Parking available right in front of shop. Must pay for parking between 10am-10pm everyday (license plate registration). They have a single table outside the shop to sit at. Ordering: We had zero staff interaction. Credit card only. You walk up, order from hand sized 'kiosk' and pay. You choose between oat or almond for the milk. Unfortunately it requires you to give your phone number when ordering which I personally dislike. Please add an option to skip this. Drinks were ready within 5-10 mins of ordering (another couple ordered two drinks ahead of us). Tried: Oreo matcha $8.50 - ordered less sweet but was still very sweet. The taste was very artificial. Matcha was too light and watered down. I didn't like this drink but friend was okay with it. Strawberry matcha $8 - better than Oreo but still watered down matcha flavor. Probably worthwhile to get their double matcha instead for a better matcha flavor but that would bring the cost over $10 if you add flavoring.
On the way to Brandy Melville, my sister and I decided to try out this matcha place. It's a very small storefront, with no seating area, and you order by yourself on a small phone. The price range for the drinks there are $8-10, which is kind of steep, especially for a small size! I got the Ube Matcha, which was fine, but for that price, I'd rather go somewhere else. I worked at a boba shop before, and I could tell they used the same Ube powder lol. My sister got the ABICADO drink, which was coconut water with matcha, banana cream top, with sprinkles. This was $10 and tasted like watered-down matcha with a hint of banana. Definitely a unique combo that she wanted to try! I get it, though, for a spot that close to the beach I'd imagine the rent to be high! But the quality of the products does not make up for it! I even saw the Torani syrup bottles in the back after I placed my order, which was already a sign that I shouldn't be expecting much. Sorry, but for $10 a matcha, I'm expecting house-made syrups! What a letdown because this place is so cute :(
Seen this place on IG and thought I would give it a try. Once I arrived I waited a bit to order. After a few minutes the barista asked if I was waiting on something I said yea to order. She then told me you order on the kiosk, personally I don't like that set up I prefer a have a human interaction with a small business. It makes it a little more personal and you get to ask questions etc..... I ordered the gone surfing. You can pretty much select the milk the sweetness level on the kiosk. Overall the drink was ok not worth the $12 bucks I paid tbh. Street parking with the meters. They had two tables outside that seat two.
My daughter took me out today to celebrate Mother's Day early on a Saturday since she works on Sunday (Mother's Day). We decided on 12-hour Matcha. Luckily, we had hardly anyone in line so we didn't wait for very long. They do not show a printed menu anywhere from what I saw other than on a computer ordering screen. We ordered two Banana Matcha drinks. The flavor of the Matcha was good, and the banana flavored cold foam was also tasty butt it seemed to be more than the actual Matcha. We were disappointed in the one-size cup small they serve the Matcha in. The size was like a child's portion size cup. That was my only complaint. It cost 9.00 plus tax which was overpriced for the size of the cup. Sorry to say I will not return. The high-priced Matcha needs to be available in larger cups.
Anyone who says this is good matcha is unfortunately lying. No hate to the gal making our drinks, she seemed sweet. However, both of our drinks were not only expensive but tasted nothing like matcha. I got the Einspanner matcha and the coconut matcha. Total was $17 and some change. They also ask for a tip despite zero interaction with staff. Einspanner tasted like milk, zero matcha flavor and clearly made with poor, cheap quality matcha. Vanilla cream top that Einspanners usually have was foamy, flavorless and dissipated before the first sip. Coconut matcha was somehow better, but still lacked any strong matcha flavor. Both drinks left a lot to be desired. The ordering process is thru a machine, u dont interact with anyone at all except for the drink handoff, the menu is long and weirdly repetitive. Matcha candies were a nice touch but not enough to redeem the whole experience. Unfortunately, i cannot recommend this place less.
Have been hearing about this matcha spot from friends and wanted to try it! I thought it was like a cafe but it's more of a grab & go spot. There are 2 tables on the sidewalk for seating with a few chairs. It would be a cute spot if they had indoor seating but I don't think they're set up like that. Service was quick & easy, you order on an iPad and there seemed to be plenty of options including a "regular" matcha latte and then some fun options like a tiramisu matcha, strawberry matcha, etc. I ordered the biscoff matcha with oat milk. You have the option for less/normal/extra sweetness levels. The total came out to $9.50 with tax, before tip. Pricing seems normal for what you're getting. I enjoyed my drink! I don't have the most complex palate when it comes to matcha but I thought it was good & with the "normal" level of sweetness, not overly sweet. I would come back!
I ordered the Ube Cloud Matcha and i expected a little better from this. I had high hopes for this spot and wanted to give it a chance from my friends and their experience as well. The first sip had a nutty taste to it and the rest was okay. I enjoyed the ube foam on top & was super soft. The service here was okay, it was a self service and wasn't that helpful from the workers themselves when I needed to ask a couple questions. I thought this place was a sit down but there was barely any spots to enjoy the matcha at, at all. For their menu options, it was very limited and they were out of stock of a lot of drinks, so it was limited to what they had. I don't think I will be coming here again, but thank you for the drink!

