I have 2 red flags, I waited since august to write a bad review because I had hoped it was just a mistake. Anyway first time I go in to get a state inspection and the very next day, not even 24 hours later, my back blinker isn't working. I call them and ask what that is about and they tell me to bring my car back in. It magically starts working again and then fails, I just ordered a new bulb and replaced it. The second red flag is I had called them and asked if it was possible to get an old receit and they tell me they can. So I drive there and the guy wants to take my car into the stalls and tells me they don't keep receipts past 3 months. I really didn't know at the time and I just wanted to check if it was in the system. The guy comes back into the shop and doesn't even try to look it up and just tells me he's going to do another inspection on it. I don't need another inspection I just wanted my receipt. Then as he pulls my car around after telling him I didn't want service he sneezes all over my steering wheel in front of me in some kind of passive aggressive behavior. I was on the fritz with these guys till the bad egg made it apparent the kind of business they're running. So now I just assume they're scummy guys and replace bad bulbs during the inspections and then lie to me multiple times on the phone and in person while giving me an attitude. read more

Went in for state inspections on two different occasions, service was great & staff was very friendly. Waiting room was clean. They weren't busy when we went so got to our vehicles right away & we were on our way quickly. Again very friendly & nice, which goes a long way w/ me! read more

I took my car for oil change a month ago for the first time and they charged me $229 including $80 for oil change even more than dealers. But the worst thing is my car was almost broke from oil leak which we luckily were able to catch it right on time when we see the light on it all happened out of town which makes it even worse. The oil pan was empty when we measure it and we stopped driving immediately, contacted nearest place to be fixed. We were told they over tightened it and it crakes and created oil leak. I wont recommend them to anyone to go there are spend that much money for very poor service and job. TY read more

I often stop by this Kwik Kar when I'm due (or sometimes long overdue) for an oil change. It's close to my house so sometimes while I'm out running an errand, it's just convenient to stop here and get the oil changed. They have one of the nicer waiting areas compared to other places. Realized my registration and thus inspection are due by the end of Oct. I needed to pickup my nieces from school and not much time to spare. Called Kwik Kar and spoke to Jason who said it wasn't too busy and would take less than 20 minutes. Awesome! Got dressed and jumped in my ride and made the short drive over to Red Bud and Gattis. By this time there were a handful of vehicles waiting. I started to turn around and a young man named D'Andre approached my car. I told him the situation and he said he will get me in fast so I am not late to get the girls. Next thing I know he's pulling my car in. Josh performed my inspection and removed old sticker from windshield and tidied up. He explained to me how the new 2Steps1Sticker thing works and told me how to get my registration. Can't really find fault in this place. The service is good and unlike other reviews, I don't feel any pressure when I go. I have had numours services done and they are always honest with what they recommned. The waiting area is nice and clean and a lot bigger than any other in the area. I really like this place. Jesse really took care of my daughter's car which was leaking oil, had the check engine light on and struggled to maintain highway speeds. Jesse found and replaced a leaking valve cover gasket as well as finding and replacing very dirty fuel and air filters which looks like was the cause of the check engine light. Needed an oil change and inspection. Oil change took FOREVER (and had nothing to do with covid). The guy blamed it on my "huge skid plate". Lol I've had enough oil changes to know that is a 100% BS excuse. While the truck was sitting two people slipped in front of me for the inspection so I said nevermind ring me up. Guys were hanging out talking and leaning on my truck like they owned it. Didn't check or top off low tire pressure. Never checked the reviews on this place before but not surprised now that I've seen them. It's a shame, this place could clean up being right outside of forest creek, but not with service like this. read more

I've been taking my cars here for about 6 years and I've never had an issue. I had an older vehicle that needed new transmission fluid and the dealer wanted $800. Kwik Kar did it for $70. They're fast, efficient and friendly. In the past there has always been a negative stigma with these types of quick oil change places however I think this location is an exception. read more

I made my girlfriend an appointment for a state inspection on a Saturday knowing it would be busy on the weekend. They confirmed my appointment and upon checking in the guy at the front desk told us there were already 10 cars there waiting before us and that making an appointment for a state inspection didn't matter. Which would have been okay if he had been polite about it, but he was being blatantly rude and seemed annoyed that we had the audacity to expect service at the time of our appointment. Took my 14 wrangler for an oil change a couple of weeks ago. They put the wrong filter on and almost caused a major issue. I got on the toll road and it wouldn't accelerate and was showing no oil pressure. Had to park it in a lot, and have it towed to the dealership. Including the 60 I spent on the oil change, I spent a total of 450 fixing this screw up. I called to explain my issue. My number was supposedly given to the owner. I never received a call to say sorry. This was an unbelievably bad experience and I urge everyone reading this to take their business elsewhere. read more

