This is an amazing sushi restaurant. Larger than most any sushi restaurant I've ever been in, but the staff is very quick and attentive. They have all you can eat and they have a la carte. Sometimes all-you-can-eat means lower-grade, but that is not the case here. Every roll that came out look beautiful tasted fresh and was excellent. There are a lot of happy hour values as well. This is our lil go-to spot for Sushi when in DB! The food is always good as is the service. I love getting the Avocado bomb, Forever Love Roll, and the Heart Attack. Nice bites without being too heavy. The venue is nice . It's not your trendy, fussy, loud sushi spot...but I wouldn't say hole-in-the-wall either because it's a little more dressed up than that. Each piece came topped with a slice of jalapeño, adding just the right amount of spice and crunch to balance the roll. We definitely saved the best for last: the Lemon Salmon Roll. Some might consider it messy, but I consider it fun and cozy. The soup tasted like instant, but the bento itself didn't disappoint. For a sushi restaurant on the cheaper side of the price spectrum, the sushi and sashimi tasted fresh with a decent amount of flavor. The complementary egg roll didn't taste like it was made in-house but still a welcome inclusion by providing some variety to the plate. But it seemed like a big party ended up going so they were super busy, it was very loud so if you're looking for something calming and quiet I don't recommend going here. The food was good, gyozas do not come with special sauce they just told us to use soy sauce which I've never experienced most likely because they were busy. Salmon roll was ok it was missing thin sliced lemon like in their picture and portions were very small. I asked for thin sliced lemon aside but it was very thick, so I tried to ask again and the waiter told me no because they were really busy. Service was really bad for us unfortunately. Fusion 2 Any 1 Sushi & Roll is a sushi restaurant located on the second floor above Rainbow Donuts in Towne Centre Village in Diamond Bar. They have a huge variety of sushi rolls including baked rolls, fresh rolls (raw fish on top), tempura rolls, and specialty rolls. They also have appetizers, sashimi, bento box items, ramen, udon, fried rice, carpaccio, tempura, and desserts. I was greeted upon entry and was told to wait a few minutes. There were three people in front of me that originally ordered take out and then within a few minutes they decided to dine in. I was looking at the menu on the macaron ice cream container and also looked at the restaurant menu book. I was helped by the server at the register. I ordered the Sunkiss Roll asked if the Diamond Bar Roll was available. I was told that the Diamond Bar Roll was not available anymore. I asked if there was something similar, there was a little hesitation so I said something with salmon on top and I was told there's a lot. I saw the HD Roll so I decided to order it as it had salmon on top. I was also told that the new menu is much better and they don't want to go back to the old menu. They should remove the menu on top of their ice cream container. Service was alright. I was greeted upon entry. I waited 15 minutes for the food. A waitress handed me my order and asked if I paid already. I told her yes and she seemed skeptical but she still handed it to me and thanked me. There should have been communication with the waitress that I already paid for the item as I have not had this issue anywhere else before. They played Kpop music at the restaurant. It was very spacious inside the restaurant. There's lots of seating available including booths and regular table seating. The bar area had mostly to-go containers and other to-go preparation items. The temperature was cool inside the restaurant but wasn't very well-ventilated as I can smell fried food everywhere. When I walked out, I can feel myself smelling like fried tempura. The Sunkiss Roll was pretty good. The rolls were nicely wrapped. The spicy tuna was spicy and fresh. The salmon was fresh with melt in the mouth texture. The rice portion of the roll was cool, chewy, soft, and sticky. The gobo was crunchy and savory but I could do without it being in the roll. The HD Roll was decent but I preferred the Sunkiss Roll. The red onions were a bit much on the HD Roll and overpowered the salmon and the imitation crab was a bit dry. I enjoyed the Sunkiss Roll much more than the HD Roll. First time here and a few comments about our experience. First and foremost the food and service here is good. The sushi rolls are not too big or too small, the rolls are not overpowered with rice. The overall ambiance is bit odd. We had to climb flight of stairs to get to the entrance, then come to find out their a/c is a swamp cooler. Fortunately