Came in based off reviews and we were not disappointed! Our server, Autumn, was amazing! She kept up with the orders and offered wonderful customer service. Everything she did, she did with a smile and kindness. Even when one of my kids accidentally spilled his drink, she was kind and caring about it. We ordered cheeseburgers, regular hamburger, short stack pancakes with a side egg, Jack Daniel's pork chop dinner, and French Dip sandwich. Everything was cooked perfectly! The hamburgers were flavorful and juicy. My oldest ate 2! While inside is not very big, they were able to accommodate 6 of us at a booth. I would highly recommend this quaint little gem on Route 66! On Route 66 this is the kind of breakfast I was expecting some simple and old school, the menu was easy and the coffee was delicious. Eggs, potatoes and bacon was my choice with sourdough toast bringing up the rear, with a dab of red salsa the dance of flavors proceeded. I can not even explain how wonderful this diner was. Everything was made fresh and flavorful. Our waitress Janean was so kind and helpful. And Louie! I'm going to be dreaming about that A1 burger for the rest of my life. My mom is NOT a fan of beef, finds it tough and dry and generally unpleasant to eat, but she's been telling everyone she knows about that Mushroom Swiss Burger. My grandmother ordered a salad but as soon as she saw our burgers she had it boxed up so she could order one too. The playlist was fun and the atmosphere is so nice, MUCH better than the touristy spot right on 66. So appreciative of Malia at the Kingman Route 66 gift shop for the recommendation. read more

It's a greasy spoon. I almost turned around and walked out to be honest with you when I saw two people in red Trump hats. Wasn't sure what I got myself into, but went ahead and went in. Got a California club sandwich that was freaking amazing and had a server who was really nice. Sure they could clean up the place if they wanted to make it look a little better but the food was excellent especially the chef with a handlebar mustache. Thank you. read more

Unassuming 50s-style diner with decent food. Portions are nicely sized and coffee is hot and made with freshly ground beans. I'm visiting Kingman, but I will say this is a "regulars" spot, where everybody knows your name. Old school booths make up a large portion of the restaurant and a HUGE counter seating also available. When one friend lives in California and another lives in Nevada, it only makes sense to meet in Kingman when friend 1 is on a road trip down I-40. So that is exactly what we did this past weekend. Unbeknownst to me, there are three places named Rutherford's in Kingman. Luckily we ended up at the same place. Just a fair warning to you readers in case you find yourself in a similar situation. I had been reviewing the menu before making the drive down from LV. I knew I wanted a Wellington sandwich. That is thin sliced prime rib with grilled mushrooms and onions topped with horseradish hollandaise. Sort of an upscale cheese steak with sauce instead of cheese. A good sandwich that I had to eat with fork and knife because there was no way I was going to be able to pick this thing up. It was quite good and the stuff that was left on the plate made for a good fry sauce. My friend and his wife both got breakfast plates. It was 8AM afterall. I'm the odd one out in this story (and others). But I tell you what, this place is a busy breakfast hot spot at 8AM on a Saturday. There was a line out the door by the time we were told to leave. Not in so many words but it was definitely hinted at that we were taking up space. We understood and freed up the table. Took our conversation out to the parking lot. Even that was getting crowded. So, if you're looking for a retro diner on Route 66, try Rutherford's 66. Good food. Good music. Fair service. A place to meet up and reconnect after too many years. Coming from Orange County, CA, I've eaten all kinds of food, but this restaurant is something else. We ordered the fries, steak, mushroom burger, and a root beer float. The staff were incredibly friendly and genuinely caring. We had some leftover eggs for the baby to go but forgot to take them with us. When we went back, they cooked two fresh eggs for us to take instead. Amazing food, amazing staff. This place is definitely going to be our go-to stop every time we pass by. read more

