    Chicken teriyaki udon 8-20-22

Choice of 5 veggies for their yaki udon. I enjoy the combo with both chicken and beef. The flavor is good and so filling. I usually have enough for 2 meals.

After a busy day at the small we decided to eat at Kyoto since it was one of our go to's back in the day. We decided to order the beef with egg ($12.94) and the shrimp and chicken yakisoba ($13.99). You get to choose 5 vegetables when you order the yakisoba. We went with mushrooms, onions, cabbage, carrots. It's nice to watch them cook your meal in front of you. It is pretty fast and before you know it, it'll be ready. The beef and egg was so good! There was an even amount of beef and rice and the sauce complemented the rice so well. The noodles were satisfying and they served a lot more than before. Service was good and staff are quick to get your order and start cooking. Thumbs up to the chefs in the front as well!

I came here this past week with my cousin for a quick lunch and honestly it wasn't as good as I remembered it being. The cashier was super nice when she took my order and food was prepared quickly but they didn't use as much veggies as before. I remember the last time I ordered from here, our plates were kind of overflowing with the amount of veggies and noodles they used but this time not so much. Also the flavor of the food wasn't as good as before. The price did go up quite a bit as well, which is totally understandable however they shouldn't be upping the price and giving less food. I will say that the food still seemed very fresh so at least the quality of the products are still good. Shiitake mushrooms was a bit chewy so I would opt out the next time. May come back to give them another chance but was a little disappointed by this visit.

Pearlridge Uptown Food Court The teriyaki sauce is sooo gooood!! We love the beef and mushroom bowl! I often ask them to substitute the mushrooms for onions and they never say no. I go between the beef bowl and Kyoto special which is udon, teriyaki chicken and shrimp tempura. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures.

Idk what happened Was always my go to but... $2 something dollars each for this? ‍ thankfully my beef w/ egg was still satisfying

Tried their beef with mushroom rice bowl. Pretty good - would probably get it again. Service - ok. The thin beef slices were just tender enough. Not too fatty. There were plenty of mushrooms, all over steaming hot rice. Type of plastic bowl used (I know - there are constraints due to both supply chain and/or plastic container environmental regulations) made it difficult to eat because there was a thick layer of beef and mushrooms (which on the bright side means there's enough of the entree!) so it was hard to get to the rice. I like to have both entrees and rice together... I got chopsticks, but next time I think I'll use a fork, may be easier to eat from this type of bowl. This was a pretty tasty combo - perhaps a bit more sauce would have been nice but this dish wasn't lacking. As I wrote this, I decided yes I would get this again but with a fork as stated. Reasonable price.

Kyoto is in the food court in Pearl Ridge downtown. I like coming here for the beef & shrimp plate. You get 5 side choices to choose from to mix in with your plate. I usually get the Shitake mushrooms, regular mushrooms, broccoli, sprouts, and onions. However they have other choices as well. I like the hot sauce that comes with it too (when you request it). There's never a line when I go & the chefs cook in front of you. Nothing too fancy ofc, but it's still fun to watch. The plates have good amount of servings and the price is decent too. Very friendly staff as well who are always smiling.

"I'm impressed!"That's all I keep thinking about as I enjoyed my meal from KYOTO SUSHI & BENTO. I never considered eating here before until last night. My daughter and her friends had a Girl's Night Out. Therefore, my husband and I brought them to Pearlridge for a quick meal along with some shopping. We decided to check out the food court. My daughter's friend wanted to eat here, and so I thought of trying it out with her. Here is what I ordered: CHICKEN YAKIUDON: you have the choice to select 5 sides (fresh veggies) from the veggie bar. Once you choose your 5 sides, it gets cooked on the grill right before your very eyes. Then, they will add your meat and noodles that you pre-selected. That all gets cooked and stir fried. Now, that's what I call freshly made. Yum. They actually gave a HUGE AMOUNT of food. I paid about $8.00 with tax. Pretty good deal. It tasted pretty good, too. I thought this place was pretty good considering they are in the food court. I can't wait to try their other dishes. So, if you are in the mood for some freshly made to order meal, go and check out KYOTO SUSHI & BENTO. You'll thank me for that!

They are located in the Pearlridge food court next to Pearls and Church's chicken. They offer a healthier choice in comparison to other options at the food court. I got the chicken plate which was around $8.50. For the price they give a good size portion, it tastes yummy & comes with rice and your choice of stir fries veggies. The workers could work on being more welcoming; greeting, saying thank you, providing a recipe and not leaning on the counters.

