Been here twice; the first was the grand opening which was quite a disaster. We waited exactly one hour for our order and it was waaayyyy too sweet (I believe I ordered the red bean milk tea). This is understandable since it was literally their first day and there was a line out the door. Since then, I think they've done a lot better with wait times and overall taste. As a self ascribed aficionado of Boba tea this is one of the best I have ever had! The tapioca is soft, chewy and lightly sweet. A newly established bubble tea joint. I needed a boba fix because I haven't had one in a while- so when I heard that Kung Fu came in to town, I was ecstatic. Much to my disappointment, it did not meet my expectations. The milk tea was quite good and I'm glad they didn't mess up a staple- but the slushes need some major help. The mango slush was COMPLETELY ice only. I could barely drink out of the straw without going blue in the head cause nothing came out. The drink was just one big clump of orangey-yellow ice. I've gone to this Kung fu tea numerous times and every time I've gone (busy or not) they take so long to make my drink. I've waited as long as 25 minutes for one drink. They even messed up my order completely a few times and it takes at least 15 minutes for them to fix it and make my order right. The one on sawmill is much faster and nicer in my opinion. I tried this place after reading oh so many reviews on Yelp. As a newbie to all the "new tea" trends, I thought I'd get on the bubble tea band wagon. I dragged my older teen son with me, who is an avid, yet still new tea lover and as we stood in line we tried to navigate their fairly impressive, but somewhat confusing menu. I wasn't quite sure if bubbles went in all the teas or if you just order bubble tea, so when I got to the counter I asked for Oolong Milk Tea and also Mango Bubble tea. Total $5, umm maybe I didn't do this right because I think 2 teas are more than 5 dollars. So, I tell him again what I'd like, $5. He sees the confusion in my eyes and as I lean closer in I tell him I have no idea what I'm doing. The young man at the counter politely smiled and pointed to the bored and said "many people like honey milk tea. You can add bubbles." And so we did. I had his recommended honey milk tea with bubbles and my son had a hot oolong tea with bubbles. I'm not sure why it costs more to get hot tea than cold, but the oolong was a win! I loved it. The cold honey milk was good, but you can only get a large and I could not finish the whole thing as milk is a bit filling. I think bubble tea is great fun and Kung Fu Tea has a lot to offer, but it needs to "dumb down" its menu for the newbies and possibly have a take away menu that can be looked at so that you don't hold up the line. I'm not sure if I like this place better than ZenChi, but I will be giving it a second chance. read more

Took a minute to find. We really did enjoy the boba tea. I got a mango tea with bubbles. The strawberry milk bubble was really good. Ordered that for my kids. Tastes just like strawberries and cream. I loved Kung Fu Tea! The service was quick and friendly. We were first-timers, so the menu and ordering style was gladly explained to us. I ended up going with a medium taro green milk tea + bubbles (50 cents): light ice and regular sugar (I found it really neat that you could customize the sweetness). It was either $4.50 or $5. They have a plethora of tea flavors to choose from to make an awesome tea/milk tea/slushy with or without the bubbles (tapioca balls). I like that you have the option to choose the level of sweetness and amount of ice. The staff is very friendly as well. They also have a good desert, but the teas are much better than the desert, I recommend getting the taro milk green tea or the Oreo Wow milk. I was surprised to see a tea house open in Columbus, and very thankful it did. It's tucked away in the corner of Kenny Center, between all the jazzercise and salon shops. There's an electronic menu near the front window so you have time to read it and decide what you'd like before even entering. The lighting is ample, and there are plenty of wall outlets on the back wall/booth if you wanted to bring a laptop or tablet and do assignments/work. I've tried every milk tea drink offered and some of their coffee/espresso options as well. Each drink teas a few minutes to prepare. The tea is sweet and flavorful. The coffee is robust with subtle flavor notes. The only drink I didn't care for was the oreo milk tea. Definitely want to try their punches and slushies. read more

Kung Fu Tea is tucked away in the same shopping center as Staples, Jazzercize and my favorite Japanese Market. I love Boba tea and was excited to learn about a new place in Columbus. I visited around 10:30 am on a Wednesday and they seemed to have a steady stream of customers (even at an odd time of day). I would have been more brave in my selection, but the menu was a bit overwhelming. I ordered a Passion Fruit Green Tea and added Bubbles (50 cent upcharge). They allowed me to customize the sweetness--which is unique. My large drink was around $5.69. My tea was good-- but it wasn't out of this world. I think for them to have staying power, they should re-evaluate their pricing model. In my opinion, bubbles should be included with a drink (isn't that why people go to a Bubble tea place) and their drinks should be around $3.70 for a small and $4.20 for a large. I think Starbucks has a great pricing model for their iced Refresher drinks. read more

Really great. Delicious tea and slushes and so many other options. It's definitely my favorite drink place. They've got coffee drinks as well as punch, slushes, tea, milk tea and more. Everything there is very customizable and affordable and they make your drinks very fast and the employees are friendly. Currently my favorite drink is the lychee punch with bubbles.
