Torn about Tellys! When you walk in you are greeted with the overwhelming smell of Fabuloso, that strong smelling commercial cleaner. NO restaurant should use this. It smells so strong you cannot imagine eating anything while smelling it. Why are they not using any of the many non smelling cleaners available? Like every other restaurant!?! Please Tellys!!! I actually love their food most of the time and would go there more often if not for this issue. Sometimes the calamari and octopus are not as fresh as they could be which of course is a big problem. They need to coordinate with their other restaurant to make the ingredients always fresh!!! Love the marousalata, grilled octopus (sometimes) and many of their other dishes. If they did better marketing or PR (youre right next to the town of Greenwich where people love and can afford your food but no one has heard of you!) they would have more customers and likely fresher food! Great food, great service, great beer options, great specialty cocktails, plenty of menu choices, casual cool vibe, great location. This place has it all! I rarely give 5 stars on a single visit because for me the 5th star is all about consistency. A place that is great 1 time and poor the next shouldn't have 5 stars, but if it's always great then it definitely should stand out. Telly's was just so amazing that there's no way it won't always be great. Can't wait to go back. Recommendations for food: Octopus was the best I've ever had. Grilled haloumi cheese was incredible. Moussaka was excellent. Chicken and lamb skewers were great (be sure to add Tzatziki!) Excellent Greek food with plenty of other options. Huge seafood menu if you like seafood. We had a very pleasant experience here. First off, the inside of the restaurant is amazing; very clean, spacious and tasteful decor. We came here after watching a movie at the AMC theater. We ordered wine and beer and they have a decent selection for both. For the meal, we ordered the Meat Combo and Seafood combo. The meat was cooked well and had a nice char on it. The seafood was also tasty. The server was friendly and checked in on us several times. It is a bit on the pricier side, but given the quality of service and food, I don't mind paying the extra for a great experience. read more

We have wanted to go for awhile and finally made it to Telly's. So glad we went. The restaurant decor was great with a Greek nautical theme-clean and very open. The wine list was good and we chose a half carafe of the Cab. Started with a wonderful Tzatziki-creamy with a little olive oil and served with warm bread. Entrees were Mousaka-I loved but wife thought is was just good. The mussels app was my entree. It was plenty for dinner with a great broth. Service was very good. read more

One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, and when that happens it means we're grabbing dinner. We were both feeling Greek, and since neither of us had been to Telly's Taverna in Port Chester before, we decided to come here to check out their offerings. I had a great experience at the original Telly's in Astoria, so I was really looking forward to seeing how this spot compared. Telly's is located amongst a number of commercial businesses in the heart of Port Chester. There's a lot of street parking as well as a number of lots, so no issue there. The restaurant has a grand, welcoming presence from the outside while inside, the space is large with a number of different dining spaces. The interior has kind of a nautical theme with a lighter color scheme - lots of white and blue combos which makes it feel very open. The menu has a great selection of Greek dishes, and they have a good wine and cocktail menu as well. We started with drinks - I had a Prosecco-based cocktail which was really refreshing and did good to combat the crappy weather we were having this MDW. Onto the food - we decided to start with some things to share: Greek salad, halloumi cheese, and Greek sausage. Everything was delicious - the salad screamed summer with chunks of tomato, cucumber, and feta that was generously seasoned. The cheese and sausage were also great - everything tasted really fresh. For my main I had the garides saganaki - shrimp served in a red sauce with small chunks of feta cheese. This was really tasty; the shrimp were large and they were really generous with the portion. The flavors were bold but they really worked together as a whole - there was a lot of extra sauce so I appreciated the bread that was placed on the table as well as my fork ;-) Service was great - everyone was attentive and friendly. Overall, I had a great time at Telly's. It's nice to know that their Port Chester location is just as good as the one in Queens. I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm craving Greek. read more

Really great place in Westchester. I came here many times and every time I am very satisfied with food and service. Every time I came, we did not make a reservation and they had a table for two. I never ate outside but they do have some outside dining as well. They have a wide variety of Greek appetizers and lots of great options for entry. They have few desserts as well. Everything is amazing every time I went there. This place never disappointed me. The food is really good -- especially the bean appetizer (fassolia) and seafood platter. Waiters are very attentive and pleasant. Definitely will be back many times more. read more