Ordered #1 on the menu Chicken with no rice. The standard plate comes with 5 sides. Because I had no rice, they gave me 2 extra sides. Sides are one pinch of the tong. I choose 4 bean sprouts, 2 fresh mushrooms, and broccoli. Didn't know that my plate was finished cooking. It was sitting on the counter. And no one called out. The cook was actually talking story with his friend. When I asked if that was mine he said, yes. Just thought it was rude. Although the food was good, they lose a star for that.

It's on no 3 on the menu shrimp with vegetables

Affordable Tenpannyaki cooking at 11.95 hard to compete for the price. Ordered the chicken and shrimp with light teriyaki sauce flavor, was good. You can also pick up to 5 different vegetables

    Udon

Still love having my favorite combo chicken and beef yakiudon from Kyoto, with my top five veggie picks. The veggies are fresh fresh fresh and the sauce they use is absolutely delicious. Generous portions, and I appreciate how they keep everything super clean!

String I spit out.. that was somewhere at the bottom of my food

Fuji is a great spot for groups and family dining. It took over the former spot of MBC (Monterey…read moreBay Canners, where I have many fond memories of eating dozens of oysters), that unfortunately, closed during the pandemic. It's a suitable replacement for the time, for families to enjoy sushi or a Teppanyaki dinner "show". The layout has the Teppanyaki dining tables in the front as you enter, rather than at the back of on the side. I suppose it gives an air of excitement as you walk in and watch the chefs put on their show, but the level of "noise" it creates is a bit overwhelming if you're trying to enjoy a nice dinner with a date, or family and friends Our extended family (10 people) went there for an early (5:30pm) dinner on Saturday, before Father's Day, and were seated at the side room behind the glass partitions. From there, we could hear everything happening at the Teppanyaki tables, as though we were right there; especially when they sang "Happy birthday" about 4 different times for the parties enjoying their dinner. Just as a "heads up", I'm not against it, but it was really difficult for us in the other room to actually have a normal conversation across the table while ago that was happening. The food is pretty decent, with a wide selection of sushi rolls and other standard items. I'm not a big sushi roll eater, I prefer great sashimi and an occasional nigiri, but the rolls were pretty good, with several unique offerings. They have Oyster shooters and Uni shooters that come as 2 per order. There were 3 of us (me, my daughter and SIL), so we asked if we could just order 3, rather than 4, but sadly, no. It was fine, and someone in the group ate the other one, but I wished they would price it as each; as most other restaurants that have this item do. The sashimi was average, but it's more of a family dining spot, rather than a sushi bar. The service was good, and everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship. I may be tempted to come to try the Teppanyaki in the future, especially if I'm bringing my granddaughter for the show.

We got smoked out and it got bad to the point where my eyes were getting watery. Not sure if this happens all the time at this spot- this was my first time. The service was okay. We waited over 10 minutes to get cups of water and to put in our order. I totally get that they were short handed which also explains why it took almost 40 minutes for us to be served. Ordered the Negi-Hamachi to try something different. Hamachi is my favorite fish served sashimi style so I decided to switch it up and order the Negi-Hamachi which is finely chopped, yellow-tail with green onion and wasabi over sushi rice served with tsukemono and miso soup. I was super happy with this because the Hamachi was delicious and surprisingly, I did not feel bloated or too full afterwards.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

Anyway he sassily says "you mean soup?". He also didn't even have the decency to walk over to them to get their order and expected them to order over the 4 other people in the party when they were clearly seated in separate booths. We also ordered a Korean fried chicken appetizer which took super long to come out. Pretty sure he forgot about it bc it was all cold by the time it got to us. No apologies or anything and you could already guess the attitude given when asked about it, I literally had to enunciate KOREAN. FRIED. CHICKEN. to him in order for him to understand what I was talking about. At this point we're all collectively over his attitude. He didn't check in throughout the meal, couldn't take count of a simple order for ponzu and goma sauce and only came back when it was time to pay. Our party had to ask another waitress for our end of the meal udon, zosui and desserts that came with the kids meal. Broth was all burnt and gross at this point... Just the type of experience where you feel like you're inconveniencing the server by dining there. Not to mention their bathrooms are disgusting. There was literally pink mold growing around the women's bathroom sink faucets so don't know how often they clean the place. Spend your money elsewhere where it's appreciated. We won't be back here.
