Get ready to be disappointed with any other sushi restaurant after having a meal at Kyala. The vibe at the sushi bar is so fun and the Chefs are incredible. It's a very cozy traditional family run spot that will exceed your expectations. The service is always spot on and they will accommodate special requests when possible. Your cup will never run dry here. A true diamond bar staple. Freshest and most flavorful fish everrrr. They also have items that you won't find anywhere else. Just do yourself a favor and try it.

I think I came in with too high of expectations given the reviews. I thought it was just ok. Definitely a good amount of food for the price, especially the bento combo, but I was not wowed. I still enjoyed my meal and the service was very friendly and attentive with my water getting refilled several times. The fried food was nice and lightly crispy. The salmon collar was tender and a large piece. The baked lobster roll was too sweet with too much mayo. The sashimi and California rolls left a lot to be desired. Maybe it's because these are just the items that came included in a combo, and maybe it's because I didn't order the right things...but I wasn't too impressed given all the reviews about how this is the best Japanese food that needs to be discovered. I may be too spoiled by the higher quality sushi in South OC but to me the quality is more of a 3.5...but I rounded up.

The food was very delicious, the fish was fresh, and my favorite was the salmon. I had a steamed fish egg dish, unsure of its name, but it was something I've never tried before, and it had a nice taste. The tempura was fresh, and their miso was very good. The staff is on top of things and very welcoming, and their decor matches the atmosphere of a sushi restaurant/bar.

Food is great. Ordered the nigiri sushi deluxe and it was fresh and oh so yummy. Our server was friendly and helpful. Went on a Wednesday evening around 7 and were seated right away. Ambiance is great. Family friendly

This sushi place is definitely a hole in the wall that needs to be discovered. This might be the best sushi I've had in a while. I grew up in the Orange County and Los Angeles area and as we all know, they have pretty good sushi spots there. I recently moved into the inland Empire and thought that I was going to have to drive so far to get decent sushi until I discovered this little gem! My friend and I came here on a Friday night - there was no wait and the server, seated us immediately. We were tended to within the first five minutes and ordered. Between the two of us, we ordered the miso duck, beef tongue, baby lobster roll, and a few of their nigiri's! All the food was cooked to perfection and each slice of sushi melted in your mouth. The fish felt like butter. I was so impressed. I will definitely be back. If you're ever in the diamond bar area, I highly recommend coming to this restaurant to satisfy your sushi cravings. You will not be disappointed in anyway. Lastly, a huge shoutout to Hiromi - she was absolutely wonderful and so sweet. She always came back to make sure that my friend and I were tended to, and that our experience with nothing less than perfect. I appreciate the service here and it was definitely the cherry on top.

Delicious and fresh melts-in-your-mouth sushi! Everything tasted perfect and well balanced. I got the chirashi don and it came with salad and a miso soup. The rice was seasoned perfectly to balance out the freshness of the fish. Service was fast and thoughtful .

This place is deserving of five times five stars! Hands down the best, freshest, well made, delicious sushi I have ever had. We were lucky to have a fantastic chef who served us an omakase to die for. The flavor of each dish is unmatched. There wasn't a single thing I wouldn't order again. The fish menu is extensive and well worth the price. I definitely recommend sitting at the bar and letting one of the amazing chefs serve you their best stuff. Make sure to ask about their house made tofu -- it is unreal! Lots of tables inside and plenty of room at the bar. I can't wait to go back here again and again, worth the drive from San Diego!!

Usually when I'm craving Japanese this is my spot! Kyala is located in the Walmart plaza. There is easy access to parking and during peak time like dinner, there will be a wait. The restaurant is cozy with a few small tables and a sushi bar. I tend to stick to the two-item dinner combo. My picks are chicken teriyaki and tempura. The tempura comes with two shrimp and veggie tempura. They don't over batter their tempura which I like. I have order the sautéed white fish with miso and that was good also. The combination comes with miso soup, side salad, potatoes with mayo, and rice. Everything comes out fresh. They offer everything you want from sushi, salad, soba, donburi, rolls, Japanese curry and more. The service is good and everyone is super nice. Overall, a great Japanese place to try if you're in the area.

Brought my mom here for a light dinner. She ordered the rainbow roll and miso soup that she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the happy hour sashimi sampler of black snapper, halibut and red snapper. Also had a piece of blue fin, salmon belly and Yellowtail that were good. For dessert I ate the blue crab hand roll which was tasty Got my dad a baked scallop roll to go which he finished with a smile. The servers are very friendly and attentive. Will come again next time I'm in the area for their lunch boxes which looked reasonably priced.

Overall we had a pleasant experience at Kyala! The duck miso appetizer was delicious and a must order. Under the slices of duck are slices of tofu and oyster mushrooms! The duck appetizer was a lot smaller than we thought but I think it's still worth a try. We ordered a variety of sashimi, from salmon, tuna to toro. I would say the fish quality was cold and fresh! The sashimi tasted above average but it wasn't something that knocked my socks off. The fish didn't have a fishy tasted or scent to it either which is a good sign! Our sashimi took a bit of time to come out which surprised me because it was slices of fish, nothing we were waiting on was cooked other than the duck appetizer which came early. I would definitely recommend calling in for reservations as they filled up really quickly at around 6:30 pm. The restaurant is small inside but it has a warm/homey feel to it. The servers were kind and attentive. I wouldn't say this restaurant is a must try but if you're in the area and looking for some decent sushi, I would recommend eating here!