We had dinner last night at this very nice looking restaurant. First let me say that the staff is friendly and attentive. The place is very clean and beautifully decorated. The food was pretty good, but unfortunately we all felt that it's ridiculously overpriced. For example, a fried calamari appetizer was $28 for a regular size plate. Steamed mussels $28. Neither one had much flavor or seasoning. I hate to complain because they were so nice but we probably won't be back, it's simply not worth the price. read more

I've been to many Greek restaurants in my life and this wouldn't be one of my suggested places. Humus was totally bland. Just lacking any taste Greek salad was pretty good with nice chunks of feta cheese. The menu shows a small salad costing $15. I remember them charging $17 from the bill Side of beets -eh nothing with nothing Side of lemon potatoes - also just eh Saganaki cheese - I know this usually comes out flaming. This didn't but the cheese is amazing anyway They don't have stuffed grape leaves Jumbo grilled shrimp were ok Saganaki shrimp tasted like I was eating Spanish rice with shrimp on top and a few tiny sprinkles of feta. Biggest disappointment was no loukoumades on Saturday. There went my coffee as well. Wouldn't come back here. Huge parking lot across the street. Good service read more

We enjoyed Telley's for the first time, and were actually sorry we waited so long. There are a handful of yummy Greek restaurants in lower Westchester. This is among the better ones. We'll be back for sure. read more

Friendly staff in a clean, new-looking interior. Foodwise I was disappointed. The Melitzanosalata (cold eggplant spread) was good, however, the main courses cause an unpleasant evening. Mousaka - eggplant was hard, somewhat uncooked, and Chicken Souvlaki (grilled chicken skewer) was burnt so that one could hardly taste the meat's own flavor unless you cut away half of the meat. My husband and I were so excited to discover that Telly's had finally reopened after the damage from Hurricane Ida. It is an absolutely lovely space. We ordered the freshest Greek salad with chunks of feta, luscious tomatoes and cucumbers topped with savory oregano and olive oil dressing. We also ordered taramasalata dip which came with warm pita bread. It is not as easy to find, even in Greek restaurants and their version was not overly salty. For our main course we ordered the halibut which was a tender delicious filet. The giant grilled prawns were perfectly cooked, juicy and sweet with a nice, subtle char. To quote my husband, who is a real foodie who has eaten great food in many places, "these are among the best prawns I've eaten." Since this was a soft re-reopening they brought complementary Greek donuts drizzled with honey and cinnamon. The service was also superb. I want to add that I have some food allergies and they were so cautious and attentive. We recently moved within walking distance and plan to return often! read more

