Kyma has been on my go to list since I was i trigued with their decor and also, their food! It was too cold to dine outside so we are inside. The interior was nicely done and the lighting was perfect! Surprised there was a floral bench near the bathroom but it still works out. Had appetizers and entrees. Love the orzo pasta and the branzino. We were quite thirsty throughout the meal. Could be the food was salty but it didnt seem too salty to me. The housemade flat bread were really good. They refilled our basket when we wanted more. Celebrated my friend and I's birthday here and they had the big candles. Service was great and always checked in on us to make sure we were taken care of. Definately recommend coming here for celebrations or just having good Greek food! Will be back soon. read more

Yummmmmm!!! Omg, y'all!! A true culinary experience. The hubs and I had a rez for 9:00, but we got there early(8:00pm) and the hostess was sweet, and extremely accommodating. We had a choice of indoor and outdoor seating, we chose outdoor, and it was a lovely atmosphere. Nice vibe. Now onto the food, we had the dolmades, and the spanakopita for apps and they were delicious. The Bronzino I had was grilled to perfection and flaky. Our side dishes of lemon potatoes and Brussels sprouts were extremely tasty. For dessert we had the cheesecake, which was rich, moist and creamy. Our server Adam, was attentive, and pleasant, and despite how busy it was checked on us often. The manager also came by to ask how we were. All in all a wonderful experience! About last night... I completely fell in love with the ambience, vibe, decor, food & drinks at Kyma Pictures don't do the place justice. If I had to create my ideal date spot, family dinner, grab a bite after work, and even girls lunch, this place wraps it all up into one. Forreal, this place is awesome. We were greeted by the hostess who brought us to a corner booth and from there we were in the hands of Jimmy, who helped us order our whole meal, with some help of the sommelier (William). We started out with a Greek wine, assyrtiko which was light, fruity and delicious. For apps we had the tomato salad which was phenomenal with big tomatoes, onion, cucumbers, olives and feta. Noms. Then we had the tuna tartare which was almost as delicious as it was simply beautiful. On the table there was also warm delicious pita and hummus. For the entree my boyfriend and I split the whole pink swordfish which. was. perfect. It was beautifully cooked, tender, buttery and with the capers and lemon I felt like I was actually in Greece. Really a dream dish. To wrap it all up we had the custard based dessert (can't remember the name) topped with pistachios and it was so different & satisfying, and a scoop of pistachio gelato which was to die for. Beware of the Clase Azul margarita!!! Although the place was delish and gorgeous with a great vibe, we got HOSED on drinks. When I got there, I looked at the drink menu and ordered a Paloma, realizing halfway through my order that's not what I was in the mood for..so with menu CLOSED I said I'll just have the classic margarita. The drink came out and was gorgeous. It was served in a recycled Clase Azul bottle and was delicious. The waitress told us all about it (or so we thought). I even said "this is your classic margarita?!" Then my girlfriend ordered one too. So did the whole table of girls next to us, without looking at the menu and just saying "I'll have what she's having." So. I leave to catch my bus home. And the check comes, which is oddly exorbitant. My friends asked to see the menu and only THEN did they notice the "sneaking in" of this drink. As you can see in the pic, it's listed with all of the rest of the drinks. Shouldn't something of that price point be in a box like some of the drinks on top?! Or shouldn't the waitress have told me when I ordered it that it's actually triple the price of the other drinks?! No different than when you order a chocolate soufflé the waiter would tell you it takes 45 minutes to make. I am DUMBFOUNDED how this could even happen. Not only should the menu be revised, but the wait staff should be clearer. It's not even about the price, it's the principle...which is absurd. We came here for Restaurant Week. While I realize that menus for restaurant week can be a hit or miss, the other important component like simple service was unacceptable. They certainly had a lot of servers in the dining room..most than diners. Most were just socializing among themselves. Now, the food..the tomato salad and octopus were pretty good. However, salmon and the burger were both way over cooked. The burger was so dry that it was in pieces as opposed to a whole patty. The salmon was dry like it was precooked and reheat. If the objective for participating in RW is to introduce and get repeat clients, they missed badly. I would advise ownership and management to check out legit Greek restaurants like Avra or Milos for their service and food quality. read more