The lone exceptions on my lifelong crusade against seafood? Tuna salad or fresh shrimp served ice cold in a tangy shrimp cocktail. Then along comes my gorgeous and very health conscious daughter, Brianna. Nana keeps Hikari on speed dial, routinely orders from our friendly neighborhood sushi purveyor twice per week. Ten days ago she challenged me, her rib eye and pork chop loving Daddy, to sample one of her spicy tuna rolls. As with any good Daddy, I am rendered utterly helpless -like Superman foiled by Krypronite- by any request my talented, beautiful daughter makes. I nervously grabbed a roll, torpedoed it into the inky, umami-redolent black sauce, and found myself shocked, even stupefied, at how distinctly "un-fishy" this delicacy was! My mouth revered the crunchy exterior of its fried tempura coated rice base, my taste buds frolicked at the myriad textures commingling with cooling, creamy avocado and even the snappy, slivered jalapeño chip...which Hikari has thoughtfully stripped of its fiery seeds. Hikari is also famous for rapid-fire service- I submitted my order for spicy tuna rolls and cup of miso soup (richly satisfying!) seven minutes before my arrival and was pleasantly pleased to see find my takeout order ready upon my arrival. Hikari Sushi belongs on the Diamond Bar Mt. Rushmore of asian restaurants- alongside Silver Spoons Thai BBQ, Basil & Company and Encore Teppanyaki.

Had good reviews so we decided to try it out. It serves sushi and Japanese food. I typically rate a Japanese restaurant on 2 basic entrees, miso soup and tempura. If they get these basic Japanese dishes right, typically everything else is pretty good. The pros: Clean with big tables that give a family of 4 enough elbow room. Tempura and chicken katsu were fried just right. They got the tempura right. The chicken katsu my wife had was juicy and not dried out. The cons: Miso soup was decent. Like a 7 out of 10. It lack flavor like not enough miso. It wasn't salty which is good, but I also did not taste the dashi (bonito flake) base that provides depth to the soup base. Needed more tofu as well. The sushi was nothing special. The size of the raw fish was nothing special. It wasn't anything that stood out. The California Roll was also basic. Nothing special, not even sesame seeds. The rice seemed skimpy as well. Price wise, to me it seemed over price for the sushi for what you received. Nothing worth mentioning or exciting about this place. I also tried the Matcha Beer. If you like hoppy beers and IPAs, you might like it. I on the other hand prefer Sapporo or Asahi. Conclusion: Unfortunately, I had high hopes for this place and it just didn't deliver in my opinion.

Ended up at Bengee Sushi and... wow. Completely exceeded expectations. I honestly didn't know Chino had such solid Japanese food We both ordered their Lunch Specials -- around $25 each, which is such a great deal. Since I'm not a big tempura person, we skipped the bento boxes and went straight for the good stuff. We got one Chirashi Bowl, and the moment it came out we were shocked. So much sashimi! Thick cuts, super fresh, and none of that fishy leftover-trim vibe. The sushi rice underneath was really good too -- not overly sweet or sour, just balanced. The other dish we ordered was the Sashimi Lunch, and again, super generous portion with way more variety than I expected. No shortcuts, no skimping. That feeling of "randomly picking a place and accidentally finding a great spot" is honestly unmatched They also offer a $79 omakase, plus a more premium $135 one (reservation required). Service was attentive throughout our visit, and we took advantage of their summer special, which offered 50% off a second Premium Gyukatsu Set with the purchase of one. **Premium Gyukatsu Set: 4/5** Made with American-style Wagyu prime short rib, the gyukatsu was incredibly juicy and tender, with beautiful marbling throughout. A coating of fine panko breadcrumbs formed a golden-brown, crispy crust, creating a satisfying crunch with each bite. The set came with a personal tabletop grill, allowing you to sear each piece to your preferred doneness for an interactive dining experience. Accompanying the gyukatsu were rice, miso soup, and several small sides, with the shredded cabbage standing out for its refreshing contrast to the richness of the fried cutlet. The corn salad, however, felt somewhat like an afterthought and wasn't particularly well executed. An assortment of seasonings and sauces was also included to pair with the meat. The specialty salts complemented the beef especially well, while the gyukatsu sauce had a light, savory flavor with a subtle sweetness that enhanced its natural character. The only miss was the wasabi sauce, which was dominated by an overwhelming horseradish taste. **Takoyaki: 4/5** The takoyaki had a delicately crisp exterior that gave way to a molten, creamy center. Each piece contained a sizable portion of octopus, while the bonito flakes on top added a smoky umami depth that paired nicely with the generous drizzle of mayo and takoyaki sauce. Kobe Gyukatsu delivered an enjoyable meal, with the quality of the dishes and tableside grilling among the main highlights. There's certainly enough here to warrant a return visit.
