Even though I have driven by this restaurant more times than I can count, I recently made my first visit. Previously, I had walked by and saw lots of people inside and nice advertisements for hand, pulled, or knife cut noodles. When I visited, the restaurant was partially full, but by the time I left, it was packed with a wait at the door. The staff was very friendly and kind. The outside and inside decor shows that this is a no-frills restaurant, but it makes up for it with amazing food. I ordered the mapo tofu, the pepper, beef noodle soup, and the tofu noodles. The pepper beef soup had a nice bite to it, but was a different kind of hot spice then other heat brought by oils or chili peppers. The broth was flavored well and the soup had a great balance of meat and vegetables. The noodles were wonderfully chewy and tender. It was a bit challenging to eat them at first since they were very long but once they were cut, things went much quicker. The noodles and tofu had a wonderful sauce on them, and the noodles could have been eaten by themselves alone. I appreciated the fried tofu and plentiful vegetables, which aren't always in some dishes. The Mapo tofu had a side of rice and was pleasantly seasoned. It wasn't too spicy, but had a nice depth to it. I also had an order of Xiao long bao and barbecue pork bow buns. These were great, but we're so overshadowed by the rest of the food that they took a back seat. However, they are excellent even if a person orders just these. I had leftovers and this place has the most amazing containers and to go bags whether it is for a local delivery or dine in and takeout. So cool! When I reheated the leftovers the next day, the flavors had had a chance to meld and deepen and the food was next level. I almost want to order again just to be able to eat everything the next day. This is my new favorite spot and I am only kicking myself for not coming here earlier. read more

Bean-curd salad and cucumber salad were very fresh and interesting. Potstickers were okay. Too much pork inside, Crab wontons super sweet. Did not like the sweet flavor. They were also cleerly burnt. Non spicy beef tripe. Loved that! Super unique and great texture! Orange chicken with rice noodles was delicious. Overall food was fine. I appreciated that they were willing to modify items to my taste. Came here for lunch and after I walked in I realized I tried the one in Chandler.. Oh well... Ordered the double pepper beef noodle soup with handpulled noodle. This one was recommended by the guy who took my order. Dish came out quick, which is nice. Broth was pretty darn yummy. Not as spicy as I would like, for a dish that suppose to be spicy. This bowl had some extra vegetables, like broccoli, tomato, jalapeño and other stuff I didn't know. The noodle though.. One of the better noodles I had in the valley.. Nice chew from hand pulled and fresh tasting. Over all dish was very good. I added some extra chilli oil for extra spice. We ordered via DoorDash, and we were not disappointed! This was the best packaged meal I have ever had! The food was beyond marvelous!!! I had the Dan Dan Noodles, and they were authentic street food quality - they were room temp and spicy in the best of ways. The broccoli and beef was succulent and tender in a very memorable sauce. Kungfu Noodles was a bit of a mixed bag for me. The noodles were definitely the highlight. I had the fried noodles and they were really good. Some of the strands were impressively long when I lifted them off the plate which was kind of fun and felt legit. Flavor and texture were on point and I really enjoyed that dish. I also tried the soup dumplings which were just okay. Not bad, just nothing memorable. Then I had what I think were pork and shrimp dumplings. They tasted mostly like green onion with a bit of meat mixed in. Again, fine, but not something I would specifically go back for. The biggest letdown was the cucumber salad. I have had some great cucumber salads before and this was not one of them. It was mushy and tasted like it had been sitting in vinegar for a long time waiting for someone to order it. I've never had Chinese noodles before especially homemade Chinese noodles. I ordered the stirfry noodles with chicken and it was absolutely amazing with the right heat, super flavors, and the noodles were so soft, tender and slightly chewy. In addition, I ordered the spicy potstickers. These were absolutely the bomb. Just the right amount of heat filled with tender pork and large enough to be a meal on their own. The service was right there to answer any questions I had. Inside area is spacious open with large windows. Parking is easily accessible out front. My only negative comment is I wish I had a bigger stomach. If you're in Tempe, give this place a shot it's super good. read more

Been coming here since it was called Kung Fu Ramen and it hasn't disappointed! Delicious hand pulled noodles. They've done quite a few renovations lately so the takeout and eat in experience keeps getting better. We usually get the spicy beef noodles but I decided to go for the Zha Jiang noodles (black bean noodles with cucumber and pork) and it was one of the best I've had. I normally prefer the Korean Zhajiang noodles but the one they make here has a fragrant garlic oil that takes this dish to the top. Highly recommended! read more

