Is It Izakaya? It's Not Your Typical Izakaya. It's Thai fusion with Japanese dishes. I saw on Yelp and Resy that there was a new izakaya in town, so of course I had to check it out. When we arrived, we noticed a sign on the door offering 10% off during their soft opening. This location took over the former Daisho Sushi space. Ambiance (5/5): We were seated in a private room that could comfortably fit about 10 people. It was cozy and thoughtfully decorated with custom comic posters. I kept noticing "Weera" on several of them, and after asking our server, I learned that the restaurant is owned by the same group behind Weera Thai. As someone who used to be a loyal Weera customer, I was interested to see how their menu and dishes will be. Service (4/5): The service was standard, but our waitress didn't seem very familiar with the menu yet, which is understandable during a soft opening. Food (2/5): Unfortunately, the food was the biggest disappointment. For me, if an izakaya can't get the chicken karaage right, it's usually not a good sign for me. The chicken karaage was nothing like traditional Japanese karaage, was dry, lacked seasoning, and wasn't enjoyable. We also ordered a variety of dishes, including skewers, sashimi, khao jee (Thai grilled rice ball), and larb. The larb was overly salty, and the sashimi wasn't as fresh as I expected. The salmon was decent, but the tuna and yellowtail were below average. The highlights of the meal were definitely the pork jowl with the spicy seasoning and the khao jee. Those were the only two dishes I would order again. Would Order Again * Pork jowl with spice powder (4/5) * Khao jee (Thai grilled rice ball) (4/5) Just Okay * Takoyaki (4/5) * Chicken skin skewer (3/5) * Mixed skewers (3/5) * Sushi (3/5) Wouldn't Order Again * Chicken karaage (1/5) * Larb (2/5) I know they're still in their soft opening, so I'll probably give them some time before coming back to try more of the menu. But based on this first visit, I wouldn't recommend it to my friends or fellow Yelpers just yet.

Love this Thai x Japanese fusion spot! It's honestly the best of both worlds and two of my favorite cuisines! Isan style is from Northern Thailand, which is full of flavor and spice. I really do like the variety on their menu. The ambiance is very cute and welcoming. Love the decorations throughout! The servers were very attentive and nice! The Salmon Dong is a must + chicken skin! As for the sashimi they offer Japanese Style or Isan style. Of course we tried for the yellowtail Isan style and it did not disappoint!

We've been here twice in the last two weeks because we liked it that much. The first time we came with friends and loved the food, so we ended up coming back again. The inside is nicely decorated, and everyone we've come across has been welcoming and friendly. When we left, they gave us a cute little Kinzuu bag with dogs printed on it, which was a fun detail. The menu has a good variety, so there's something for everyone. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I kept digging into the food before I remembered. The prices are very reasonable, and it's a great spot whether you're meeting friends for dinner or grabbing a late-night snack. We'll definitely be back.

I think this place definitely has a lot of potential. It's a Thai/Japanese fusion and probably one of the first I've seen in Vegas. The overall ambiance is quite nice and staff were very accommodating. No issues there. As for food, my favorite dish probably has to be the Salmon Dong. The fish was really fresh and the green Thai sauce was absolutely delicious! If I were to go back, I would definitely get that dish again. Everything else, however, was decent. It wasn't anything I would rave about. I found that the Khao Jee w/ larb lacked a lot flavor. It tasted like something I could make at home even tho it was supposed to be one of their highly rated dishes. This is a common feeling I got from many of the dishes I had. The same can also be said for the Kinzuu house roll where it just had the same texture all throughout. Overall, this place is not bad for what it is and can definitely use some improvement.

We went here during their soft opening so they didn't have a liquor license yet, but apart from that, everything was so well done and the dining experience was such a treat! The menu can be a bit overwhelming but really everything you order is a hit on the table. The enoki tempura is a must on the table as well as the pork jowl rice. Also the eel bento is to die for! The service was great and we were a fairly large party but everything was taken care of for us, even had an additional treat for a birthday. The vibe is casual and lax with the food on higher end, so price point can get up there but it is worth it.

First time with the family this weekend and it was a great dining experience. The place has ample parking ( just be careful not to go through Wendy's drive thru). The interior is very clean with a true Asian touch. The food is delicious especially their wide variety of kushiyaki. The staff are very attentive, plesant, and accommodating.

