I've been here twice and both experiences were great. I grew up going to a Kwik Kar with my Dad in the suburbs of Houston and it was always great. When I moved to Georgetown, I decided to give this location a try. My first experience was a State Inspection. Dominic and his team took good care of me. Friendly, quick, with a clean waiting room. Today, I got an oil change and I was thrilled to see Dominic working there almost year later. Same smiling, positive energy. Didn't upsell me, but showed me the state of my car and made some recommendations (including some things to wait on taking care of). If you're looking for an honest place with great customer service, I highly recommend. Sometimes good things come from procrastination. Not often, mind you. But sometimes. I desperately needed a vehicle inspection. It was toward the end of the month and one would think the biggest problem would be a long wait. No. I went to four car service places. No one was available for an inspection. I Yelped 'State Inspection' and Kwik Kar came up. When I got there, they told me to leave the truck in what appeared to be a dedicated line for inspection. I thought it would take a while, so I got a free bottle of water and sat down. Within a few minutes, the inspector called me out to the bay and told me I needed new windshield wiper blades (which had fallen to shreds) but other than that I was good to go. At check out, they gave me a coupon for a free car wash, too. But the service went further. I pulled in line to get my car wash and realized I'd left my phone in the waiting area. I was backing out to go get it when the young lady said, "Stay there, I'll find it for you." She had my phone in my sweaty palms in no time. They are better comedians than mechanics. We bring a work vehicle in for state inspection. They fail it for power steering fluid being too low - they told my technician it was "bone dry, completely empty." He asked if it was completely empty, wouldn't he notice it being hard to steer? They said yes. He said well it's not, it's as smooth as butter. They said "Well you must be hearing a noise when you turn, at least." Nope, no noise. How strange, for it to be bone dry, completely empty, yet driving beautifully and not making any noise! He also needed a new windshield wiper, which, fine, we keep those stocked. The front desk told him to just get the fluid filled and wiper replaced, and come right back. He did so, and they turned him away, saying he had to wait 24 hours for the reinspection - which would have been nice to know before, rather than being told to come right back. We replaced the wiper and bought more fluid. When putting more fluid in, it would only take a little bit before it was full - strange. Like literally maybe half a cup of fluid. We had him drive it all day just to make sure it wasn't a settling issue, and the reservoir was still full. So we sent him back for reinspection, and they failed him again! The reason this time? Fluid is TOO full! So, yesterday it was supposedly "bone dry," we put in possibly less than half a cup of fluid, and now it's OVER full? I could only laugh, and tell my tech to come back - we'll go some place else. Because this is nothing but really, really dumb joke. We have a fleet of vehicles, all the business for which Kwik Kar just lost forever. We are too busy to have our time wasted and intelligence insulted like this. read more

I came here for a simple state inspection on a diesel truck F350 it should only take 30 minutes because only the state safety should be checked. was told power steering fluid was low, I suggested that the power steering fluid was still within range, even if it was slightly low it was still above the low mark on the side of the reservoir. I went next-door and purchased power steering fluid to filled it up and now being told, they have to look underneath the truck to see if there's a leak, worst experience ever... This is a 250,000 mile truck, of course there's a leak... read more

Stopped in for a state inspection early Tuesday morning. First thing the attendant did was pop my hood and check all fluid levels. Stated that I need to flush coolant, power steering and brake fluid and that because of fluid levels car wouldn't pass inspection. Had attendant close hood and had husband take car to Hewitt where it passed without any problems. Kwik Kar was recommended as a good place for state inspection and oil changes. Dude!!! I brought my car today on a Sunday and as soon as I got in line this Black young employee ( yeah I'm saying black cause I didn't catch his name) came up and asks me what services I need. I told him I'm having issues with my air conditioner. Maybe it needs Freon? He told me if it does need Freon. He stated They charge around $150 for a recharge. And after he looked under my hood to make an assessment, He told me to be easier if I went over to O'Reillys next-door and bought a $40 recharge and it would possibly work for me and save me time. I went next-door and recharged my car and he was 100% completely right! I got my good ole AC back and didn't have to drop my car off. Thanks for the honesty! read more

