Coming from a Filipino household, where my mom can cook anything and everything under the sun, of course I am biased. We normally don't eat Filipino food outside of my family because we can just call mom up and she can cook up some lumpia, pancit, and adobo just for lunch. We were craving some home cooked food and decided to try this spot based on reviews and on our way back to California. Do not sleep on this stop! The lumpia is made to order, hot and fresh. It doesn't get any fresher. The garlic rice tasted just like home and was an incredible portion. If you come from California a five piece lumpia with garlic rice would set you back $20 minimum The quality and the feeling of having a home-cooked meal that is affordable and generously portioned cannot be beat. I've been to Kusina de Maylina twice now and it's been amazing both times. It's an authentic Filipino restaurant in Kingman, and honestly one of the best food spots in the area. There aren't a ton of great restaurant options in Kingman, so this place really stands out and is definitely worth a visit if you're nearby! I ordered the pork barbecue with garlic rice, and it was so good. The pork was soft, tender, and packed with flavor, and I was completely obsessed with the garlic rice. I also tried the tamsis anghang, and the noodles were super flavorful with a perfectly cooked egg on top that brought everything together. It's a small, quaint spot and they've added seating so you can dine in comfortably. Quick service, very efficient! Their smoothies are really good too. When I discovered that Kingman has their very own Filipino restaurant, I was thrilled! However, the food is just okay, except for one item that knocked it outta the park. If you haven't had lumpia and like egg rolls you gotta try Kusina's lumpia. Overall, I think the restaurant has a lot of potential. Here's my take: Lumpia - This was delicious! I got catering from this restaurant and our group of 40 devoured it quickly. Chicken Adobo - Not enough soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, peppercorn, and garlic balance. I can barely taste the bay leaf flavor. Does this entree taste good ? Absolutely, but it isn't Chicken Adobo, in my opinion. I grew up in a Filipino Manila / Pampanga Family Culture with many different takes of Chicken Adobo. This dish I would say lacks the foundational base of Chicken Adobo, unfortunately. Bangus ( Milkfish ) Tapsilog - The fried rice and egg was delicious. The Bangus was surprisingly sweet. I'm use to a more garlic, spicy, and vinegar based fish. Family and I were on our way to Flagstaff and needed a place to stop and grab a bite to eat. Was craving something different than typical "roadtrip" food. Found this little place and decided to give it a try. The establishment itself is quaint and small. There were only a handful of tables to choose to sit at. They had menus for you to order from but you had to go up to there booth to order like you do at a fast food place. The service was very quick and the staff was friendly. The food came quick and wash delicious. Our groups favorite meal was the yellow curry (not pictured sadly). Everything we ordered came out quick and was hot. The lumpia was some of the best lumpia I have ever had. We went with the chicken instead of the pork option. Like most Filipino establishments, the portions are plentiful and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. Their dumplings were also fantastic. They had the right amount of filling and were not under-filled like some places I have visited in the past. The reason this doesn't get a 5/5 review is because they were completely out of noodles for the day and a lot of customers were disappointed including myself. We stopped at 11am so it was a bit disappointing. They also only serve you with plastic and styrofoam takeout containers even if you are dining in. The plastic cutlery is a bit hard to use depending on the dishes you get. If you are in town or just swinging on by, I recommended giving them a shot! Stopped here in Kingman on our way back out to Phoenix and this spot definitely has the best food! I had chicken pansit level 3 and it was perfect, flavorful and the perfect amount of spice for me. I usually order the drunken noodles spicy. Well yesterday I decided to try something different the yellow curry with beef. Big mistake, don't get me wrong the curry broth was tasty but that was literally all it was. It had a measly 5-6 pieces of the tiniest bits of beef and maybe a few strands of carrots and green onion. That's it !!! The rice that came with it was the smallest takeout box I've ever seen. Seriously if you're going to charge in the neighborhood of $20 you expect more than just broth and small rice. Decided to try due to other Yelp reviews. Not a connoisseur of Filipino food but this was authentic. Everything served hot and obviously just made to order. Vegetarian lumpia was crisp, tasty, not greasy. Pancit (choice of protein--i had tofu) was filled with veggies and also not greasy (my pet peeve of noodle