The cup size was like a kid cup size. I sipped it in like 5 sips. I asked the barista if I could pay the difference for the bigger cup but she said I'd have to pay for a whole other drink after I already paid $10 for the first drink I ordered. Didn't sit right with me so I passed. I went, I tried it out and that's all for me.
Definitely one of the worst matchas I've ever had in my life. The powder and taste is so off putting. Nowhere near authentic. You can find better if you drive up to OC, LA, or go somewhere else in SD. My matcha einspanner tasted like sugar with a hint of something. What powder do they use? Very disappointing and I can't believe they charge $9.50 and it's just a stand. Price doesn't make sense.

It is on the sweeter side, even for a sweet tooth for me Matcha einspanner (2/5): from the beginning, I knew it would taste off due to the pale green color compared to the double matcha. You had me with Matcha! While strolling around the areas of Pacific Beach, I noticed this little bright green stand. Was excited to try 12 Hrs Matcha cafe because it's self explanatory...did it take 12 hours to brew prep the matcha to create an intense match flavor...? The store front is basically a walk up window where you see the menu on the small ordering tablet, making your preference about type of milk, and flavor selections and pay, All electronically. No human interaction during the ordering process. An actual human does prepare your drink and set it on the counter for you to pickup. Your phone will alert you once your order is ready. I selected a couple of drinks: the Ube match and the banana bread matcha latte, both light in sugar and ice. The drinks come in rather smallish cups, if I had asked for more ice, the contents would be a lot less :( Presentation was nice. The guy who prepared my drinks was also nice and friendly. Upon the tasting each drink, the top portion where the added flavors are were delicious, you need a straw to sip the bottom portion with the matcha, which tasted NOT as strong or intense as I expected given the name 12 hours :( Was disappointed the drink didn't live up to my reasonable expectation of a strong tasting matcha, will probably not return. If you like matcha lattes with creative flavors and don't necessarily want the intense matcha taste, try it.

They only have the option of oat or almond milk. And their sweet syrups are agave. They were pretty fast with making my drink. The drink was alright, there wasn't anything special or memorable to me. The matcha is too light not a dark vibrant green. And even though I opted for the least amount of sweet I tasted the sweetness more than the matcha itself. There was no hint of earthiness to it. Overall this place is just a sugary drink place in my opinion.
Cute lil matcha shop in PB! While there's plenty of parking in front of the shop, beware it's all a pay-by-plate zone. The ladies were friendly and recommended their new item, the banana matcha with a foam top. It wasn't too sweet, but I thought it was just okay. I should have tried their blueberry matcha instead. A little matcha shack near Brandy that kept showing up on my tiktok, so I finally decided to give it a try. I got the strawberry matcha and my friend got the double matcha. Unfortunately, I did not like my strawberry matcha. It was super sweet probably from the strawberry jam. The description said they use real strawberry puree, but it tasted just like the strawberry jam you put on toast. The matcha taste itself was alright but not that strong. For the small size of these cups, I really could not understand why 2 drinks came out to be over $20... oh and there is just a little kiosk to order off of, so you don't even interact with any of the workers. read more

