This place was a last-minute find on my trip to Portland, and I am so glad we found it. We came for lunch and the service was so quick and friendly. We ordered downstairs and went upstairs to find a table. The dining area was so well decorated and felt sophisticated without being pretentious. I loved the lighting and moody vibe of the place. On top of that, the food is BOMB. We got the hot lemon chicken, the beef sirloin salad, and the Mee katang. The hot lemon chicken was crispy, lightly breaded, moist inside, and had great flavor. We devoured this dish so fast. If you love taiwanese popcorn chicken or karage I would highly recommend this dish. (8/10) The beef sirloin salad was super well seasoned and I loved the tangy and bright dressing. It helped to balance the meal with the other heavier dishes. The sirloin was tender and the vegetable were super fresh and crunchy. This reminded me of a vietnamese style salad and i loved it. (8.5/10) The mee katang was super unique. I loved the 5 spiced black bean sauce and the wider noodle for this dish. I love the veggies and the stir fried eggs and even the baby corn which I am not usually a fan of. (8/10) I am not super familiar with Cambodian food, but this place has definitely inspired me to find more Cambodian spots to try. The experience genuinely made me feel like I was in a casual restaurant in Asia where there's that unique metal table and no-frills chairs. This is the place you'll take friends when you want an easy night out but still make it fun. Straightforward, friendly service. Cocktails are creative, the coconut pandan mojito was extremely refreshing in comparison to the umami-forward dishes. The twice-fried chicken was notable, the caramelization made it so savory. The fresh spring rolls were also good, with shrimp, pork belly, chicken as additional fillings. My favorite dish of the night was easily the house noodle soup. The braised beef was melt-in-your-mouth good and the broth was incredibly savory. The Mee Katang was the second runner up - I love a short rib with a wide noodle. Did not have any issues with signage/ordering food/seating - there was a clear sign that said dinner upstairs, take out downstairs and someone upstairs was shepherding people to tables. Looking for the "finest" Cambodian cuisine in Portland? The answer is Oun Lido. Eating in? Order downstairs, find a table upstairs in their super relaxed space, and they'll bring you your food. Ordering takeaway? You can do it online, and pick it up from their express counter. Vegan? Lots of good dishes (and everything, including gluten-free options and spice level, is clearly labeled). I had an order of the banh chao fresh rolls (coconut scallion rice crepes filled with shiso, mint, carrot, daikon, cukes, lettuce, peace shoots) with the lemon herb sauce. Which had an unexpected and delightful kick to it; I loved the heat and ended up pouring that sauce all over the vegan kuyteav cha (rice noodles with fried tofu, pineapple, veggies, and ginger garlic oil) I got! Other veg options: the fried green beans (with maple tamari and salted bean sauce), phsaet ang (oyster mushroom skewers with a cashew green sauce and papaya pickles), neorm (a vermicelli noodle salad) specifically with fried tofu, and mi goreng (fried dry wheat noodles with sweet soy curry, chili oil, gai lon pickled shiitake and bean sprouts, lime; ask for it be vegan to omit the egg). While the food was good, the staff was the best part. Smart, clever, funny, fast, friendly, genuine; it was one of the realest interactions I've had at a restaurant in a long time. He went above and beyond checking things were vegan, making amazing recommendations, asking thoughtful questions to my friend about her spice tolerance. He even came upstairs to check in on us. A pleasant surprise type of place. I wanted to try it out but my husband was skeptical as none of us tried Cambodian food before and had no idea what to expect. They have a pho type noddle dish, which is probably the best pho I've had. The broth is so flavorful without being heavy. Got another one with rice and meat, also very delicious. My husband usually is not a fan of fish sauce but liked their version. We were both very glad we tried it out and would recommended this place for sure. read more

We were wandering around on a Sunday, passing by different restaurants and checking out menus. As we were reading the menu posted on the window, an elusive man suddenly appeared behind it, flashed a huge smile, and gave us 2 thumbs up. We took it as a sign and went in--he disappeared, but I'm glad he guided us here lol This restaurant has multiple floors. You order downstairs and then head upstairs for self-seating. The lighting is dim, kinda romantic, pretty cozy. We chose a window seat for some natural light The food came out quickly, and the guy working there was attentive. In mid-October, my fiancé and I stumbled upon this Cambodian restaurant during our trip to Portland. As a fellow Cambodian, I was thrilled to try this restaurant and share the cuisine with my significant other. We met the owner, Chef Bones, and he was very welcoming and shared his background on why he wanted to open the restaurant. I like that he's putting his own personal twist on traditional dishes. For example, through his combination of creativity and talent, he was able to combine my favorite foods: Banh Xeo and spring rolls! The fish sauce to pair was equally delicious. The restaurant was clean, warm, and inviting. I especially enjoyed the Angkor Wat painting, which is a Cambodian decoration staple. It made me feel like I was back home, enjoying a home cooked meal by my Mak Yey (Grandma). I'm so happy I could support a local business (and practice speaking Khmer with the owner)! Can't wait to be back here. One other note-at dinner a couple of hours later, in a separate location, I happened to meet another Cambodian in town...and she also recommended Oun Lido's! The hot lemon chicken is 10/10. We got a few appetizers and shared, more than enough food for the three of us and it was all fantastic. I'm looking forward to going back and getting an entree (if I hadn't already filled up on lemon chicken, the Mi Goreng was calling my name). What a surprise. This restaurant is barely noticeable