pretty good food that was surprisingly worth the hype for me. though i am not a big ramen fan i thoroughly enjoyed their tonkotsu, but did not care too much for the quality of pork katsu that they had. the omurice was cooked perfectly though! we also thought the pan friend gyoza was underrated as hell btw. lots of seating, good ambiance, and great service! went on a slower day so we wouldnt wait too long :) read more

Came for a birthday and it was all our first time! The setting and ambiance is very nice. Lots of decor to look at. The honeycomb seating is super cool and different. The food was amazing from the spicy dumplings, to the ramen and the omurice. The presentation for the omurice was amazing and it taste just as good. The broth of ramen was very rich and flavorful. This location is so cute and the food was delicious!! (No photos because we ate everything completely) We had the popcorn chicken, the spicy dumplings, the spicy cucumbers, and squid tentacles for appetizers. The black garlic tonkotsu ramen and mega ramen were delicious. Bayu is an amazing waiter; his service was wonderful! We had all recommendations from him and he is so friendly. Food was really good!! We had the Classic Japanese Omurice Combo with Curry Sauce and it can with a presentation show which was pretty cool - wasn't expecting that. It was really delicious, and it came with a matcha pudding with red bean (and you're able to mix half and half for a creamier consistency). We also tried the honeycomb platter (pictured) came with 5 items. All were really good. We had some teas - Aloe Grapefruit Tea and Lychee Lime Green Tea ... really good and wasn't overly sweet. My friend, she had Shoyo Chicken Ramen an said it was good. The service was ok. Our server never checked on us (hence 4 stars) - only to come bring us the bill. Hands down new fave ramen spot! Everything we got was really yummy ! Super flavorful, I liked how the ramen broth is not too salty. The tonkatsu AMAZING, it was so crispy that even after it cooled down a bit it was still crispy. Takoyaki was good too! I liked how it wasn't drenched it sauce and it was just right ~ also got the passion fruit iced tea with lychee jelly and it was good too (: Very aesthetically pleasing in the restaurant, we got to sit on one of those honey comb looking seating on the second floor. You get to over look the restaurant. The decor of the daruma at our seating area was cute ! The music playlist was also a vibe ~ Our server was Jacob and he was awesome ! I was genuinely excited to try this place after seeing it all over Instagram and was hoping it'd become my go-to ramen spot in Henderson. Instead, I walked out frustrated and honestly kind of angry. I literally made a Yelp account just to leave this review. We arrived as a larger party around 7:30pm and were told the wait would be 90 minutes--fair enough for a new restaurant and large party. We actually got seated after about 45 minutes, which gave me hope. That hope died fast. We ordered immediately, 1 karaage appetizer, 1 omurice set, and a ramen each, and STILL waited another 45 minutes for the single appetizer to come out... it was just "okay." The omurice came out a few minutes later and was completely bland. When we asked about our ramen, our server said the kitchen had JUST started making them.... After we'd already been sitting there that long? 50 minutes to START making them? That was infuriating. When the ramen finally showed up, it was all lukewarm. Almost every soup on our table was barely warm. My Sapporo Miso had practically no flavor at all. No richness, no depth, nothing. My friends' Tonkotsu was somehow even blander. As a Japanese person, it honestly made me even more disappointed that nothing tasted remotely Japanese--just flat, empty broth. I'm sorry, but instant ramen has more flavor than what we were served. The ONLY thing remotely enjoyable was the chashu. Most of us didn't even bother finishing our bowls. The cute interior and big menu don't mean anything when the service is this slow and the food tastes like absolutely nothing. I left annoyed, disappointed, and will definitely NOT be coming back. read more