I had high hopes for this matcha place. The greenness of the matcha looks promising but this matcha einspanner tasted diluted. It's typically how a matcha latte would taste after sitting for a while. Also the cream top was foamy (rather than being creamy) and the matcha powder on top was clumpy. This was $9.50 after changing to oat milk :/ read more
New matcha cafe that opened fairly recently and I was very interested to try and see how they compared to some other more established cafes in the area. When I saw all the different matcha drinks you could order, I had high hopes that they would meet expectations. To start off, the location is not the easiest to get to. They're located on one of the busier streets in Pacific Beach and parking in that area could be a nightmare. Luckily, we snagged a meter spot right in front of the cafe. Our other friends had to park several blocks away in the residential area and walk over. At the counter window, we ordered through a small kiosk and there's a screen with estimated wait times based on your order number. At this point, there's no interaction with the staff as they're all behind the scenes working on everybody's drinks. If you have any questions before sending your order in, you would have to holler or wait for them to bring an order out. I ordered the Einspanner and the Strawberry Matcha. Both were great matcha drinks and I didn't notice any grittiness that you would find in some poorer quality drinks. Between the two, the Einspanner was my favorite because of the vanilla foam. The Strawberry had a thick, chunky jam on the bottom and it didn't mix easily into the drink so at times, you'd get a big sip of just jam/syrup. Overall, this place is a very solid matcha cafe but it's pretty expensive for the amount of matcha you get. I'm glad I got to try this place out but there are a lot more cheaper options in San Diego. read more

My friend and I came here the other day looking for a place with ube matcha lattes. This little walk up window might be unsuspecting, but don't be fooled, these lattes are unmatched. This stall had lots of neighborhood offers around it like QR codes for free workout trials at local studios. The menu was available to view on an iPad like touch screen. We ordered and paid from there and our orders were ready pretty quickly to take away with straws. I had an iced ube cloud matcha latte with regular sweetness and an extra matcha scoop (needed the caffeine) with almond milk. I would get this every day if I could. The perfect amount of sweetness and ube flavor, and was worth every penny. My friend had the Salt Vault x 12 HRS MATCHA, which was a iced coconut water matcha latte with I believe strawberry foam. Hers was a bit more refreshing than mine and I'd definitely recommend this to anyone needing both a caffeine and hydration boost. read more

12 Hrs Matcha Cafe has made its way to the PB neighborhood after relocating from Chula Vista. They have taken over a suite that housed a short-lived ice cream shop. The setup was a service window with no available seating so you have to take your order to go. A small two-page menu was provided at the window next to a self-service ordering tablet. A screen behind the counter tracked the status of orders and indicated when they could be picked up. There were nine drinks on the left page which was the Signature Luxe category. Three drinks were on the right page which was the Guilty Pleasures: Matcha Dream category. Oat milk or almond milk were available as a base, and all drinks could only be made with ice. I chose the Mango Matcha which included a scoop of mango puree to go with four grams of matcha and oat milk. The serving size was small for the $8.50 price, however the flavors were some of the most intense I have tried for both the matcha and the fruit. I stirred my drink a few times to ensure the puree would continue to be mixed with the oat milk and matcha. My wait was minimal as there were just two customers ahead of me. I heard there have been instances with a significant line. I gave a four star rating for my visit to 12 Hrs Matcha Cafe. read more

Was walking by and decided to try this matcha spot. It's a hole in the wall spot with limited table seating, easy to grab and go. You order off a phone kiosk which is interesting. I waited not too long for my drink. While the drink was aesthetically pleasing, I think for the price point it was just okay. The matcha was $9.50 and it didn't have a strong matcha flavor so I personally thought it was overpriced. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it was good. read more

Our Saturday matcha cravings brought us to 12 HRS MATCHA CAFE in Pacific Beach! Hours of operation are from 9am to 9pm...12 hours!! We were already in the area, at Madi for brunch, and easily took a 7-minute stroll to order matcha from here. We stood in line on the sidewalk for ~30 minutes and eventually ordered at the kiosk. The menu is pretty extensive than what you see on the website. During the wait, the bubbly owner was greeting everyone with a smile, and took photos of those who already had their drinks in hand. The window was more for the baristas to call names for order pick-up. Per usual, I ordered two drinks: Ocean Cloud and the Double Matcha. YUMMY! They were the perfect refreshments while walking around sunny San Diego. My favorite was actually the Ocean Cloud because I've never had a matcha drink made with coconut water! This place offers some terrific premium ceremonial grade matcha. In fact, it was some of the best I've experienced in San Diego. Now, I like mine simple without all the bells and whistles, so I ordered the regular ceremonial matcha latte with less honey for $8 and some change. After giving the matcha a quick stir, I took my first sip, and was set back for a few seconds to learn how delicious the matcha was. The matcha flavor was pure and clean with no bitterness. I was very happy with it. The service at the window was friendly. You order at the small square kiosk available at the window. There's no inside nor outside seating at this location. read more
Not sure what the hype was with this place. The matcha almost had no flavor for me, no bitterness, sweetness or umami. It doesn't come sweetened which is fine but still didn't taste like much. Hard pass. Wouldn't come back here even if the other drinks are "better". My friend has been twice and said the banana matcha is sold out every time. It's pricey too. Workers are really nice though! Stopped by with a friend to try 12 Hrs Matcha after hearing so many good things about it from multiple people. The shop is basically a window where you order on an ipad and wait for your drink. When it was our turn to order, we noticed that most of the menu was unavailable. We both decided on the creme brulee matcha. Both less sweet, one with almond milk and the other with oat milk. Unfortunately, neither of us cared for our lattes and ended up throwing them away, which hurt us cos we were raised not to waste food. All we tasted was milk and cream. It definitely overpowered the matcha flavor and overall drink. Sadly, each latte was about $10 too. Not sure if we probably should've ordered something else or if we just came on a bad day. read more