But in my opinion, some items quite overpriced. $24 for a plate of fried zucchini and eggplant, a single pepper and some cold potato. $18 for a delicious plate of gigante lima beans, but $18? What was the cost of the beans and the sauce, $3? The baked feta in phyllo with honey was delicious, and at $18 probably is just a bit more than I would have expected to pay but OK. Main courses were delicious and probably in-line with NY prices but definitely higher than what we'd pay for very good Greek food in Boston area. I know it's New York suburbs and the restaurant is huge and beautifully decorated, definitely high-end and rent is probably very high. And it was our choice to go there with my elderly mother, who doesn't get to enjoy Greek food very often. Bread is great and Olive oil is of great quality. The food here is sub par but if you are in the mood for Greek food and aren't willing to drive to Astoria it will have to do. Do get the fried potatoes, grilled octopus and beef bites. Update--- So this is my 2nd time here and I had the fried calamari but found it to be a bit hard. For some reason most Greek restaurants in Westchester are on the west side or mid-County. So we were really looking forward to this after reading the review in Westchester magazine. Our greeting from the host was friendly, but she refused to take a two top out of a six to make space for us - saying she needed the space should a big party arrive. So we sat right on top of a loud group of four and heard every word of their conversation. The big table remained unoccupied throughout our Tuesday meal. Peasant bread with a bit of a char and water arrived quickly. Our waiter was good with Greek pronunciations, but seemed otherwise inexperienced Glasses of Pinot Grigio and Moscofilero were good, and the pours were decent. For an appetizer we went with the assortment of dips tzatziki, taramasalata, and skordalia. The tzatziki was pretty good, the tarama somewhat under-seasoned, and the skordalia disappointing. Our first helping of pita was room temperature, but a refill was warm and quite nice. If we come back I'll try other meze. My wife had asked if they had the sardines before we ordered any food. She was assured they did, and thus it was disconcerting to hear that they had run short, thirty minutes into the meal, after we had our appetizers. Only three sardines were left - the server proposed adding a side (normally $3) to make up for the shortfall as the usual portion was five. We demurred, as we thought the shortfall should be made up in fish or seafood. Eventually the waiter agreed to supplement the sardines with squid. When her entree arrived, there were three sardines on the plate - one normal size and two that looked like bait. There was a decent portion of squid. Still the way this was handled left us with a bad taste in our mouths. My entree, grilled swordfish comprised two thin charred slices, a decent portion, but pricey at $34 with no side included. We had ordered horta and a Greek salad for sides. The horta ($3 supplement) was quite good. The Greek salad comprised large chunks of tomato, feta, olives, peppers. No stuffed grape leaves, no anchovies that I could discern. It was ok but pricey at $17.00 Our server the placed the check on the table before our dishes were cleared. Not too happy about that move. I believe the table next to us was comped for dessert - we received nothing for the sardine blunder and were even charged the slightly higher price for sardines even though the plate was mostly squid. On the plus side, the decor is nice - the bar is quite handsome. But improvements are needed to justify the tab. read more

Although the food tastes great, the real shell shocker that the owners don't seem to get is that their prices are way out of line with the area. I grew up in Queens and loved Telly's in Astoria but the prices were much more reasonable than this Portchester location. I went here with my wife and two kids. We had the dips sampler, saganaki, octopus, spanakopita, shrimp in feta/tomato sauce and my son swordfish kebab. One glass of wine and no dessert. $190 including tip. The standouts were the shrimp and the pita bread that accompanied the dips. The swordfish was decent but my son didn't eat it, I blame the 8-year old for ordering it. It was good. My octopus was fine. The interior is elegant and clean. Service was fine. Overall I didn't find great value here which was a bit disappointing given all the great selection in port chester. read more

Our roots are in our taste buds...My husband is Greek and I am a Spaniard , so we just love good food. Telly's is a is very close to what we get every summer I. The Greek islands; nice clean and tastefully Mediterranean Food . You can taste the grilled food and the fresh gardened vegetables. It also helps that they have some of our favorite Greek wines and great waitstaff. We love this place and love the fact that we no longer have to drive to Astoria for an experience like this. Authentic Greek... these guys are the real deal. When you start with great ingredients, you don't have to over-do the prep. The Flounder I had tasted like it was caught minutes before... simply grilled and served with a squeeze of lemon and top tier olive oil. I'm glad I was alone, because I didn't want to share any of it. Very happy that one of the best from Astoria decided to venture up to Westchester. Best of luck!!! Went here for my gf's birthday. The service was fantastic! They also gave her a birthday surprise (I won't spoil it...but it did include some delicious donuts). Food was very good. We really like the garlic and potato dip. The bread and pita were toasty so it went well with dip. My gf really liked her spanakopita. The beeftekia was definitely large portion. Everything we ordered was on point! Octapus, feta saganaki, and fried calamari were our appetizers. I would take a star off because the calamari was hard and rubbery but the taste was ok. The service is amazing, decor is fabulous and the food is incredible! Every experience is perfection from start to finish. It is so authentic, fresh and absolutely delicious! The servers and staff are so wonderful, kind and attentive! The Pastitsio, Keftedes, Tzatziki and Loukoumades are hands down the best I've ever had, aside from family recipes of course. O, and the white sangria!! We ordered from them for a small dinner at home and ordered from the catering menu!
