FOLLOWUP-I made a mistake as the battery was not purchased here so please disregard the review prior. I apologize. David was kind enough to come all the way to where my car broken down this morning to help which I greatly appreciate. The extra level of service was fantastic and a big help went in to get a new battery for my jaguar. We've driven the car 5000 miles stalled out at a restaurant because the batteries completely dead. Also had an issue with air-conditioning. They said it was low on Freon so they added Freon and then said that's not it you need a new compressor, when I took it to another dealership, they said, for some reason all the Freon been removed and there's none in the system. I didn't need a new compressor I needed Freon. so this morning I have to get a tow truck to get it out of the restaurant area so I can get it someplace to have a battery put in. Update: district manager approved refund but will take a week to be processed and a check mailed to us. Stick to oil changes here. For everything else be careful. Used cheaper refurbished parts even when I asked for OEM without explaining that's what they are doing. Was quick to diagnose I needed a new compressor without fully troubleshooting AC system for leaks. Car is worse then when I originally brought it in. Still no working AC, new noise when compressor does engage. They tried to blame noise on the motor. And now engine is overheating. Was forced to go to another mechanic to assess noise and bring it back to prove compressor #1 they put in was making the noise. Now I'm getting the run around on the refund. Everything they did is useless to me as another shop will need to replace to warranty the AC system. read more

I had used this place years ago and was happy with their service... was recently in the area and decided to get an oil change: found their coupon online for $60 for a synthetic oil change... checked out and it was over $100... I asked why so high... they charged to take off the skid plate (um... ok... shouldn't that be included? A lot of cars have them now a days... it takes a whole minute to unscrew 4 screws and then put them back with an electric screwdriver) and they said they used more than 5 qts oil... and charged for the extra oil. That's strange I said, according to the manufacturer (and other garages I've used) it only takes 5 qts! So yeah, I guess they like to up charge their customers. I wouldn't recommend going back under this new management. read more

I've gone here for over 10 years for oil changes, inspections and occasional repairs. I used to feel like they were honest. This last week my son took his car for an inspection. They told him all his brake pads needed replacing urgently. Even noting in the report that the front were "metal on metal" and the rear were near metal on metal. This didn't sound right to me so I took it to our regular mechanic. Sure enough he said they were totally fine and had 50% life left. Kwik Kar had completely lied. read more

I go into my dealership for oil changes, but had to head out of town last minute, so stopped by here. Service was quick, but 2.5 months later, I'm back at the dealership, who has changed my oil for the last 5 years, without issue, to be told that Kwik Kar stripped my drain plug. Manager was friendly, but because I didn't come back to them to fix it, I had to pay $150 to resolve the issue at the dealership. Friendly doesn't fix the problem. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! The only thing Kwik about this shop is the speed with which they will try to sell you unnecessary services! Have used them for years for state inspection. Only recently did they try to "scam" me into purchasing unnecessary services to complete the inspection. Tried to get me to pay for replacement air filter (recently replaced!), cabin air filter (black! of course, it contains activated charcoal for odor control!), power steering flush, transmission flush, radiator flush, and gas cap. Also wanted over $200 for a battery, the comparable version of which sells for $80 - $100 at nearby facilities. The shame of this all is that I was there on a very busy day and they were scamming other motorists with the same list of "services"(?)! Will never go there again, nor will anyone in my family! read more

The owner's comments are inaccurate. I didn't call anyone a name at any time. My son was led to believe that he needed a brake flush to pass inspection. I did raise my voice AFTER the assist manager (who identified himself to me as the manager) raised his voice to me. I am in the transportation service industry. I know how a customer should be treated. Further more I know how to make repairs on my vehicles. Last time I checked I am the customer not your employee. Treat your customers with respect!!! I asked to speak to a higher up mgmt, the assist mgr refused to contact the manager. Another assist mgr stepped in in the middle of the conversation. I was offered a refund for the flush and will be going by to collect said refund. Hopefully you hold true to that. I was offered a free oil change. I never said anything about that. But think, why would I go back to a place of service that already treated me this way!! Would you Mr/Ms Owner? Wow. I used to really like this place and had been taking both my vehicles here for the past 2 years, but after my last visit, I'll never come here again. They charged me $72.00 for an oil change and to top off my washer fluid. I've NEVER had to pay so much. Plus, at the bottom of the receipt it says $10 off between 8 and 10, I was in there at 9:30, so what was it supposed to be $82.00?! The new owners are out of their minds. I'll be going somewhere else from now on. In Response to Joshua : Before, I was paying $60 for the exact same service. Nothing had changed, other than the owners. Need a negative star option. The worse scam place you will ever go to..and I'm just talking about Colleyville location. Went there for a simple oil change and David came in and told me that I needed all new brakes front and rear and a list of other things. Trusting him I went ahead and paid and I had to bring my truck back while the had to order parts. Being skeptical I went to a different place from a family friends and they said I was being completely lied to. My ftont brakes had wear but my rear brakes were completely fine. Kwik Kar Colleyville also charged me $274 in shop labor and they had my truck 20 minutes. Went back to request a refund and they sent me a check 3 weeks later $200 short of what I am owed. I originally had 2 cars ahead of me for inspection then after AN HOUR of waiting I had 7 cars ahead of me. Everywhere else was closed. I took my old Gran Marquis into the shop because I needed an oil change. The day before the car started knocking badly. Upon initial look, it appeared the spark plug wiring was arcing on the plugs and I'd need new plugs/wires. The manager worked to get the price down significantly on these. Shortly he called me back and said, "Sir, we pushed down on the wires etc. and the connection was reestablished. It looks like whomever did the air filter for you knocked them loose. It would have been very easy for them to be dishonest and go ahead with the spark and wire change. I would have never know. But they were HONEST!!! This earns my future business. They saved me ~$300. If I could give this asshole a negative rating I would. I went in to have the plugs changed. Asked if he (the manager) could sleeve a cracked vacuum line (Which controls my a.c. blend door) to wit he did. But he also pulled the vac line from inside the dash behind the firewall then denied he did it. The manager who claimed to be a mechanic all of a sudden can't do that kind of repair work. So I just took it to a real mechanic who says it's gonna cost $1200 to fix. Screw this guy, he's a rip off artist and if he messes up your car, he'll say it was already like that and it'll cost you more. I gave him the opportunity to fix it, he said he could try but I'd have to pay. I should've known better than to go to a glorified oil and lube shop. read more

