Food was great, we ordered the chicken fried steak and the standbro special with 2 coffees. Service was not great at all, we couldn't get refills for our coffees. It seemed like the server with the red hair was selective on which tables she preferred to service. We started to feel like an inconvenience. Once we walked out and the other people who were there said there thank yous and goodbyes except the server that helped. Didn't even acknowledge or look our way. This place is a solid four/ four plus especially considering they are newly opened at this location! The food was more than plentiful and very tasty! My husband and I shared the ham steak and eggs with a side of 2 pancakes, and there was still plenty to take leftovers home after filling our tummies! Our friends split the chicken fried steak breakfast and had the same experience! My bestie swapped me a bite of chicken fried steak for a bite of ham steak and we both agreed that they are great! Service is still a bit glitchy at this time, and they're working hard to smooth it out and get additional help to get all points of service flowing at their peak. Ambiance is simple, down-home diner/ country kitchen... There are lots of clever little signs all around on the walls for you to read while eating. Great diner grub, eggs over was perfect. Lots of scoops of wonderful salted butter, good hash browns, pancakes (didn't try the syrup), oj tasty. Service was excellent! There were 3 people taking care of the customers and they all did great. The folding chairs were quite comfortable, advertising on the tables added charm (especially loved Hauling AZ). Went this morning, 7-27-2026, for breakfast, first time at the new location. Parking lot was almost full. They have 2 seating areas; the one with all tables was almost full and pretty noisy. We sat in the smaller area with the picnic tables, which was much quieter. Immediately got coffee and placed our order. Food came quickly and was hot! Very good food with excellent service! Hyperlocal eatery and well off the highway. Not a chain restaurant by any stretch of the imagination - which is a good thing! Homey food and well made. My travel partner wanted to try the chicken fried chicken which practically took up the entire plate! I had my usual eggs and bacon, a pretty easy order and near impossible to screw up. Came again for some lunch and here is how it went! First of all, the meal. I ordered the 3 egg omelette with ham, with some hash browns and wheat toast. Pros: * The eggs were incredibly fresh, and seasoned well. They weren't runny or soggy or anything like that. They were amazing. * My side of hash browns were prepared perfect and were super crispy. By the way, they are sometimes very hot to the touch when served, so be a little cautious. The only con I thought of was the fact the omelette struggled to stay together. It was nothing, though. Just part of an omelette. Next, the service. I got a Diet Dr. Pepper and it came out super fast. Along with the drink that came out incredibly quick; * The server who was attending the table was super nice, and always a good person to see here. * I sat nearby the kitchen, which had lots of smiling people inside and a very friendly amount of people around me, too. Last is the atmosphere. Along with the wide and spacious parking lot, they; * Have incredibly comfortable seating and a lot of it as well. * Have very nice restrooms, for the most part. The doorknobs are a little worn, but not much of a frustration. * Have a fine AC unit keeping me cool on a hot Kingman day. You can feel the difference, trust me. * Have well sustained tables, and the my are all usually sparkly clean within 5 minutes. * Have what seems to be very clean kitchens, because from what I see (from my table), I see an excellently sanitized kitchen and shiny counters. * Have coffee jokes and other stuff like that. I really wanted to find a good breakfast restaurant in Kingman. Sadly, this was not the place. The sign out front says they're celebrating 30 years of business. You would think after that long they would've perfected a simple breakfast. While the coffee was OK, that's where it ended. I ordered corned beef hash, two eggs scrambled, country potatoes, and sourdough toast. The corned beef hash came out cold and uncooked, the country potatoes were chunks of undercooked potato with raw onions and bell peppers, and the sourdough toast was warmed bread soaked in butter. The eggs were scrambled, kind of. Even when they picked up my breakfast plate with only the eggs gone, they never asked if everything was OK, just did I want me to go box. No thank you. This is a cute restaurant, and I really wanted it to be successful in being my new go to breakfast place. Oh well, I'm still on the search for a good old fashioned coffee shop with a nice breakfast and good cup of coffee. This sure wasn't it! read more

I wanted to find a good breakfast restaurant in Kingman, a locals place with good food...preferably off the Route 66 strip. I had a cheese omelet with sausage, country potatoes and coffee. The omelet was okay, cooked soft the way I ordered it, but the potatoes were undercooked. Not even browned consistently much less crispy. The coffee had an off taste, like it was brewed with a bargain grind. IMO, a breakfast place should do great eggs and signature potatoes of some kind...fresh shredded hash browns or a chunky style spuds with a few extras. Clearly, this is a locals place, and prices are very affordable. Maybe given it was between Christmas and New Years the usual cook was gone...I don't know. read more