Let me say, I'm an avid lover of all Asian food, and this place is now my number one go to spot. I was so surprised by the super cute reusable delivery bag! I'm definitely going to be using this. Disappointed with this eatery since it fell well short of the high average rating of yelpers who frequent this restaurant. Parking is shared in the strip center. The interior is clean and decorated with an Asian flare. I just arrived from driving in from So Cal and opted to eat here which I was seated immediately. The staff was semi friendly, but the food was not what I'm used to compared to our So Ca options. Selected the Beef noodle soup, xlb's and Dan dan noodles. The beef noodle soup included tomato slices and broccoli which is the first time I've ever experienced this, (Eaten this in Taiwan) and the Xiao Long Bao had a distinctive unpleasant after taste. Really solid place for some traditional Chinese beef noodle soup. The noodle texture in all the dishes were great, but the start was definitely the beef noodle soup. Could be spicier for my preference, but great flavor. The dan dan noodles were good, but I've definitely had better. It just lacked a bit of depth and spice. Handmade noodles!! That's a win for me right there. They have handmade noodles in lots of shapes and you can have them in soup, stir-fried, or with a stir-fry dish instead of rice. On a raining day, I was in the search for something new! I found this restaurant in the Eater's blog and decided to give it a try! And found it the perfect place to get some fresh noodles with a friend! We were a bit nervous when we walked in as we were the only people eating but the restaurant filled up quickly! As the only ones in the restaurant, we were seated immediately. We started off with an order of fried pork dumplings as well as a chicken egg roll. Both items seemed to be a bit over cooked. The egg roll had a different taste than any I was used to, but was all right. Next was an order of the House Special Fried Rice. It was an enigma. Some of it was properly cooked and some of it was overcooked. It seemed to be low on flavor but I added some soy sauce which helped a bit. Our main course was Mongolian Beef. The beef was nicely cooked and properly velveted and was served on a bed of sauteed onions. The plate also had a portion of hand pulled noodles on it. The noodles, while having a nice texture, were what in China would be called longevity noodles. It means that a noodle is more than a yard long in an effort to give the diner a long life. It also means it is a bit difficult to eat as we had no scissors or knife to cut them shorter with. Everything was washed down with Thai Tea, which was properly prepared and tasted excellent. Everything was amazing! Hand pulled noodles are something that me and my kiddos love! The service was excellent. The food came out fast and hot and we devoured our food quickly. Portions are generous. The restaurant area is clean and there was ample seating. We ordered braised beef noodle soup, stir fried rice noodles with shrimp , stir fried noodles with shrimp and the steamed pork dumplings! One comment our waiter said to me when I asked what another customer had was that I wouldn't like "it". It was pig intestines or pig feet...I'm originally from the south (Mississippi) , so please don't assume what I wouldn't like... All in all, I would recommend this place! I feel at home here. The food tasted delicious! I wouldn't say this is the best Chinese food I've ever had, but something that stuck out to me was how clean their broth tasted. While the cumin lamb stir fried noodles were oily, the soup broth wasn't, so the contrast was lovely. All the food tasted amazing; I think when I go back, I wouldn't get the hot chili dumplings, and would get the xiao long bao instead. The dumplings though were a nice size, just that the hot chili dumpling dish in general is better at other places like Original Cuisine. The cumin noodles were SO good as well as the soup. You can select the noodle width for the soups (like Magic Noodle House way back when), and the extra wide ones were so bouncy. I felt that for the price per dish, we got A LOT of food. I came with a friend, and we had enough left over of the noodle soup for one meal, and the cumin lamb noodles could easily fill 2 more people for a separate meal (or two). I had vegetarian dumplings, the dough was hand made and designed on top. Filled to hype brim with a mince of mushrooms carrots celery and yum!! My friend had pork stir fried noodles and they came with uber tender pork in a sauce. The noodle dish was big enough to fill her and take home as well. The decor is white white walls reflecting tons of light and tables for four and six and eight.. so lots of folks. The restaurant was clean as a whistle, spotless. And when you walk in there is a slight hint of star anise, which is a good thing. Service was prompt and though I had to wait a bit for my dumplings, it was sooo worth it. The house special beef noodle soup was comforting, the fried noodles were delicious, and the spicy wontons pack some serious heat (my wife's favorite!).
