Am very disappointed with the Kunes Service Department. When I initially took my vehicle to them, and explained the problems, they immediately started talking "Tech Speak" trying to talk over my head. They has no idea I am an Engineer, and have almost 50 years as a Maintenance Manager and Technician in the automotive and aviation fields. When I returned their "Tech Speak" it quickly deescalated their attempt to confuse the situation (i.e. "baffle with BS"). The vehicle has only 11,000 miles on it, and is under warranty. They have no loaners available. I made an appointment to bring the vehicle in, only to be told they are "way backed up" and may not get to my car right away. Because of these things, and them thinking they had fixed it a couple times, I had to bring it back several times. They kept it over night a couple times, getting very little to nothing done the first day. They did replace a couple items, thinking they had fixed it, but to very little avail. I ended up bringing it into them half a dozen times total. Finally they tried to blame my battery for the problems. Since it was the only "Non-OEM" part in the car (I had Advance Auto replace the Mopar battery with a Die-hard AGM battery prior to deciding to bring the car into the Dealership for repair). The battery tested fine with the place I purchased it, but Kunes tried to charge me a couple hundred dollars (fully under new car warranty supposedly) claiming the battery was the problem (?!?) and outside warranty. Advance Auto was very accommodating, even though the battery tested 100%, I convinced them to give me a new one. To no surprise, the new battery changed nothing. I will say this Service Department use to be pretty good, they had a Service Manager named "Chad" back then. Apparently they lost Chad, and it appears their quality of service went with him. I ended up both going to a different Dealership Service Department in a neighboring town, and also communicating with Stellantis support through phone calls, to get a solution to the problem. I have bought more than one vehicle from Kunes Dealerships over the years. There are some good salesmen (Like "Ken P." @ Belvidere). But based on this experience, and others I have had in the past, I would NOT recommend Kunes. Stay completely away from anything "Kunes." Both sales and service, they have issues. read more

Do Not Recommend. Dishonest business practices. I regret buying my 2025 Grand Cherokee here. The car was shipped to me with exterior damage, and they lost the spare key. They promised to reimburse me if I bought and programmed a new key myself. I spent $533 doing so, and now they have ghosted me and refuse to return my calls or emails. I should have done more research on the Kunes group's reputation regarding discrimination and poor management before giving them my business. Save yourself the headache and money shop somewhere else. If this is your only option, do not work with Josh Gaudio and Shane Gilwater. read more

The Kunes at 1615 N. State Street is so unprofessional and shady!! I got a 2019 two months ago and have had nothing but problems!! When you call they don't answer! They have been giving me the run around on fixing my truck for weeks! They put a new steering rack on it and my truck still runs like a piece of crap!! I posted another review on their website! They called me immediately!! And said they would take care of my truck if I took I down! I did and never heard from them so I called THEY SAID I COULD BRING IT NEXT WEEK I'm paying 520 for a piece of junk!! And they made a deal with Dignifi in my name that I wasn't even told about!! Take your hard earned money elsewhere!! These people are not family oriented in anyway!! read more

While looking for a car, people told me NOT to go to Kunes, so what did I do? Go to Kunes. I wish I would had listened better. I love my Jeep. Is it over priced? Absolutely. The one thing that bothers me the most is that they weren't up front about the price. I saw the online price, so I just assumed that's the price I got. My dealer told me that it was a little bit more than online (why would you post a price online that you aren't keeping in store beats me)- however everything is included such as tire and rim service, etc. They told me a monthly price and I just went with it- especially because I was in desperate need of a car and my credit was good. I didn't actually find out the complete price until I started making monthly payments. Outrageous. And then I started noticing marks on the car- which, I'll admit- we should had looked over the car at purchasing, but since we were both first time car buyers from a dealership, I looked past it. Do I love my Jeep? Absolutely. They gave us a free first oil change, and I'll admit I love the service they provide. Skip to several months later, our car was in an accident. I took it to get repaired (back axel damage- which the guys at Kunes- shout out- noticed, however when I take it into the shop, suddenly I have front axle damage too. This is just crazy to me, mostly because the front was never damaged. But now looking at the dent when we initially purchased, I'm wondering if they didn't disclose other information to us. paid 3k for the cerakote package made appointment to get a scratch fixed , got there and told me it needed to be approved to be fixed , waited around for about one hour and they said there manager was not available today, and said they would give me a call back next week! horrible service department and sales department! read more

if you want to spend your day pissing around in a dealership this is the place. They have this big lie of how they value the customer and they don't. They lie and they are only interested in selling inventory. Their faith, family and giving back motto is nothing more than words. They leased my daughter a car, knew she owed money on her previous lease and told us that she owed nothing, so decided to lied about what she owed to lease their car to her. A couple of months later, because they sat on the old leased car until she couldn't take her new lease back, the bank is dinging her credit - calling her about her payment on the old car. Kunes pretended to know nothing and acted as if they had no idea where the old leased car was. We cleared the note on the car because even though there was a power of attorney signed to give them possession of the old lease they still didn't return the car until the end of August. This had went on for six months. The bank again is after more money from my daughter because Kunes never finished on their end. They lie. They are incompetent and ignorant. This dodge dealership should be avoided. All of their dealerships should be. Go anywhere you can find, if possible, to get a no hassle deal where they won't lie to you and won't try to exhaust you to sell you something that is already over priced and not worth the money. read more
