From the moment we walked in, we were impressed. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of seating for both small and large groups. The service was outstanding--our server JJ was attentive without being overbearing and always checked if we wanted to order anything else before our plates were even empty. My husband absolutely loved the sushi and the jalapeño bombs. We used to live in Japan, and he said the sushi reminded him so much of what we had there, which is about as high of a compliment as you can give! I don't eat sushi, but there were still so many delicious options for me. The black garlic ramen was incredible, and the Honey Bee Pork Toro was one of my favorite dishes. The value is amazing, too. Lunch AYCE is only $25.95, which is hard to beat. They also offer a late-night happy hour from 9 p.m. to close with all-you-can-eat for $19.95 and all-you-can-drink for $9.95. We had a little bit of a wait, like 30 mins. Parking was nearby altho it was a full parking lot and small but luckily we arrived at beginning of Happy Hour so it wasn't as busy yet. Once we were seated, our server approached right away and offered drinks. We went straight ahead and ordered our food as well since we pretty know the menu. This is our first time trying out Sumo sushi on Decatur. We've only tried Sumo sushi on Warm Spring which is a sisters company. Menu is slightly different. With Happy Hour there was no oysters but that's ok. I ordered 1 salmon collar (Kama) which were delicious. I recommend ordering these early on since it takes time for them to bake it. As usual I ordered appetizers, edamame, tonkotsu ramen soup, shrimp & veggies tempura, then I ordered 1/2 dragon roll, unagi nigiri, shrimp nigiri. The octopus was undercooked so I couldn't eat them. Hubby ate them and told me they were very chewy so I'm glad I didn't try it. The hubby ordered his usual, salmon nigiri, toro, uni etc... Last we ordered dessert which comes with the ayce meal. I got coffee affogato and hubby got mango mochi. I was so stuffed when we wobbled out of there lol I recommend they slice the pork in the soup thinner. It was too thick. When we're in town, this is one of our favorite family restaurants! Their menu is more than enough to service kids and adults. Our family is a family size of 7! So our kids who are 10 months all the way to 12 all love everything they order :) Our fave waiter is Ming! He is always helpful and ready to make sure our orders come in on time. Wanted sushi for lunch so this was where we decided to check out. I had no idea there was another Sumo sushi on decatur and we were so impressed! It was a quiet weekday but e didn't mind it being chill that day. Super delicious and fresh sushi! I especially loved how they have Sarada Lobster, super white tuna was really good too. We came to this restaurant on a Tuesday dinner time. We opted for the all day AYCE. The restaurant had great interior and made us feel like we were in Japan. Food was phenomenal and we were blown away by the quality and quantity of the food. They don't skimp out and they make the dining experience feel like high end fine dining experience. Their spicy ramen is a must. Their ice cream is the premium one in a small package instead of the usual scoop of ice cream Service could have been better. One of the waiters was visibly chewing gum when he interacted with the customers. When staff dropped off food to our table, they would not mention what the item was. They would forget to bring non ticketed items requested a couple of times like side of spicy mayo. I would hate this restaurant to be known as the post 9pm happy hour place when it has so much more potential. It still says "we are coming soon" on the From this Business section. Hidden away in a back corner, this All-You-Can-Eat sushi joint looks like a tiny tansu store from old Kyoto--if old Kyoto served Hot Cheetos. Here is the damage: The Nigiri: Yellowtail, Albacore, Super White Tuna, Sarada Lobster, Aomori Scallop, Lemon Salmon, and Yuzu Yellowtail. The Cooked Stuff: Seared Yum Yum Shrimp and grilled Honey Bee Pork Toro. The Half-Rolls: Wagyu Beef, Coconut Salmon, the "No Name," the Amazing Spider, the Kiss of Fire, and yes, the spicy Hot Cheetos roll. Honestly, A+ to the chef for turning sushi into a wild, creative flavor adventure. It easily cracks my top 25 favorite sushi spots in Vegas. What's better than late night sushi at 11 PM on a Saturday? We called ahead of time because they close at midnight, last call was at 11:30. No wait and staff was so friendly when we arrived. They were also quick with the orders! Was defeated after round 2. Standout orders were the yuzu yellowtail and candy salmon nigiri for me! The yuzu yellowtail was very evenly balanced with the citrusy yuzu flavor, topped with a jalapeño and a dab of hot sauce for the perfect amount of heat. Candy salmon was unlike anything I've ever had at a sushi place in America. Lightly seared with unagi sauce and topped with a sprinkle of sugar. Sounds crazy but works so well! Everything else was tasty too, including the side dishes we ordered: takoyaki, garlic edamame (YUM and full of garlicky goodness), baked mussels, rice cakes, KFC, gyoza... the weakest was probably the cucumber salad--not enough vinegar, and the mochi ice cream. I frequent all Sumo locations (the one in the southwest and the hotpot one) and this one is sadly my least favorite. I really wanted to like this one more because the food and the service is wonderful. Although, the options offered here don't really differ from the other locations and the management needs to plan their promos better. Also, there is a lingering stench inside the restaurant that's not very appetizing. I've been here twice in two weeks and it hasn't dissipated still. The food was great. All fish was very fresh and the ratio of fish to rice was excellent. There is a good variety of apps, nigiri, and rolls. It doesn't have anything too different from the other sumo locations. The fried scallop appetizer is really delicious, but it's definitely an imitation fish inside. I included a photo below. Also, I went for a late night dinner once (around 9pm) and they ran out of vanilla ice cream. Our server, Cinnamon, was very kind and was exceptional! Very attentive and if I come back I hope Cinnamon is there. A different time, we went with a large group (10 people) and the server was kind as well. The kitchen was very backed up and orders were slow, so our 90 minute limit gracefully turned into a 150 minute session. So the service here is great! As for the promo, I've experienced this at other chains before. There is a "$19.95" ad circulating around for the "soft opening". Yet, upon arrival, they don't honor the promotion on weekends anymore since its just for the "opening" even though it says its valid "Every day". To me, this is quite a deceptive practice as the business owners could easily remove this ad or update the dates. We would've just gone to a different location if we knew that this promo wasn't available on weekends anymore. A different server graciously offered us extra desserts upon the confusion. I likely won't be back here, but it's still a solid place overall. There is just a lot of other great sushi in vegas I'd rather go to. read more