as you walk the streets of Portland. If you wander inside you see that you order at a counter, so you start to wonder if the food is good and where you can sit. Then you go upstairs and find plenty of seating in the dining area, with water and utensils that you set up yourself. When the food comes you get the real surprise. Wonderful flavors, the best potstickers I have ever had, lemon chicken that melts in your mouth and tingles your tongue with spice. The food at Oun Lido's is unbelievably good. You won't be disappointed!! WHAT WAS GREAT: - The Bao Bfast Sandy (folded, egg, char siu bacon... yum) - Lemon Chicken (fried chicken with major flavor. This is NOT the bland, unseasoned, boiled lemon chicken you're used to.) - Mi Goreng (noodle stir fry with fried egg and mushrooms in a sweet and tangy sauce) - Fried Rice (I expected this to be bland, but was also PACKED with flavor. So good. Douse yours in lime!) - The Slushies (we tried the Guava one--yum! Just like a fruit smoothie). - The fresh roll (classic rice paper/fresh veggies combo) - The service (very friendly and quick) WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED (Said with love): - Signage - it's unclear at first that you order downstairs and dine upstairs. Many diners assumed that you seat yourself and wait to have someone take your order, but you order first and then head upstairs and sit wherever you please. One sign at the entrance could make this clear! Same with bathroom signage. Many folks were (somehow) getting turned around. - Silverware/chopsticks -- it'd be nice if there were a designated place to grab what you need, whether it be utensils or whatnot - Water - the water is randomly at the (nonfunctional) bar, but again, it should be at the clearly marked, designated spot along with the silverware, for example (think: Crunchy Poke, Off Track) - The lighting - the lighting is extremely dark, and not in a flattering way. What little lighting there is is extremely unflattering and harsh. It makes it hard to see, but was also is blinding at times. Remove the overhead lighting and invest in small, battery-operated table lamps with warm bulbs. - The ambience - I assume this place is better for takeout (again, because the food is fantastic), because the chairs/tables are oddly spaced, uncomfortable, and again, are bathed in darkness. - Staffing - for how popular this place was on a Friday night (and for good reason), I felt bad that our waitress (who was both taking orders from a long line of customers AND serving everyone their food) was running around nonstop all night. Adding on a designated server while also having a cashier would make everything run much smoother. That being said, our food still came out super quick, and we ordered a lot, so props to whoever was running the show. All this being said: you MUST try Oun Lido's! We will be talking about this spot for years to come for all the right reasons. The food is amazing and the people great, the spot is evolving--- it's going to be something!! Small menu, curious dishes (lemon chicken is a MuST!!) the wheat noodle dish w egg was phenomenal. Staff was attentive, hustling and really engaging. I cannot wait to see what happens w the old Pats space. It's cold (like, ate w coats on), needs more tables and real chairs, but they will figure it out. A bar is coming and maybe a lounge-y area upstairs. They have all the fixings for a huge success, cannot wait to see the lines outside and am so glad to have gone before they happen! read more

We went in around 3pm on a Sunday. A non-peak hour because we wanted to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere. And we did! We have a 1 1/2 year old who roamed around a bit upstairs but was accommodated by the very friendly staff. Bunna, our waiter, gave us some tips on the menu and recommendations and everything was good. He also took some pictures of our family and taught us a bit about Cambodian cuisine which was fun. We sampled a variety of plates but my favorite was I believe called the Mi Goreng (the spicy chili noodles). As someone who enjoys spicy food and has sampled different chilis (Chinese, Indian, Mexican), I loved how the flavor profile was unique in that dish. I would say its a must try for someone who likes spicy food who lives near Portland or is in the area and has time. The coffee was also very, very good. Came in around 6:45ish on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all! Looks like this place just opened up and added seating upstairs. It's easy to miss the place because there's no official sign, but look for the restaurant name on the outer window panel. You order at the counter for dine-in and take out orders and seating is upstairs if needed! There's also some pastries and bread on the front case! We got the Banh Chao Fresh Roll, Hot Lemon Chicken and Mee Kathung + some iced tea and coffee. Everything came out hot and fresh. Loved the freshness of the crunchy veggies and the herbs in the fresh roll. It also came with a lime/peanut fish sauce dipping sauce. The hot lemon chicken had a nice heat and crunch that paired well with the juicy chicken thigh. The beef in the mee kathung was braised with something soy/five spice-based? It tasted very star anise/clove forward and with the noodles, tasted savory, slight sweet and smoky. All in all, looking forward to seeing this place flourish as it expands its dining space! Came in for a quick bite before work and to check out the space. Was a bit confused where the dining room was but the employees were super helpful and kind. The dining room is very moody and a great space to tuck away from the holiday crowds. Seems a bit unfinished but with all the potential space, excited to see what's in store! I ordered the bao breakfast sando. The pork was the best bite, sweet and tender. The mayo was a bit overkill with the buttered roll and cheesy egg but overall very filling for the price. My husband and I were able to get through about half our meals; we like spicy food but the sour, meaty, tangy, sweet notes were also turned up to eleven. We questioned whether this was authentic Cambodian, or a gen z reworking. And almost all the entrees are noodle dishes, and they are just under the price of an average lobster roll. read more
