I can't tell you how much they suck. They put the wrong battery in my car and fried the whole electrical system. They first told me it would take 3 days to get a new computer installed. I got my car back 9 weeks later. Two weeks after they fried my car, I found out my car was at Kwik Kar in Dripping Springs. RR didn't tell me that. I got a call from a manager in Dripping Springs who said he needed to replace another part. So the DS Kwik Kar kept replacing parts but still couldn't fix the car, and then suddenly that manager didn't work there anymore. The new manager took my car to a totally different shop in Dripping Springs. They didn't tell me about that either. I only knew where my car was because I had an air tag in it. The other company (not Kwik Kar) finally fixed my car, and the manager at RR Kwik Kar drove it back to RR. Oh, and he used the toll road but didn't compensate me for the toll (or even tell me he did it). And now, Kwik Kar RR and DS say they don't have any documentation of the work that was done in their shops. That includes a battery, a computer, a throttle sensor, an AC compressor sensor, and fuses--those are the parts I know of that Kwik Kar replaced but can't provide documentation of . What are they trying to hide? The managers at these two Kwik Kar locations are incompetent, unprofessional, uncaring a-holes. They don't know how to change a battery. They don't know how to communicate while they attempt to fix their mistakes. They don't know how to take responsibility. Nobody owned up to making a mistake. Nobody apologized for screwing up my car or messing up my life for two months. And they act like it's not their problem when you still need them to follow up. Brought my car in since the check engine light came on and had this location run diagnostics. They came back with the needed fixes and told me it would be over $700. Trusting them as the experts, I agreed and paid for the services. A week after receiving services, my check engine light came back on. Frustrated, I called and came back to this location to find out what went wrong. They then proceeded to tell me that I would need to pay an additional $400 for more services. Honestly, I am not sure if they did any work at all during my first visit! I spoke with the manager, and he gave me the same pushback and was not willing to make any accommodations. Customer service here is at a record low and I do not recommend this location to anyone. read more

Took my GMC truck in for brake repair/rotors replaced/pads replaced and Joey explained everything that needed to be fixed in great detail. I don't think I have ever been this comfortable with a mechanic before. Before work started, the Manager and Joey made sure that there were no remaining questions and the final cost was up front and accurate. No unexpected expenses or surprises. They thoroughly inspected the vehicle at the onset and knew exactly what was needed. I even called them after they started work and asked if they could repair the windshield wiper pump that I had forgotten about. My truck was ready in a few hours and they test drove the vehicle to make sure everything was operating correctly. These guys are top notch! I won't go anywhere else for minor repairs. After following up on my own accord for a 5th time with the manager suggested I have again been ghosted after my email, phone number and information was all repeated. Truly impressive that the General Managers of the establishments have no ability to get anyone in touch with their boss and even more audacious that their boss feels no obligation to reach out either. A business in decline is sad to see especially after almost 15 years of use. To Owner: if you believe your guys are doing the right thing when you're not looking, look again. Whenever I have an issue or concern with my vehicle they are very fast to diagnose the problem and pretty much take care of it on the spot. After going to this place for oil changes and inspections for 20 years, we are done with them. My husband took his work truck in for an oil change the other day. It's a 20 year old Toyota with 200,000 miles on it and without asking they put in $90 worth of synthetic oil. Kwik Kar worst bait and switch, dishonest place I have ever done business with. seriously told me the price was so much more because "Just that very day the price had gone up $10" and charged me for an extra quart of oil because my car took 5 qts(which is stated includes up to 5ats in the price) and that they were REQUIRED to use a full synthetic instead of the synthetic blend. I have been running synthetic blend in my car per the manufacturers recommendation. Did not ask me or tell me prior to doing it. I was told when I went to pay for the oil change. YOU DO NOT GET TO TELL ME WHAT TO PUT IN MY CAR AND CHARGE ME FOR YOUR OPINION...this was the Round Rock, Texas location on Red Bud..Horrible place. Very dishonest! I was expecting $54+ tax not $90! UPDATE---Just took my car to have the oil changed at reputable place after the last fiasco at Kwik Kar to find out that Kwik Kar stripped and cross threaded my oil plug and put some filler in it to hold the plug-in so I wouldn't know it was leaking after they broke it! Went in on Monday April 4. Have a 2000 Mazda B3000. Went in because the AC control was either off or worked on High . The low and medium setting was not working . Plus I needed my ball joints greased . After inspection was told there was small AC leak and flap in dash was broke so that's why only off and high settings . I agreed to have AC charged and put a stop leak in system . Enclosing invoice - . Is AC charge with no parts replaced and greasing ball joints run 2 labor hours . Bottom line is they never fixed I or addressed the original problem. After leaving , the low and mid settings on AC still don't work . Was never given a cost estimate or told that was a repair beyond their scope . So wasted time and now have to find another shop . read more

