The place is always packed with long waits. The dishes they offer are what you would expect at standard sushi restaurants. Good place for a regular meal but wouldn't recommend for special occasions.

Came here to eat dinner since my party is craving sushi for dinner. This place is so cute with all the Japanese theme. Interior is great. But the service needs to be more attentive to their customers. But the food and everything else is delish and awesome. Now check out my reviews with yummy food.

Love this place. I had the Chirashi Deluxe. Tuna, yellowtail, salmon, albacore, shrimp, salmon roe, scallop, sea urchin (uni), river eel, egg, and real crab. I am no carbs right now so instead of rice I got a second salad. 2 salads! Nice. I also had miso soup and a nigori sake but I can't remember the saki brand. They also have an unmarked bottle of spices on the table, that was really good. I put that stuff on everything. Even in my soup. It was amazing. Served super quick.

The wife and I decided to come out on a week night to have a nice dinner. Ojiya is a cozy neighborhood Japanese restaurant and follows the old standard of closing between lunch and dinner. As always unless you come just as the open up for dinner is expect to wait to be seated. It took about 20 minutes to be seated for dinner today. Once seated they were pretty fast with asking us what we wanted to eat. Miso soup is a comforting start - umami flavors and tofu in a warm broth. This was followed with a green salad with the house dressing. The lettuce and vegetables were fresh but the dressing is the start (you can buy bottles to use at home. We started with the ika (squid) as an appetizer. It's a hot August evening so unagi (eel) is always a good choice. The wife got the seabass (our favorite). All meals come with miso soup, salad, and white steamed rice. All were extremely tasty! The squid was fresh and had a nice snap (not rubbery). The seabass was buttery (perfect). The grilled unagi and sauce over steamed rice is just perfection on a summer evening. Though the prices are higher than before the pandemic , Ojiya is back to their pre pandemic food quality and service standards. All in all a five star experience.

Came here on date night at my girlfriend's recommendation. Hidden in a small little plaza dwarfed in size by a bowling alley, the place bravely displays SUSHI - Best in Town. If you judge by appearances, you may question this, but after dining here you won't. The place is on the small size, providing you the option of dining at a sushi bar or at a table. There were three talented sushi chefs, along with a full compliment of restaurant staff. We both ordered combination boxes, my girlfriend opting for Sashimi and Tempura, while I selected California Roll, Spicy Tuna and Teriyaki Chicken. Both orders came with rice and Miso Soup. Everything was delicious and I never wanted to stop eating. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive. Upon leaving the entire staff will thank you for dining with them. I look forward to coming back here many more times and being a bit more adventurous with my selections. The menu is quite diverse with choices for all levels of sushi eaters.

Favorite sushi spot in Chino! Cozy atmosphere with kind staff. The wait is always long during prime dining time, so I recommend either coming early or closer to closing. My go to is the sushi boat. Generous portion sizes and can easily feed 2-3! I made the mistake once of swapping the chicken teriyaki with white meat. The chicken ended up being very tough and dry. Recommend sticking with the chicken leg teriyaki instead.

It's Great to have Authentic Japanese near by where you can feel good to bring new friends. Please to see them enjoy their food.

This Japanese restaurant is surprisingly very good. They are located in a strip mall with free parking. I think you need to come early to avoid waiting in a line. I ordered the chirashi deluxe bowl. It was so fresh, so good. The server lady was very patient with our huge group. We had about ten people or so, celebrating a birthday. I think she gave the birthday person a free dessert! Bathroom available. Credit card accepted.

We were nearby Torrance and wanted Japanese food for dinner on a Friday and thank goodness there was no wait. There were a good amount of people inside and it's started to fill up a little after we finished eating. I am not surprised as this place is delicious! We were greeted right away when we entered and sat at the bar. We really enjoyed our dinner! My husband ordered the udon carbonara and chicken karaage and I had the eel bowl and plain hot soba. Every dish was delicious and tasty! Service was wonderful as well. Servers were friendly and attentive. I've been missing Japan so this was a nice treat for us as this place was pretty authentic. Highly recommend if you're craving Japanese food!!

