelato assortment. Jacob and the kitchen staff lovingly packed it with ice for me. Such a great meal all around. If in DE it is a must try!

My husband and I had a great dinner at Bardea this past Saturday when we were in Wilmington for the day. Sometimes a restaurant just surprises you with good it is, and Bardea did that! Since they focus on smaller plates that they recommend you share, we were able to try a few of their dishes: the burrata pop tart (with sweet onion-fennel jam); the ricotta gnocchi (with tomato and shiso); the torched king salmon with lychee-coconut, passionfruit, and fresh wasabi); the diver scallop (with green curry, lemongrass, scallop XO); the little gem salad (with sunflower seed crumble and ponzu vinaigrette); and the tagliatelle (with octopus bolognese, n'duja, and lemon). We didn't order any dishes from the "Feed the Table" section of the menu or a pizza, so our dishes were all small which allowed us to try a lot. Everything was delicious. I know the burrata pop tart is a big dish for them, but I probably liked it least (it was still delicious but something I really only want one bite of, not a whole plate of). The other dishes were all fantastic, and I'd eat them all again right now. Really creative and delicious food overall. The service was also great. Our server was lovely, helpful, and friendly; she definitely made our experience an even better one. They have a great wine list (although to have so many orange and skin contact wines by the bottle but none by the glass?! I was a little sad), so we had a few glasses of wine and some cocktails, too. All great. I had a Lombardian white wine, a Vermentino, and "The Working Girl" (reposado tequila, passionfruit, aji amarillo, and lemon). The cocktail was to die for - just the right amount of heat and sweet. Spicy drinks can go so wrong - but not at Bardea! My husband enjoyed their Black Manhattan and their smoked Old Fashioned, too. The restaurant is beautiful and lively - a great atmosphere. It was packed on Saturday night when we were there, so I definitely, highly recommend you make a reservation! But it's worth it. A really great meal, from start to finish, from drinks to food to service. I left really impressed and hoping for a chance to visit again soon!

    Ham & Cheese Croquettes

Food was absolutely delicious. We got the ham& cheese croquette, burrata poptart, and the small plate of the fusilloni to share. Fusilloni had perfectly el dente pasta. This was enough food for two people. Everything was so tasty. Presentations of the dishes were suburb. Service was great. Hostess was so sweet and our waiter was fast, made a great wine rec, and attentive. Ambiance was nice and laid back. Fancy but not too formal. Prices were acceptable for the service and food we received.

Bardea Food & Drink absolutely lives up to the hype. As a NY transplant living in Delaware for 20+ years, it's amazing to have a restaurant of this caliber right here--no tolls or train fare needed! We went on a Saturday night. Arrived at 5 PM for a window seat, and by 6 PM, the dining room and bar were completely packed. The atmosphere is trendy and stylish, but totally inviting. This is pure comfort food, elevated to the next level. Here's everything we tried: Chicken Parm Bao Buns - Soft, fluffy buns stuffed with crispy chicken parm, gooey cheese, and vodka sauce. Basically an Italian twist on a bao, and it works. Crab Tacos - Light, crispy, and loaded with crab inside a tempura-fried squash blossom. Awesome presentation. Ravioli - Sweet and savory mix with persimmon, creamy cheese, and pecans. Unexpected but really good. Linguine - Perfectly cooked pasta in a scallop-based sauce with rock shrimp and caviar. Rich but not heavy. Iberico Pork - Super tender with a crispy crust. Juicy, flavorful, great sauce. Working Girl Cocktail - Smooth tequila with passion fruit and a little spice. Desserts were just as solid: Sticky Toffee Pudding - Soft, rich, and tabled poured koji toffee sauce. Olive Oil Cake - Rich, moist, and topped with pistachios and olive oil whipped cream, with another tableside pour of guava sauce. Awesome. Service was on point too. Our server, Emily, was friendly, knew the menu inside out, and paced everything perfectly. Bardea deserves all its accolades. If you haven't been, make a reservation and go. You won't regret it. I made a reservation for 2 for bar seating since no tables were available for that time. Is the full menu available at the bar?

Hello! Yes I have sat there many of times and you will be able to order from the full menu! Enjoy!

In your answer to a previous question, you note that there is outdoor seating, by reservation only. But it also seems like you don't take reservations for one person. Does that mean that it's not possible for a solo diner to sit outside?

I thought i saw duck on the menu. Now i don't see it. Is it only served on certain nights of the week?

Sorry we rotate our menu. The Whole Rohan duck was on for about 3 months. But we have a lot of other stuff that’s really awesome. All the bets, Scott

What's the outdoor seating situation like at Bardea?

Yes we have outside seating for reservations only.

Site lists that there's a happy hour but I can't find the menu for that. Can someone advise what the happy hour is, if any?

We arrived at about 5:30 in the afternoon and it was already crowded. We had to park a couple blocks away, but the weather was nice and cool, so we didn't mind. There was no cover charge, despite a band playing. The band was called The Jimmies, and they played music from the 80s (A Flock Of Seagulls, Billy Idol, Springsteen, Prince, etc.). Although I didn't eat, I noticed they had food for sale (burgers, hot dogs, chicken, etc.). An extensive craft beer selection both on tap and in cans was also offered. I had the Dale's Pale Ale from Oskar Blues brewery and the Hazy-O from Dogfish Head brewery. Both were pretty good. The place was pretty big with lots of tables. In the center were people playing corn hole. There was a sand area for kids to play (beach theme?). Once the sun went down, lights hanging from rope above us were turned on, creating a nice ambiance. For a city that doesn't have much (this came from people who live there, not me), this was a nice way to spend a Saturday night.
