It just said fish on the menu, so it was originally believed that I would be able to take part in eating this dish, but when it came, there was also meat in it. As a pescatarian, I can eat fish but I don't meat from land animals. Not a huge problem for me as I was plenty full from eating the 3 aforementioned dishes. It is in principle though, a bit frustrating to order something based on the menu description and then when it comes to the table, find that it has an unwelcome ingredient in it that wasn't mentioned in the description on the menu. Pan fried dumplings - i love northern style dumplings because they have a thicker skin. Unfortunately the wrapping was not a dumpling wrapping. It was a bao wrapping - very similar to sheng jian bao. I did not expect 12 baos. The bottoms were also not crispy. I think next time I'd better go with boiled dumplings. The only thing I liked was the bounciness of the noodles. The crispy texture of the rice roll (腸粉) comes from the deep fried Chinese donuts (油條) wrapped inside. Their ZL rice rolls (炸兩) are consistently yummy and I am impressed at how they make it better than some fancy dim sum restaurants in town. Also, not all dim sum restaurants serve this dish because 炸兩 ZL rice rolls is time consuming to prepare and only delicious when freshly made. As they are located in Crystal Mall's food court, this specialty rice roll is easily one of my top reasons why I visit Crystal Mall ......my foodie love is simple where I visit Fung May mainly because it satisfies my ZL rice rolls cravings. Steamed rice rolls pairs perfectly with congee and they serve a variety of congee flavors which makes a yummy breakfast or lunch combo.
