The restaurant is sitting on the corner of Pelham Parkway and County Road 68 East, across from The Foundry Superthrift Outlet and Dollar General, and next door to TherapySouth. It is a nice sized place and the atmosphere is welcoming. I was helped by Dyron, who seemed like he never knew a stranger. He was so kind to everyone, including those on the phone. I even heard him say, "So we got your dad covered - what can I get started for YOU?" He was excited when he found out I was a "newbie". I love the menu. Each item has some form of "hit" in the name - slappin', crackin', slammin', and more. I ended up with the "Bussin' Burger" and a side of fries to go (since I was heading back to work). The food is cooked upon ordering, so my meal was nice and hot when I left. And I am here to tell you, the name of the burger was totally accurate! It was delicious - seasoned very well, and the perfect amount of toppings. The fries were good, but that burger - so good! No wonder Hit Different is a 2026 Shelby County Small Business of the Year Nominee! They deserve it and then some! And the special sauce turns out to be a combo of the Original and Red Sauce Carlile makes. They do offer it bottled at the register if you want to take some home. We also split a pint of their hand-cut fries for the table. Added some cookies at the end since we didn't have time for the pudding or pie, but they looked fantastic. Only opened about a month, this Qdoba is near 65 and in a small shopping strip right off Montgomery Highway. They share the strip with Wing Stop, ATI Physical Therapy and Baskin Robbins ice cream with an Einstein Bagels being built nearby. Parking can be limited during busy times. The interior is pretty standard but since it was new, everything looked clean and immculate. You start at one end, choose your favorite bowl, burrito, tacos, quesadilla, or salad. You "watch" as you move down the line towards the cash register. Meanwhile, you request how you want your food "assembled" as you go down the line and pick your ingredients. There's tables and chairs with raised versions scattered throughout with a soda and tea station on one side of the restaurant. There's a prominent "pickup" shelf for mobile and delivery orders as I suspect Qdoba will be very popular for quick lunches. They also stay open late until 10 pm every night of the week. I tried the bowl with citrus lime shrimp. I chose white rice, beans, salsa, corn, cheese, shredded lettuce, then topped it off with fresh jalapenos, cilantro, and guac. What's a big difference between Qdoba and their competitors Chiptole and Moe's? The guac at Qdoba is FREE! That's right you heard me. Free! The cook on the shrimp had a nice zest and was perfect. Everything in my bowl was fresh and delicious as I tossed it all together before eating. Yom Yom Yom Yom. Qdoba prides themselves on taste, quality and freshness. They only *cook* what they need and put it out on the line when needed. This was explained to us by the store's owner as he walked around greeting customers.