This matcha is delicious!! As a matcha snob, I am very picky about my matchas and this one is definitely in my top 5 in SD. I've tried the double matcha, mango matcha, einspanner and the strawberry matcha. The double matcha is great for true matcha lovers and the strawberry is my next favorite when I want a sweeter drink. They are quite consistent, but pretty expensive. It's about $9-10 for one drink. Definitely prefer this location to the Chula Vista one, it's night and day with drink quality. read more

I've been craving a coconut matcha cloud and this was the only place in San Diego that Google said has it so I decided to drive here after work today. Saw a lady before me pick up her matcha order and when it was my turn I didn't see anyone behind the counter. The music was loud and I didn't know if I should call out to someone behind the counter wall. Their set up was weird!!!! I saw this phone on the counter but it was dead and a sign that said "menu". I was literally standing there for about 5-7 minutes trying to figure out how the online ordering was working if that was the case coz I don't see anyone. Then finally when I was about to give up, a girl shows up behind the counter and was surprised to see me waiting. She told me I needed to order on the phone, I showed her that the battery was dead and the sign that was supposed to say "order here" only said "menu" . The experience was turning grave.... She pulled a bigger iPad, from the floor, I would say about a desktop size and told me I could order from there so I did. The drinks were about $8 each, I got my coconut matcha cloud and ordered a Vietnamese coffee with ube foam. The sizes were not the same and I didn't know if I ordered them that way. Anyways, the matcha cloud for sure satisfied my craving. I haven't tasted the Vietnamese coffee yet. I find this place really odd, better to have a robot working here. If the owner wants minimal interaction with customers, at least put a camera upfront or a ring so you can see if anyone's waiting at the counter. I would definitely come back here if I'm craving a matcha in SD. On a Sunday morning, my group waited about 20 minutes to order. It's a walk up window, to-go only, and there's no place to sit. The lady who I think is the owner is really kind! You can't really see her because she's in the back making all the matcha drinks, but she thanked us for waiting and for our order. I order the double matcha and my bf got the mango matcha. I enjoyed the double matcha. My friend got the Earth latte, which was colored with blue spirulina and had a coconut foam. I'd love to come back and try more drinks! read more
My friend took me here because i am a matcha lover and i loved the idea of it being a small hole in the wall stand! there was no line so did not need to wait, they were very accommodating and kind. they also had a coco puff cold brew coffee, similar to the one at disney, and omg it honestly tasted better than disneys (sorry disney). read more
Such a cute and unique matcha spot! I went at 5 pm before the sunset and there was a line! I got the SAULTVAULT Matcha (minus the strawberry foam) and it came out quick and yummy. You can tell the matcha is high quality. Will definitely be back to get the biscoff and the ube!! read more

I had high hopes for this matcha because of all the amazing reviews, but I was disappointed. The drink was very small for the price (around $9) and unfortunately it was quite flavorless and nothing special. honestly surprised it has such high ratings because my experience did not match the hype. Not coming back for sure. read more

Limited seating, small cups for the price, order on kiosk, bitter taste even when I chose extra sweet, and fast service at least. Personally won't be going back. read more

The matcha had no real taste, no sweetness, no bitterness, just very bland, almost like water. The only flavor I could really taste was the Biscoff. The place itself is nice and in a good location, though parking is hard to find. Service was good; the staff were friendly and accommodating. read more