Very attentive servers, they greeted instantly when we walked in. They also periodically checked on us w/ the right amount. Also very informed about their menu. Everything that we ordered were all tasty. The mango sticky rice w/matcha is a nice invention(never had this before), tasted 10/10. Though I think if the mango were more warm might taste even better! Maybe 11/10? Anyone who likes matcha should give it a try. The restaurant is well decorated, and plays nice/soothing Japanese music in the background. Reminded us when we used to live/dine in Japan. Definitely will be back!

Taking over the former Daisho Sushi & Lounge space at Rainbow and Warm Springs, Kinzuu Izakaya quietly opened up this week. They call themselves a Japanese izakaya with Thai fusion, specifically from the Isaan region (which is in the northeastern part). They are currently offering 25% off their food menu until June 30th, per their IG post. But this deal is too good, so not sure if they will really keep it that long. We walked in around 6:30 pm yesterday and there were a couple of tables with patrons. We started ordering a few items and they arrived pretty quickly. * Crispy Chicken Skin with Sriracha Mayo $8 - Their variation of chicken skin is a bit more chewier but their seasoning powder is what gives this dish the wow factor. And the fried lemongrass bits are another flavor bomb to it. You don't even need the sriracha mayo. We ended up ordering another one. * Khao Jee Original $5 - This is a a grilled sticky rice ball and it comes with a dipping sauce. We got two orders of this as well. * Thai-style Marinated Salmon with Spicy Seafood Sauce & Seaweed $13 - The salmon already has tons of flavor from the marination, but the added spicy seafood sauce is a bonus. * Pork Jowl Grill with Isaan Spicy Powder $15 - This was a wow dish for us. The sauce that comes on it is just fine, but they do provide the spicy sauce as well which just adds to it. We ordered a second one of this too. Ordering this dish and a bowl of rice (or the khao jee) would be just a great meal. * Tam Lao Hokkaido Hotate $15 - The papaya salad beneath the scallops was super spicy! It had great flavor, but we were dying and desperately needed more water. * Sweet Shrimp Carpaccio $10 - And it came with the fried heads and dipping sauce! Need I say more? We got another order! * Yellowtail Jalapeño Carpaccio $10 - Good size slices of yellowtail and I was fearful of the jalapeño after the papaya salad but others who ate it said it wasn't spicy. * Hokkaido Scallop Carpaccio $10 - Nice bursts of tobiko lay on top of each slice. * Chicken Heart (Hatsu) Isaan Style $3.50/each - We squeezed the lemon slice on top, but found it very lemony in general. * Toro Temaki $8 - This was a lovely way to close out our meal, we ordered three of them. Nice chunks of toro that just melt in your mouth, and I also used the sriracha mayo for a little kick. It's Japanese food, but with bursts of flavor explosions with the Thai spices that we really enjoyed and surprised us. Service - There were only a couple of waitresses when we initially sat down and there was a bit of a language challenge. Food was coming out quickly since it wasn't busy. But I guess when we needed water, we had to flag someone down as we were all out at that point. More staff did arrive during our two hour dinner. But since it started filling up, it took a bit longer for the food to arrive. There was only one person working behind the sushi counter so I think that is part of the backup. And since there was more staff, our water glasses never were empty again which we appreciated. The waitresses were all super nice and sweet! They did have a few mistakes on their menu with pictures that don't align with the food item, and they were out of a few items already too. I think once they get more established, the speed of service will improve. Overall, we'll definitely be back because we are loving the flavor combinations. And these prices and the soft opening discount is something we can't say no to. 4.5 stars.

I was so excited to try this place out as I was intrigued with the Japanese/Thai fusion restaurant. Loved the interior design. Staff was nice and welcoming as well. We ordered the Thai-style marinated salmon, chicken negima yakitori and isaan style, beef skewer yakitori and isaan style, chicken heart skewer yakitori style and khao jee with uni, however only the Thai-style marinated salmon, chicken negima yakitori/isaan style, and the beef skewer yakitori/isaan style came, which were really good! We followed up on the rest of our order and found out that some of our order was not sent to the kitchen. We were patient and waited, I understand that they're new and got busy however we waited long enough, and no one came back to give us an update, so we decided to get the check. The staff was very apologetic about our experience. I do want to give this place another chance. Hopefully it will be better next time!