Sorry to hear the other two reviewers had bad experiences with this location. I have received service from this location for some time and have been pleased with the service. In fact, I am pleased the manager curently running the shop is there. The manager has run two other locations for Kwik Kain in the Fort Worth area and turned the businesses around. During the times that I have brought my 4 cars in for service over the last 7 years we have received excellent service. The manager has taken time to discuss service options, why the service is necessary, whether the service is needed immediately or if we could hold off on service. Over the 7 years, not all of the work has been perfect but when issues occured, they have taken care of the issues to my satisfation. I've never had an issue with State inspections or felt the shop was recommending service that was not necessary. I am confident in the service provided by this location and have no reservations about taking my vehicles back for service. read more

This is the only place I would take my car to because the price compare to firestone that actually saves me about $300 from last major maintenance. The manager of this shop was very friendly by going through some spics about some issues with my SUV. I not a handy guy but listen someone who actually know what's going on rather then have other shops try to sell you to fix things that is not needed. The owner was there when I was waiting at the lobby and was asking customers if they need bottle something to drink. I own ran a restaurant never though about offering someone for a beverage while they waiting for their to go orders. Now, that is great customer service!! I just can not believe by reading bad reviews about this shop. Just because your car fail the inspection meaning SCAM??? If we have more of these people al they do is write something that is not true could easily ruin small business owners like us. read more

Danger! Kwik Kar left me leaking! Actually, they put my 18-year-old daughter behind the wheel of a car that they over-torqued the drain plug and stripped out. Thankfully the dealership we took it to two weeks later for a door repair showed us the leak and warned us against driving the vehicle as the plug could work it's way lose and blow the engine. My wife had the pan replaced at the dealership. But, Kwik Kar said she should have had it towed across town and figured out some other transportation instead of having the dealership fix the problem. They were unresponsive for three weeks and six attempts to resolve. Currently, they are baulking at helping to recover the $720 I had to pay the dealership. More importantly, there appears to be no remorse for their unsafe actions. read more

This is the worst place to get an oil change in Texas. These guys are complete jokes and don't deserve to be in business. I brought my car in for a simple oil change, and 30 miles down the road my car is smoking and the oil pressure lights are going off. I have to pull over to prevent my engine from melting, and see a river of oil pouring out of my car. I get it towed to the nearest oil change place and they tell me that the last people (Kwik Kar Colleyville) forgot to put an oil filter in and put the plug on backwards, BACKWARDS. When we went back in to talk to the owner about what happened he was very unapologetic, rude in fact. He offered to cover the price of the SECOND oil change that I had to get because of his incompetent staff, but nothing else. We still had to pay for the oil change, if you want to call it that, from his store. I will never return to this business, and I will broadcast this disservice to everyone i know in the North Texas area looking to get an oil change. Overall poor experience for State Inspection. Did break test with checking to see that I had heavy objects in back that were thrown around; left mess when changing safety sticker on window and dash; put new sticker partially on other sticker; did not remove old glue from window prior to installing new sticker. This may have been due to the fact that the employee carried on a conversation with another employee the whole time working. He could have completed the inspection in half the time if he focused on his job...working on my car. read more

Kwik Kar employees in Colleyville, TX helped this woman in distress and saved the day. My scooter tire went flat at the business next to theirs and not only did they try and help me with the tire, they ended up keeping the scooter in their garage overnight until I could get help there. They were all very kind and I am thankful such a nice bunch of guys were there to help me. One of their customers even drove me home. They held onto the scooter until late the next day when a truck came to pick my bike up. I really appreciate them helping me. They went above and beyond and I am so thankful they offered to secure the bike overnight in their garage. Nice guys!! read more

Well, I looked this place up on Yelp after I was sitting in the lobby as my car was getting a oil change. Reviews were ok. Hmmm, they told me my lights were out over my license plate, no big deal, I got that replaced. So far no issue with this place. Except, I found it weird that the guy, who seemed like the owner or manager kept coming in the lobby and explaining to customers issues with their cars out loud in front of everyone. Like yelling across the lobby. The guy came in and told a lady that she would require some more work that her dealership must have missed. The price was $160 and then $40 for something else. She seemed a little uncomfortable with making decisions of services this quickly and in front of everyone. I find it really uncomfortable as well, sitting there having to listen. The way this manager puts the customers on the spot about additional services. He is really loud to and blunt. I personally think they would get more people to agree to additional services if they pull them out of the lobby and explain in more detail what they will do and what the benefit is to get this extra service done instead of yelling it at the customer across the lobby in front of everyone. Then came my turn, they said I needed new brake pads, my engine flushed, possible new something belt and air filter. Wow! I just wanted a simple oil change! Lol. I appreciate you pointing out those things but I didn't come prepared to pay for all that today. What I wanted to be a quick 30 mins was over an hour. I know to expect oil change places to add on additional services but geez. Overall wasn't to bad if you don't mind saying "Not today" 6 times. Lol. read more

I took my car there today to get the radiator flushed, and after checking, they said the coolant was fine and didn't need replacing. What honesty!
