Came here for Christmas dinner with the family since we were all craving banquet-style Chinese food and this place definitely delivered. I'd recommend having a reservation, especially for the busier holidays. Every table was full when we arrived but it definitely wasn't as crowded for dinner vs dim sum lunch service. We got the beef shank and jellyfish as well as a soup to start. Followed by deep fried crab/shrimp balls and the off-menu cream lobster with noodles. The live lobster was brought out and presented to the table prior to disappearing and returning as the pictured delicious dish. The dinner concluded with complimentary red bean dessert soup. Overall great food and service!

*note: To you and a reminder to myself! Don't get the first table closer to the door on one of the coldest days of the year. When the door is open and it was a free time during our meal you might as well have been eating outside. Staff just said we had to wait for their delivery (i said, I don't think so!!! and closed it ) Enough of that.,, We were there for dad's 90th birthday, yay! We had the Peking duck, omg delicious! Crispy noodle special chow mein, gai lan with seafood, pea shoots with garlic, spicy green beans, chicken with ginger scallion, salt pepper squid, house special fried rice tenderloin beef with black bean (so tender) and Chinese fruit cake. There was so much food and it was all so delicious! Once we position the door so no one could leave it open we had a great birthday party and meal for dad! A definitely go to restaurant for great Cantonese Chinese food. Yum

The food is fresh for the ones that I like. The portion sizes are good and their menu does have a good selection of dishes to fit the craving. I've been going to this spot for years and parking is abundant as it is located in Central City mall. Some dishes are a hit, some are misses. Just experiment. Not too big of a place but they can host bigger tables if needed. The service can get slow at peak times but that's to be expected. Get the lobster sticky rice and the fried silver fish. You'll love it .

Beautiful dim sum place . Great service and great variety in the dim sum menu. Very affordable and generous portions. We had a blast in Chinese dim sum culinary. We have to go back soon!! S

I've visited Neptune several times over the years but have noted a stark improvement in taste in the last few visits ... it's nice to have a tasty Chinese option closer to home and not have to drive all the way to Vancouver or Richmond. Prices are pretty steep and probably the only thing keeping me from coming here more often.

Came here for lunch after finding it on Yelp. We were visiting from Seattle and we wanted some good filling dim-sum. We ordered shrimp fried rice, crispy noodles, lots of dim sum, salt and pepper calamari and salt and pepper chicken wings. The food was okay. I really enjoyed the noodles and the shrimp wrapped in bean curd, I've never seen that in a dim sum restaurant in Washington, so this was extra special for me lol! The fried rice was bland, as well as the chicken wings. As for the service, it wasn't the best experience. It wasn't that busy, and the waiters did not really cater to us. We asked for cups of water and they didn't bring it out till after our meal. Not to mention, they charge for to-go containers and they are expensive?! If I were to come here again, it would just be for the shrimp wrapped in bean curd. Also those cute piggy desserts were coconut pudding and they were bland and nasty.

I have been dining here during the past eight years. It is one of the few higher end Chinese restaurants in Surrey. The prices reflect that too. Service is usually decent. Food tasted great although the prices reflect that. It is a good option to take family or friends to as the there is plenty of seating. There is mall parking available and the restaurant is also close to a skytrain station.

As a Chinese-American Seattlite, one of the must things to do while visiting B.C. Canada is to go to a fancy Chinese restaurant and immerse yourself in the bustling of families gathering and the micro managers coordinating with the servers over their comms system. Yes, this is one of the many things I have grown to miss over the past 3 years of COVID and not being able to travel out of the U.S. The nostalgia of sitting at a large white clothed round table and having to fight over the check with family is what I came here for. Yes, this is what I came here for. Oh, the food? Yeah, it was alright. Okay, seriously. Chinese food in B.C. has always been better than Seattle. You can fight me on this and see yourself eating dirt because you already lost. If you order steamed fish or king crab, they'll grab it out of whatever tank they have them in and put it in a tub so they can walk to your table and show it to you to examine while it's still alive. Then they cook it up for you. Now that's service! But as they cook that up for you, you will soon get the rest of your dinner set which is usually some kind of soup. Then the rest of the dinner items trickles to the table. Be it the steamed fish, a sea cucumber and bok choy dish, crispy chicken, stir fried crab dish, or be a vegetable dish. All of which we had as a family-style dinner set. So in total, that's like 6 items to feed a family of 4. This is great if you're trying to have an impressive meal for the family. The dinner set menu is usually the best way to go for large groups. Highly recommend doing that. If you're not, you'll be paying premium for sure. If you plan to go, reservations is a must. Despite how many tables there are at the restaurant, they usually fill up to capacity easily. There are a lot of servers running around and they tend to be pretty busy, so you may have to hit them up a few times before you can get extra napkins or something. One of them will be on the ball and it doesn't take too long for them to get you what you need. The place can get pretty crowded, so probably not the safest space to be at if you're avoiding COVID. Honestly though, the Chinese community tends to wear masks almost all the time still even with the mask mandate being lifted, so it is safer than most other restaurants I would assume. Also, the employees there all wear masks and I think gloves too, so they are doing their best to keep customers and themselves safe.