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The service was outstanding!! Emily and Zephyr were friendly, fast, and truly attentive to every detail. They provided us their 100% attention and we were able to feel that they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in what they do. Hokkaido miso was super spicy and doesn't taste like miso ramen in Hokkaido.. omurice looks beautiful but eggs were no flavor and not chicken rice like real Japanese one it was fried rice. Located somewhere in a sprawling Stephanie plaza between Ross and Hobby Lobby, it's somehow managed to survive despite being on hardly anyone's radar. Initially, I had eyes on a salmon app, but I eventually read enough of the menu to notice the Orange Salmon ($13.99), apparently classified as a no-rice roll or something. This is indeed a rendition of a certain famous "new" sashimi-style dish with salmon slices paired with orange slices and an umami dressing. It doesn't super evoke the awe and nostalgia of the original version I had, maybe lacking some orange punch and also using larger but lower quality salmon sashimi cuts. Fortunately, the presence of all the sauces, orange wedges, and microgreens bestows enough flavor to cover for that issue. I also found a more interesting option than a hot bowl of soup in their menu. The Black Garlic Mazemen ($14.99) is a sauced bowl of kale noodles (yep, they're green) with spicy ground pork, chashu, and some sort of mixed greens. It is served hot, so it isn't as much of a relief during the summer, but you can mostly handle it without a spoon. The noodles are coated with that luscious, perhaps under-described sauce that didn't really speak "yuzu" to me. The ground pork doesn't make the whole thing too spicy, and the thin chashu slices are nicely caramelized and tender. I was quite happy with the dish and would order it again as soon as tomorrow. Umai Ramen is really a hidden gem. I can't speak for their regular ramen menu, but I had some very nice dishes here tonight and suggest that anyone else in Henderson who's overlooked them make a stop for either lunch or dinner.

Kung Fu Noodle is one of my favorite noodle joints in Henderson, and along with Shang Artisan Noodle on Maryland Parkway and Silverado Ranch Boulevard, it's one of my go-to Chinese restaurants whenever I'm craving the cuisine. As you might have guessed from the name, they specialize in noodles -- the hand-pulled kind -- and when you come in to the restaurant, you can often see them preparing the noodles by stretching the dough multiple times when you look in the kitchen. It's quite fun watching them prepare the noodles that eventually end up in your food, like those satisfying food videos you watch online... the restaurant itself has a very zen feel to it despite being in a strip mall, so it's a great place to relax, too. Noodle soups and noodle dishes are the name of the game here, but they also serve wok-fried dishes, various street foods, and different kinds of fried rice if you're craving it. Their noodles are among the best I've had, only matched by the noodles I've eaten at Shang -- soft, yet still having a chew to them as they do an amazing job of soaking up the flavor from the soup or sauce that they're cooked in. The fact that I come here repeatedly is a testament to how delicious their food is -- and how cheap, too! A bowl of noodles with appetizers will only run you $20 at most, and considering the quality, it's well worth it! My go-to is the beef brisket noodle, and I order a side of wonton soup from the appetizers to add to the soup. Other standouts include their seafood delight, kung pao chicken, their beef chow mein, and their shrimp tempura and potstickers! It'd be much easier to list the food I've ordered here that I didn't like, which is... nothing, lol. The best part is, the service here is pretty quick, so you're not having to wait long for your food or drinks. Needless to say, I consider this place one of Henderson's best-kept secrets, which is why I'm willing to spill this particular secret since you really can't go wrong with delicious noodles, whatever form they come in. The interior is amazing! The space is very open, and the seating includes raised platform-style tables and even festival stall-inspired setups -- the decor is really fun and full of character. However, the most important part -- the food -- was disappointing. The pork belly was extremely tough, almost like rubber. They offer nine types of ramen, supposedly inspired by regional Japanese styles. But their "Nagasaki ramen" isn't champon -- instead, it's somehow tonkotsu with bonito!? With Osaka ramen and Kyoto ramen on the menu, it's strange that they also list "Kansai ramen." And if they already have Kumamoto and Nagasaki ramen, why call another one "Kyushu ramen"? Shouldn't that be labeled Fukuoka or Hakata ramen instead? Of course, taste matters most, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that it was a pseudo-Japanese-style ramen shop.
