Used to love coming here but i'm having second thoughts these days. I was here with my friend and I ordered a regular milk tea with boba while she got a taro milk tea. The store was super crowded and the employees messed up our drinks twice, but they fixed it for us for free. The drink itself was actually really good. Now the reason I don't think i will come back is that I overheard the employees complain about their store manager keeping all the credit card tips. Not only is that illegal, it's keeping a lot of money from these young high schoolers. After I heard that, i got up and left $50 cash in their tip jar, which I hope those employees will split among themselves. I was once in high school working hard to pay for gas and to save for college, so I understand the struggles these kids go through. The tea here is actually pretty good, but I wouldn't want to give any more money to this terrible store management. Come here for the vibe and to study (the music is pretty good!) but you'd be better off going to Teahouse on barker. read more

Deleted my old review because I gave this place another try with a few of my coworkers- It was much better! - They updated their menu and added a few more drinks like Thai milk tea I got the milk tea with tapioca. Ordered some of the slushes. Not very impressed. Honestly they were kinda bland. The mocha had no chocolate taste just milk. The slush "dries" up pretty quick like you have to wait for it melt to continue drinking. I like the option for lactaid milk. Overall just not a fan. read more

Today was my first time at Kung Fu Tea and my 2 daughters love this place so I figured I would try it. I Must say I was not impressed due to the service that was given by one particular cashier. I asked her if the melon green tea was good and she looked at me with a blank face stating I don't know I've never tried the teas with milk before and then I explained to her I was asking about the classic melon green tea and she then shrugs and stated well I don't know I've never tried it. So I continue to order this tea and then received it and was pretty disgusting so I went up to the counter and asked if I could switch it out and she again looked at me with a blank face and stated no! I work in customer service and I would have at least tried to do something to make the customer feel a little better especially being the first time and first impression of your facility.she simply did not care at all not once did she smile or was friendly. I actually felt very awkward and uncomfortable because of her. I hope in the future this place can hire more friendly staff members. I will not be back again. read more

So we were craving some boba and searched "boba open late" and saw this place! We saw that they closed at 11 pm so we drove about 15 minutes and arrived at 10:33 pm. We were greeted with "sorry, but we can't take anymore orders because we're closing. We have to be out by 11." So I questioned, "so what time do y'all really close then? What time do y'all shut down?" They said, "10:30 pm." So make sure y'all get there on time! Make sure they have enough time to make your drinks by 10:30 pm since 10:30 is their actual closing time. I hate to leave a 1 star review, but this place was so good a few years ago. Last week, i ordered 2 drinks on 2 different days. Both drinks had milk caps. Coincidentally, both of these "milk caps" sunk to the bottom. Quite funny, but the drinks tasted horrible as well. Also, the previous manager wasn't there on both occasions. I made the drive to go here because the time says they close at 11p. I got there at 10:32p and the people there stated they no longer were taking orders. They said they close at 10:30p. I do not understand why their time says 11p if they are actually closed at 10:30p. I have never been to a place that stops taking orders 30 minutes before they close. I was cruising down 290 when I saw a sign that said Kung fu Tea and had to stop in. I've tried the one in Bellaire and realized this place just opened. There is a special going on, BOGO on select drinks so why not try it out. The interior is clean and there is plenty of space.. perhaps a future workspace/study area? The decoration was minimal and neat. The cashier was unfriendly and rude. She didn't seem to want to be there and had a frown the whole time she was taking our order. The drinks didn't take long, but we rushed out after. WINTER MELON TEA This drink was way too sweet. I felt like I developed diabetes after drinking one sip. Too bad we didn't know we were going to be hyperglycemic or we would've asked for less sugar. All I could taste was sweetness. I can't really describe the taste other than that it tasted like sugar mixed with water. There wasn't much of a tea taste to it or a fruit taste.. just plain sweet! We threw it away after we left. KF MILK TEA I ordered this drink in Bellaire and it was disappointing, but I decided to give it another try. Nope~ should've just let it be and never come back. The drink was very milky and didn't have a tea taste to it. I asked for 50% less sugar because I had a problem with it being too sweet the first time, but it didn't fix the problem of the drink being tasteless and milky. Once again~ you proved that I should've stayed away. Well~ you can't win them all. I'll have to stick to other establishments to get my milk tea fix. Cute place? Yes. Good drinks? Came here with a couple friends after dinner because we heard a new boba place just opened up in the area. I've been to a Kung-Fu Tea before, but this one was different. It's a lot bigger than most tapioca places, and it's super clean. There's plenty of space to hang out and they have games to play with friends as well. We ordered drinks as a party of 8, and man were we surprised how quickly all the drinks came out. The store was busy, but our drinks didn't take more than a couple minutes to come out. On top of the speed, the drinks were all delicious! This is a very efficient and clean tapioca place that people of all ages would be able to hang out at to enjoy a good drink. read more