Went here for a quick annual inspection. Parked my car and was greeted by a mechanic. She said it was a 20-30 minute wait. I said ok and went and had a seat in the waiting lounge. About 10 minutes later an older gentleman came in and stood at the desk for a solid 8 minutes while the chime in the garage area went unanswered. Another 10 minutes pass and a middle aged woman in an SUV pulls up and waits about 5 minutes in her car. The gentleman and I see a mechanic come out of nowhere from the garage and approach her. They exchange a few words and he then pulls her car into the bay. When she enters the waiting lounge I asked her if she'd had an appointment, to which she said "no." At that point I'd decided 40 minutes was a enough time wasted and got up to leave. The older gentleman followed along. I expected there to be a wait, but not to be ignored by a business. However, today I'm here to get my car inspected and they are allowing very racial dividing music (heard the "N" word at least 10 times in the current song) and a lot of cursing. Full disclosure - I sent Kwik Kar an email describing what I have written below, and they chose not to respond. Therefore, I have decided to write a public review detailing my experience with them. I have used Kwik Kar for years and years. I told everyone I knew that Kwik Kar was the place to go to for oil changes and maintenance. I told everyone I knew that they were the "honest" shop in town. I told the story of how when I was on vacation in Alabama, they even paid a Honda dealer there to fix a mistake Kwik Kar made when replacing a motor mount. Fast forward to present. First off, they need to remove the word lube from the business name. I went in for an oil change and asked them to also lube the front drive shaft on my truck, and they said they don't do anything that involves grease anymore. During the same oil change visit, I was told the following: 1. He told me that my transmission fluid was way past due for a change and that it needed it right away. I told the guy that it wasn't due and he said that it needs to be changed every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. My manual says 100,000 miles, and that 30,000 miles is only recommended if the vehicle is used as a taxi, police car, regular towing, etc. Fact - I just had the transmission serviced at Nyle Maxwell a few months earlier when I had the solenoid pack replaced under warranty. When I got home I looked at the dipstick and the fluid was as pink and clean as could be. I have no clue why Kwik Kar thought the fluid needed to be changed. 2. He told me that my air filter was filthy and needed replacing. Fact - I had replaced it just three weeks earlier. When I got home from Kwik Kar, I inspected the air filter and it looked almost brand new. Again, I have no clue why he thought this service was needed. I'm guessing he didn't even look at the filter. I just got back from a 2000 mile trip that included a lot of off road driving. I checked the filter again when I got home and it still looks almost new. In my opinion - Kwik Kar is either incompetent, or out to get your money and make you pay for unnecessary services. If you go there, make sure you are fully educated on what really needs to be done. Read your owners manual. It has the maintenance schedule in it. Don't believe a word they tell you - check it yourself first. Hope this helps someone not get ripped off. read more

Rip off! I've been coming here for years with many different vehicles and have noticed that their business plan has changed. It used to be good ol boy service that you could trust but starting about a year ago that changed. It's all about up sale. If you hear the word "burnt" beware. Today was the third time they tried this on me. They told me that my transmission fluid was "burnt" but it is a sealed transmission. Very dishonest practice to lie to your customers. Used to be great, we used these guys for 3 vehicles and had been loyal customer for five years. We took a vehicle in for an electric issue, pretty benign, tail light issue. Called in Wednesday PM (sure no problem, bring it in) Dropped it off first thing Thursday. Check in call Thursday afternoon, will get to it later..... Called in Friday AM.... later today had taken a look at it... Called in Friday PM... we didn't get to it yet, come pick it up... Super sad as there is either a communication issue (we had to call in every time, they didn't once call us) or a prioritization issue, either way, not a good experience. If you need something cheap done maybe use these guys, but keep your expectations low. We had good service in the past and used them for every vehicular issue we had, but this time, they did even take a look despite saying they had, didn't once think to call us, and refused to provide me with the owners details so I could figure out what went wrong here. If anyone has recommendations in the Round Rock area, please post below! I'd advise you weight up other options in the Round Rock area if you wanted trusted and efficient service. read more

He said it would be about a 30 minute wait to get to my car. They actually completed the oil change and had me out of there before 30 minutes were up. He let me know I could stretch it out longer between oil changes and we discussed it a bit. He told me the next time I was due in it would be time to change the cabin air filter. He told me I should just buy it from Amazon and bring that in with me for them to change. They were all very polite and didn't make an attempt to upsell me on any services, although it is a newish car. As someone who is in charge of her own car maintenance for the first time, I felt like they were truly looking after me and not just trying to slam through as many cars as possible. read more

