I really love this place. I haven't had boba in quite some time and decided to give it another go. I also wanted my daughter to try new things so we ordered a couple of drinks when they were on Doordash for our area. I enjoyed the brown sugar boba in my drink and my daughter enjoyed her s'more drink as well! I also really like the lemonade tea drinks but did not care for the winter melon. I love how you can choose your level of sweetness as well. I'd really love some more sugar-free options though but overall a very good experience. Their employees are also super nice. Usually when I go to get boba tea I'll get matcha milk tea with boba, but this time I decided to try something different and I'm so glad I did!! The winter melon green milk tea (less sweet, 70%) was everything I wanted. The drink was perfectly sweet & all of my friends drinks were very well made as well. Our first time ordering drinks was on a Friday afternoon after lunch about a week ago. We ordered a medium half sweet iced winter melon green milk tea with boba (free topping with check-in) and no ice, and a less sweet (70%) hot almond milk tea ($4.25). We met the owner, Sin, who is friendly, took the time to get to know us, and ensured that our drinks were perfect. She even gave us a sample of the almond milk tea to make sure that the sweetness level was to our liking. We came back again tonight before having dinner at the pho restaurant and ordered a hot ginger milk, one of the few caffeine-free drinks. It was nice and hot and had a good amount of ginger flavor, but it cost $5, which is pretty steep for a 16oz, uncaffeinated drink. My first and only other Kung Fu Tea experience was at the Convoy location about six months ago. Boba is great and no complains. Service is also good! Parking is limited cause it's located in a busy plaza and due to covid they have limited seating. I love kung fu tea! Its probably one of the more better boba places in San Diego in my opinion. The review that I'm doing is the Santee location. I've been to the convoy location and I will say there is a major difference between the two. For starters it's a little smaller here, but it's also alot quiter. I always felt that the convoy location was too loud, and that's due to the amount of people and the volume of music they play. It seems a little cleaner here then the convoy location, probably because it's also newer. What I enjoy the most about this location is that everytime that I've gone so far, there was NEVER a wait for it. There's basically no difference in taste so if you're ever in the area and you want kung fu tea, come here!!! The flavors I've tried so far and enjoyed are the orange green tea, thai tea, taro slush, passion fruit tea, wintermelon green milk tea, and the taro milk tea. One thing I recommend is to make sure you get your toppings! They'll usually ask but it's always good to make sure you get your boba, lychee jelly, etc. My go to drink is the taro milk tea, less ice, with boba AND oreo!!! It is so delicious! Yall wont regret! I have been waiting for a good boba shop with non-dairy milk to open up in the east county because ya girl is lactose intolerant. I usually go to the one in Convoy and there is always a long line that goes throughout the door. I can see why because the drinks are really good, including the boba, so I was hoping their drinks are pretty good too at this location too. When I came in tonight, I noticed right away that the decor is really different compared to the one in Convoy. This one is more simple, clean, and traditional. It even has a sitting area where you take off your shoes and sit on a cushion. I think that it is very unique and cool that they have that. There aren't as many tables and chairs to sit, so it'll suck if it gets really busy. Since right now it is their soft opening, I didn't set my expectations too high. They messed up on my drink, as well as my sisters, but they were very apologetic about it. I also asked for 70% sweetness, but it tasted like 120% sweetness. Also, some of the boba was chewy as if it weren't cooked all the way. Other than that, customer service was great. Everyone working there was so nice and sweet! They greeted us right away and even asked if we wanted refills. Their deals for their soft opening (August 15-17th) right now is a free upgrade drink and for their grand opening, it's BOGO on some selective drinks. I've never had any sort of boba tea in my LIFE before trying this spot out. I decided to go with the Kung Fu Milk Tea w/ Boba (50% sweet) since it's one of their best sellers.