I came in here the other day, I believe during off-peak hours, and I really felt like the staff were rushing me. They were slow to respond to me, and when I asked about the things on the menu, one person ignored me and the other didn't seem to know. They almost looked at me like I was stupid for asking such a basic question. I asked for zero sugar in my matcha, and I know it's generally sweeter than most teas, but I know matcha and this definitely had sugar. I'm on a pretty strict diet as far as sugar goes, and I still have a hard time believing that the sugar bomb I drank didn't have sugar in it. I'm not sure if they forgot I had asked for no sugar or what... My girlfriend's tea was great though. No complaints there. I haven't really wanted to give this place a second try, though perhaps I will one day (with something other than matcha!). The location is great, as it's right in the middle of Cypress, and I know of other locations that are amazing (Bellaire Blvd!!). Hoping this location can turn around for me. read more

Place has really gone down hill over the last year and a half, even before Covid. I'm not sure if they changed ownership or not but I've ordered several drinks for pickup before and have been called about some ingredient being out of stock. 7/10 times I've tried to get coffee milk tea they dont have it or the machine is "broken". They still don't have indoor seating too. It's a shame we really enjoyed going since they opened but have stopped for the most part. One of the very few boba places I truly enjoy, from the first time you walk into the door the whole atmosphere is almost changed into something more. I personally am impressed that every time I come into Kung-Fu Tea they get my order finished in 5 mins or less, regardless if I'm behind people or not, the way they run things are also very efficient and clean. The staff are equally as welcoming as the atmosphere when you walk in, and never have I seen the staff be rude to me or other customers. They offer a variety of drinks ranging from Milk tea, to slushes, to actual coffee. There's plenty to chose from, but I would recommend the Kung Fu Milk Tea, one of my favorites that I absolutely recommend. read more

First time here- they were advertised in the cypress news. Biggest complaint is the smell of cigarette smoke inside the store, not sure if this is a byproduct of cleaning products or something else but I got nauseous bc of the smell and was itching for my drink to be ready so I could leave. Sadly it didn't let me enjoy the atmosphere. I got the honey green tea classic with boba. The boba was pretty good, and the honey tea wasn't too sweet. The drink was a little luke warm though, would have been nice for it be a little more iced. Same with the chai tea. The taro slush and strawberry milk slush were pretty good. I might come back? This is one of my favorite Teahouses in town, but for the first time in a while, I left disappointed and with dissatisfaction with my drink. Firstly, when I arrived, the area itself was very disorganized. I understand that the place was busy, so I overlooked it- but when the workers were also disorganized, it was unacceptable. They seemed to be wasting time idly when there were orders or drinks to made, and one of the two kept wasting time presumably looking at the menu plastered on the wall; he should learn the menu, shouldn't he? Secondly, I ordered a drink with boba, but the drink was poorly prepared. A tall white worker, who seemed young, took my order and as I observed, made the drink. There was not enough Boba in my drink, so much so that I was able to count the amount of Boba in my drink on my hands, (around 10). There was also not enough ice in my drink, and the drink's flavor seemed washed down compared to how it normally tastes when I order it in Bellaire or even at this location. These two points in mind, I was disappointed. I will give this place another chance; I hope things change and my experience will improve. read more

Though I live in the Clear Lake area, was visiting cousins who lives in Cypress and decided to check out this Kung Fu Tea! The nearest KFT place for me is probably Pearland. Anyways this place is a lot bigger than the one in Pearland. The decor inside the store really pretty. The store near Cinemark which is good because maybe after seeing a movie you can swing by and get some boba. x) Friendly staff too! It took them awhile to make our drinks (both my drink and my cuzns' drinks who ordered three drinks) which I completely understand. I got the passion fruit green tea but switched it to black tea. Next time gonna ask for less ice because about maybe five sips, it was gone. Definitely coming back here when I come back to Cypress. read more