I've never tried Thai-Japanese fusion before, but after my girlfriend saw this place on TikTok, we had to check it out! Vegas already has an incredible Asian food scene, so I wasn't expecting such a uniquely new flavor experience. Everything was fantastic, but the Thai-Marinated Salmon was the absolute standout. Also, the spicy seafood sauce that came with a few of our plates quickly became my go-to dipping sauce for everything. I tried Enoki Mushroom Tempura for the first time and will definitely order it again. The Salmon Narok Fire roll and Don't Cry Ribeye were good, but I'll probably swap them out to try something new next time. The vibe here is amazing! It feels like a well-lit hybrid of a nightclub and a pub. To top it off, the servers were friendly and super attentive, and they were running a 25% discount on all food items! We will definitely be back soon.

I'm obsessed with this restaurant. The food was incredible and had such an amazing presentation. The service was 10/10 as well. Going back the second time in one week!

What brought us here is my sister's restaurant credit on American Express. She's able to pick a restaurant once a quarter and receives $100 credit so long as the restaurant is on Resy. Upon walking in you'll find that it's definitely an Izakaya Japanese vibe with a more light ambience. There were a lot of servers checking up on us, giving us water and being top-notch in that way. I enjoyed the food that we had, but I'm not sure it's a place I would personally return if my sister hadn't used this credit. While I liked the food, expect to spend between $30-$40 to feel satiated and satisfied at least for someone with my (larger) appetite.

Tried this new spot for the first time after dinning there several times when it was Daisho. Happy with our first encounter. The place has a nice new face done and has some new kitcheny decorations. The menu combination was interesting. We tried the: Cucka ika -really good Miso soup-perfect temp Takoyaki- really good Beni shoga helps balance Gyoza-run of the mill deep fried Edamame- spicy garlic good Negi Hama- I think they misunderstood no negi in it but good Ribeye skewer- really good Enoki tempura-good Sushi sampler- solid nice rice. good deal Thai tea-really good Kinzuu roll- meh Tom kha udon- really tasty, chicken skewer seems just added on though Service was good. Will definitely go back

Even without pressing it, the staff checked on us often and were very attentive. We ordered so many dishes, and everything was amazing! The yakitori meatballs were incredibly juicy and flavorful. The ume shiso yellowtail tempura was one of my favorites--the combination of the plum and shiso made it so refreshing. The Okinawa soda was my favorite drink of the night. We also ordered the hamachi jalapeño, which was delicious. The vinegar sauce was perfectly balanced. The ika mentaiko tempura was excellent too, and the squid was so tender. After 10 PM, they offer a happy hour special with $5 hand rolls, cheap drinks, and basically half off of all their skewers, potatoes, and small bites. On the particular evening that we went, either they were extra busy and had too much customers from CES... but they ran out of sushi rice and did not have any hand rolls....How does a Japanese restaurant run out of rice??? We were super disappointed and ended up just getting skewers. Itzakaya Tora, you definitely need to step up your game and have better management in the future for these big events. I don't think they are that new of a restaurant, but they definitely let me down. Chicken and pork skewers ($2 per skewer, 7/10) - super juicy! You can definitely taste the charcoal and barbecue flavor. They do a great job of keeping each skewer, moist and juicy, that I didn't feel like I was eating burnt skewers like you get at some other restaurants. - $2 per skewer is pretty good for the happy hour deal, but I think it's much more expensive during the regular menu option. Don't think it would be particularly worth it with their regular menu. Overall, super disappointed that they didn't have any more of their sushi, rice and best do not have any $5 hand rolls during their happy hour. Also, the wait was super long to get in, and they were definitely understaffed. If they had all their food selections available, this would probably be a higher rating, but the long weight and lack of menu items was super disappointing.

I have come by for happy hour multiple times which is when they do these $5 hand rolls, I could be wrong but I believe they are $5. I recall getting yellowtail and it's delicious. Izakaya Tora is a Japanese restaurant off of paradise really close to the strip and the sphere. It is fairly small, but they have non ayce sushi which does = higher prices but better quality. They have a pretty large menu of kitchen items, sake and drinks, and sushi and sashimi. At this visit we shared a scallop crudo that we liked, a yellowtail crudo that we loved, lamb chops were good, and I believe three rolls. One of the rolls we didn't like because they make the srirachi in house which was more sweet than spicy, but the others were good. I do like this place but it is not a quick stop type of place. It's a spot you come and hang out and take your time. Food can take some time but worth it with the quality and taste. It is also not cheap so more a quality over quantity situation. Service can be a little slow but pleasant. Overall I do like this spot for happy hour if I want a late night drink and bite of sushi.