we were sat in front of it, so we didn't feel too much of the heat. We did feel a bit overwhelmed with all the "extra" stuff laying around. I find it hard to give sushi locations a one star rating because I believe there are redeeming qualities in all establishments that may help bring a new patron an experience they may enjoy. I'm so sorry to have to give Fusion 2 Any 1 Sushi & Roll this rating. The food experience had was just unbelievably bad, but our server was incredibly pleasant and courteous. Unfortunately I don't rate based on service. When going to a sushi restaurant, I love sitting down at the bar and getting to know their chefs. Unfortunately we could not do that here as we were met with resistance when trying to take a seat at the bar. Giving them the benefit of the doubt we had decided to take a booth. Here is the the food we're ordered: Salmon Nigiri Tempura Udon Scallop Nigiri Spider Roll Albacore Carpaccio The salmon nigiri was a very small portion and we had ordered 2 servings. The serving of lemon slices with it was interesting, until we had taken a bite and understood that the citrus from the lemon was to mask the fishy flavor that had permeated the fish. The quality of the salmon was very low grade and had I known this would have been the most tolerable part of our experience I would have requested the check right then and there. The tempura udon came out piping hot which was lovely. Hard to mess up the broth as it was a typical broth. But the tempura was a bit cold and soft in texture with very minimal crisp. No worries as we just dipped them into the broth to enjoy. This is where things start to go further south. I had ordered scallop nigiri expecting fresh scallop. And what I got were small previously cooked then frozen baby scallops wrapped in nori and peppered with furikake. Which seemed like an attempt to force some umami with items that are lacking in quality. The rest of the meal we couldn't muster to finish. The spider roll was a loose mess that also had very pungent soft shell crab that was inedible. The albacore carpaccio came out looking as if it hadn't completely been thawed. And upon first bit was a firm elastic mouth feel that immediately needed to find its way into a napkin for disposal. I wish I had taken more photos of the travesties that had graced our table. But we promptly asked for the check as to make our way out of the establishment. Unfortunately with a lost appetite and disappointment in our wake. We will not be returning any time soon. I'm very aware that the sushi here is not in the slightest "authentic" or whatever, but they have a good selection of rolls at very fair prices. Having sushi for dinner is not going to cost you an arm and a leg and you get exactly what you're expecting. The last time my family and I had dinner here, we ordered up a storm: -sashimi salad ($18.95): 10 different kinds of sashimi over a bed of lettuce/spring mix with ginger dressing -rainbow roll ($12.95): crab avocado topped with fresh fish -baked salmon roll ($13.95): crab, avocado, cream cheese + baked salmon -Philly crunch roll ($11.95): salmon, avocado, cream cheese - deep fried The sashimi salad is a really good deal. You get plenty of fish in the salad and it pairs nicely with the ginger dressing salad. Our family really likes the baked salmon roll - we order that each time we come. The mayo/salmon medley really sparks joy in our hearts. For good measure, we always throw in a spicy tuna/salmon topped with spicy tuna as a way to not feel overwhelmed by so many rolls. We came here on Mother's Day weekend, so our order was a little slow coming out, but hey, these are tough times. The owner was also super nice and threw in a few extra masks to our order. Came in with hubby, for dinner. Seated quickly. Handed 3 different menus (sushi, Chinese & specials). Music was oppressively loud. Playing late 70s, early 80s soft rock. A live version of Phil Collins "One More Night" played no less than 5x while we were there. Only reason for 2 stars: fish is fresh. Rolls were uninspired (none with eel sauce, spicy mayo, or other sauces.) Rolls were rice heavy and wrapped loosely, and fell apart when being lifted off the plate. Also cut in inconsistent sizes. Ordered the "My Heart Roll": menu said wrapped soybean paper, cucumber, crab meat avocado, fresh tuna. They brought us crab wrapped with rice with tuna around the outside, and each piece had a huge squirt of sriracha. (I am careful about what I order, because I hate spicy food.) Speaking of which, my husband ordered the Salmon Lemon Roll, which says that it comes with "chilly oil"... He didn't realize that it was going to be served in a huge puddle of raw chili oil, which was absorbed by all the rice on the bottom of his roll. Won't be back. read more