dishes). Some other non-filipino dishes (like pad thai, thai iced tea) which were also good. Only negative was that all dishes served in styrofoam even if eating in, all cups, straws, eating utensils flimsy plastic. I found this place while looking on Yelp for somewhere to eat in Kingman. We ordered: Lumpia (4 pieces) Green curry (spicy level 1) Tocilog Basil chicken over rice Horchata milk tea with boba Strawberry iced tea Strawberry watermelon slush with boba The man at the register was very friendly and the woman who brought out our food was friendly as well and helpful. Since we were all sharing (my two daughters, husband and I) the woman gave us plates and bowls to dish out our food into. There is a seating area that you can eat at that is clean and comfortable. The lumpia was on point. Good ratio of meat to wrapper and with a standard spicy sweet sauce. The green curry was still spicy even though it was "level 1" but not too bad. The best plate we got was the basil chicken. The tocilog was ok until we dipped it into the sauce, then it became one of our favorites . The portion of each plate was definitely enough for two people. All of the drinks were awesome--the horchata milk tea is now my oldest daughter's favorite boba drink. The boba was nice and chewy and the drinks were not too sweet. Overall, we had such a good experience! We would love to come here again if we are ever passing near Kingman. ***I would recommend for people in a hurry and want their food quickly, call ahead because they make all of their food fresh. read more

Ordered the Tocilog and Turon for just under $18, waited around 20 minutes. Restaurant is take out only, with no tables and you pick up the order at the same counter you order at (definitely a hole in the wall gem). Interior is small and 90% kitchen, with enough space for approximately 6 people to stand in. Easily the best homestyle Filipino cuisine I've had from a restaurant in both states. Tocino was sweet and sticky, and its tangy sauce was emphasized with each dunk in the vinegar that was provided on the side. Garlic fried rice was incredibly comforting, and the fried egg was simply a great fried egg. The turon, which I found similar to a Vietnamese deep fried banana dessert, was crispy and delicious, with the caramel sauce on top complimenting with the rich sweetness of the banana and the oily egg roll wrap. If I ever find myself in Kingman again, it'll definitely be here! read more

The best Filipino food in the most unexpected place! Me and my wife came in as we were sightseeing the attractions on Route 66 and took a detour once we found this place on Yelp! At first we were super skeptical and didn't believe it even existed because usually we only find Filipino food in Vegas or LA but this spot is a hidden gem destination! The tita working was so kind and friendly and was also very patient which is amazing service! The dining room was super clean and the mural was awesome! Food: Pork Barbecue Skewer plate - this was the best Filipino barbecue sticks ive had outside of the Philippines! I don't know how they managed to do it but WOW I was blown away like I have not had good Pinoy food like that in a long time! The meat was so tender and well marinated not to forget the garlic rice was so good! 10/10!! Also the food is made to order as well so everything takes time and comes out fresh! We went in and ordered takeout for lunch yesterday. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly man who was very helpful and answered all of our questions about the menu. This is a super cute little restaurant (maybe 4 booths and 4 tables) with very colorful and welcoming decor. We ended up with chicken pancit, pork fried rice, bbq pork with garlic rice, fried pork belly, lumpia, and dumplings! Everything was delicious and my family had enough food for lunch AND dinner for about $75! I was very impressed with the freshness of the vegetables and the wonderful flavor combinations. Surprised to find Filipino cuisine while visiting Kingman and equally surprised at how good it was! Ordered the chicken pancit, pork lumpia, pork sisig, tapsilog and halo-halo and Taro and Tiger Bobas. The pancit was one of the tastiest and best I've had in quite awhile it was moist and plenty of veggies and chicken. Lumpia was tasty and had good amount of filling. Pleasantly surprised at this tasty find during our drive thru this portion of Route 66! My 7 y/o dtr & I throughly enjoyed our salmon teriyaki--the fish was perfectly pan-seared & there was a pleasant amount of sauce on the bed of rice (not drowning the rice or otherwise)! My partner very much enjoyed his pork BBQ over rice, too. We all enjoyed the lumpia (the pork option was well-seasoned, perfectly fried, & not greasy). The strawberry iced tea w/ lychee jelly was a nice substitution for my daily boba craving (I hesitated to get boba, since I just didn't want to be disappointed if the taste & texture weren't to my liking). Can't really go wrong with lychee jelly as a topping bc bc it always tastes the same!
