I found this place on Yelp and ordered takeout for my first meal. I ordered the Paneer Makhani (and asked for it to be a little spicy) as well as the naan. This place is delicious! The paneer was yummy, but the sauce was even more so. It was perfectly spiced, flavorful, and not watery as it can often be from other places in the area. This place has a Michelin Star chef, and after last night's meal, I can believe it. I especially appreciated that the naan was perfectly soft and light. and not doughy. This can be hard to cook for delivery, but they managed it, and it was a great vehicle to sop up all the sauce/use as a boat for the paneer. I will absolutely be back to try the other dishes! Kitur exceeded my [Westchester] expectations this past weekend. I wouldn't call the space "intimate" but more bustling and actually on the louder side. There's a nice thoughtfulness to the decor. The pace of our meal was a little odd. Our food came out quickly, then our drinks, and then there was a long break between dishes [quickly] being taken up and ordering dessert. But luckily, the food blew us away. I would get the chicken ke parche (so tender), lamb shahlik (with a great chimichurri sauce), and the duck moilee (the best - great flavors and texture). Drinks were pretty good, though I would skip the chai thai; the masala old fashion and glub jamun bourbon sour were good. And definitely get the kulfi tiramisu. How in the hell did they do THAT to my Pesto Chicken?!! Cooked to utter perfection! My dish was insanely delicious and fresh, with a touch of crispness- my good God in heaven! Just succulent meat with heavenly flavors! The lemon rice was pleasant and different. My daughter's lamb Naan was incredible! My son's Palek Paneer - same! The three of us were looking at each other like "holy sh*t!!! Lol Our suave server / owner (?) was awesome - handled a large lunch crowd without skipping a beat or any stress! Went to this restaurant for the second time with my family for lunch. We did not have a reservation either time and the restaurant was gracious enough to accommodate us each time. The prices are a bit high but not uncommon for this area. The venue is located on the popular strip of Mamaroneck ave, in Westchester county. Street parking is available as well as municipal lots around the area. The street meter parking is also reasonably priced. The venue is small but does create a cozy more intimate atmosphere. The music is calming and works well for a fine dining experience. The table settings are modern and elegant. The venue is clean and nicely decorated. The restaurant has a full service bar with specialty drinks. The staff were very friendly and helpful when making decisions about items on the menu and also cleared dishes quickly from the table. The owner checked in with us on more than one occasion and was very personable. The owner also helped us with selecting wine that would pair well with our meal and pallet. The lunch menu is limited compared to the dinner menu however did offer a variety of options. We ordered several appetizers including the grilled prawns, grilled oyster mushrooms, grilled paneer and chicken tikka. The appetizers were well seasoned but not overly spiced, not salty and were presented beautifully on the plates. The grilled items were juicy, flavorful and not overcooked. The grilled items were served with a small cabbage salad and mint chutney. For entrees we tried several items including the butter chicken, chicken curry, and Parsi fish of the day which was sea bass. We also ordered some additional items such as plain naan, the rice trio & chutneys. The fish came wrapped in a banana leaf and was steamed perfectly, served with a side of coconut rice. The watermelon rice and lemon rice sides were also very flavorful. The curries were savory, well seasoned and not too spicy. The curries were perfect for dipping naan or having with rice. The chicken was not dry or overcooked. Vegetarian dishes were also available. To complete our meal we shared a delicious gulab jamun panna cotta. This dish was so fun! Delicate and smooth and not too sweet. It was served with a warm gulab jamun on the dish and was beautifully plated. We also had a cappuccino and masala chai. The restaurant also offered fusion desserts like tiramisu and crème brûlée with an Indian twist. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Kutir and will definitely be inviting our friends and family to join us. Kutir is a new and welcomed luxury dining destination that does not require taking a trip into NYC but offers the elegance and high end dining experience of a restaurant in the city. We were excited to try a new Indian restaurant that is getting lots of buzz. The menu was not your typical American Indian restaurant so if you are not very adventurous this may not be for you. We started with the Spinach and Kale salad which was tasty but not at all what we expected with a bunch of deep fried balls covered in dressing. Not a healthy salad. The Grilled oyster mushroom was uniquely divine - rich and creamy. The Mangolorean chicken curry was complex and flavorful, I believe made with dark meat chicken. The Shrimp Biryani was another standout. It is served in a crock topped with a bread-like crust. Again, the dish was filled with delicious layered flavors and the shrimp were on the spicy side. Garlic naan, raita, and complimentary cucumber salad were all perfect accompaniments. The atmosphere and service were warm and welcoming. We walked by Monday night going to a different restaurant and said Wow that place is packed. When we were finished eating Italian we walked over and peeked in the window and said let's eat here soon! Looks fun. I made reservations for Wednesday night, we were seated promptly and from the decor and fun vibe we knew this was like no other Indian restaurant we've been to! What a refreshing and high quality place. It reminds me of going for a meal in the city. The food is amazing and cooked to perfection every time. We try something new every visit and I find new favorites every time. Their style is so diverse that you can find amazing sauce based food with naan to vegetarian style without sauce. I am not a vegetarian but my wife has shown me how good it can be here. The service is impeccable and the drinks are amazing. I really like Indian but this place is beyond that and has become my favorite restaurant in Westchester. It is in my top 5 anywhere. Great for birthdays or just grabbing a light meal during the week. I went to lunch today with a friend at Kutir after a friend mentioned that there was a fairly new Indian restaurant in Mamaroneck. Being I love Indian food, I decided to go and see what all the good reviews were about. I was happy to find out they were all true. The food was delicious! I had the Butter Chicken and my friend had the Manglorian Chicken Curry. Both were absolutely delicious. We also had the cumin seeded potatoes. Yummy. Naan bread and mixed pickle too. 2 cocktails Coconut rum, and Magarita, Great service. Don't miss this place! Will be back. Heard dinner is hard to get a reservation, that is why I went for lunch. We did not have reservations, and it was a Saturday. The Host told us if we were OK with eating at the bar, they could accommodate us, so we said yes. He told us we should call a week in advance next time. The bar was fun, and the bartender did a good job of taking care of us. The host stopped by to make sure everything was going well. The ambiance is sophisticated, relaxing and exotic. While the place was full, it did not seem loud or chaotic. Sitting at the bar we saw the bartender make all kinds of curious drinks The food was magnificent. We started with Chemmen Olathiathu, described as "Syrian Christian classic shrimp stir fry". It was a little on the spicy side, but quite lovely. The main dishes we had were Goan Seafood Curry and Shrimp Biriyani, and both were flavorful and delicious. The portions were big, and we ended up taking some home. For dessert we had the avocado chocolate mouse, which was not too sweet, light way to end the meal. Elevated Indian food that is a pleasure to explore. We were a little nervous walking in the second night of opening and seeing it was packed, but the kitchen was efficient and the restaurant had a lovely vibe.