We have been taking our car there for almost 13 years. Over the last several years they slipped a little on service. They have a new manager there now and WHAT A HUGE POSITIVE CHANGE. Chad explained all the options available to fix the problem. I also noticed that when the work was finished that the manager started the car up and test drove the car to check everything was good. He even went over to get the air hose to inflate one of the tires that had 2lbs less pressure than the others. It was the details that they noticed and corrected. Well I have been going there for 8 years. Seems like its going down hill. Not much interaction, and one thing i wont complain."No up sell" I was shocked as this was a main focal point prior visits. "You could use a fuel cleaning etc" I was here for oil change and inspection. Was fast but the staff was very distant and blah. So I get the car and notice no vacuum interior? Wow this was a first and to 2 weeks later my light tells me I need washer fluid. Hmm Looking at invoice it says filled.... Lies.......Now I wonder if I even did get a oil change? Integrity in question. Also my invoice shows my sons name on it and he never has gone here/? I guess they just glanced at insurance card and wrote his name... OR maybe one to many brownies today? In a nutshell: way overpriced, unfriendly staff, and very sloppy work. I had seen this facility many times and decided to try it. When I pulled into the parking lot I positioned my car to back into a space and began to do so. A person dressed in very casual civilian clothes (i.e., not a service uniform) approached me from the area of the building. I paused briefly for safety but when it was apparent the person was moving toward the left of my car, which suggested she was merely crossing the parking lot, I continued backing. When I looked forward again moments later, the person stood in front of my car, held out her arms, palms up, and had a look on her face as if to ask what was wrong with me. I rolled down the window and discovered this was an employee who would drive my car into the service bay. I apologized for not realizing the circumstances. The employee did not respond to that but just asked what kind of oil I wanted. I told her to use the oil recommended by the car's manufacturer, and she agreed. NOTE: since the car was purchased new in 2015, three different dealers had regularly changed the oil, but on this occasion I had been pressed for time and could not leave my car at the dealer's garage for the day. The point is, the dealers had never charged more that $45-$50 for an oil change, and they always used the oil recommended for the vehicle. Kwik Kar charged twice as much, charging me $80 for the oil (which I later found out I could get at an auto parts store for $36--which is what I will do in the future!). Moreover, when I got the car home, I discovered that the technician either failed to reattach the cowling under the engine or did not reattach it correctly, because it hung down loose under the motor. And on top of that, they had apparently spilled quite a bit of oil on the motor when putting the oil in it because oil dripped from under the engine for two days and left quite a few unsightly stains on my driveway and in my garage. With all the time I spent getting everything back in order and ensuring there was no actual leak, like the drain plug being improperly re-inserted, I could have just as well done it myself. Lousy service, poor quality work, and twice the cost it should have been. I will never go to Kwik Kar again. Never! And I will warn everyone I speak to about this topic to stay away, as well. read more

Went to get my fuel gauge fixed. Was told it would take three hours. Ended up taking five days, and they didn't even fix the problem. When I complained they refused to give me a refund and came up with a bunch of excuses for why it took so long. Here's the reason for a 1 star. I have never been to this place where they have just done what I asked them to do without up-selling me. I cannot stand that. The last time I went to them they told me that my power steering fluid needed to be flushed- for something like $70- because someone had put transmission fluid in my power steering reservoir. Many car companies use transmission fluid instead of power steering fluid. Chrysler actually recommends it in my van. I will not go back to that place. I believe they are dishonest and take advantage of those who do not know better. If you use them, do not pay for their up-sells. Take it to your dealership or take it to the Castrol place on Double Creek drive. The Castrol place has always done me right and don't try to sell you something you don't need. ***This guy is a thief. He's taking advantage of the customers who don't know anything about cars. Today when I arrived , a employee came to my car and I said , good morning! He said what u need? I asked, how long to get an oil change today. Since I saw two cars in front of me. He said about 20 mns, I ask again, but is it twenty minutes until is my turn or is it 20 mns....... he interrupted me and say mad and shaking his had! Avoid like the plague; they stripped my drain plug and shoved whatever was available in its place. I had to take it back 3 times and the third time I took it to the sister location on Old Settlers hoping to find a proper fix. The mechanic there (Dan) insisted that the leak was now coming from the gaskets and I was looking at a repair of $1000 or more. I asked if the drips could be oil just spilled during the change be he said he was a certified mechanic with a dozen years of experience and his assessment was correct. The next day the first location called me to admit they had punctured the filter during the previous change, leaving oil all over the side of the engine creating the drip; he had contacted the other "mechanic" to let him know his $1000 assessment was garbage. Needless to say I will never set foot in a Kwik Kar Lube again. read more

Josh stopped by my window right after I parked, and kindly and candidly told me that it would take about an hour if I was willing to wait that long. I decided to run some errands first and when I came back Josh remembered me. He squeezed my inspection in before his lunch break and I was out quickly. Love Kwik Kar and Josh's work ethic! Well, they did it again! I asked my young daughter to go and get the oil changed in her vehicle, did not stipulate where to go. She goes to the Redbud location, told the youm Ng Man she needed oil change service only, (vehicle only has 19k miles). He asked what type of oil, my fault I did not tell her, other than telling her a regular oil change. She said I don't know, so the guy says"why don't we go with what I always use"...which of course was the synthetic! $90 dollars later, here we are! This place is a scam, dishonest folks! Do not take your car here. I went in for an oil change and couldn't drive my car back I had to call a tow truck to tow my car to the dealership to find out what they did. When I asked questions the manager was rude and I was told the mechanic would not be in until the following day. When I asked who worked on my car they wouldn't tell me. My car was working perfectly when I took it in. I still can't believe the way I was treated. Thank God I have good a insurance and they had my car towed right away.