My family made a reservation because they wanted to celebrate my birthday, so I was really looking forward to it. When it is your birthday, even a small detail feels a little more important. You want the night to feel special, smooth, and happy from the beginning. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there seemed to be a small issue with the reservation, and the table we were given was much smaller than expected. Since we were there as a family for a birthday dinner, it felt uncomfortable at first. I have to be honest -- my mood was not great in the beginning. It was one of those moments where you think, "Oh no, is this how the night is going to start?" But then the food started coming out, and Hachi completely turned the night around. The first thing that changed my mood was the beer. The draft beer was served in an unbelievably icy-cold mug. It was not just cold -- it looked and felt like it had come straight out of a freezer. The foam was smooth, the beer was crisp, and the first sip was so refreshing that I almost forgot I had been upset a few minutes earlier. That beer alone deserves applause. Sometimes a perfect cold beer can fix a whole mood, and this one absolutely did. The biggest highlight of the night was the tuna toro. It was incredible. The texture was so soft and delicate that it almost felt like cotton candy melting in my mouth. Rich, buttery, fresh, and so smooth. It was the kind of bite that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a second. We loved it so much that we ordered it three times. Ordering the same dish three times says everything. It was not a maybe. It was not a "let's think about it." It was a clear yes every time. The skewers were also very good. The grilled meats had a nice smoky flavor, and they were seasoned well without being too salty. They paired perfectly with the icy beer. But the shrimp skewer was especially memorable. The shrimp had that perfect bouncy, juicy texture. It was grilled nicely, still tender, and full of natural sweetness. Some grilled shrimp can become dry or forgettable, but this one had personality. Small skewer, big impact. We also enjoyed several other izakaya-style dishes. The grilled shishito peppers with bonito flakes were simple but delicious, and they helped balance out the richer dishes. The grilled squid had a great smoky flavor and a chewy texture that went so well with beer. These are exactly the kinds of dishes that make izakaya dining so fun -- one bite, one sip, one more bite, and suddenly the table is full of happy people. The sashimi platter was fresh and beautifully served over ice. There was a nice variety, including tuna, salmon, white fish, scallop, and ikura. Everything looked clean and fresh, and the presentation made it feel even more enjoyable. But honestly, the toro was the star. I will probably remember that toro for a long time. My daughter ordered tonkatsu, and that was also a huge hit. Sometimes at restaurants like this, kids' dishes can feel like an afterthought, but this tonkatsu was really good. It was crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. Seeing my daughter enjoy her food made my birthday dinner even better. As a mom, when your child eats well and is happy, the whole meal suddenly feels more peaceful. That is just the truth. Overall, Hachi started with a little frustration because of the reservation issue and the small table, but the food and drinks completely saved the night. The icy-cold beer, the amazing tuna toro, the juicy shrimp skewer, and the tonkatsu were all memorable. The food was strong enough to make us forget the rough beginning, and by the end of the meal, we were all happy. Las Vegas has so many flashy restaurants, but Hachi has that casual, comfortable izakaya charm. It is the kind of place where you order many small dishes, share with the table, drink something cold, and let the night slowly become fun. I would definitely come back next time I am in Las Vegas. Next time, I already know what I am ordering first: an icy-cold beer and tuna toro. And honestly, I may order the toro twice from the beginning, because one order is definitely not enough.

Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto. Cannot wait to return to Shigotonin!

I went to Kyara on a date, but it wasn't the quiet or romantic kind of place I thought it'd be. Kyara had great service but they visit you every few minutes and explain things before each dish and they may cook something in front of you or show you the fish (like the actual real whole fish from the same catch you'd be eating)! When we were about to be served the wagyu beef dish, we were shown the certificate and our server explained all about the cow. I felt like I knew all about Bertha and joked that we just went through her photo album and yearbook. Like how was I supposed to eat Bertha now?!! Aiyahhhhh. Kyara may not be the romantic type of restaurant, but it was more memorable and more of an experience! It had may "wow" moments.