This Memorial Day weekend in the States, we decided to head up to British Columbia for a little getaway. We are staying in Surrey and fell hungry after a long drive. My mom found this restaurant for dim sum. The restaurant is in the downtown area of Surrey where the train comes thru every now and it is right next to the WalMart Superstore. My dad and I got the shrimp wonton noodle soup! Very very good, the shrimp wontons are plump with shrimp and the soup wasn't salty. By far the best wonton soup I've had -- better than in Seattle's haha. We ordered shrimp dumplings -- very good! Super plump shrimp. Shrimp shu Mai, beet dumplings and egg rolls. I loved everything but my favorites was definitely the shrimp dumplings! The service could improve -- seems like they were a bit short that day. The restaurant is pretty nice.

Had dinner for the second time at Neptune Seafood house. First was for Chinese New Year, however we were not very impressed this time. We did the Peking Duck with 5 items again. It was good but not worth the money. The seafood was tasteless and bland. There was an order error and when we told them we immediately noticed that the service went from amazing to non existent. They brought chicken and cashew instead or prawn and cashew. Even the Calamari (salt and spicy) was just ok. A few pieces were over cooked. What ever the chow mein topping was had a bland flour Roux sauce that left us turned off. Fried rice with preserved meats was ok but not as good as before. The Peking duck was amazing thank good and you get the bonus lettuce wraps so that was yummy. I can honestly say we won't be back.

Neptune Palace Restaurant here is divided into two. One is the classy restaurant and the other is sort like an express restaurant, but still a full service restaurant. For this review, it is the classy restaurant. I like how the entrance has a stationed robot with hand sanitizer and wipes for cleanliness and safety. I like the ambience of this place. I have been to the other Neptune restaurant in Richmond as well. I believe these picture dishes are self explanatory of the ingredients and calls out a a drooling expression of hunger! I highly recommend this place as it also connected to the Central City mall, and conveniently beside Walmart! So you can do grocery shopping after dinner!

One change from COVID: condiments and sauces are brought to the table in little plastic to-go containers.

Neptune is one of the fancier Chinese Seafood restaurants in Surrey, and the go-to place for Dim Sum whenever my parents and I are in the neighbourhood. The establishment is always classy and clean with great service and good food that is on the same level as Kirin. The place has reopened with the slow easy of physical distancing rules. As of writing this review, I want to highlight some new changes the restaurant has made in order to keep staff and patrons safe during these times: - Customers are required to stand in front of the temperature check machine before entering the restaurant. If you have a fever, you cannot proceed. - All staff are wear surgical masks, face shields, and latex gloves. - Tables are spaced apart, and signs remind patrons of physical distancing rules. - Customers are asked to limit their dining experience to 90 minutes or less. - All bowls/plates and utensils are placed on the table, and customers must set up their own place settings. - Little sauces and condiments that accompany Dim Sum dishes now come in the tiny to-go containers. - If you have leftovers you wish to pack up and go, they will bring the boxes to your table and you must pack it yourself. - One-way foot traffic: enter via the parking lot doors and exit into the attached mall.

The 2 of us came here for a birthday dim sum lunch. We ordered the mushroom dumpling, chicken chow mein, & fried calamari. The sauces on a couple of dishes seemed to be the same sauce. I only liked the mushroom dumplings. I don't mind paying extra for quality food but I wasn't impressed. My friend who is a regular here mentioned that their menu isn't as extensive and prices were higher. Service was okay. It's located in the Mall and parking is complimentary.

The interior was nice and modern. Comfy chairs, sleek tables and I got to choose a bigger table with a lazy Susan in the middle. A couple of staff members were quick to help us with teas or anything else we needed. We chose the Yang Chow Fried Rice which came in a very unique pyramid configuration. We also ordered eggplant, har gow, sui mai and BBQ pork buns. All were pretty standard, with my only disappointment being the BBQ pork buns. I'm not sure what happened with the steamer or the steaming process, but 2/3 buns in the bamboo container came out looking good and fluffy, but the third came out looking and feeling quite soggy. Good solid choice for Dim Sum if you are in South Surrey. I'd be interested in trying their dinner dishes in the near future.

Which means not the friendliest or best, but that is usually the sign of a great restaurant. We had to ask for the dim sum menu, which isn't extensive but has all the staples. Siu Mai, har gow, char siu bao. The food was decent and we did order one other dish off the regular menu, which was a veggie dish, but they said they could only make Chinese broccoli for lunch. Honestly, there are other restaurants in this strip mall plaza that I'd try before going back, but in a pinch it isn't terrible.

Big size and very delicious. I'd ask for extra dipping sauce (or the chill oil if you like spicy). These can get messy if you don't be careful. Take a small bite of the skin first and sip the soup inside before diving in. The soup is very hot, so I usually pour it onto a spoon and drink it from there. #13 is translated as "Steamed Mini Pork Buns" in English and Shanghai Xiaolongbao in Chinese on the menu, which is misleading. When I ordered it last time, it turned out to be the same buns as #14, just steamed instead of deep-fried. They're large and not mini at all like traditional XLB. Personally, I didn't enjoy them as much as the fried version and wouldn't order them again. They tend to stick together and aren't very to-go friendly. #14 is the star here, and it's absolutely worth coming back for.
