Read some good and bad reviews so I decided to give it a try.. I was starving and haven't had good Chinese food since last June when we went to China. This place appears to be one of them mom and pop shop that's been here for a while.. Friendly lady and first customer for the day it seems. I didn't know what to order but the lady recommended Kung pao chicken if I have never been here. So i got the lunch special. Can't go wrong with Kung pao and at least I know if that dish is yummy rest would follow. So I get my lunch specially which came with scoop of rice (choice of white or fried). Portion looked on the small side but oh well. Take my first bite and I am greeted with this strong sour taste. I'm thinking to myself, man it's been a while since I had Kung pao dish, I don't ever remember being this sour. Couple more bite and yup, it was like eating a sweet and sour chicken without the sweet. Had some chillies but dish had no heat what so ever. I was so disappointed how bad it tasted. Of course since I was hungry I ate the dish. I noticed more people came to eat after I got my food and it appears lot of return customers, which is nice. But this place was definitely not for me.. You know it's bad again, when I'm thinking to myself, panda express version is way better. Oh well, I won't be coming back here again.

Plant based dumplings The star of the meal. Oh and miss pea.

Let's see. You are a place that pushes heavy on take out. Somebody, I am going human and not AI, put it together. Then, and this is just me tossing this toward the moon, stuck it in plastic, reviewed it, and let it go. If this person is a student at ASU, they should ask themselves when they order delivery, what item is relevant upon receiving it. Hmm. What could it be? Oh wait, I know. A fork. Maybe a plastic knife too. Oh, snd these little items called napkins. Sure I could use the toilet paper, and imagine Im at a Mongolian restaurant where everyone eats with their hands, but I'm not. Food eise - i opened up with the Impossible meat dumplings- i.e. plant based meat. It was wonderful, but the Dipping sauce was greasy and lacked depth of flavor. A bummer for a great appetizer. Witjin the dumplings is shredded carrots bits snd I found a sad pea looking at me. I felt for it. The other dish was Chiclen Chow Noodles. This is where we both felt a fork, maybe two, and a knive would benefit. I say two because we got two fortune cookies. Now the dish. I could hsve sworn that in th3 first few bites it tasted as though shrimp was in there. When I tried other items in it, including the spouse, we both concurred the taste disappeared. Nevertheless, it had zero flavor. I mesn there was sauce but I could decipher what it was. I asked my friend, miss pea. She was baffled too.

    D11. Beef? with Broccoli Dinner
    Tarah L.

Ordered the Beef and Broccoli dinner... 2 tiny gross crab puffs like it was cream cheese mixed with sour cream :(, the veggie roll was very greasy, the portion of "beef" and broccoli was 1/4 the container, 1/2 the container was fried rice, no veg in the rice?, and "veggie chow mein" was just udon noodles with three slivers of carrot... the meat was questionable, was it beef? Idk. Didn't look like beef and it was so sauced that I couldn't tell what meat it was, no delicious.. I won't be ordering from here again, pretty disappointing for a $20 "dinner".

I love this place so much. I take my friends and family here all the time! The food is home cooked noodles made with so much love. You can taste the authentic ingredients, it's not fast food quality it's genuinely delicious and high quality. My favorite thing is seeing people's reactions to biting into the tender beef because it's so good!!! Order the sampler appetizer as it comes with wontons, egg rolls, crab Rangoons and more. The environment is lovely, there is Chinese red lanterns everywhere. Plants and cute art all over the walls. The owner always places 1950's love music. So romantic for dates as me and my partner go often! The owner is incredibly and sweet. She memorizes peoples orders, how they have been. She creates such a beautiful and meaningful environment. 10/10

I moved to Arizona about 6 months ago and just moved over to Tempe maybe about a month ago and had just discovered this gem about a week ago. I love spicy food and they definitely delivered on that. The owner asked me 1-10 how spicy I said 10 make me regret it and they definitely delivered on that LOL. I haven't been able to find a restaurant since I moved here that has given me that sensation; I love spicy food. Very hospitable and very welcoming. The atmosphere was nice as well. I will definitely be coming here for more! Thank you again

The food is incredible! It's definitely made with love and care. The service was also amazing, the woman there was so friendly and kind. The inside of the restaurant was clean and cozy too. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back to support this small business!

Lovely little spot. Dropped in while I my film was being developed next door. Had a lovely conversation with the woman who helped me and the food was great.

I specifically went to your website and chose delivery through your online portal.. the first step of owning a good business or running a good business is owning up to your mistakes!! Very frustrating experience. I placed a delivery order (almost $100 from their website, not an 3rd party) and an item was missing. When I called, they argued with me and insisted they "knew" they packed it, like I'd lie over a $10 item. They made me send photos before agreeing to remake it and said they would deliver it. 30 minutes later nothing arrived. When I called back, they said they had no driver and told me to pick it up even though I paid for delivery because I did not have a vehicle at the time. They refused to refund me, hung up, and even blocked my number. "10/10 spice" coming from someone who orders triple Thai spicy and gets absolutely stared down by the waitress Food was absolutely authentic and delicious. Needless to say it was way more than we needed for two people. Definitely needed rice. I think my favorite was the combo bc the fish dish wasn't pickled or numbing enough for me but to be fair it wasn't advertised as a numbing dish. The restaurant also has a small bar but the decor is very classy and warm - I was surprised at how much good pop music they were playing despite really only having Chinese people work there! Needed to pull out my Google translate fail on my part but everyone was completely sweet about it and very patient with my Chinese being so bad. However, I'm on a kick right now to try places that I may have overlooked as I've been seeking out the new, shiny restaurants we have in the valley. Shaanxi Garden is just that, right there in plain sight on the corner, it's been around for years. With a renewed focus on the landscape I think I will keep trying places that aren't new by any means, but are new to me. For our visit, it was about 8pm on a Wednesday evening. Definitely not popping, only a couple other tables were full. However the server was quick to greet us and get us started, and I liked ordering from my phone & a QR code, and thus being able to see the photos and descriptions of dishes. This helped us in making a great decision on what to try. And when we were finished, we "checked out" online where we placed the order and our server came over with the bill and boxes. All very smooth. I knew this place was known for its wide, thick Biang Biang noodles so we ordered the vegetarian version (tomato & egg, chili oil noodles) and an entree of the fragrant stir fried lamb. Tasty dishes! I liked the texture of the very long noodles-- good chew & bite, reminded me a bit of having lasagna noodles. Flavors were great, veggies tasted fresh, and everything came out hot & fast. We definitely couldn't finish everything so we had some leftovers for lunch another day. This was all about $34 before tip. That's a deal right now in the current food landscape! Lower price didn't taste like lower quality. It was all very good. Definitely would like to come back and try other items. The menu is pretty extensive, normally I don't like too many options but their ordering system makes it a bit easier to navigate.
