I came in for their soft opening yesterday after revamping this location and man! To start off with, when you're waiting for your order, they share a space with a consignment type business so you can browse little trinkets and secondhand clothes while you wait. My drink was sooo delicious. I decided to try the Blue Sky Cloud Matcha and I'm still dreaming about it. The blue foam was to die for and of course their matcha is ceremonial grade so you know it's the best quality. I bought the Vanilla Bean Dream for my coworker and she said it was one of the best matcha drinks she's ever had. Definitely give this place a try, you won't regret it!

I was browsing around for matcha latte's in SD and this was the one I was excited to try. I didn't realize it was a little pop up shop which was okay. For the drinks ~ I got the strawberry matcha - 3/5, it was more biter and lacking sweetness. The matcha flavor wasn't there. My BF got the banana matcha based on my suggestion from the reviews and it also wasn't any better. I don't think I will be back, but the workers are nice.

While I was in San Diego, I wanted to check out several matcha spots which included Kyoto Coast Matcha. When I walked in, the staff was very friendly and had great energy. I'm a sucker for floral matcha drinks so when I saw the Earl Grey Matcha, I couldn't refuse. I loved the color of my matcha and I could taste the earl grey. I couldn't really taste the matcha unfortunately and would have loved to, considering how the sizing and pricing of the drinks were quite steep.

Lots of options if you like matcha this is a good place to try different favors combos. The matcha was $9 each which is a bit steep for me but I get it, nice area. They give you a buzzer so you can shop around while they work on your drinks. I liked my coconut cloud matcha. I think the strawberry was a bit watery.

Kyoto Coast Matcha is a pop-up counter inside a boutique furniture maker in a corner suite of the Little Italy neighborhood. They currently operate between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm on Friday through Sunday. Perhaps they will expand these limited hours because there is almost always a wait to place an order. A few small round tables for seating were placed on the sidewalk in front of the building. I found a curbside space about two blocks away and walked over to join a queue of about a dozen customers. A two-sided poster on a sidewalk stand held the menu in which each of the eight drinks were priced at $9. All of the cold foams were noted to be dairy free. Six of the choices were creative concoctions with an artist's drawing of how the drink looked. I intended to pick one of the two simple selections when I discovered there was a seasonal variety listed on a menu stand at the service counter. The Guava Matcha was the spring offering which was what I bought. There were several baristas preparing orders. It took about 30 minutes from the time I entered the line to when I received my drink. Ceremonial grade matcha was layered on top of regular milk with guava syrup on the bottom of the cup. I was told to stir the contents well before drinking. The blend had a smooth matcha taste while the guava acted as a sweetener.

We love supporting a black-owned business! Came on a Friday a bit before 11AM and there was quite a line; it took 30 mins to order and get our drinks. I love that the default milk is oat and all cold foams are non-dairy! Vanilla bean dream (4/5): not the strongest matcha I've had, but decently strong and a good sweetness Banana breeze (3/5): I wasn't used to the taste of something in the drink, it was decent but I wouldn't get it again Drinks are a decent size but a bit pricey. Looks like they're planning a location in La Jolla which is so cool! I would come back if I was in the area and craving a matcha.

Super cute little pop up! The matchas are all very vibrant and colorful. Their flavors are quite fun. I got the strawberry one since I'm a big strawberry fan. Usually strawberry matchas use a puree, but here it's more of a strawberry milk. The drink was a bit sweet for my liking. This seems more like a fun drink rather than a weekday morning pick-me-up. The service was amazing. The staff were so kind and positive. They really added to the experience. There isn't really seating. Also, be prepared for metered parking in this area.

