I had such a fantastic experience with Kymoto Co! We were celebrating four different birthdays of varying ages, so it was a great opportunity to order custom personalized cakes, and Kymoto Co absolutely delivered. The cakes were a huge hit! I appreciated that she checked the spelling of the cakes during pick up, because I totally misspelled one of the names and she was kind enough to fix it for me. All around wonderful experience and I could not be more grateful for the final results!

I hired Kylie to make a custom Kuromi cake because a) a regular bakery wouldn't accept an edible image purchased online, for licensing reasons, and b) I didn't want a fondant monstrosity (fonstrosity?) of the sort that other local custom cake designers seemed to specialize in. Kylie's design was tasteful and caringly done, true to the examples on her Yelp page. Plus it was reasonably priced, generously sized, timely and delicious! It tasted homemade (wasn't overly sweet like a typical bakery cake) and stayed moist for a long time. I'll keep Kylie in mind for future custom cake requests!

The cutest and tastiest cake!! I ordered a cake for my birthday from Kymoto and was very impressed. We picked up the order from the home bakery, and communication with the bakery was super prompt! She was also accommodating when I pushed my pick up time around half an hour. I got a lunchbox cake with vanilla/strawberry flavor, and it was sooo good! It's definitely on the sweeter side if you compare it with like an Asian bakery cake. However, I love sweet/buttercream cakes so it was perfect for me!! The cake art was SO beautiful, I could not stop staring at it! So much detail for a small cake. The cake is definitely very small and is good for around 2-3 people (4 people if you all have small slices). Considering the size, it is definitely on the pricey side, but that's what you pay for the time they put into it (and to support small business)! I would definitely recommend checking out Kymoto for your next cake purchase :). Can't wait to try more in the future!

My girlfriend ordered us a custom cake for our 7 years anniversary and it was super cute! She ordered a simple design but it felt right with this type of cake. Cake was the lunch box cake and it's definitely a shareable size. We ordered a chocolate cake with cookies & cream buttercream. It was very soft and moist cake! We ended up eating it over the course of a few days because it was actually a lot - in the good way! I was super happy with the cake we got. It was very yummy and from what I could tell, the communication between the owner and my girlfriend was also very great! She was super thoughtful and great with responding to our request. Smooth transaction and pick up was very simple too :) I know my girlfriend wants to order another cake because she really wants to try the matcha cake lol. Excited for our next cake from her!

such an amazing experience with Kymoto Co!! the ordering process was so smooth and she texted me with pictures of the cakes before I picked them up so I was able to make minor changes if I wanted to. I ordered two bento cakes, but unfortunately right as I got home I accidentally flipped one over and messed it up. I was SO devastated, but I reached out to Kylie and she said she would try her best to fix it! When I brought it back to her she was able to make it look brand new again within a couple of hours! Being able to come up with a custom cake design was so fun and Kylie was super prompt in answering any questions I had! Kymoto absolutely brought my custom cake design that I had envisioned to life, I was absolutely thrilled when I got to pick up the finished product - it was the highlight of my birthday! On top of being cute the cake is absolutely delicious! I'm so picky when it comes to cake since I find the grocery store ones to be a bit too sweet, but Kymoto cakes just absolutely nailed it in terms of being not too sweet!

