Fast, easy pickup! Got exactly what I wanted. Good quality chicken, nice sauce-- subtle flavor but classic

What a hidden gem! I found Kuno when I was vacationing in the area and was interested in trying some good Asian food. Kuno meets the mark! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant isn't too large, but has an intimate, luxurious aesthetic. The bar area is dim and relaxing, great for date nights! The dining area is cozy and not too cramped. I enjoyed sitting next to the window and people watching![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My server was very friendly and quick. He catered to my needs and provided prompt, but attentive service. I ordered the Korean Wings, Pork Dumplings, and Pad Thai. The wings were some of the best Korean wings I've ever had. I am usually suspicious when it comes to Korean chicken wings, because they're usually far too spicy and coated in too much breading. Kuno has the perfect balance! The breading was light and didn't take away from the star of the show: the sauce! The sauce is spice forward but ends with a sweetness that is incredibly cohesive. They make for a great appetizer alongside the pork dumplings. Those seared dumplings are SO yummy and I enjoyed the dipping sauce it came with. The taste reminds me of soup dumplings. It has a rich, velvety, umami flavor that is to die for. The Pad Thai was also great! Not as spicy as I'd expected, and came with WAY more bean sprouts than I'd hoped. However, the flavor is delicious and it's a huge portion size. I added shrimp and chicken to mine, as it usually only has tofu. I highly recommend Kuno. Whether you dine in or order take out, you will be satisfied!

Char Kway Teow and Nasi Goreng

One of the best meals I've had lately! We ordered the Brussels sprouts, nasi goreng, and char kway teow and all were excellent and full of flavor. Additionally, prices are very reasonable and it's easy to find free street parking around the restaurant. This place is such a hidden gem.

This place deserves more customers! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was only one other table on a Friday night but most of us were Asian, so you know the food is going to be good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a small menu but everything looked like solid options. We enjoyed the Char Kway Teow (chewy wide noodles with shrimp, Chinese sausage and bean sprouts) and stir-fry ground chicken with basil and a fried egg. The noodle dish was like elevated Pad See Ew and we loved the sweet-saltiness of the sausage. The stir fry had a wonderful spiciness level - not too much to overpower the flavors of the dish. Great prices too. If we lived here, we'd be regulars.

We love this place! A little off the trendy beaten tracks (of Washington Ave and the Commercial St. waterfront) but well worth the trip. We have spent time in Singapore (probably the best place to eat in the world...) and it is so nice to have authentic food from Southeast Asia here in Portland. The char kway teow (fried wide rice noodles (++) with shrimp) and the chicken wings are especially good, but everything we ordered was authentic and delicious! Our son LOVED their chicken sandwich. Very reasonably priced too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do a pretty good takeout business, but we really like the ambience of the place; it doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is very nice -- simply and comfortably appointed -- for sit-down dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The small staff is extremely nice (and efficient!

The place small, quaint and perfect for a rainy day comfort food. (Pictured below) We both really enjoyed our food and proportions.

Fabulous Thai food in a great space to sit and eat, and also a beautiful bar. Sophisticated setting with reasonable prices. Loved the Thai basil lemonade, Pad Thai was fresh and not dried out, all the food was as good as New York. An added plus was the classic big band music in the background, not too loud, just right.

Mr. Tuna is one of three Open Table Exclusive restaurants in Maine, so most every local Chase Reserve card member uses their twice yearly $150 credit here, which explains my visit. The people watching from the outdoor tables on Middle Street must be some of the best in the city. You could easily sip a glass of sake (the dreamy clouds was...dreamy) while eating a toro maki roll and marveling at the tourists waiting in a two hour Eventide line. But we ordered the lemongrass fried tofu salad, salmon toro sashimi and 3 maki rolls, including the green crab special. Everything tasted fresh and excellent with only Yosaku in the same league for Old Port sushi. Of course Yosaku is much more authentic Japanese than Mr. Tuna, though Mr. Tuna is more fun. Like most trendy Portland restaurants, lunch for two with a couple drinks each is $200 all in (get that Chase card!). Still, this is a huge, inventive menu with a great bar program and is one of the surprisingly better summertime outdoor seating options.