I visited SD for the weekend & LOVE matcha, so visiting this popup was one of the things I was most excited about. I found out about it on TikTok. It's a very cute space. This spot's located inside of a boutique that sells clothing, accessories, jewelry, home decor, and quirky, eclectic little pieces. It was fun to explore a bit while I waited for my drink. The line wasn't excessively long, but I believe I waited over 30 minutes. My friend doesn't drink matcha, so shoutout to her for patiently waiting with me, lol. The staff were working diligently, they were just very busy. I only wish there was more seating. There are a couple tables & a little bench, but most of us had to stand & wait. On the plus side, it was a gorgeous day, & I could get shade by just standing in the boutique. I just had to move around a lot because it was crowded & people constantly needed to get by because space was tight. I love that the menu poster is so large & colorful, making it easy to pick your order before you approach the ordering counter. I went with the vanilla dream matcha because I love vanilla DOWN, but didn't realize until that moment that I've not seen many cafes offer vanilla bean options. This actually may be the first. I was also intrigued by the aloe option, as I've not seen that anywhere else either. Anyways, I loved my drink. The matcha was the perfect texture; smooth and not grainy, I was able to order it with almond milk, and the cold foam was delicious. It was creamy & tasted fresh; not artificial at all. Customer service was also good. I hope I can try a different flavor the next time I'm in town!

Kyoto Coast Matcha is a vibe! Black owned! It's a pop up in Little Italy that serves matcha drinks with personality. I was able to grab one when I went as part of a partnership between Black Girls Who Walk SD, Kyoto Coast Matcha and Board & Boujee. I had the Vanilla Bean Dream and it was such a good mix of matcha and vanilla. I've never had those two flavors together so I'm glad I could try it out. They had lots of other options that I want to try. They have a Strawberry Matcha I am interested in. There were two sets of seating outside. Two tables and 4 chairs. There is also a concrete bench outside. This is Little Italy so don't forget that the parking is sparse. The event was early before the store opened. When we returned from the walk around 11am, there was a line of at least 10 people. So get there right when they open if you don't want to stand in line. Make sure to check the hours too. It's a pop up so it's not open every hour of the day. I was very pleased to hear that they plan on opening a shop in La Jolla. I'll be so excited to check it out once it opens.

I do like great matcha, and this place, Kyoto Coast Matcha, makes some terrific matcha. I picked up the Kyoto Classic with signature organic first harvest ceremonial matcha with a touch of honey and milk. The flavor of the coastal match was quite amazing. It offered a milder flavor than most, and the beverage was smooth. The match was clean and fresh. It was no doubt, some of the best I have tried in San Deigo. If you are a matcha lover, this one is a must. The service was super friendly and welcoming. They are popped up at 2360 India St, San Diego, CA 92101 or at Bedford Built furniture store in Little Italy. They offer a few tables outside.

This was my second time trying this place and getting the double matcha and I was so disappointed because all I could taste was the syrup. The drink was a little too sweet for my liking. The first time I came, the drink was way better. Overall would maybe give this place another try especially since there was no line when I went.

I love that matcha is becoming more and more popular so I had to check out this new spot. It's a black owned business. They are located in the heart of little Italy. Open Fri- Sunday until 1pm. Because of the short hours the line is long. It took about 40 mins on Saturday around 11am. The aloe matcha caught my eyes since I haven't seen it anywhere else. It's refreshing. Also tried the blue sky cloud. Was scared it would be too sweet from the marshmallow but it was actually not. Had a good balance with the matcha. Good spot if you want a fun matcha drink. They also have a Dubai chocolate matcha. Hope they expand their hours!

Pretty good! My friend and I came 5 minutes before opening and there was no line yet. But after we got our drinks, a line of 10ish ppl started to form. I got the coconut matcha and my friend got the banana matcha. I thought they were both pretty good but the flavor of the syrups and foams outshine the matcha. I'd come back again to try out their other drinks !

This 2-3 drinks that I had to try a pic of before they were gone. Passion fruit and vanilla bean dream with strawberry puree

This one definitely earned a spot near the top of my list. The matcha is a little on the sweet side, which was a treat for me. The sweetness is offset by the creamy topping that had a hint of saltiness. Definitely different from the others i've tried! Bonus points for the easy parking! The staff members also were friendly and positive in mood. I ordered their batch brew coffee which was illustrated as using Guatemala beans that provided "chocolate, nutty, caramel, and citrusy" notes. I didn't quite taste the first three aforementioned notes, but the citrusy, sour note was there along with bitter notes. I've been here before and I much prefer their lattes such as the Troubleshooter and Debugger. Those are exceptionally enjoyable drinks to me. I would rate the batch brew a 3/5 but I'd rate the two aforementioned lattes around a 4.5/5. Overall, it's best to enjoy the specialty drinks here and inundate yourself with sweet caffeine to focus on studying for your upcoming test or completing your project that's about to be due.
