This place used to be Sake Asian. I have not been here in years only because Long Island has expanded its restaurant scene and there are so many more choices now. Also it's an AYCE aka All You Can Eat spot! So this past week I've been working nights and I needed to grab something to eat really quick and this was close on my route, so glad that I stopped in. The staff were extremely friendly. And very helpful in helping me order. Buiuuuut here is the big thing, they give amazing cash discounts!! Usually when you get a cash discount it's like 3%, no not these guys. The items are anywhere from 30% to 50% off so you gotta try it. I've gotten sushi rolls & appetizers & Hibachi for my son. My favorite has been the short ribs. Food was delicious & prices unbeatable! 6-13-2026

Shopping nearby left us a bit hungry so we went to Kumo Sushi which was a few doors down. They have AYCE as well as a la carte. We went a la carte since it was a late lunch. My daughter and I did the rolls lunch specials and my husband had the pineapple chicken fried rice. She took a bite into her California roll and said it was missing something. Cucumbers! She likes her food to be proportional so the avocado was a little overpowering. My sweet potato tempura had good crunch and the salmon mango roll was tasty. The pineapple chicken fried rice was satisfying. There is table and booth seating as well as a full service bar. Service was attentive and efficient. May be worth a try if you live in the neighborhood.

The food was so good and the service was really quick. I enjoyed the Godzilla role and the edamame. It's very clean in here. The stuffed Oreos are the bomb.com.

When I think of hibachi, I think of Benihana, which I feel is not really authentic Japanese but Americanized food. Kind of like Panda Express for Chinese food. But I trust this friend so we went with them. My wife and my wedding anniversary was coming up so we told them and they prepared a special setting with rose petals and also a special dessert. So nice!! Omakase means to leave it up to the chef on what to eat and the chef's selections were amazing! Lobster, sweet shrimp, Uni, A5 wagyu, fatty tuna and other delicious selections. We also had a sake they recommended, which went so well with the food. The complimentary dessert was probably my favorite. All in all, a great meal. We just had omakase at Inatome recently and if i had to pick the best, I would probably say Inatome but it is very close. Sasa is much easier to get to so if you don't want to drive to Valley Stream, go to Sasa. TIP: make sure you make reservations in advance because they have to procure the seafood for the omakase.

I should have known when I saw the place was empty on a Friday night. We were one of three tables occupied. I had the sweet heart roll. It look pretty. But had little flavor. On a positive note, service was good, the salad dressing was tasty, and the shrimp were large and fresh.

Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday from 4pm to 7:30pm and is served at the bar only. We were lucky to arrive early since we were told by several people that it gets very busy. We ordered a little bit of everything. For drinks, we tried multiple Komodo Dragon and Mango Madness cocktails, which were $7 each during happy hour. We also ordered several happy hour appetizers and rolls, including the pork gyoza, popcorn chicken, chicken tempura roll, California roll, and American Dream roll. Everything tasted great, the presentation was nice, and the customer service was excellent. I ordered a Yuzu Mule but didn't care for the flavor. The bartender was very accommodating and happily switched it out for another drink, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was welcoming, with dim lighting and beautiful wood decor. We really enjoyed our outing and plan to come back again to try more from the menu.

The decor was beautiful; I really liked the consistent use of their logo, proudly illuminated at all the tables, which gave the space a sophisticated appearance. Even the menus were nicely done. I found myself gazing at the pictures instead of picking out my meal. To start we ordered the Japanese Clear Soup and the King's Treasure Roll. Both starters were delicious. The soup was served hot, lightly seasoned, and it really felt like comfort in a bowl. The treasure roll was good; we just had a hard time trying to pick it up with the chopsticks, as it was very slippery. With a little patience, we managed to get it. For beverages, we went with the Blueberry Lemonade and Virgin Mojito. Although both were decent, they were a little underwhelming and could've used more flavor. Next time, I might just order the Pineapple or Mango Virgin Mojito to see if it's any better. Our Entrees were great. My husband ordered the Spicy Crabmeat Crusted Filet Mignon, and he demolished it. I chose to go with two specialty rolls, The American Dream Roll and Rock N Roll, both fantastic. For dessert, we chose the Matcha Cheesecake and the 3 Flavor Tempura Ice Cream (vanilla, chocolate, and green tea). The cheesecake itself didn't have a strong Matcha taste, but that matcha ice cream was all the way IT! I could've had a bowl of that and been very satisfied. Really, their ice cream game is solid, so good! Lastly, our server Nicole was the cherry on top. She was so welcoming and attentive, offering suggestions, and providing descriptions of the menu items, she never made us feel bad for asking "What's That". All in all, we had an awesome experience at Takumi and look forward to visiting again.

All the ingredients tasted very fresh, and I was also happy to see it opening til late since we were coming back from a roadtrip. They also have a wide selection of yummy special rolls which you can't beat for the price, but do be warned, they are more filling in case you're trying to fill up on a lot of sushi. Service was quick, and servers frequently came by to ask what we wanted to order (which they either took the order on a notepad or via their iPad). There was also no wait when we got there, and it was a nice mid-higher tier sushi spot with a few larger groups still there close to closing time. I loved that they didn't fill up too much rice on the sushi rolls. It was also a sweet surprise that the green tea and red bean ice cream, which was fairly creamy by surprise, also paired nicely with my fried Oreos. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely come back!

The chef was going back and forth between two grills, cooking portions of the meal on each and then sharing food across the grills. Because he was trying to manage both tables, the food suffered--the eggs were burnt, and everything felt poorly coordinated. The hibachi experience itself also lacked the energy, interaction, and entertainment you expect when choosing hibachi. Even the guests at the table next to us commented at the end of the meal about how poor the experience had been, so we clearly weren't the only ones disappointed. We came for the full hibachi experience and unfortunately did not receive it. We left feeling like we should have gone somewhere else. Very disappointing, and we will not be returning.