I have been for both dinner & lunch and the food here is simply terrific! The decor is very modern/chic and apparently there is a night club downstairs after hours. The staff is friendly but honestly not very attentive. It took us a while to get the attention of our waiter (who was extremely apologetic) throughout our meal. For lunch, they have a prix fixe menu for $35. Comes with an appetizer, main course & dessert/coffee. The portions are great too honestly - such a great deal. Had a delicious dinner with friends here. I would recommend this spot for groups around 6 ppl. They also have an excellent outdoor heating situation. You are covered in a roofed in area but it's still open with many heaters so you can take off your jacket. The spanakopita is a must, so tasty. As well as the kyma chips of course. Came here for a New Year's eve early dinner. The decor inside the restaurant is super cute and festive. The staff members all dressed up for the New Year but most of them weren't wearing masks, which made me a little uneasy... I believe they are all fully vaccinated and tested but would appreciate a little more precaution given the Omicron surge in the City. Most of the dishes we ordered were amazing: - The tomato salad was so good. We love horiatiki and order it all the time but this one is by far the best. Ingredients were fresh and super flavorful. - The grilled octopus was also fantastic. Soft and tender with a nice char. The fava underneath goes super well with the complimentary pita bread. - Shrimp orzotto had fresh and plump shrimps and perfectly cooked orzo in tomato sauce. If I'm being a little picky here, the garlic was a bit undercooked and therefore tasted raw. - The scallops, however, was a major pitfall of the night. They were SO SALTY. As someone with a salty palate, I failed to continue after two bites. The texture of the scallops was great but the saltiness is beyond the limits of any normal human being. Nevertheless, we finished the sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and nuts that came with it - they were delicious. - We notified our server of the scallops and he was super nice to offer us two free desserts, the chocolate lava cake and baklava. Both were good (caution: on the sweeter side), especially the pistachio ice cream. The baklava appeared a bit too sweet after a whole meal so I took it home and left it in the fridge overnight. Kyma is a Greek restaurant. No earned adjectives. The space is very nice and reminiscent of Greece with clean lines and white accents. The bar is a work of art to look at. Pita was served with a fava bean puree which I would forgo to just eat the pita plain - it was good pita. We got a trio of dips - the eggplant, garlic, and smoked fish, all of which were just alright. I liked the garlic one the best. Grilled calamari as a bit on the chewy side but was seasoned well and I liked the accompanying tomato sauce. Zucchini fritters were definitely a winner and the tzatziki was very on-point - clean and fresh with dill. I split the pink snapper with my girlfriend which was very good. Grilled plain with capers, olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper. It tasted like grilled snapper, albeit good. Another one of our dining mates ordered lamb chops which came with three tiny chops and a lot of fries. Service was attentive. As far as it goes, just alright. read more

What a great experience! My friends and I went to Kyma for my birthday brunch this past weekend and it's safe to say it most definitely exceeded my expectations. To start off, the host was incredibly accommodating to our seating preferences. That immediately set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. Our waiter was so great and made the experience. He gave us his recommendations and also was very attentive to our table and needs. The food and BANANA espresso martinis were so great. To end it off we had a dessert platter with baklava, pistachio ice cream, a Greek yogurt dessert and a slice of cheesecake along with a birthday song. This whole experience was one for the books. Everything is extremely fresh. The chicken is perfectly seasoned to be evenly savory and tart. The chicken was moist and chard to the perfect degree. The pita bread tasted as though it was straight out of the oven. The mimosas were heavier on the champagne but the waitress did not hesitate to bring a side of orange juice to even things out for my taste. There had been a lot of buzz around the opening of the Manhattan branch of the Long Island Greek stable, Kyma. Even just from my initial pass by, I was smitten with the cool and sexy white décor, which was reminiscent of a Mediterranean cliff side restaurant, as well as the classy vibe provided by the hip clientele. Because of this intrigue, I was excited when my friend selected it from my provided list of dinner options. I walked into the restaurant on the chosen evening and was taken with how the abundant candlelight cast shadows across the white walls and drapes. I collected my friend from the bar, and we approached the hostess stand. The model like woman offered us a spacious seat by the front door or a slightly tighter spot in the rear, main dining room. It was very sweet of her to give us the option, but we decided to head to the back to avoid any potential draft. My friend and I ordered cocktails from the vast menu, with my first round being a Mezcal Jalapeno type. It was as smoky and spicy as I typically enjoy, but needed some acid. The accompanying basket of pita and toasted white bread was full of stale slices that were extremely disappointing, especially from a Mediterranean restaurant where bread often tends to be a highlight. We decided to share several small plates, such as the Sesame Feta, which consisted of a rather dry, pan-seared cheese filet encrusted in crunchy seeds. It was topped with candied figs, cherry tomatoes, and a raspberry-honey glaze for hints of sweetness, tang, and necessary moisture. We also began with the grilled Octopus, which was extremely tender and served with a marinated salad of roasted peppers, onions, and capers. I then ordered a Paloma (grapefruit and tequila cocktail) to accompany our next plate - a shared portion of the Pink Snapper. The beverage was much better than my first, and the imported fish was served whole, but sliced open for easier consumption. The fish was thin, firm, and perfectly seasoned. Since the snapper was served on its own, we added a side of Broccoli Rabe, which was topped with slices of roasted garlic for additional flavor. Despite being rather full, the neighboring table was indulging in some alluring desserts, so we decided to follow suit. We opted for the sweet Baklava, which was a terrific, but standard, rendition. However, it was served with a heavenly scoop of pistachio ice cream, its smooth texture balancing the crunchy pastry. Our Kyma meal was fueled by excellent service, but the food was only slightly above average and rather disappointing given the hype. I would give it 3- to 3.5-stars. read more

Shared the feta mash, which was yummy. Had the baklava for dessert which again was good. The blueberry mojito cocktail was a bit tart, I was expecting it to be sweeter so after that I just stuck to wine. The decor of the restaurant was very nice.