TY Rutherford's for providing us with a GREAT first time experience on route 66! TY Yelpers for steering us the right way. We stopped in on our way from Vegas to the GC. After reading reviews I knew what to expect. Hearty food, reasonably priced, great service in a historic spot. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly young man who offered us a seat & the bar or we were asked to wait just a few minutes for a booth. We opted to wait. This place was poppin! But as promised we were seated in less than 5 min. Our booth was clean and had everything we needed ie silverware w napkins and we were given menus by our host. The table had a colorful Route 66 logo on it. Very fitting and it jived well with the rest of the ol' school American diner decor. My hubby ordered the highly recommended Country Fried Steak breakfast and it was just as hearty, tasty and perfectly cooked as the reviews said it would be. I didn't have enough appetite for such a belly full so I had 2 scrambled eggs and coffee. My eggs were served hot as was my coffee. 2 VERY important musts for each am I right? The answer is Yes! Our server was incredibly busy BUT on it! Super friendly, zero mistakes and very accommodating. She was a sweetheart. Ambiance was super cool since the building is actually one of the original Denny's built in the 60's. The historical sentiment is pretty cool unlike these newer buildings that strive for bland and stagnant designs. I had the Denver omelet. It was good and fit the classic American breakfast dishes. WOW, this place is awesome! Stopped by on 10/26/24 for an early lunch and decided to stop by for some breakfast items, boy it did not dissapoint. This joint is defenitly a blast from the past. Traditional all American Dinner located right off the famous Route 66. Loved the ambiance considering where you are. Our waitress was extremely kind and helpful! She was on it the entire time and checked on us repeatedly which we appreciated greatly. Menu is good and extensive, a little bit for everyone. My wife and I shared the meal and ordered a ham steak plate and the cinnamon roll French toast and it was all INCREDIBLE! The ham steak was grilled to perfection was of great quality. Considering the serving size, it's worth the price. The cinnamon roll French toast are probably some of the best I have ever had, truly outstanding! This place really is a 10/10. If your in the area, make sure to check them out. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. I know forsure if I am ever in the area again, I will defenitly be stopping by again. Stopped in for the first time today and it will not be our last! The restaurant is clean and smells delicious even from outside!! We were greeted immediately and seated in a few minutes even though the place was PACKED! There are endless choices of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The staff never stops moving and all of them are very friendly. I had the eggs Benedict - the hollandaise sauce was creamy and delicious, the eggs were perfectly poached (and had delicious orange yolks) and I was very pleased with my extra crispy hash browns. My husband had an omelet with a ton of stuff in it (so much stuff it was falling out onto the plate) and the country potatoes. He ate like he hadn't been fed in awhile so it must've been really good! All in, 2 breakfasts and 2 drinks cost us $40 - that's super fair in this economy! I only regret that I didn't ask them where they get such awesome eggs! read more

Such a great find! We had camped in the mountains and wanted a good breakfast before heading out to Oatman. And we found Rutherford's. The service was great! The waitress was super sweet and attentive. My husband loves when waitresses fill up his coffee without asking and she did this. The food was great as well. I had the chorizo scramble and it was delicious. Not greasy like some chorizo plates have. Huge portion!! Hubby had the country benedict and also loved it. Super delicious! Yelp, your reviewers did not disappoint. And I got a yelp check-in discount of 10%! My companions and I enjoyed: cinnamon roll French toast, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, bacon cheeseburger, and kids Mickey pancake. The portions were huge and the price was super reasonable, we even had leftovers. Normally, the kids menu is not a lot of food, but it was here, a generous portion! Our total was less than $60 (after my Yelp discount). The menu is extensive. There are a wide variety of foods available. The server was so kind. The restaurant is clearly older, but this is a local place where the locals will be eating which is always a good sign. Also, there are tons of veteran appreciation items and decorations. Let me begin by saying the service was good. The waitress was nice and got us everything we needed. However, I am a black coffee drinker, so I take my coffee more seriously. The coffee here was very weak and tasted watery. I exchanged for an iced tea, which was also a little weak. I ordered the two egg special. The eggs were okay, if a bit cold. The potatoes were tiny and hard, making it difficult to stab them with a fork. The bacon was more oily with less flavor than I'd like. We stopped here on a Saturday morning for breakfast and we were greeted by a friendly girl where we could sit anywhere. She came by to take our drink orders and then came back for food orders. The service was a little slow and my husband had an omelette that came with country potatoes and toast. The country potatoes usually come in a pile at other restaurants but this was just spread throughout the plate to make it look like there were more. Also the food wasn't as warm so assuming the food was sitting for a few before brought out to us. There was another guy there but didn't seem to be doing anything with helping with customers until more started to arrive. My husband said he saw him come out from the back a few times with bunches of silverware wrapped in napkins. But with all of this I would come back again. read more