Kymoto Co has forever changed the cake game everyone! They have THE cutest, minimal, aesthetic, creative, unique, and delicious cakes EVER. I never knew I needed cakes like this in my life. I highly recommend placing an order with them for all of your future events / celebrations - you will not be disappointed. Kymoto Co cakes are perfect for gatherings with friends (they offer 6" cakes), but you can even order the 4" cakes to share with a friend (or two)! My first order with Kymoto Co was earlier in March - I ordered the lunch tin cake since I was traveling and needed a small cake for a birthday celebration. It was perfectly packaged, made it to its destination, and was perfect for consumption later on! I left it out to room temperature prior to eating it, which made the cake and buttercream the perfect texture together (this is the recommended method). I loved it so much I ordered a birthday cake for my mom recently as well. This time I got the 6" vanilla and strawberry cake. It was a beautiful dessert AND gift at the same time. Apart from the cakes themselves, the owner is also such a nice person! She carefully crafted my cakes and really checked in to make sure I was happy with my orders. Cuteness in a compostable clamshell! I had an awesome experience with Kylie brainstorming a cake for my brother's birthday. Kylie was attentive and creative, and provided amazing suggestions. I had some ideas for the cake and also some hopes to have something a little more blood sugar friendly and Kylie came up with a sleek Dungeons & Dragons theme with more of a "naked" style for the outside frosting. I ordered the 4" matcha/vanilla cake and in the ultimate Asian auntie compliment: it was not to sweet! The cake was soft and moist, and the ratio was great. It was helpful to take the cake out for about half an hour before serving, and it was a perfect size for our family to each have a piece and not have to store the rest of a cake for days. You can tell Kylie puts her heart into the cakes and the business. I've ordered a few cakes for various occasions now from Kymoto and it has been a crowd pleaser time and time again! Not only are they BEAUTIFUL but the cake itself is fantastic!! It's light, moist and not overly sweet (bonus points). Personal favorites are definitely the Funfetti, vanilla w/ strawberry buttercream and matcha. The owner, Kylie, is also the sweetest and super talented! I just tell her what the occasion is and she runs wild with the cake design. Kymoto Co made my cousin's birthday so special (: Ordering online is super easy - the hard part is actually choosing from so many cute designs. I went with the 4" foodie lunchbox with vanilla cake & cookies n cream buttercream. I listed six of our favorite foods, chose light pink as the base color, and entered a short birthday message for the cake. The mini foods were adorable and it's amazing that Kylie (owner) piped these by hand with buttercream! I also ordered a custom 4" lunchbox cake with vanilla cake & strawberry buttercream. I emailed Kylie a photo of my cousin's painting that I was hoping she could recreate on the cake and she did an amazing job. Kylie is truly an artist and my cousin was left speechless once she saw her painting on the cake. We shared these two cakes with four of our friends and they were a hit! The cakes were light and fluffy and the buttercream wasn't too sweet but still flavorful - the strawberry buttercream was our fav! Delivery was a breeze and Kylie is so sweet, she even gave us candles for the cakes. I wish Kymoto Co was in the Bay Area so I can order more often for my loved ones... and myself hehe but for now, Kymoto Co will be my go to for all celebrations in Orange County. ONCE AGAIN they absolutely killed my cake. i've gotten one from them before and it was 10/10 as well. This time though HANDS DOWN CUTEST CAKE IN THE WORLD. matched my vision exactly Also it tasted amazing. So kind and caring when I accidentally messed up the pick up time communication with my father. But Poor customer service is a choice. She's blocked me on IG from commenting under my own cake, where I was speaking to another lady who was a loyal customer and would order 2-3 cakes a year for 4-6 years and just recently they didn't deliver to her and shockingly provided no intention of communicating this with her. It sounds like the previous owner was a lot more competent from reading other similar disappointed reviews like mine. The issue was disappointing, but the refusal to meaningfully address it--and the way the complaint was handled--was ultimately the bigger problem. Beautiful cake, but disappointing attention to detail & customer service I want to start by saying that the cake itself was gorgeous and, visually, it was very close to what I envisioned. I also appreciated that they provided free delivery from Tustin to Orange, which was a nice gesture. Unfortunately, there were enough discrepancies between what we discussed and what I actually received that, especially for the price, I left feeling disappointed. I provided two inspiration photos and spoke with the owner multiple times by phone about the specific details of the cake. I was repeatedly told that she only personally gets on the phone for wedding cakes and special-event cakes, so I made a point of going over the details carefully with her when I had her on the phone. Despite those conversations, several details were missed: * The Chanel-inspired font did not match the inspiration photo we discussed. * The edible glitter we specifically discussed was not on the cake. * The inspiration showed white pearls on top, but the cake had gold pearls instead. * The filling was described/discussed as including fresh fruit, but what I received was only raspberry puree. The cake itself was lemon with raspberry puree and cream cheese piping. * The communication through the online portal was also unnecessarily confusing. For something this detailed, I would have preferred straightforward phone communication rather than relying so heavily on portal messages, where details can easily get lost or misunderstood. As well as calling them directly and talking to an AI machine rather than a live person What was most disappointing, however, was the lack of follow-up after I brought these discrepancies to their attention. I called back to provide feedback and was told to ask for the owner. I did exactly that, yet I have received no follow-up since August 26. It's now Sept 4th and I had to call because there has never been a follow up. I understand that custom cakes involve artistic interpretation, and I wasn't expecting a completely identical replica of an inspiration photo. However, when specific details are discussed multiple times directly with the owner, I do expect those details to be reflected in the finished product. The cake was beautiful, but beautiful isn't enough when multiple agreed-upon details are missed and there is no meaningful customer service afterward. For what I paid, I expected significantly better attention to detail and communication. Overall, I'm disappointed with the experience. It's especially disappointing when celebrating a 35th bday while being newly ENGAGED and the white pearls were the biggest missing piece. Without the white pearls it no longer read as Chanel or even bridal for that matter. There was also no offer to rectify the situation or otherwise address the mistake. Instead, after I provided my feedback, I was told that we should part ways. I found that response disappointing, particularly for a milestone celebration and at this price point. I'm not leaving this review because the cake wasn't perfectly identical to a photo. I'm leaving it because of how my concerns were handled after the cake did not meet an important part of the requested design. I would have appreciated an effort to resolve the issue rather than having the conversation end with the decision to part ways. For future special occasions, save yourself the headache, hassle and frustration. I STRONGLY suggest you go anywhere else.

