Good steak, probably the best in the area, especially for the price. Pretty bad decor, friendly wait staff, great fish fry. My favorite dish is the shrimp scampi, a great mix of garlic, fresh parmesan, butter and lemon. The only thing that could improve the dish would be peeled shrimp. read more

I had the finest Surf and Turf dinner I have ever had in my life last Friday. The Tenderloin and Lobster were cooked to perfection and their size was wonderfully satisfying. Delicious. So were the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms and Coconut Shrimp appetizers. The service was excellent also. I am originally from Wisconsin but live in Denver, CO now. Wow! What a great dinner. Visiting The area for work with a client and had a craving for steak. Was kinda miffed initially when the hostess stated we had a 20 minute wait; especially as we looked around and noticed 6 to 8 open tables..... I almost suggested to pass on the wait, but my client said he didn't mind eating at the bar, luckily for us. The Brewers were playing, thus I said OK. Huge huge PLUS,,, because Erica, the bartender was awesome!! She has a magnetic and Inspiring personality, fun loving, whitty, intelligent, attentive, gorgeous and makes an excellent Martini (wish I drank one though), did I say gorgeous, oooops, I meant stunning!!!! She made our dinner memorable, to say the least. Crab Stuffed Mushrooms were terrific and my steak was cooked perfectly. Can't wait to come back. Hopefully soon. I've eaten at Kurts a number of times and have never gone away disappointed. They do a good job on steaks, and the prices are a good value. Ambiance, well, there really isn't. It is an old school Wisconsin supper club atmosphere, in an old house that has been added onto and repurposed as a restaurant. Tables are a bit closer together than one would like. Service on every visit has been very good, friendly and efficient. I see Kurts as a really good place to go on a regular basis, maybe not so much on special occasions. read more

I wish Kurt's was open for lunch because me and my sis like to day drink and order seafood appetizers. It's our thing. Anywoo, Ward's has excellent prices for an upscale and intimate steakhouse. As everyone says their onion soup is out of this world! It's rich, not salty and real cheesy. Their small filet is a screaming deal at less than $25. I also like their calamari and oysters rockefeller. I have a bet with my sis that Sophia Loren ate those all the time back in the 70's. It's all good here. Great date place. We go to Kurt's for most special occasions and we live in Edgerton, which is an hour away. We would go even more often if we lived closer. Our steaks are always perfect and tender. The parmesan au gratin potatoes are amazing and the parmesan peppercorn dressing for the salad is delicious. The prices are reasonable and the wait staff is always very friendly. This has been our favorite restaurant ever since we discovered it about 12 years ago. All of the food is superb, especially the rolls! Their calamari is the best we have ever had anywhere, including outside of this state. The staff, too, is delightful. Lots of good service and humor. Kurt's main bartender, Brian, ( who remembers everyones drink) makes sitting at the bar fun. We love Kurt's Steak House because the food and service are great. The atmosphere is just casual enough to make you feel at home, without being TOO casual; it's unpretentious and welcoming. There is a long, cozy bar, and tables scattered through several rooms on 2 different levels. We try to sit in Carrie's section; she is a terrific server who will take great care of you! We've never had a bad meal at Kurt's. Some of our favorites are the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer, the steaks (all of them are good, but we are partial to the rib eye and the center cut filet), garlic mashed potatoes, and the basic house salad which has a little bit of everything--lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber, thinly julienned carrot and beet . . . Honestly, I think you could order just about anything on the menu and be very satisfied. It is our go-to local restaurant. read more

Very supper-clubby, with a paneled house decor and old pictures of Marilyn Monroe on the walls! We had heard the food was great, so wanted to try it. Couldn't get past the Luv It pats of butter on the tables, and the marginal service. My husbands ribs were a little burned. I went to this restaurant in the recommendation of a friend. It is an old school super club in an old house. From the outside not the best looking but inside very warm and inviting. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, lobster bisque, and filet Oscar. The mushrooms had a great flavor but I wasn't convinced it was real crab meat. The lobster bisque was OK, very salty and no lobster meat to be found. The filet was prepared well but again I wasn't convinced the crab was real. Also, the bearnaise sauce was very greasy and congealed. I was not that impressed but the meal was OK. I will say their dinner rolls were amazing... Almost seemed fried. In the past did not have a great experience but it has been years so we gave it another try. Wonderful supper club ambience. Best French onion soup we have had outside of France. Salad or soup and bread all included. Petite filet topped with amazing mushrooms and onion hat stack. I dropped my steak knife and was able to finish using butter knife. Steak tender and perfectly cooked to medium as I requested. Staff was very friendly. Wonderful date night. We will return. So glad we gave kurts another chance! read more