Went for state inspection CAR CAME BACK MISSING A HUB CAP AND NEEDING AN ALIGNMENT, and they won't pay up. Mechanics here are qualified by the state to work on cars. They are not qualified to drive. The mechanics here need driving lessons. It's PITIFUL!! DO NOT let them take your car without RIDING SHOTGUN. THEY WILL REALLY TEST YOUR CAR TO THE LIMITS! I pull into this place at 4:58 pm to get my oil changed unaware of their hours. Two bay doors on right are open with staff leaning against walls staring out to the street. Once they see me pull in they quickly shut both bay doors. No big deal that they were closing but the tact in which it was handled was terrible. I realize they are just kids working there looking forward to the end of the day but instead of using it as a learning experience the manager gets belligerent with me. Apparently he han't learned customer service skills as he was just a child himself. I'm gonna find out who the owner is and give him my resume' so i can teach the kids how a customer should be treated. What a shame. I have a large customer base I deal with on a daily basis myself and will be sure to let them know my bad experience. We have been taking our car here for several years. They are great for everything from oil changes to brake repair. Evan, one of the mechanics, is efficient and knowledgeable. All of the guys on the crew are helpful and friendly. Unless I need a major repair that can only be handled by a dealer or a full-service shop, I feel great about taking my car to Kwik-Kar. I took my car in for some work that was going to take a few hours. They gave me a ride home and then came to pick me up once the repairs were complete. I came here yesterday for an inspection and at first I was a bit skeptical as I had read previous bad reviews but also saw some good ones so I took a chance. I'm glad I did, as my experience was pretty painless. I parked and walked inside and was greeted by a nice man and asked him if they could take my car and he said yes but that there was a little wait as I was about 4th in line. I said it was fine and sat down the in the very clean waiting room and before 45 minutes was up my car was pulled up front and I was checked out and it only cost $18.50. We have come here for years. Looks like staffing changed to a bunch of morons. Went in for oil change. It is an older car. It is in good shape. I was told they could not do oil change because the head gasket must be blown or radiator or water pump- ya think they were grabbing at straws... Told there was so much oil or oil and water mix blown up under hood that they didn't want to touch it. The car has been driven to and from Austin for the last month- no overheating, no puddles on driveway which they said I must have had. I took the car home- no fluids in engine compartment. The second time though they said my car needs a higher priced oil and that if I don't get it, it will void my warranty. No mechanic onsite to troubleshoot a problem, which was a blessing in hindsight. The guy who used to run the counter had this place running like a well oiled machine. Wow these guys really do it right! I live just about .5 miles from this shop so I've been using them for almost 2 years. Always fast friendly and competent, they even sent a worker down to jump my truck when my battery died at no charge, so when my radiator started leeking I took it to them. They replaced the radiator in a timely manner at a fair price and I went on my way. Unfortunately about a week later I was in Austin when my tranny conked out. It turns out one of the hoses involved with the radiator/tranny had slipped off, to make a long story short, I had the truck towed back up to the shop, where they quickly replaced the hose clip and fluid at no charge, and paid my towing bill, no questions asked. This place is my goto Kar-Kare provider. With 2 aging Fords I've had my share of issues and Erick has been absolutely awesome. I fully trust the guy and he has never let me down. They have never recommended any unneeded service. I've spent a lot there, but I know they have saved me a LOT as well. As an example, I just took my Ranger in because my brake and ABS lights were coming on often. I knew my brakes were getting low and I hear a slight brake sound so I assumed it was time to have them serviced. Erick found it was just low on brake fluid and didn't try to sell me on brake service before I actually needed it, which I KNOW others would have done in a minute. To top it off, my total bill was zip. That's right NO CHARGE. They know me and know I had a lot of work done there, so they didn't even charge me a dime. How awesome is that? I'm totally sold and won't go elsewhere unless the work is outside Erick's wheelhouse. read more

i have been going to this location for a few years now until recently i have noticed a few changes. I was a bit confused when i pulled up and thought to have seen customers in the bay but to find out they were employee's wearing everyday clothing and not in uniform.... found that to be a little bit odd. One other thing that i experienced and did not like at all, a girl was pressuring and demanding me to get new windshield wipers replaced when I had just replaced them myself... i felt very uncomfortable with her making me feel belittled and thinking i don't know a thing about cars... but i still enjoy the quick service and very clean waiting area. If they say their service INCLUDES vacuum and tire pressure check why don't they do that by default? I had to ask 3x to get that done. Went here in June for an oil change and inspection on a 27 yr old Jeep. Not even 5 mins after they pulled it in the bay, the guy came out and rattled off things that needed to be fixed before they could do an oil change, something to do with the oil pan and even a heating coil, totaling out to around $500. I told them nevermind as the actual owner of the Jeep could look at it to tell me and just do the inspection. I finally got around to doing the oil change myself this morning, first time in 30 yrs I've had to do one and that aside, I was able to drain the oil, put on a new filter and put in new oil without anything being a problem. If someone like me who doesn't do engine work much can do it, that tells me they were trying to fleece me for extra work I didn't need. I'd go somewhere else if I were you or otherwise question the work the 'say' you need. Should be any issue just to get down there, unplug and drain the oil, put the plug back in swap the filter and put in new oil, especially if I can do it myself no problem. Schiesters read more

This is much improved facility grounds from years ago but I am always asked to put some kind of oil in my engine no matter what car I have and it is regularly serviced by Honda but they always make me feel like I better put it in or the car will suffer a lot ect...I fell for it years ago and since then I say no but it makes me so uncomfortable that I don't go back anymore. read more