So I just went here for an oil change. I like the fact that they do all over check of the car. They are pretty efficient. What I don't like is the fact that my change oil warning is still on after two days. I know they were supposed to reset the warning but I'm not sure that happened so we shall see. This place is great right up until the time it isn't. We have been coming here for over 7 years for car washes, oil changes, and inspections. This last July as I was coming through the car wash the machine ripped off the lens of my third brake light, you know the one, above the rear window on an SUV. They were very nice and agreed to fix it. And that's where things went slightly off the rails. We had to call them several times, I would guess three, just to get the part on order. Then when the part came in we diverted off the rails even more, when upon looking at the part and the car, they told us they needed to order a special tool. After another one or two pokes to see when could they fix the lens, it finally arrived and we scheduled to take the car in for a "easy" repair. After one hour, we took the car back after they had removed the strut covers and the cover to the brake light on the inside, as I didn't have time to sit at the shop any longer. Brought it back in and left it for the next "easy" repair that would take about two and half hours. Next day I called and wanted to know what was going on and I talked to the shop manager who asked me how to open the liftgate. I indicated the three ways and was informed the liftgate wouldn't open. What? Now this is where it is completely off the rails. Personally I looked up how to replace this third brake light and lens; and it isn't easy. And requires special tools and knowledge. I'm pretty handy and I wouldn't have even attempted it. I called the dealer and asked how long to replace the assembly and was told about 2 hours with part in hand. Back to Kwik Kar, it is now September : I went in, I talked to Whitney, who now claims to be the car wash manager only, and whom we have been working with. I'll admit, I was no longer a happy customer but she got angry and got in my face and said, "I will no longer talk to you, you are disrespectful and I won't deal with disrespectful people." Fine, I said, talk to him, indicating my husband. And she told me she wasn't talking to me. My husband asked what happened, they didn't know but the liftgate won't open so they were pricing a new liftgate to replace ours. But, here's where rails came back into play, they were moving the car to Big Boy Collision in Pflugerville. I was told I couldn't take my car anywhere I wanted to because Kwik Kar wouldn't pay for the repairs. My dealer had indicated this would be approximately $1000, so....It went to Big Boy Collision. Check their Yelp for that review, they were excellent. Kwik Kar told me they were moving the vehicle that afternoon, a Friday. I have an AirTag on my key and the key didn't move until Monday. However, they did drive the car down either Friday or Saturday. On Sunday, I was down in Pflugerville and decided to drive by Big Boy to see if I wanted my car to be fixed by this shop. There was my car! Window down, alright, cracked about two inches and unlocked! What the hell? After all this, on Tuesday I began dealing directly with Big Boy Collision as they would one, answer the phone, and two, spoke intelligently regarding the repairs. Now I can't definitely prove it was Kwik Kar personnel or Big Boy's shop but I believe it was Kwik Kar that stole money out from under the arm rest....was it a lot? No but it was embarrassing to find out as drove through for my weekly donut that my cash was gone, about $10. I can't tell you not to go here for oil changes or inspections, they can do that, but I would be wary of any car repairs as they aren't a full shop. They get two stars for routine stuff and lack five for the mess they created in my car and not having the vehicle for use. read more

I highly recommend you do not bring your vehicle here! I brought my Toyota CHR here for a standard oil change. Little did I know a short time later, they put the wrong oil filter on! When I left my house and within 10 min , all the oil had drained out of my car. Thank God my car shut down with the safety feature so my engine was not damaged. After sitting on the side of the road for 6.5 hours in the 106 degree heat with my daughter, a tow truck came. Took it to Toyota of CP where they took a video of the wrong oil filter that was put on. All of my evidence and bills were sent to the manager Matt. He acknowledged it was the wrong oil filter and said his boss would get with me. Still no word and I'm beyond frustrated. All I want it my money back! It's not hard to right a wrong but KK has failed to do so. I would give it a zero star if that was an option. I have a video, bills, etc. enough proof of them putting in the wrong oil filter. Toyota: cost of oil change and to clean all the oil that flew up onto my car, $359 Tow truck : $75. All because their mechanics put the wrong oil filter on my car and it popped off. I should have read the reviews beforehand. What do you expect for a place that has 2.5 stars. Smh read more