What a gem. Read the reviews and saw the menu and prices and thought "Why not?" It did not disappoint. When we got there, plywood covered the door and I wondered if they were open. They were. The amount of food you get for the price was incredible. Hubby had a HUGE breakfast burrito. I had eggs, toast and pancakes. So yummy. Couldn't eat it all. The gentleman there told us that they make, cut and cook to order everything on the menu and it shows. Staff super friendly. The building does look like much but it's what I'd expect of a diner. Stopped through Kingman on a roadtrip from LA to Jacksonville, TX, and needed to grab a bite in the morning. This place was perfect! I was the only person sitting outside, and the view is stunning-- it's my first time in Arizona, and I was struck by the beauty of the Mojave. The staff were unbelievably kind & helpful. I am vegetarian, and they offered to customize my breakfast burrito to use vegetables instead of meat, at no additional cost. The burrito itself was delicious, not to mention MASSIVE-- I have half of it in my car to enjoy later on the road. And all of it came out to $11.61 after taxes. Their tuna melt was full of flavor but wasn't what I expected. If you love your tuna melt with a hefty amount of melted cheese holding the tuna in place, you may not enjoy their tuna melt as much. We came here before hiking Havasupai for a nice hearty breakfast. The place was packed with barely any parking which is always a great sign! We walked inside and it's quite small inside with a very old school grandma/grandpop vibe. Old tables and chairs and vintage decor with lots of frogs! We sat at the bar top. The prices are super fair and great. Still a great breakfast places with good prices! I ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs over medium and bacon. It also came with their home fries which were super crispy and seasoned!! The portions were HUGE and super great for the food prices. Visiting Kingman this weekend, a friend of mine told us this would be the best local spot for breakfast before heading back to Las Vegas. 7 of us showed up to Grandpa's Kitchen on a very busy Saturday morning! We were greeted by Grandpa's Grand Children who couldn't have been cuter and more friendly. They brought us menus while we waited outside for a table. Dining room is decorated with a cozy and friendly home style ambiance and funny signs all over the walls. I ordered pancakes, toast, scrambled eggs and hash browns. Everything tasted like the best version of a home cooked old fashioned breakfast. Friends ordered the steak and eggs as well as the biscuits and gravy and there were no complaints and full bellies around the table. Our waitress was HUSTLING around the dining room, super friendly and accurate on all orders and gave us no problem splitting the check multiple ways. If I ever spend the weekend in Kingman again, this will be our breakfast spot for sure. Don't be in a rush, this was a family run business with all hands on deck providing great service but not fast! It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review, but this one deserves it. I have never had such horrible service, and it seemed like it was intentional. If you don't have social skills, then you shouldn't be a server. Just asking for a friendly smile, or a good morning, or at least a glance that we even exist isn't really asking for too much. The food was okay, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced. I hope they enjoyed the dollar tip we left, which was more than I wanted to leave, but at least they brought us our food, although it was a little difficult to eat without silverware! After waiving for several minutes, they finally glanced at us and reluctantly brought us the proper utensils to eat our food while it was lukewarm! We won't be back!!! read more

My family and I have eaten here numerous times and would eat here even more regularly if I lived in kingman but unfortunately I don't, I live in Mohave Valley. The Chicken fried steak, chicken fried pork, chicken fried chicken, hamburger steak, ham steak, pancakes, eggs, hash browns, corn beef hash, green Chile burger, regular burgers biscuits & gravy and the list goes on. Yummy yummy yummy This last time was the only time we were a little sad, not with the food but the service. The young female waitress seemed annoyed.., we were all happy and were nice to her. The place was pretty loud because it's a small building and it seems to always be packed and this is ok because it's well worth the wait. The girl got two orders wrong which wasn't a huge deal, wrong style of potatoes and (nephew ordered a Steak medium rare with fries) and was given chicken fried steak with hash browns. Nephew and I waited and tried to get her attention but she was busy so after 5 or so minutes he laughed and started eating and was just hungry lol. We never got the chance to explain the mistake because she was so fast, when she stopped by once during our whole stay to refill a water at the end of the table and off she went. She never returned and I was kinda not wanting to bother her anyway because she was busy and by this time looked angry and more annoyed, Maybe just super busy but I didn't want to bother or upset her more by pointing out the mistakes. It totally happens. No worries. We tidied up our table as we always do and left. The nice lady (supervisor/manager maybe) was super nice, greeted and talked to everyone in the restaurant and did lil bit if everything. She got the $50 dollar tip.
