I was greeted by the front desk receptionist with a friendly welcome and smile. My wait was no more than 5 mins after my scheduled appointment. I was assisted by Carmen who is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable there can be. For my pre-exam the process was smooth as I was navigated to each eye machine. I then waited for Dr. Li and again not long. He greeted me with a great sense of humor. He is very easy going and is attentive to patient's needs. He is quick to address any concerns you may have. You can rest assured your questions are answered honestly. He is one of the most thorough optometrists I have even been around. He reviewed all the graphs and results of my pre-eye exam and broke down what exactly I was looking at. I essentially was looking at my entire eye health. This something unique and akin to what a dentist would show you when they take x-rays. I was really impressed. He was very forthcoming about what to expect as I age with my eye health. He also was able to provide a sense of understanding. I was very appreciative of his knowledge. Following my visit, I was escorted to the optician (I forget her name). She assisted me in selecting frames. She helped me with understanding what my insurance covers, and she even allowed for me to combine my wife's coverage. She was very patient with all my questions and not once I ever felt rushed. I may have kept her longer than I intended and had to depart. However, I was introduced to the person that finished up for her and that optician too (I forget her name) was very nice. At the end I was able to select a quality pair of frames that I am sure I will be happy with! From start to end the visit was one of the best I have ever had! The facility is comfortable and inviting. The entire staff I encountered were all very professional and courteous. Dr. Li was simply a joy to speak to and I am sure I can trust him with all my needs for years to come! I cannot recommend him enough. If you need an optometrists consider Li and Liao Optometry! Just a note, I saw many reviews and was skeptical at first in purchasing frames at the optometrist's office. I am someone who have been accustomed to purchasing eyeglasses from Costco. Costco offers a good selection, and the costs are more than fair. However, I can say that after my visit with Dr. Li and having the opportunity to keep an open mind to see what they offered I opted to purchase my frames from his establishment. I wanted to support not only a doctor who knows his craft but a business who provides awesome service, impeccable knowledge of eye health and second to none care. I find that when sitting with an optician I get the most out of selecting the best frames. Of course, you will see name brand choices, and this may scare some when it comes to pricing. The blonde woman at the front desk asked me to sign for an Optima eye exam without clearly explaining that it was optional, and I felt pressured because they highlighted their latest equipment, and I assumed it was standard. Five days later, I learned from a family member that my deductible/copay had already been met, so I shouldn't have owed anything. When I called to inquire, another staff member told me that "a copay and deductible are separate," which came across as dismissive and made me feel foolish for asking. In reality, once the deductible is met, additional copays for covered services shouldn't apply in this way. The lack of clear communication about the optional nature of the exam and the billing left a bad taste. If patients are going to be made to feel uninformed or stupid when they question charges, I won't be returning. P.S. As a 19-year-old, I also found it strange to be recommended (and charged for) this extra exam when I've had no prior eye issues. It left me wondering why it was pushed so strongly at my age.

Dr. Miller has been my OD for the past 4 years. Initially when I came to him from another office I…read morewas having issues with my contacts. The ones I had been living with for years caused me discomfort and good vision wasn't a daily occurrence. The problem was mainly due to my high astigmatism. My previous OD couldn't help me and didn't really seem to try. Dr. Miller tried several different lenses with me until we found a good fit. Contacts had never felt so comfortable and my eyes weren't nearly as irritated as they had been before. Because they fit better I could also see much better. He made it clear to me that contacts weren't the best option for me due to my high astigmatism but that didn't stop him from doing everything he could to make it work. We also discussed other options like LASIK and other refractive surgery. I was always very interested in this and he answered all my questions, gave me every option available and left me with pricing. At the time the only option for me was a contact lens implant. The cost of this was very high and not an option I felt comfortable with. A few years later he mentioned the technology has improved since our last discussion and I was now a candidate for PRK (a type of refractive eye surgery). He gave me the pricing, answered my long list of questions, gave me realistic expectations and three weeks later I had the surgery. I couldn't be happier now! I see better than I ever have. Dr. Miller is a great OD. He seems to genuinely care about his patients and spends all the time needed with you to get the best results. In the four years I've been his patient I have went from having almost blind and miserable feeling eyes to seeing and feeling better than I ever have before.

We went to another optometrist and wasn't told we had eye mites at all at our exam! WTH?!? A year goes by and I forget about that incident and decide to give them another try but maybe see a different Dr. so I try to schedule an appointment online and was asked if I consent to a $40 "Eye Wellness" exam that is NOT covered by insurance. So here is my thought, if the insurance company doesn't feel this is a necessary procedure then why do I have to have it? So I said no. It then says they can't proceed with making my appointment and for me to call them. I call and basically if I don't agree to pay for the exam, they won't see me. I said that I think it's sad they would be willing to lose a customer over an optional procedure! They said, sorry, but we won't see you without it. I guess I'm going to see a new optometrist because Li & Liao are only in it for the $$ and not to help their patients!

When it came time to check out, the total was just shy of $1200, but insurance brought it down to $600. The part that really irritates me is the fact that they screwed up my prescription. You'd think spending that much money on glasses, the least they could do was get your prescription correct. Both of my eyes had issues---one more major than the other. The eye with minor damage was given a lens that over-corrected it, giving me frequent headaches and eye strain. I purchased RayBan glasses, which come with their logo engraved on the lenses. When I received the glasses, the RayBan logo was not there, meaning that I was given something cheaper than what I purchased. Avoid this optometry. The ones in Target are 100x better.