Expected a nice steak dinner - was severely underwhelmed at both the food and the staff. The salad was nothing. It's ridiculous that there is really no potato option. You get this small ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes. Basically you get nothing but a steak. Not a good steak by ant means. Steak was under cooked and tasteless. I've came here before with my family. The food is overpriced and not very good. They have a tacky mural that belongs more in a Vegas buffet then in Delafield. I absolutely hate how they require you to valet park on the weekends. The restaurant is also extremely packed as they don't have a lot of room to work with. read more

I made a reservation about an hour before, I know they get busy. I took my wife and youngest son for a fish fry and it was delicious. We all opted for the Battered Cod. The portions of fish were nice and thick and enough that we had to take some home. The Tartar sauce was fantastic as well as the fresh rolls! We each had different sides, garlic mashed potatoes, fries and baked. I had a ice cold pint of Octoberfest and my wife had a white wine that she enjoys. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. The hostess was great and seated us right away. Our server was pretty busy, but, still found time to take care of us. Atmosphere definitely takes you back to classic supper club, it's pretty cool. Clothing is casual, but decent. I've alway's loved Kurt's steaks, and almost ordered one again... but had to go with the Fish Fry. Next time I will try the Baked Cod or possibly get a steak, who knows. Price was worth it. read more

Very upsetting service and dinner. Steak came out cold as an ice cube and when I sent it back it came back out well done when I had ordered rare. Wrong drink served and then was asked to leave our table before we even finished our drinks due to a party waiting to sit there! When we left we noticed only two people at the bar and no one waiting outside. Very rude service. Highly disappointed because I had once raved about this place. We have been going to Kurt's for 20 years and it is always a hit or miss. The first time we went, we were the first to arrive and they put us by the kitchen door. The servers are typically wonderful, but we have had to wait for our reservation at the bar for a half hour, courtesy of the hostess and that was at 5 pm with hardly anyone there. Sometimes the steak is out of this world and the next time it's tough. How do you make a rib eye tough? They currently have changed the wine menu which now excludes a popular brand that you can get anywhere at a good establishment. At the end of our meal they did not have the ingredients for anything but Grasshoppers and Brandy Alexanders to top the meal off. I understand the impact of Covid 19, but it would have come out to the purchase of one extra bottle for the bar for what I had always been able to get there in the past and look so forward to when we go to a steakhouse. A few years ago their blender for ice cream drinks had been broken for about three years before they purchased a new one??? I think in the future we will head into the city for an evening that more closely matches our expectations to what we end up spending on a meal. read more

I have been here a few times. The food may have been a little bit over spiced with salt but is was good enough for a return trip. The last time I went is the last time I will ever go again. I got a very poor quality steak that was mostly fat. They did an ok job of correcting that. The treatment from our server is the main reason we will never go back. We were basically told to hurry up and eat because they were very busy and people were waiting for a table. I eat out a ton and I have never heard a comment like this before. The management was not very helpful or apologetic when we told them what we heard from our waitress. For average food and a rude staff it's not worth a visit. read more

Took my sister for her birthday and had a wonderful time. The dinners were excellent. We had 2 petite steaks and 1 chicken piccata. The chicken piccata was one of the best I ever had. Both others stated the steaks were tender and both cooked perfectly rare. The hostess and waitstaff were excellent. If you are thinking about take-out from here, forget it. You will be a second class citizen. We appreciate a fish fry place that is not too far from home and like to support our local restaurants. We have dined in here many times before, but now we will take our business elsewhere. We tried to place take-out orders and failed at three separate attempts. The hostesses will refuse to take your order and have you "hold" for a server to do so. This would be just fine if they actually did. I waited on "hold" for over ten minutes. Their phone system circled me back through to the hostess after ten minutes who said "Please hold" after I mentioned take-out again. Obviously they don't care about good service. Thank goodness for Revere's who does fish fry take-out. Also a very busy place on Friday nights, ordering for two took only 45 seconds. Win - Win. read more

Let me start by saying I have been enjoying eating here for 15 years. Last night may well be the last for quite awhile. We arrived an hour prior to our reservation to enjoy the bar and staff. We were dumfounded to hear Brian was no longer working here. The bar is the personality of any fine dining restaurant and Kurts just lost theirs. The current staff is OK, but I can get OK at Chilli's. Not sure what this issue is and don't really care. We will spend our entertainment dollars elsewhere. read more