First time trying Sumo Sushi on Decatur and it was actually really good. The place has a chill, casual vibe--nothing fancy, just a solid sushi spot where you can sit down and eat comfortably. The rolls came out fresh and were bigger than I expected, packed with flavor instead of just looking nice. Fish tasted clean, rice was soft, and everything felt made fresh instead of sitting around. Service was quick and pretty relaxed, and even though it got a little busy, we still got our food pretty fast. Overall, really good first impression--definitely somewhere I'd come back to when I'm craving sushi. My favorite was the must try No Name Roll and the Bruno Mars Special. Both lived up to its name for being Sumo's Top 8. The Demon Slayer Roll was probably my favorite thing I tried. It had a really good mix of flavors and the sauce brought everything together without being too much. Fresh, filling, and definitely something I'd order again. The Bruno Mars Roll was fresh, flavorful, and easy to finish. Definitely one of the better specialty rolls I tried. Service was quick and chill. Staff was friendly and got everything out pretty fast. Sumo Sushi 3 is the next installment of the popular local all you can eat chain in the city. Service was excellent as soon as I called to see if they were open and offering the $19.95 late night ayce. The gentleman on the phone was very friendly and provided helpful details on the pricing and promotional pricing during certain times. Currently for their grand opening they're offering $19.95 two times a day, every day. Walking into the restaurant my first impression is that it's very clean, well lit, and beautifully decorated with traditional Japanese themes. The chefs and servers Edward & Yun acknowledged us by greeting my party as well. The servers were very descriptive and knowledgeable about the menu and have great recommendations of things that set them apart from the other ayce sushi restaurants that you can pick from up and down Spring Mountain Rd. An interesting feature is that their chef prepares all the sauces in the rolls and appetizers himself so that's pretty cool. The appetizers were all prepared very fresh. The shrimp tempura and fried scallop arrived hot and delicious, perfectly fried with fresh oil. The salt and pepper chicken skewer was juicy and not well done to the point that it tasted like jerky that some places tend to overcook it. The nigiri to rice ratio is insane. Almost like 4:1. It really feels like they aren't trying to stuff with you just rice so you really do get a great value out of the price per person. Fish was fresh and delicious. Didn't really get any pieces that tasted more fishy than I am expecting. The head chef also came by and checked up on us to make sure everyone was happy with the quality of his food which is always appreciated. I would definitely come back just because of the service, ambiance, in addition to the food quality. The morning and late night discounted price is the perfect cherry on top to make this a must try restaurant. read more

Decided to try out the sumo happy hour special where it's only 19.99 after 9 pm and we got there at exactly 9 so there was no wait but as we sat there the restaurant started ti fill up fairly quickly. The two waiters they had were very nice and the girls though that were running out the orders to the tables and cleaning the tables were ok one of them gave my son a annoyed look at him because he had asked for more hot water for his tea. We had 4 orders that we were waiting for for about 15 minutes and we asked if they were coming we were told they were sent to the wrong tables at the point we were near the end of our dinner decided to leave. So it was so so food was decent for 20 dollars the amount of time to get the items were ok considering it was very busy. Some good ones about this specific location was the skewers (Shrimp & the sausage one ) were great and weren't limited to one per person. The Lunch/late night special ($19.99) is also a steal ! We were excited to find this place at the Northeast corner of Twain and Decatur. It used to be called Sushi Ya, just so you know the location. We were immediately seated after 9:00 p.m. (happy hour) on a Sunday evening, where for only $19.95 there is a late-night menu, which was surprisingly varied with many choices and categories. We seemed to order dang near everything on the menu!All of the appetizers were served hot and delicious. The nigiri slices were perfect size and thickness, with only a little bit of rice. I personally did not like the greens in the Miso soup, a little too tough for my taste. However, that's the only negative item I found during the entire evening. Everything else was very fresh and delicious. They had a fun variety of rolls, of which we tried a few. Service was fast and always friendly. Nicely decorated interior, with music quietly playing in the background. Water decanters were left on the table for us. The booth we sat in was very private and comfortable. We were beginning to doubt the sanity of waiting over an hour and not getting seated until 10:45pm. I'm too old to be eating this late! But I'm happy to report that it was worth the wait. We were advised that the sushi orders were a bit backed up so we decided to add a few cooked items, such as chicken skewers, salmon skin salad and mini ramen soup. To our delight, these items came out almost immediately. All were well-prepared and tasty. We also ordered nigiri (salmon, tuna, albacore, etc) and the Rainbow Roll. Highly recommend this place. The only suggestion I'd make is to enforce the 90 minute time limit. There was a large table of 10 people who ate for almost 2.5 hours. We and other patrons probably would have been seated much sooner if they had vacated after 90min. But those are the usual growing pains of a new establishment and I have to commend the host and servers. They were very kind, attentive, and apologetic about the wait. read more