I used to go to another tea house a bit down the road, but recently their quality has gone way down in the last year. I'm happy to say that KFT is now my number one spot!! I'm a bit of a boba tea snob and really picky with how I like my tapioca (the sweetness, chewiness, etc.) and KFT does not disappoint! No matter how busy it is, they always manage to get their drinks perfect every time! The workers here are super nice and really patient for the times when you're just staring at the menu, not knowing what you want to try next. KFT is definitely one of my go-to study spots! What I really love about KFT is that they offer hot drinks! For those days when I'm feeling a little under the weather, a hot Milk Green Tea or Matcha Milk Tea can make me feel almost 100% better after just one sip! A few of my favorite drinks include: the two mentioned above, the taro milk green tea (with red bean), lychee punch, and the classic milk tea! The only negative thing I can think of is that the seating here is kind of uncomfortable, especially the benches along the walls which is why I took off one star. I really wish that they were at least cushioned. Sometimes it can be a little hard to have a long study session when I'm sitting on the benches because they can get really uncomfortable. UPDATE (2/28/18) - They were out of matcha for about a week which is fine but must have changed the brand they use. The drink tastes like sub-par matcha now (light green vs the deep green color). I'll try again in a few months and hopefully they'll go back to the matcha powder they used to use. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My all time favorite is the macha red bean slush. - Generally too sweet but you can adjust the sweetness. I normally get 30% sugar - Service is generally fast but when they're busy, you should expect to wait 15 -20 mins which is a bit much for boba. They typically have only 1 or 2 people making drinks and taking orders. - Overall, i like the matcha they use and go back frequently. read more

I highly recommend going to this place. I have tried many different Boba tea places and through the years I wish that kung fu tea had already existed! We go in here weekly and have been doing that for the last three months. So much assortment and flavors. Yes, the kids that work the counter are young, but they are very helpful when I need help paying with the app; the environment is nice always clean and cool place to stay and play some Jenga, I highly recommend it and I am definitely a food critic! You won't regret going there! I have tried all the coffee flavors and strawberry, Oreo etc. and they were all awesome!!! the only item I point out as needing improvement is keeping that bathroom clean, so periodic check ups and lower the music just a little bit. Sometimes it can be "club kung fu tea" there and it's hard to hear oneself talk. I have tried all the other locations except the one off Veterans Memorial. My experience has been great at all of them. I was able to find a pumpkin spice during the holidays at the Bellaire location. It was hard to find that flavor at all the others it was delicious. I was still waiting to leave a review since I was coming here more often but my most recent visit left a foul taste in my mouth. I came in on August 13th and was greeted, the girl at the front was nice but busy so I waited. I ordered a drink, but didn't feel the need to tip since I always go there and always tip. But this time I only bought one small drink so I didn't leave a tip. After I declined the tip, she didn't print me out a receipt and became very short with me. When I asked for a bag for my drink because I was taking it somewhere else and didn't want the condensation to leave my cup holder wet, she abruptly places the bag on the table and walked away. There were no other customers waiting on their drinks or drink orders left so I would have thought she would have been more patient and asked me if I needed anything else while handing me the bag but no. Attitude adjustment definitely needed! It wasn't like she was the one making my drink either. It wasnt until I left when I realized that they didn't even fill my drink up to the top. Her mood and attitude towards me changed instantly after I made the payment and declined to tip which is not good customer service since tip is optional and not mandatory. Hopefully that was just a fluke but don't let your personal life or a tip refusal determine how you treat a customer. You never know who that customer is or what they are capable of. read more

So Kung fu is pretty decent boba tea. I appreciate that there's consistency between all their locations so you know exactly what you're getting. The staff is also pretty friendly and helpful. They have a ton of flavors and a lot of different types of fillers (Mung bean, red bean, tapioca, jellys etc). They also have some coffee drinks if you're not into tea. They also have macarons that are decent and some other packaged snacks. I really appreciate that they have many different sugar levels so you can really get the sweetness to just how you like it. Also they have alternative milks, just ask. Only con is that they only have one size so you're kind of just stuck with whatever quantity they give you. They have free wifi and plenty of outlets so also a good spot to study potentially. It's usually not too crowded so it's easy to get a table. There are also board games so it's a good place to hang out with friends. read more

Ive been to Kung Fu Tea several times, but recently going there to get boba, it has not been enjoyable. It's very hot in the store as if they have no AC available. I start sweating and its uncomfortable. They should have they AC on. Who knows if their customers or workers have complained about it already. They should get that fixed ASAP. read more
