The food was phenomenal--truly the highlight of our evening. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the food. We had a late dinner reservation at 8:45 on a Saturday night after a long day in the city, and from the moment we sat down, we felt rushed by our server. Rather than being able to relax and enjoy our meal, we felt as though they couldn't wait for us to finish and leave. Lovely restaurant in tribeca for a gathering with friends! We came by for brunch one day and were seated immediately. Honestly the menu was extensive and it was hard to decide what we wanted because everything sounded so good but we decided to do a mix of Greek and traditional brunch. Ordered the fried zucchini tower, shakshuka, French toast and waffles, Paros omelette, and yogurt. Honestly the portions were huge and we definitely ordered too much for 4 people. But we loved every bite of everything. Our favorite stand outs had to be the waffles, just perfectly done-- simple but elevated, and the omelette was also really good which I never say about omelettes because they're so boring how can you mess up an omelette? But the flavors were balanced and fresh and paired nicely together felt like Greece! We also loved the shakshuka, definitely not traditional but the gigantes were a nice addition and made it all the more heartier-- definitely a sharing meal. Paros is a beautiful Greek restaurant with a gorgeous ambience that feels warm and inviting and it was surprisingly easy to get a reservation. We started with a medium-bodied Greek red wine that was delicious and set the tone for the evening. The food was excellent. We had fried zucchini, halloumi and shrimp skewers. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. For my main course I had the sea bass which was tender, light and prepared with real finesse. We skipped dessert because nothing on the menu looked tempting. The service was polite but felt a bit flustered, probably because the restaurant was very busy. Overall we had a great time and I highly recommend Paros for the ambience, the wine and the quality of the dishes. I went here on a weeknight and the bar/restaurant was buzzing with people...great vibe. The hostess and service were friendly, accommodating and well-trained. Ordered several sharing items including: hummus, tzatziki, smokey eggplant--with pita, grilled octopus, watermelon salad, halloumi. Dips were delicious and well-seasoned. The pita was light, fluffy and a nice vehicle to scoop up not only dips but sauces from other dishes. The halloumi was especially moreish with its citrus glaze...so good. The watermelon salad was good and addition of pomegranate seeds added crunch and extra tartness. The croutons seemingly were made of old, fried, stale pita...not needed. The only disappointment was the octopus...it tasted 'unfresh'...the flavor was ok but the texture and overall execution was flawed. Perhaps it was precooked and grilled? Reheated prior to service? Yum! Finally had the chance to check out Tribeca's newest Greek spot. The inside is stunning, very open airy with the feeling of a Greek island without being too kitschy. The bar area is stunning and their small plates and cocktails were great so it would even be a nice place to go for cocktails and drinks. We went earlier in the evening on a Saturday night with a group of 6 and we were seated at a circle table which was awesome. The service was very attentive and gave good recommendations. We definitely recommend the classic greek salad (all the veggies were so fresh), octopus, dips, and swordfish skewers. And the crab cakes they were great! Special shout out too to the baklava it was some of the best I've ever had. One thing to note as the night goes on the music does change to more of a Greek club vibe and it gets a little louder. Paros is a food heaven. So many options at first I was going to order two entrees but after reasoning with myself I got the Branzino. I started at the bar with a glass of Santorini white wine. Lucas the bartender suggested it. It was so delicious we ordered a bottle at dinner. The zucchini chips are to die for so definitely order those. I came to Paros for a team lunch in my department. Paros has a beautiful and spacious decor inside. We were greeted by the host who brought us to our table. It was pretty empty for noon, so the service was relatively fast. The pita bread was hot and paired well with the different spreads we asked for. 4.5 stars My coworker and I were planning to meet for dinner, so I looked through my wish list and noticed that Paros had great reviews and would be convenient for both of us. I suggested it, and she responded that she had also heard amazing things about it. When we entered the space, I immediately recognized it, knowing that it used to be a restaurant that I had frequented several years ago. It took some quick research, but I discovered that 2 restaurants ago, it had been Distilled, which had been a total favorite of mine. I also saw that the place was helmed by Top Chef finalist, George Pagonis, who had previously held other high profile gigs at Kyma in Hudson Yards, as well as Kapnos and Zaytinya in DC. Paros was beautiful; its soaring ceilings and white walls made the place appear even larger than it was. The decor and light fixtures were sleek and modern. Unfortunately, the acoustics were awful, and the packed dining room made it impossible to hear my colleague across the table. It was also a Wednesday evening, so I could only imagine what a weekend night might be like! Despite the crowd, the service was very efficient, and we were quickly asked about our drink orders. My companion went with a mocktail, but I ordered a glass of the NV Pares Balta Brut Nature Cava, an organic and biodynamic sparkling wine from Catalonia that was made from xarel-lo, parellada, and macabeau grapes. Each sip offered just the right amount of sweetness, and its healthy properties left me headache-free. In addition to our beverages, we started by sharing some