Came here for an inspection today. Was told that I need a steering wheel flush and break fluid flush. My car had no issues. At the time I figured that a flush shouldn't cost too much. HUGE MISTAKE I MADE. I should have said no and walked out. But I said yes without asking the price. I spent over $300 on just a flush. I am never coming here again. Went in for a simple Texas Required Inspection and will never come back again, there is a smaller shop down the road who go out of their way to help you, this one was just 2 min closer. I've used this location for 7 years, mainly for Texas vehicle inspections. Its close to my house and convenient. In the past I was normally I walk in/ Drive in. I have had many vehicles that need an inspection, motorcycles, Large RV and 4 or 5 cars. They do them all. Earlier this year I used their on line appointment and it went well. On line it says," Save time and make an online appointment." It worked last time. Don't believe it now. Today I had an Inspection appointment scheduled for 9:00am this morning. I received a pleasant email saying to arrive at my scheduled time. I arrived just before 9:00am. I was greeted upon my arrival before I got out of the car. I explained I had an appointment for Inspection. I was told to drive around back and get in the long line of cars for inspections. I asked, "how long will it take?" He replied, About an hour and a half. I told him I would need to leave the car, and I'd call my wife to pick me up and asked them to call when it was ready. He replied, "We can't do that, you need to stay with the vehicle." I explained I can't do that and would have to do it another time. So I guess making an appointment is a real waste of time. It doesn't save any time. I'm not sure if he really meant you had to stay with the vehicle or " in" the vehicle. I just wish the website said if you are getting an inspection don't waste your time filling this out a reservation, and don't wait for your appointment time to come get in line for an inspection. Next time I will call in advance and ask, "How long is the wait for an inspection?" read more

Came in for a simple state inspection. Who knew I would get an employee who would throw a temper tantrum because he actually had to do his job. These inspections usually take 10-15 minutes but this inspector took nearly an hour on my car, after i waited 30 plus minutes just until he got to my car. He tried to find anything he could to fail my car, he couldn't which i will presumed upset him all the more. I spoke to the manager in a polite and calm manner and he repeatedly apologized and stated Kwik Kar is making improvements. Well they have lost me as a customer. read more

I have been doing business with them for many years as it is nearby Sun City. In the past prices were reasonable and cheaper than other shops on Williams drive. The last time I brought my vehicle in to get an oil change an employee met me at the bay and I told him I needed an oil change. For some reason I asked how much would it cost? He said however much it was, paused and kind of sheepishly asked "is that ok?" I found that odd. I told him this price was much higher than I have been paying and the kid said "the prices had gone up." I get my oil changed frequently so I asked when did the price increase and got a somewhat ambiguous answer of "a while ago." I thought that was odd as well. I was past due on an oil change and about to make a long distance trip so I went along with it. I now wish I hadn't. At checkout I looked at the ticket and noticed the price increase was in the form of some random $25 SERVICE CHARGE!!! At the bottom left of the form there was a block containing a poorly worded explanation (complete with spelling errors and typos) explaining the derivation of the charge which was total nonsense. I found this odd as well. I was very disappointed with this addition of some random service charge and the general odd and evasive comments and explanations given. I seriously wonder whether the owner is actually aware that this is going on? I'm not going back, and neither should you. Something is just not right there. read more

She worked super hard to get the bugs from Big Bend National park off that were baked on hard and ran my car through a second time. The guys outside were sweating in the sun and very nice as well. These guys did a horrible job on my vehicle. They failed to secure the under cover when they changed the oil and it ended up coming popping off, and I drug it and nearly had an accident because of it. Then they tried to tell me that the screws were stripped and popped off is what happened, when they never put the screws back in the first place. I really hate it when people don't take responsibility for their failures and then try to treat me like I am some dumb woman who does not know any better. They charged him $69.95 for the oil change, which is on the high-end but semi-reasonable - but then they tacked on a bogus $25 "Service Charge" for nothing! I've taken my Ram 1500 in here for oil changes multiple times, and they definitely never tried to get away with slipping a bogus $25 Service Charge past me! To make matters worse, when I called to complain some guy named Case (who claimed he was a manager, but there's no way anyone would ever let this kid manage anything) was rude as hell to me on the phone. He claimed the charge was to cover "you know, just things around the shop"; and then he said "I don't know what to tell you, man, that's just how it is, deal with it" and refused to let me talk to the owner. When I told him we'd never be coming back due to the overcharge, his cocky & obnoxious reply was "Sounds good". Hard to believe this is the way they treat long-time local customers, but it makes more sense when I see that over 60% of their online reviews are 1-star and full of the same complaints about taking advantage of women, the young & the elderly; followed by horrible customer service by rude management and an even more rude & stubborn owner. read more