Ojiya's Tonkatsu Curry ($16.95) is tasty. The portions are large; its pork cutlet is juicy and flaky; and the curry is thick, savory, and hot. Satisfying Japanese curry. I arrived at Ojiya on a weekday (1:20PM). Customers write name on a list and wait to be called for a table. I waited 5 minutes and 48 seconds to be seated. The waitress is cordial, but the elderly lady appeared distracted. She never offered spoons for the miso soup or straws for the drinks. I ordered the Tonkatsu Curry ($16.95) and Salmon Roll ($6.95). The meal included miso soup and a small salad. The miso soup arrived 2 minutes and 30 seconds in. I was offered no spoon, and the waitress immediately vanished before I could speak. Regardless, when the soup cooled, I sipped from the bowl. Tasty. The miso soup tastes fresh and hot. Four minutes in... the Salmon Roll arrived. The Salmon Roll are the size of ice cubes wrapped in chewy seaweed. I barely tasted the tiny bits of fresh salmon. I immediately regret ordering it. In addition, the salad resembled every other generic Japanese restaurant salad. Its yellow leaves were off-putting. The Tonkatsu Curry arrived in 20 minutes. As mentioned prior, the Tonkatsu Curry is tasty. Fluffy rice, juicy tonkatsu, and thick curry created a delicious dish. The Tonkatsu Curry is large and satisfying. The ambiance is adequate. It's loud from the chatting customers, so I couldn't hear the quiet music. The waiting area is stuffy while the main dining area is cold. The decor is creative with tiny roofs hanging above tables. Overall, ambiance and service were adequate. The Salmon Roll is tiny and chewy. But Ojiya serves delicious curry. 3.5/5

The food was AMAZING best chicken katsu ive ever had and we also got the beef udon and the two sushis, everything was amazing very busy very fast but thats because the food was great quality!! inside decorations are also great as well and create a nice atmosphere

Ojiya did not disappoint and everything was so good. The fish was so fresh and it literally melts in your mouth. All the food options we got were so tasty and flavorful. The servers were also really sweet and helpful. They got our food out pretty quick too. The restaurant is pretty small so there may be a wait. I recommend going at an off time to get seated quickly. I will definitely be coming back and can't wait to try their other food options on the menu!!

    Do they take reservations?

Nope 😔 walk in basis and always busy, be prepared to wait, but it's worth the wait!

Can. Any1 get though the Phone number I tried to call them and no one is Picking Up the phone 34 time and keep getting Busy or some kind of Answer Machine is this the Correct Phone number?

Yes ,we know the feeling. During the busy times to place a take out order is a act of god. They are there but no one picks up the phone.

Is this placed closed!? Called them one too many times and it just rings?

It's open, I just ordered from there yesterday. They are just really busy. They have two numbers listed, you should try both 909-606-8638 or 909-606-8632.

    Do they have gift cards?

They do! Just not the small plastic ones were used to.

    Open now for dine-in?

    Take out only

    Do they take reservation?

No it’s a walk in first come first served. I’d get there before they open. They did allow u to put your name on sign in list before it opened. Not sure they still do this.

Is this place all you can eat?

    No it is not.

Any one know if they still do omakase?

Yes, they do. It's the only way I order when I go

Chino's hidden gem! Everyone go try Bengee Sushi!…read more We were in Chino over the weekend for some board games and randomly searched for a lunch spot nearby. Ended up at Bengee Sushi and... wow. Completely exceeded expectations. I honestly didn't know Chino had such solid Japanese food We both ordered their Lunch Specials -- around $25 each, which is such a great deal. Since I'm not a big tempura person, we skipped the bento boxes and went straight for the good stuff. We got one Chirashi Bowl, and the moment it came out we were shocked. So much sashimi! Thick cuts, super fresh, and none of that fishy leftover-trim vibe. The sushi rice underneath was really good too -- not overly sweet or sour, just balanced. The other dish we ordered was the Sashimi Lunch, and again, super generous portion with way more variety than I expected. No shortcuts, no skimping. It also comes with miso soup and salad, both clean and tasty. We added hot tea, which hit the spot on a colder day. That feeling of "randomly picking a place and accidentally finding a great spot" is honestly unmatched They also offer a $79 omakase, plus a more premium $135 one (reservation required). After seeing how generous they are with their lunch portions, I'm definitely coming back for that next time. In short: amazing value. If you love sashimi and find yourself in Chino, this place is absolutely worth the visit.

They have Lunch (open-3pm), Dinner (3pm-close), Fri-Sun & holidays, Kids, and Premium AYCE options. What I appreciate about their sushi menu is that each order comes with one piece to avoid wasting food. Our favorite items to order are everything from the premium menu, Smoked Salmon, Ikura, Cajun Yellowtail, Cajun Salmon, Salmon Skin Salad, Rolly Polly, and Salmon Skin Skewer. If I had to pick just one from this list, it would be the Cajun Salmon. I cannot have enough of it. It's so fresh, silky, and has that perfect hint of smokiness. Their fish to rice ratio is less rice, more fish. The staff are all attentive and friendly. If it's your first time, they'll explain the menu and how to order. You also have a 90 min time limit.