Glad we got this to add some veggies to the meal - salmon toro: nothing spectacular, but still tasted great - special (curried green crab rolls): was looking forward to this but a bit disappointed. I don't think curry is great with sushi rolls - Mr tuna burrito: in my mind this was going to be a burrito with a tortilla, but to my surprise it was basically a giant sushi roll. The braised and crisped pork belly (Buta No Kakuni) here was some of the best I have ever had. Also, getting a bite with the kewpie, pickled onion, and pork belly all in one shot is chefs kiss. It doesn't even need all the supporting characters, but it makes it that much better. Slightly overshadowed by the pork, I also got an onigiri. It was filled with chicken and chives. Overall I thought the onigiri was decent. Chicken and chive wouldn't be my top filling but it was tasty nonetheless and still worth trying! I like that they griddle it slightly to help it hold its structure instead of using a piece of nori. Good, old fashioned, fun. It's good for kids. It's good for drunken twenty-somethings outside of Fore Street bars. It's good for tourists. It's good for those of us with a sweet tooth who need a fix but don't want to spend a lot of money. And it's good for those of us who like the idea of s'mores, but maybe don't want to purchase all the ingredients to make them ourselves, because... let's face it... there's always half a box of graham crackers leftover (and seriously, what does anyone ever do with those?). It's run by a staff of fun-loving folks. And they've got fire. So, basically, it appeals perfectly to most people's inner child. There's only two things that prevent me from giving The Marshmallow Cart full marks: 1. Marshmallows are typically made with gelatin. Gelatin is typically made from animal by-products (think bones, skin, and tendons). I don't know (but would update this in a heartbeat if I did) if The Marshmallow Cart makes their marshmallow's with gelatin or if they're vegetarian-friendly and use guar gum, agar agar, or pectin. That being said, as a vegetarian, I'm not exactly rushing to get back here for this particular product. 2. THE WAFFLES ARE DELICIOUS. They sooooooo remind me of my Spanish gofres, but... The Marshmallow Cart doesn't have icing for them. I think the only options are marshmallow or nutella. Allow me a Veruca Salt moment, if you will: I WANT ICING. AND I WANT IT NOW. I would come out of my way for this if it was available. Maybe I should just start carrying my own bottle of it around in my purse? The point... if you like marshmallows (and don't have a plant-based diet), s'mores, waffles (sans icing), fire, and smiling... The Marshmallow Cart will not disappoint.

My friend had a salad to start, that had a lot of different flavors to it -- a mix of fruit and greens and fennel and... and... For my taste, it was a little too-too. But it was fresh as everything else we had was. Server was super nice and accommodating - we chose to sit outside, and it started raining. Heads up -- only a few of the outdoor tables fit under the glass awning, and the covering doesn't cover completely. So I'd definitely recommend going when there's a lower chance of rain. One other thing I'll add around ambiance is that the area for dishes/plates is right by the back door, and the sprayers are loud. Made it a bit difficult to hear at times but I imagine it's not an issue (or is less of an issue) if you sit inside. But for the pizza itself? Go.

Technically it's a food truck with a giant outdoor seating area, but the bar is the highlight. With Truly on tap in addition to frozen cocktails, this is more a drinking venue than eating. The crowd was upscale 20's and 30's, basically replacing Blyth & Burrow as the place to be seen. There is no better outdoor drinking venue in Portland at this time, though after further visits here, it's a bit of a free-for-all and not the most Covid friendly. At least it's entirely outdoors. So why four stars? The food didn't wow me. You're paying for the view, basically. While the chickpea fries were good, an order of maybe eight of them for $17 was not. It's an average, pricey menu. The traditional Evo is far better. Still, forget Porthole, PLC or the best outdoor venues from previous summers. In this weird and crazy 2020 summer, Evo-X is the place to be, trust me.

The problem is the complete lack of organization or anyone in charge. At least on our visit on a weeknight, it was a free-for-all. I'm not one to dole out advice on here, as there are usually extenuating circumstances and I figure they know best, and likewise during this pandemic, I place just as much blame on customers not being very bright. So, a simple change: They need a host. There was a lady sort of doing that, but all she really was doing was making sure people were wearing masks (better than nothing!). After that, it's seat yourself with no guidance, so lots of picnic tables with 1 person sitting there (we stood at a barrel for lack of seats), and probably worst of all, the bar stool seating facing the water was totally unregulated. You have to space that out or give patrons some clear restrictions. People were just sitting down right next to other strangers with zero distance which just doesn't fly for me these days. Get a host, have them take names and phone numbers, and have them seat people. Maybe they do that on weekends, or at least I hope so. Beyond that the bartender was super nice, but with how interesting the food is, hoped for a little more on cocktails and beer selection. We had planned on dinner but ended up staying for one drink, one snack and getting the hell out of there. I get the laid-back, marina vibe they're going for but in these times is way too laid-back, i.e. sketch. Maybe we'll give it another try in the fall when there's less people around.