This was my 2 vehicle in the last couple of weeks to bring in for inspection. First time was fast, efficient and great customer service! Today I Came back for reinspection of vehicle. Immediately greeted by a nice young lady... I was given instructions as what to do and I went inside to wait. 25 minutes later I see a vehicle taken in to get inspection I know came in after me! I questioned the same young lady, she showed a lot of concern and stuck her head out the door to question the tech that had began servicing the new vehicle and the previous two vehicles. She was hastily rebuffed / chastised and told to go inside and take out the trash!!! It is her job to check on customers concerns. When the same male tech came inside ...we got into a heated argument about business procedures and etiquette in taking to staff that way in front of customers. He started to bring up her work history there at the store and I bluntly told him that is no concern of mine and not to talk about that stuff to any customer. I explained I was only concerned with how he treated a staff member in front of me, and what I saw first hand. He just brought up his military history, I brought up my government service also. NEVER AGAIN! in a city growing this fast and large, there has to be a better place to get your car inspected! It all started Thur. when I arrived @ 5:35pm for a Steve vehicle inspection. After waiting in a line of only 1 car, mine, the attendant took my insurance card @ 5:38pm. Soon there after his manager came out to inform him that they did not accept any State inspections after 5:30pm. I'm fine w/ the rule, but POST YOUR 5:30pm RULE ON YOUR WEBSITE before letting your future customers leave work early to arrive disappointed. Next day, they held me hostage for an hour & 10 min. from 9:45am-10:55am...for a State Inspection 1 week before month's end. If you can't get a State Inspection in a timely manner, what else can they not do well? read more

Apparently they are appointment only now-went by this morning - only one bay occupied, but they said I needed an appointment. Called (Friday 9/11) to make appt for Monday 9/14. They stated it was too far out, and they were only booking for Saturday. I have been going there since they opened with multiple vehicles, and I drive a Ford F250 which takes 15 quarts of oil, and get my fuel filters there - 2 filters on a diesel truck - major service. Needless to say, my bill is always high, but I have been glad to go there. Now it's 3 PM on a Friday, and they can't give me an appt for the following Monday because it's "too far out". New car wash opening across the street, which will take their business, and there's plenty of places to get an oil change. Business can't last with these practices. They've lost mine. read more

I was driving down to San Antonio and realized I needed an oil change in a bad way. I usually go to the Kwik Kar over by my house, but it slipped my mind before I left. The lobby is pretty big and comfy with lots of room to stretch out in. The people were super nice and friendly. The free WiFi was down when I was there, but that's not the end of the world. You have to fill out a form and tell them what you want done and then they take the form and start to work on your car. When they were done and I was paying for it, I showed the girl behind the counter the Kwik Kar app on my phone to "punch" the digital punch card (half price oil change with the 10th oil change) and she didn't know what it was, so that was weird. I mean, it's their own app and they had never seen it before. They did good work, but it was strange that they didn't know anything about their own phone app. read more

I took my car (a 2008 VW EOS) in for an oil change and I also had a coupon for a free tire rotation. The woman at the front desk, Josie, told me it would be no more than 30 minutes. The "tire rotation" and oil change took 2 and a half hours. The next day, I drove to my grandmothers house and then back to my house. As soon as I got home, my grandmother called to inform me that I had left very large OIL STAINS in her driveway. Immediately I go outside to my driveway, and the results were likewise- huge oil stains all over my driveway. Immediately, my dad and I go back to Kwik Kar. We tell them of the news and the employees go to check underneath my car and evidently, the cap was left on loose by a Kwik Kar employee. Next, we find out that they hadn't put in synthetic oil into my engine as I had specifically asked for. Mind you, I have been driving this car for almost 4 years now and I am FULLY AWARE that it takes synthetic oil. However, I was accused by the Kwik Kar employees of lying, they said I told them to NOT use synthetic oil. Not only was I already upset that they left the cap loose, AND that there were unnecessary oil stains left on my driveway and my grandmother's driveway, but to accuse a customer of lying is extraordinarily disrespectful. Remember how I mentioned I was supposed to get a free tire rotation? Well, the special tool used to rotate my tires was located in my trunk and hadn't been touched. So during those 2 1/2 hours that my mother and I waited for my car to be finished, they didn't even complete a tire rotation, even though my receipt said I did receive a tire rotation. Additionally, Kwik Kar did not offer me a refund or any additional discounts. The manager and employees did not apologize for their mishap. Many of the employees acted as this has happened before. I am very disappointed in their service and I will not be returning. I would highly recommend that anyone with a foreign car, or any car for that matter, NOT service their car at this facility. read more