spreads and a tomato-based appetizer. The restaurant described the Dakos as "Greek bruschetta", which was fairly accurate! The stunning, bright red display started a thin, crispy pita layer that was topped with cucumber, crushed tomato, and feta. Each bite was heavenly, and the accompanying Kalamata olives on the plate were also phenomenally zesty. In terms of the dips, we decided on a trio, selecting the Hummus, Tzatziki, and Melitzanosalata (smoked eggplant). The tiny bowls might not have looked like much, but they were actually the perfect amount for our generous supply of seasoned pita points. Each spread was great, but, if I had to choose, the eggplant would be my favorite. For our entrees, my colleague selected the Grilled Faroe Island Salmon, which she loved, while I went with the Alaskan Halibut. The fish was cooked perfectly, but could have used a bit of salt. It was served with roasted artichokes and grape tomatoes, all over a creamy, fragrant saffron risotto that was delicious! In the end, the experience was definitely on the pricier side, but we were very impressed with the quality and the beautiful execution of each of the items. We would both go back for sure! read more

Many people love this place but not me. I grew up eating in Greektown restaurants in Detroit. The bowl of Avgolemono soup I had at Paros was adequate. However, the service was appalling! They told me one thing regarding my bill and then took it back after I had already left! Since I had to leave while the entrees were being served, I went to cash out my share. I talked to both the manager and waitress and they told me everything was all set. After I was gone, the waitress brought the bill to our table of 16 and requested more money for my share! Came her for brunch and really enjoyed the food here. Prices are a bit high, but being that it is in the tribeca area, I can't say it's not expected. But regardless of that, we really enjoyed the food. The service was pretty good as well and they are very attentive in taking away plates and always refilling your water. One of the waiters didn't look particularly happy in terms of serving, but he still gave good service regardless of that. The space is also very big and doesn't feel too tight and clustered with each table. I can't say how it is at night for dinner though, but I will say that the volume does get a bit loud at times since it has a good amount of tables on top of music being played. If you wanted a small intimate conversation, it would be a bit harder, but they have table outdoors too for more of a quiet atmosphere. As for food, we tried 3 spreads from the Mezze's which came with pita. We tried the Hummus, Melintzanosalata (smoked eggplant) and the Taramosalata (carp roe) and they were all really good. I will say that we had to order another serving of pita because there was a lot of spread compared to pita, so we didn't want to waste it, but also didn't want to eat it on it's own. The pita comes warmed with a drizzle of olive oil and is nice and fluffy. The hummus was good, but tasted like the standard. The smoked eggplant was our favorite out of the 3 because it was light, creamy and smokey. The carp roe was interesting because it was slightly tangy which I didn't expect. I had it once at another restaurant and it was slightly different and was more roe forward in flavor, but this one was a little more mild and the tang is more prominent. It was still good though and I don't know what it supposed to taste like, so this is just personal preference. We also had the spanakopita which came with 3 and was very nice and flaky. It wasn't overly salty or greasy which was really nice. We also ordered the Grilled Octopus which I was surprised with the amount that was given. I have had other spots that gave very few pieces of octopus. This one was on a bead of their fava spread which we were glad to be able to try since it was also part of their dips. It was mild but nice and creamy. My friend wasn't a big fan of the capers, but I think the dish as a whole had a lot of complex flavors, so if you are more into a simple dish, this one may not be the one for you. It was creamy from the fava, a little tangy from the capers, a little sweet from the peppers but also had a tiny bit of zip from the onions to cut through everything. The octopus was also nice and tender while the tentacles had a little more firmness/sturdiness from the grilling. I also wanted to try their french toast because when I saw baklava, I was really curious. It was a little bit on the sweet side for me so I was glad I shared the dish, but maybe if they had the maple syrup on the side, I would enjoy it even more, but it was overall really good. I wish there was a little more baklava on there, but also because the pieces were quite small so it got a bit soggy. But I still enjoyed it when I would have pieces with a bite. The bread was very soft and pillowy, but it can feel slightly soggy if you let it sit for too long. I wish the bananas were bruleed or grilled for more depth of flavor. The whipped cream was also really good because it tasted very homemade instead of anything generic. The vanilla was very prominent which was nice. For the entree, we tried the Lavraki Filet which I think is a sea bass. It came with a side of greens that I am not too familiar with but it was mild with a slight hint of bitterness. The fish was cooked well and was nice a flaky with a little bit of a char flavor from the grill. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Paros and wouldn't mind coming back if I was looking for a nicer spot in the area for lunch or dinner. read more

The food was amazing - every single appetizer and our main dishes were great. This was the best Greek meal I've ever had in a restaurant by far. Definitely get the Paros Chips as an appetizer. The restaurant is very spacious and well decorated. The service was great with only a small hiccup - my fork had a bent tine - when I asked for a replacement, it was also bent.
