One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, and when that happens it means we're grabbing dinner. We were both feeling Greek, and since neither of us had been to Telly's Taverna in Port Chester before, we decided to come here to check out their offerings. I had a great experience at the original Telly's in Astoria, so I was really looking forward to seeing how this spot compared. Telly's is located amongst a number of commercial businesses in the heart of Port Chester. There's a lot of street parking as well as a number of lots, so no issue there. The restaurant has a grand, welcoming presence from the outside while inside, the space is large with a number of different dining spaces. The interior has kind of a nautical theme with a lighter color scheme - lots of white and blue combos which makes it feel very open. The menu has a great selection of Greek dishes, and they have a good wine and cocktail menu as well. We started with drinks - I had a Prosecco-based cocktail which was really refreshing and did good to combat the crappy weather we were having this MDW. Onto the food - we decided to start with some things to share: Greek salad, halloumi cheese, and Greek sausage. Everything was delicious - the salad screamed summer with chunks of tomato, cucumber, and feta that was generously seasoned. The cheese and sausage were also great - everything tasted really fresh. For my main I had the garides saganaki - shrimp served in a red sauce with small chunks of feta cheese. This was really tasty; the shrimp were large and they were really generous with the portion. The flavors were bold but they really worked together as a whole - there was a lot of extra sauce so I appreciated the bread that was placed on the table as well as my fork ;-) Service was great - everyone was attentive and friendly. Overall, I had a great time at Telly's. It's nice to know that their Port Chester location is just as good as the one in Queens. I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm craving Greek.

Really great place in Westchester. I came here many times and every time I am very satisfied with food and service. Every time I came, we did not make a reservation and they had a table for two. I never ate outside but they do have some outside dining as well. They have a wide variety of Greek appetizers and lots of great options for entry. They have few desserts as well. Everything is amazing every time I went there. This place never disappointed me. The food is really good -- especially the bean appetizer (fassolia) and seafood platter. Waiters are very attentive and pleasant. Definitely will be back many times more.

My husband and I were so excited to discover that Telly's had finally reopened after the damage from Hurricane Ida. It is an absolutely lovely space. We ordered the freshest Greek salad with chunks of feta, luscious tomatoes and cucumbers topped with savory oregano and olive oil dressing. We also ordered taramasalata dip which came with warm pita bread. It is not as easy to find, even in Greek restaurants and their version was not overly salty. For our main course we ordered the halibut which was a tender delicious filet. The giant grilled prawns were perfectly cooked, juicy and sweet with a nice, subtle char. To quote my husband, who is a real foodie who has eaten great food in many places, "these are among the best prawns I've eaten." Since this was a soft re-reopening they brought complementary Greek donuts drizzled with honey and cinnamon. The service was also superb. I want to add that I have some food allergies and they were so cautious and attentive. We recently moved within walking distance and plan to return often!

