As soon as I opened the door the staff was warm and welcoming. I waited maybe a minute. Sebastian was wonderful getting me settled in and comfortable with the setting - checking on me while I waited for the doctor. Dr. Samantha was great. She didn't lecture me at all about not seeing the dentist regularly. I told her I was hitting the reset button and back to prioritizing my dental health - she was receptive and wonderful. I had three cavities filled that day. I didn't feel a thing! Before the procedure, staff came in to review costs with me. There was zero pressure to get any work done that day. The space is great - it's open but still very private for doctor/staff and patient conversations. Parking was $5 for two hours and there were plenty of spaces. I think I found my dentist after a few trials at other places!

Beyond her attention to detail, she's incredibly knowledgeable and clearly knows what she's doing. She graduated from UCLA and completed her orthodontic residency there as well (which is highly competitive) so you're truly in expert hands. On top of that, she's very genuine and transparent about pricing, which made me feel comfortable and never pressured. I have never felt so comfortable and in such good hands. From the hygienist, to Dr. William Cheng, they were absolutely excellent. Best cleaning I have had, the hygienist was extremely kind and thorough. She was meticulous about getting all the stains and any buildup out. Plus they put TV's on the ceiling so when you're getting your cleaning you can watch Netflix. It's bright and airy in there and it's across from a beautiful green lawn! Sometimes when you're on Yelp, you'll see a dentist with 300 five star reviews, but then you'll see 10 or so one star reviews and you wonder what is going on. It really is hard to find an actual good dentist absent a personal recommendation. Blue Pearl (and Dr. Amna Hussain) were absolutely fantastic. They use really cutting edge tech to x-ray, photograph and diagnose. The pain of visiting the dentist is actually gone. Dr. Amna made it a point to vocalize everything she was about to do and why, which was cool and calming. The entire visit wasn't expensive at all (no insurance here) and Dr Amna made it a point to take the entire process I'm involved in slowly so we can take the proper course, which was appreciated. Overall, great visit. If I were to make the most minor of complaints, maybe there are too many text messages prior to visit, but I think that's a ZocDoc thing and my own thing about getting too many messages.

Thankfully I got to DTLA Dental on time because they told me that all 4 of my wisdom teeth had severe cavities in them and needed to be extracted. And I know what you're thinking, so many dental places recommend wisdom teeth extraction to make money but not here. They were recommending me other Oral Surgeons to go to because they just really wanted me to get it taken care of. Unfortunately I'm stupid and lazy and did not get it taken care of so the doctor took it into her own hands and after I visited for another cleaning, was like "ima just do these top two myself since you still haven't gone to the OS". It was gross. Took the poor doctor 20+ minutes to extract one tooth because my wisdom tooth was rotted and decayed so much that it kept chipping away and breaking into pieces. I saw the tooth that was pulled out afterwards and not even joking, it looked like a shark tooth with how pointy and jagged and broken apart it looked. ew. I was ready for a terrible consultation considering how long it had been. My diagnosis wasn't bad at all - a couple of small cavities they wanted to keep an eye on, and a teeth cleaning that actually was done well and fairly pain free. The price was reasonable, and they didn't upsell me on anything and I got an appointment for 6 months down the line. They gave me some great advice - recommending a waterpik which I got right away. I ended up making an appointment for my husband and he had the same experience. We're happy to have found our regular dentist now!