With a guest of over 50 people (kids and adults), the cake and cupcake was a hit with everyone. My friends were complimenting on the blueberry cake and asked me who I had made it. I put the order 5 days before I said it needed it and they agreed it can be done by then. I thought it was easy and I just followed it up with the change of topping on the cake. I explicitly stated to text me if they needed anything else from me since I have never done this before. I probably should've followed them up, but I was busy that week. Since I didn't hear anything afterwards I thought I had secured my order. The day I come to pick up the cake, they tell me they don't have the order. The lady who I spoke to, who I'm assuming was on the phone when I initially called, is telling me I put a request not an order and that I didn't even provide my full name (not true, I did). I'm being told that I shouldve put down a deposit and have a contract with them for the cake. I wasn't provided with any contract or a Zelle username. If I had that information I would've absolutely done it. As a business you should provide the customer with that sort of information. I had no idea and I wasn't told that thru text. Should I have followed up? Absolutely, i know that now. There's no information on the website about a contract or deposit information. Only the phone number that I first called. So they should probably update that if they have so many orders and can't keep track with request. There was a lot of deflection from the lady when i tried to explain my grievance. No apology either for the confusion. I felt crazy because I thought I might've missed their messages. Nope nothing. Only the Zelle information after I had arrive there. Luckily, they had puff pastry ready and told me they could have the cake ready in 15 min, and I really needed the cake so I agree to still do business. When I got the cake it was still warm and they told me to freeze it in my refrigerator for it to set. 15 min to get to my place and the ganache has melted off the top and custard had already spilled out from the sides. I had a long drive afterwards and not even an insulated bag could save it. It did taste good, it's too bad about communication, and everything else.

She responded quickly and in a friendly yet professional manner and her pricing is very reasonable. I wanted a cake for 50 people and I gave her some photos and described the design that I wanted. She delivered above and beyond my expectations. Not only did it look great but it tasted great too and was a complete hit at the event we wanted the cake for. I loved all the pictures that had been posted of her fabulous cakes. The day of the shower dawned. I had JUST got out of the hospital and went to pick up the cake.