Fabulous and authentic food and service. Waiters from Greece and spoke Greek. They also have a lot of fish which I think is the speciality.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ New England Seafood Chowder - Very good. Came out piping hot and had lots of potato chunks, carrots and fish inside. Only knock is we wish we had more! + Clam Pizza - Personal pie size pizza. Honestly, just the right size. Verrrrry delicious and verrrrry flavorful, BUTTTTT the flavor didn't come from the clams - it came from the over-dominating flavor of the bacon scattered all over the pizza. Not to say that the bacon flavor was bad, but it could have used more clams. + Kids Mac and Cheese - Gooey just the way we, especially our kids, love it. + Grilled Angus Burger - Solid burger. Cooked medium and it was the right shade of pink inside, but the burger was a litttttle dry. It was not dripping juices and oil as I would prefer. Plenty of fries onions on it though. Fries reminded me of the thin McD fries. + Steak Tacos - Just 2 tacos. Would have liked if it was an order of 3. Steak was good though. Guac inside mixed with the steak chunks definitely made it better considering that the steak was well done. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Friendly and courteous waiter. Accommodated our numerous ketchup requests and never forgot anything. + Food came out VERY quickly. - For the Grilled Angus Burger, cheese did not come with it for free, but the waiter asked what cheese I wanted, which misled me to think that cheese came with the order. I ended up adding swiss cheese, which definitely made the burger better, but it was an extra charge. The extra $2 for the cheese was not the issue, but the way that I felt that the waiter misled me was the issue. Instead of asking what cheese I wanted, he should have asked "Would you like cheese with your order?" It's the principle. Feel me? Because of this, had to knock off a star off what would have been a 4-star review. THE SURROUNDINGS -------------------------------- + Private parking lot was in the back. All of the spaces in the front are for the Rye Train Station and paid, so DO NOT park in front of the restaurant if you're here to dine. + SUPER spacious restaurant with 2 levels - 2nd level seems like it is for private parties. 1st level has 3 dining areas PLUS a nice, huge bar area. + Multiple TVs located by the bar. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- + Came by on a random August Friday at 11:45 AM and, as expected, it was pretty quiet at first, but business picked up verybquickly and it became pretty busy by 12:45.

    - Large, spacious restaurant with a rustic yet classy vibe; plenty of seating throughout, including…read moretables, booths, and a bar; second-level space for private events, along with outdoor seating in the front - Small, somewhat tight private parking lot located to the left of the restaurant--easy to miss if you're not looking for it - Service was friendly, attentive, and consistent throughout our meal - Food was enjoyable overall: seafood chowder was served piping hot and loaded with generous chunks of fish, potatoes, and carrots--flavor was excellent, although we were surprised it wasn't served with oyster crackers for some added crunch; steak tacos were tasty and well-flavored, but the portion was quite small for an entrée; the clam pie was well prepared with a pleasantly chewy dough--was quite heavy on the bacon, which unfortunately overpowered the clam flavor, but it was still a good pie overall; the grilled angus burger had good flavor and cooked to the requested medium, though it wasn't as juicy as expected--the crispy onions were also more chewy than crispy; kids' mac and cheese was nice and gooey--a solid choice for the kiddos

Karaoke was in full swing and the hosts are very talented. We made reservations but it was not packed this particular Thursday evening. It was very hot so we stayed indoors but I would have liked very much to sit outside. They have a nice location. Everyone was veyr nice, from hostess to bussers; our server was very attentive. We started off with some drinks, and their jerk spring rolls and codfish fritters. Everything was really good. Hubby had their lomo saltado. He said it was OK but the rice was dry and it wasn't served as it should be, with the sauté on top of the French fries. I had the ribeye with mac & cheese and cabbage slaw. The steak temp was perfect, as was the mac. The slaw was bland - I wish I ordered a different side. My kiddo had their chicken fingers w/French fries, and liked it. My MIL had their pollo a la brasa, and enjoyed it as well. We surprised hubby with a happy birthday red velvet slice and headed out. Service was great and it was a vibe with the live music. After our meal, we walked around Hudson Park nearby and enjoyed a very chill day. I would definitely come back.

The ambiance and aesthetics definitely lived up to the hype, and our waitress was kind, attentive, and did her best throughout the night. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill because of the wait. We arrived and were seated around 7:45 PM, but we didn't receive our food until about 9:15 PM. We ordered a Caesar salad, oxtail spring rolls, lomo, and jerk chicken. After waiting for what felt like forever, our waitress explained that our order had been given to the wrong table. While I appreciated her honesty, it was frustrating that it took so long for the mistake to be noticed and corrected. As for the food, I'd give it a 3.5/10. It had potential, but overall it just missed the mark for me. After such a long wait, I expected much better. We were only offered 15% off the bill, which didn't really feel like adequate compensation for a 90-minute wait caused by the restaurant's mistake. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it wasn't a good one. I'd seen this restaurant all over social media and had high expectations, but my experience didn't live up to the hype.
