    Bowl of the Gods

The bowl of the gods was a nice healthy treat. Sweet but not too sweet, and completely smooth with no hard parts in the entire bowl. Service was nice and fast. It was clean.

Blackberry cobbler smoothie - so good!!!

I love Kure. Some of their menu items are kind of strange and I will read the ingredients and think that sounds weird and I don't think I would like that. But then if I try it it ends up being absolutely delicious lol. Just trust them! Today I ordered the blackberry special smoothie and it was so good!! I also love the apple oatmeal when I want something hot.

Nice enough juice but really limited menu. They could be a bit more creative but the Green Elemonator and Lush Life we ordered were tasty enough. Disappointed to see all the single use plastics, apparently they had paper straws before but made the executive decision to be less sustainable. Overall if someone else suggested going I'd probably be up for it, but wouldn't go back on my own.

Small bowl of the gods. Note, it has peanut butter so it's less tart than a traditional acai.

Cute tasty açaí place. Got a bowl of the gods, I like how it comes with peanut butter, extra protein. The seating area is also great, a sheltered patio.

3.5/5 I know this is a chain that is present all throughout Portland, but this one is by far the best choice to go to because of the easy parking situation (easy residential parking nearby, you don't have to keep circling the blocks downtown trying to find parking at the other Kure locations - we all know the Portland struggle of circling over and over again and eventually giving up...) Came here today on a sunny Sunday afternoon, mid 70s weather, aka perfect acai bowl weather. Pros: - really great tasting bowl - I got the Sunnyside (it's the one that doesn't have peanut butter, I think there's only 2 bowls on the menu) - It comes in a regular size bowl, with strawberries, bananas, granola, etc. Very tasty, and it satisfied this craving I had for the past couple weeks with this sunny weather - Nice outdoor but shaded seating area, perfect for May/summer weather (there's a nice picnic table in the back of the small patio area that I really liked), enough chairs for people waiting for their smoothies to sit and chill. - location - again, difficulty parking is my biggest Portland pet peeve, which is why this location is literally the best (I literally went to 3 other locations this same day but the parking situation was horrendous, and the one on Taylor was closed!) - Good service - the food came out really fast, like 5 mins after we ordered. Cons: - kind of pricey. My bowl was $9.75, and it wasn't a huge bowl (I would say perfect size of mid-afternoon snack between lunch and dinner). I know that it's hard for businesses right now, but as a consumer I wish the price was like $8.50 at most, $8.00 if possible. Maybe I'll feel differently about this when I become a millionaire, but this pricing is rough for a struggling grad school student. - The acai was a little too watery for me, I kind of wish it was a little thicker. It did taste amazing, but it felt like I was eating fruit and granola that was sitting in acai soup. I really was conflicted on whether to give this a 3 or a 4 because of my complaints regarding the prices, but I haven't had the smoothies yet, and perhaps they're more worth the money? I think I'll come here more often when I'm rich...

This sweet little bungalow of healthy goodness! Full five stars. First, props to the one man show working the whole thing efficiently the morning I came. He was taking orders and making all of the food and smoothies himself, and it truly was quick. We came here in the morning and I wanted something that seemed filling. I opted for the Green Eliminator and had no regrets whatsoever. I am always worried about juice being too sweet and this one wasn't at all. I am so glad my friends brought me to this location with all of its cute patio vibes. Healthy eats are all over Portland, but you definitely want to make this a stop!

The new SE Hawthorne location is great! Great/fast service, delicious food, fun music, and the AC kept it cool in the early summer heat.

Have had better. The spot down the street is way better and more allergy friendly. I also dislike no cash options.

While it's a retail market with fresh fruit and veggies, a high quality butcher counter, deli, pantry items, spices, grains and beans, and premade meals, the bulk of their business is supplying to hundreds of local restaurants. During and after Covid, many of these restaurants went out of business which affects the entire supply chain. Sheridan's has suffered. Additionally, suppliers have raised their prices and residential shopping in the area has greatly decreased. All these factors combined have had serious consequences to this once thriving market. Sadly. When I stopped in earlier this month to buy escarole, a green leafy veg for Italian wedding soup, I was shocked to find most of the shelves bare. I was heartbroken, actually. This gem of a store has enabled me to make all of my favorite Italian dinners because they carry ingredients that most other stores don't. I'm from an Italian family and lived my entire life in NJ until moving to Portland in 2000. The first fall, when the weather chilled and I was craving Italian Wedding Soup, escarole was not available anywhere. Thankfully I found Sheridan's and have been a loyal customer ever since. I am doing my best to support them by buying my produce and veggies there, plus whatever other items I can find that I need. It is challenging since their shelves are not stocked, which means I buy what I can at Sheridan's and supplement from another grocery store. But that's what you do to help a business in need. Please, if you live in the area, buy what is available and help them through this very difficult time. Sheridan's is such a gem and it would be a tremendous loss to Portland to lose this market.

Their wine bar is fantastic, and good-priced, and it was fun to watch the last of the World Cup here today. If you're looking for something special or hard to find, this is the place, much like the old Pastaworks was on Hawthorne. They really shine on their produce, pasta and fresh meats here, and there's always something new, but I love that you can count on the bakery for your focaccia and other fresh breads. Cheese case is like Rue Cler, Paris--so much selection and they will tell you about each one of them. Don't be afraid to just ask a lot of questions. I wish that they did some little items in the bakery, one of my fondest memories from childhood was going to Pastaworks with my dad and getting a breadstick, probably eating it before we even paid (we did), as we strolled around, and where's the peanut sauce for pasta, another favorite of the old days, yup, I'm old. Can't say enough good things about this place, it can add up though as others have mentioned, but, if you keep to a list or just slow the roll on the impulse buy, it's actually reasonable and you know you're getting what you're paying for. I've never regretted a purchase here or thought it unfair. I mean, it says Fine Foods right there in the name...:) Thank you for the amazing ingredients for dinner tonight, cheers!

I lived walking distance from People's Co-op circa 2004 where I lived right across from the now defunct all vegan coffeeshop aka Red and Black. In 2004-2005 I was a working member cleaning the bulk bins as my seva aka service. This is where I first started teaching yoga at the community room upstairs at People's Co-op. Dusty started the program that sadly is no longer currently active. They had some great classes there and have fond memories of a Iyenger influenced yoga teacher that taught classes I liked. This was when I was teaching classical hatha yoga and had not yet shifted my yoga teaching to the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition. Fast forward to the moment of Jun 20223. It's the return and went to People's Co-op. It still is an amazing place. They have a farmer's market here every Wed. Their bulk selection is amazing (see my photos) and so is there produce.
